One of the worst experiences I ever had. On the day of arrival I wanted to pay for an extra person, which I already had inquired and they told me "it won't be a problem" and when I reached there the reciopsionist took almost an hour and in the end was unable to do so!!! The next day I paid for the parking 10 BGN ( mind you it's a 5star hotel and you have to pay extra for parking!!!) and I asked the reciopsionist would it be a problem to take my car out and she smiling ly replied "No". Guess what "of course I was unable to get out". Then I had to come again to the reception to take the note. On which she wrote "OK" then I was unable to get out. Mind you it was raining and I had to come out from car parking barrier to reception.

Hotel even nice, food ... you have to look good to find something good and it's still the same. The pool is 26 degrees and the water is cold, but the indoor pool is warm. Animation saves the situation because it is a young cool team, there is a lot of animation, so if you lead an active lifestyle, you will not be bored. The beach is rocky so I recommend taking shoes. The rooms are "ok" and nothing more cleaners do not understand English only the basic word "please later". In conclusion, if you like to do something you like to get to know new flavors and you like to cool in the pool is a hotel for you, but if you like to sunbathe and occasionally swim in warm water and eat well then I suggest you choose another country. There is still a division between better and worse ... Generally a hotel not worth the price and people who are happy with this hotel probably have never been in a real five-star hotel.

4 star location

4 star location
3 star restaurant and service!
Without diversity, if you go with a small child you have nothing to feed him.
95% of the staff do not know English, you speak Bulgarian
Parking 20 levs per night, very expensive for what they are in themselves
Empty refrigerator in the room, I have not encountered this in any 4 or 5 star hotel.

I'd spent a week there and let me tell that this is a luxury resort, compared to another 5 stars hotel i've been, such as Adakule in Kusadasi and Dedeman in Antaliya . here we had 2 floor breakfast buffet full of choices in at least good quality, all of the services are carried out on time and there was a clean clean environment. i love the place and suggest it for a lux relaxing vacation.

End of August 2018 - -> Nice for a week with the kids. Very large but busy hotel. Fortunately, everything is going smoothly (elevator, restaurant, bars ...). Not everything is always pico bello clean, but with such a crowd of people it is not surprising of course. The area (garden, swimming pool and slides) are perfectly maintained. Spacious rooms and bathroom with 2 sinks, bathtub and large walk-in shower. Air conditioning worked perfectly 9/10. Perfect location 9/10. Very good Spa with masseurs who know something about it! 10/10. Restaurant: advances quickly but sometimes a bit too busy. Food was usually hot enough 8/10. Overall I give an 8/10.

Hotel recommendable. We bought the level we highly recommend. A separate restaurant where champagne was served with each meal, a separate swimming pool and a restaurant with alcohol imported on the 8th floor with a beautiful view. Service at the highest level treats the guest very unique. Room and a wonderful and large sea view. RECOMMEND

We stayed there in summer 2019. It was a great hotel with high quality food and facilities. Location is also great. Close to the beach. Friendly staff specially in the bar. We travel around the world a lot and this hotel is one of the best I ve ever experienced.

So my 3 stars arise for the following reasons:
First of all I have to say the staff was always polite and helpful
The hotel clean and nice
The hotel room could be renovated, especially the bathroom should be checked more often. Because there are no windows, mold quickly develops.
The cleaning lady, however, did not make the room every day (we also had the do not disturb sign on it twice) on the last day this sign was ignored and they simply went into the room and put fresh bed linen before we checked out (our At that time things were no longer in the safe and simply entering the room is not possible)
The location of the hotel is excellent and there is plenty to do for children.
The food is a total disaster, disgusting, half raw and cold and I definitely don't recommend booking all-in. I brought home food poisoning, the last 3 days of my vacation I just hung over the porcelain bowl of 7 days vacation, which is a very bad and sad rate. For 1000 euros, 3 days were absolutely wasted. But who can claim their money back because of spoiled food ?!
On the whole, you can recommend the hotel because of the location, the view of the sea, the pool, the kids slide and the friendly staff. But don't book all in, prefer to eat out. Everything is super cheap in Bulgaria.
The hotel is advertised with 5 stars. According to my experience after a week's vacation - conclusion = this hotel deserves a maximum of 3 stars and I'm really sorry about that and it's really because of the bad food, otherwise I'm really very happy but I can't give more than 3 stars as I have Paid so much money and come home sick and couldn't eat anything because the really, really bad food blew my mind. I'm sorry for 3 stars.

An awesome hotel. Even though it is big and with a lot of guest in the high season, it doesn't seem crowded. The kids loved it and the adults got to relax. Only input to the hotel would to work a bit on the food. It was diverse, but bland to taste. I highly recommend the hotel!

I spent a dream week at this hotel. A short description:
Large rooms, extraordinary, clean swimming pool, diversified and quality food (I don't think anyone can say that it has nothing to eat, except for the carriages, of course), an area with children's food, sweets at discretion and quality, the team of entertainers wonderful, with the mention that it could slightly diversify the program from the pool, the drinks ok, the friendly staff, with small minus at the Reception.
We return with great love to the year!
We hope you will become better and better!
Thank you for everything!

How you can die on the orange water slide at Melia...

How you can die on the orange water slide at Melia Grand Hermitage and how the director of the hotel, Mrs. Ivelina Atanasova says she has no responsibility about it

There is a big orange slide at Melia Grand Hermitage where theoretically an employee should guard the slide and let people in one by one; this is just in theory, because in practice not always there is someone there guarding or they have very young staff at about 20 years old who have better things to do such as staying on the phone instead of guarding the orange slide; Therefore one week ago, while my husband went on the slide together with our child, one other tourist bumped into them on the slide frontally causing my husband a very bad hit at the ribs; we were not expecting this to happen, of course, therefore we asked for the manager to come; nobody was available, after jumping from one employee to the other, we phone the police to come and check how this is possible to be happening and what kind of security and protection rules this hotel has.
Police came and said these are the internal rules of the hotel so nothing to do with them. Meaning you can die on the orange slide at Melia Grand Hotel that bulgarian police has nothing to do with it;
Today while doing the checkout I asked the hotel manager to come and told her we are going to go for a doctor scan in Romania to see if all fine because my husband moves with difficulty and that I am going to ask the hotel to pay the bill for the scan because all happened because of their lack of responsibility on the security of the orange slide; and she asked me if I had an insurance and to ask the insurance to pay it. Why insurance should pay the irresponsibility of Melia Hermitage Hotel Staff?
Who caused it should be responsible and pay it.
How Mrs. Manager Ivelina Atanasova sees it: they taken no measures after this accident had happened. Only measure they tried taken in the balcanic way was that the chief of security proposed my husband an upgrade to Level package which we refused, we said they should guard their slides better and the security of the tourists;
After they took absolutely no measures on better guarding the slides Mrs. Atanasova said my insurance should pay it. Congratulations, Mrs. Atanasova for how you manage the hotel s team and security of the tourists!
I wonder, my insurance should pay also the irresponsibility of Melia Grand Hermitage Hotel security staff, and also Mrs. Atanasova irresponsibility towards the tourists who are visiting the hotel and trustfully using the water slides of the hotel?
To whom it may concern: this discussion was held in front of the reception around 12 o clock Bulgaria time; the 3 receptionists there today heard it; better you check your rules and your staff and keep people safe rather than cover up the garbage under the carpet and take no security measures at all.
Mrs. Atanasova, try yourself the orange water slide while one of your staff is letting in the chief of the security on the water slide in the same time to frontally hit as it happened to my husband, maybe after you are yourself hit (if you are still alive) you will take some security measures .

Kind Regards
Claudia

A nice location, good accommodation, not 5 stars. Cleaning was done at inconvenient hours (after lunch when you could rest a bit), they could come when you went to dinner or to the show, etc. If you told them to come back later, they wouldn't come back. They didn't ask if he needed paper or to change towels. For this I agree Max 3 stars. The food is good, I can't say you couldn't find anything to eat. A plus is related to parking (they have parking both in front of the hotel and underground).

Five-star collective farm! 1. The hotel parking is small and not enough for everyone, plus if it was enough, then 200 rubles a day. 2. There is always a queue at the reception. 3. Bathrobe is not included in the price (for an additional payment of 500 rubles per day! !!) But the rooms are excellent and the sea view is super! !!

I definitely do not recommend. We were checked in at the hotel for a late breakfast. The first meal that was served was dinner. Food tasteless, monotonous, there is always something missing, stale bread served with meals. Slides closed for half the stay, as they have already been opened it is a pity that the hotel did not think about changing the water. From the slide, we will have a bath in a puddle, muddy and dirty water. The animator invited her daughter to play in the pool, after which she left two children in the water and did not appear again. This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.

A great hotel for a relaxing holiday! Fantastic service, numerous attractions, delicious food in many restaurants, luxury rooms, cleaned daily with the exchange of bed linen and towels. Highly greenery. The only negative is the lack of a private beach, the one lying opposite the hotel should be Melia. I will go back there.

A large hotel set in a garden. In the area of swimming pools, three slides, playground, rope park, play room (ping-pong, billiards, table football). Very clean. Spacious rooms, large, well-maintained bathrooms (2 sinks, toilet, bidet, bathtub, rain shower). Rooms cleaned daily. Bed linen and towels are changed every day. Tasty, varied meals.
No hotel beach. From the garden side, a seaside promenade.

This is one of my favourite places to stay in Varna .Golden Sands , Good choice of food , but standards have dropped. They now have a pizza bar just outside and is unattended , So the sparrows and seagulls eat there as well .
Did mention it to the staff .but next day they did the same thing , all I can say is stupid is stupid does .

All inclusive 5 star hotel, 750 rooms, 1 big pool,...

All inclusive 5 star hotel, 750 rooms, 1 big pool, no private beach, paid parking.
Management seems to be doing a great job regarding rooms maintenance, cleaning this huge hotel and offering very good food. Food was plenty, very diverse, good quality and quantity. Small lines at top foods of the day but nothing out of ordinary.
Entertainment team is also very good and they manage to keep kids excited every day. A big plus from families with older kids as they can find something to do every day.

Big minus is the pool situation - the team does an amazing job in all other areas so it is strange for me that they can t find a solution to block people from reserving sun beds. After 8.30-9.00 is difficult to find a seat that is not reserved although by 11.30-12.00 is clear that at least 30% are reserved and not used.
They do have a pool boy taking some, very few, towels just so they can reply to comments that a procedure is applied. Is not something really helpful...
Adding to the 750 rooms( at least 2000 people in high season) and the fact that they do not have a private beach area this is becoming a major issue.
Neutral- parking is private, underground but costs 20 leva per day so you need to include this in your budget.
The Level Upgrade - private pool, smaller and separate restaurant with same food. Main attractions are next to the bigger pool so it is worth it if you want to relax away from noise. Also seems they have enough sun beds there.

Very bad, pure waste of money! Unprofessional staff, food miserable! Rip off high 10 costs everything extra at all inclusive it is unkempt and dirty! We went on 2 excursions .... 1 Dolphinarium (which is pure cruelty to the animals is not there that is bad to see) 2.Jeepsafari where you just drive in a too narrow car through the dirty country and makes 10 stops in filthy villages ! In one way, how the hotel got 5 stars is really a mystery to me! I would generally not fly to Bulgaria because this country can offer a really nothing!
