Terrible customer service. I had to call them twice just to have them come out and do a free estimate. I don't know many companies that wont call a customer back when the customer is the one who contacts them for a full ac and furnace replacement. They came and did the estimate and and said they'd get back to me in a week. A week went bye and didn't hear anything from them so I called them and was transferred to a voicemail and never heard anything back. I couldn't imagine how terrible their response time would be for a warranty service call that they aren't getting paid for if they don't have ANY sense of urgency to get work. If only I could give a zero start....

I was quoted $130 more then what Augusta plumbing quoted and did it for. They could not give me a detailed description on how much the part costed or how much labor was. Tread carefully on how some these companies are making there qoutes as they may be all drastically different on pricing
The engineer was on time and had the problem diagnosed right away. He showed me the defective part and had the replacement available right in his service van. AC was back up and running in no time flat.
I don't even call around anymore. When I need service, I just make one call to Mechanical Energy Systems. They're priced the same, sometimes better, than anywhere else I've tried, but... they come out to my home the same day and do an exceptional job. When they leave, everything is clean and they never do more than necessary. They don't hound me and try to sell me appliances I don't need, like another place does here in St. Cloud. Very pleased with their professionalism.
6/7/19 - Another 5 stars. Called early this morning and reported that my A/C isn't working. Same day service on a hot day. They showed up, diagnosed the problem and fixed my 20 year old A/C unit without trying to sell me a new one. As the technician said, "replace it when it needs to be replaced." Very reasonable price and top notch service.
I've used MES 3-4 times: Twice for electrical, once or twice for simple HVAC tune-ups. I have no complaint about the quality of their work, which I would rate 5 stars. My review is lower due to negative customer service issues with Tony, who has proven disinclined to return a phone call when an issue arises after the work is done & the bill paid. This happened twice with me, so doesn't seem coincidental.
My first electrical job was switching out the original 2-prong outlets in my house with 3-prong. Code requires a permit for this work, which MES did not draw. Code also requites GFCI outlets in each room now, plus an arc fault GFCI placement.
After the work was complete, outlets in every room were tripping regularly in a round-robin fashion. This outcome was unexpected and irritating. Sometimes I'd turn on my bedroom overhead light and the television in the living room would go off, none of which happened prior to the upgrade.
I waited several weeks to see if the electrical would "settle" before calling Tony to ask if he could explain what was going on. When I didn't hear back after a week, I left him a second message and called the electrical inspector for the City of St Cloud for advice.
The inspector told me that a permit should have been pulled, then went to great lengths to describe how "sensitive" the new arc fault GFCI outlets are, and said tripping could come from anywhere, even sources totally unrelated to the outlets -- an overhead fan motor, or a lamp with old wiring, or anywhere within the house's wiring. The sensitive nature of these outlets seems well-known by electrical professionals, but the problems they cause are mysteriously difficult to pinpoint and correct.
Tony returned my 2nd call, said he had been busy and forgot to call back, which -- coming a week later as an official response from a business -- is weak. Customers love hearing their matter isn't important enough to jot down a reminder to get back to them.
For the next year, I lived with regular tripping throughout the house as if that's just the way it was going to be.
A year plus later, I decided to change most of my light switches because the bedroom switch regularly turning off the TV in another room was clearly connected. The MES electrician was excellent, but when that job was complete, the arc fault GFCI in one of the bedrooms started tripping every day, multiple times per day, beginning the day the switches were changed, rendering the electrical flow to that room almost useless. Again, I waited almost 3 weeks hoping something would correct itself in the circuitry before calling Tony.
When I didn't hear back from Tony the day I called, I called the St Cloud inspector instead of waiting around. The inspector came to my house 2 days later (Tony still hadn't called by then). The inspector put his GFCI tester in an old-style GFCI outlet in the bathroom which tripped an outlet in another room. He told me the problem could be anything, and said he'd contact Tony to replace the apparently faulty arc fault GFCI.
Turns out, unbeknownst even to the inspector, by inserting his tester in the old bathroom GFCI outlet, it corrected the entire house-wide tripping problem. From that point forward, even though I wouldn't realize it for a couple of days, all tripping stopped completely in all rooms, and has stayed that way so far. I doubt anyone could explain what has happened, or why.
5 days after the inspector's visit, Tony texted me in the 6am hour -- he sure tries to avoid direct contact -- to schedule the outlet replacement. I informed him the inspector had solved the problem.
I still have other electrical work but will look for a different company. Tony is a master electrician and a grown man, but his aversion to problem-solving strikes me as boyish and timid. When I called to set up the work, he was returning calls immediately & having my calls forwarded to his cell. I appreciate that the City inspector made himself available where Tony/MES was not able to.
As a new homeowner I wanted piece of mind having a new thermostat installed. I reached out and was very pleased about the communication. They showed up, the install went great. The technician Tony was extremely polite and professional. I would gladly use their service again.
Excellent service. I called the day before and they walked me through troubleshooting over the phone and it was something that a tech needed to come out for. They came out the very next day! The technician was friendly and knowledgeable when asked questions. I will definetly be servicing our hesting and air through them when needed!
The response to my call was less than 10 minutes. The problem was taken care of quickly. The price was less than I expected. Our heat was back to normal.
Edit: Dan from the company reached out to me and apologized for the office and mismatched billing that was sent. The price difference was refunded. The service itself was fabulous and the tech was great. I m glad I was able to speak with Dan to get everything sorted out. My original review is still below, but overall my review is: great work and labor, office staff needs a little fine tuning.
Bummed to have read all the good reviews here, had them come do a job and then have to leave a 1 star review. I needed an on/off valve placed on the gas line going to my stove and needed a new water line to the refrigerator. They said it would take about 4hrs and cost about $400 if it actually took the full 4 hours. The plumber came and did a fantastic job and was done in just under 2 hours, he gave me the write up for labor, parts, etc and it came out to be about $250, which seemed reasonable and more inline to what I figured it would actually take to complete. A week later got a bill in the mail for $400+. My husband and I both called on multiple occasions to discuss what happened and why they were charging us for time and labor that has actually not been provided. We were given the run around, talk to this person, no talk to this person, etc. then while trying to figure out the bill, we got hit with late payment fees. No one ever answered any of the concerns or questions but we finally just paid the bill to be done with the company and promised to never use them again. Awful office staff to work with.
I woke up with no heat with an outside temp of-15*. I called, Jenna answered and she said they could be out the earliest by 1pm. They should up at 11:30am! Cody diagnosed the issue and was back from the shop within 30 minutes. Happy to say it's fixed and my house is heating back up. So thankful they were able to fix my issue in such a short notice!
When I had my fall furnace check done my Mechanical Energy man found a leaky water heater. My warranty would have soon expired if it had gone any longer so Thank You!
I cannot say enough good things about Tony and his team and how they saved me!!!! I bought a hot tub in early July and called several extremely well-known and reputable electricians in St. Cloud (one of which I have worked with multiple times in the past). I was repeatedly deferred by those companies and was frustrated with the lack of help and communication I received. I called Mechanical Energy Systems and talked to Tony and he was extremely responsive. Not only did he contact me right away but he also came out the next day and helped me understand different options for placement of my hot tub that we re best for wiring access, but he also worked me into their busy schedule for the very next week! (I waited over a month for other companies to even return my call). Tony arrived the following week ahead of his crew s arrival. He explained to them everything I needed and where I wanted it. They were incredibly professional and were diligent with their work and cleaning up after the job. What other companies weren t able to do in over a month, Tony fixed for me in under a week! I hired mechanical energy to do some electrical work on my house and my future shop. Tony Laduke was the person i worked with to get everything set up. Tony did a great job from start to finish. Not only was he fast to respond, provide estimates and get his crew out but his followup after they were finished was outstanding. There was a minor issue with one of the tasks his crew did but Tony took care of it immediately after i made him aware. I will definitely be calling him again for my next electrical project.
Today we had our annual maintenance of our furnace and air conditioner. Macoy did just an excellent job on both (no shortcuts) but I really appreciated not only the work, but also explaining their regular air and furnace maintenance program they have. I've used Mechanical Energy a few times before (both service and installation) and all their personnel that we've dealt with were top notch service people. The program not only saves you money it provides piece of mind.

We hired MES for our hot tub install after getting estimates from two other companies. Tony was incredibly helpful and honest in giving us advice and different options for the hot tub and a couple extra outlets that we needed to alleviate some overload issues that we were having. He was more than willing to come out a second time when the project plans changed a bit and was in constant contact in order to coordinate the work with the hot tub delivery and set up. The two electricians that came out to complete the project were friendly, helpful and professional with us and the hot tub installers. They did great work and labeled everything that they did in the breaker box and showed me where everything was and how it worked and why it was installed. Hard to believe that this incredible customer service came at a FRACTION of the cost (estimate) of the other companies (literally less than one fourth the cost of one of their competitors). This is the second project that we have hired Mechanical Energy Systems for (had to move and rewire our A/C unit a few years back) and both times we were VERY happy with their work, customer service, and price.

I was having electrical issues in master bedroom. Came and diagnosed the problem quickly for a fair price. He could easily have told me I needed hundreds of dollars worth of repairs.
I got a quote because my blower motor went out. They said I also needed a new circuit board and quoted me 1800$ and said I might as well get a new hvac system. I called another company who got it for me half that price installed. Saved almost 1000$ going elsewhere.
Tony and his crew did a great job! Easy to get ahold of and very responsive. They did a wonderful job with the electrical work. Also, they are very friendly. I would highly recommend Tony and his crew for any electrical needs! We will for sure use their services in the future.
I gave 5 stars 2 years ago and have been using them for every service call on multiple rental properties. I changed my review to 1 star today. I don't appreciate being taking advantage of by sending 2 techs out on a service call that only requires 1 person and then being billed for 2. Tony fed my wife a lot of BS, claiming it would have taken twice as long with 1 guy. Sorry Tony, I work in the trades and that's not how it works. While Bob did work to lower our bill enough for us to agree to pay for it, I won't be using there services again. If you call for a service call, make sure to clarify they are only sending 1 tech, lesson learned.

Macoy showed up on time, found the problem very quickly, and took the time to explain what he did and why it was necessary. We received excellent service from a guy who makes you feel like family. I was able to get a service tech scheduled when needed. Very professional & accomodating. Excellent service! Dalton was very trustworthy, professional, detailed and thorough throughout the inspection of my furnace. Definitely will have Mechanical Energy Systems continue annual checks for A/C & furnace as well as any emergency repairs. I Only had one of those in the middle of a brutal cold snap & Mechanical Energy systems came right away. Today, Dalton represented the company well with knowledge, work ethic & professionalism. An excellent experience over all. I now feel safe & have peace of mind knowing a thorough job was done.and won t worry once winter hits our area. Interaction with other staff on phone & with other service techs has also been very positive.
We ve used the plumbing and electrical departments over the last couple of years and been extremely happy both times. When we ve contacted them regarding jobs we ve been interested in having done, they have been quick to respond and answered any questions we ve had. The technician arrived on time and was kind and courteous. Following completion of his work, he talked to me about scheduling the next visit in the spring to check the air-conditioning system. We also discussed using a different type of air filter.

I called right away at 8 am about an issue with my heating system. We have a very high tech system and knowledge in the area is very limited. Right away I was told associate will contact me on there way and by noon someone was at my home. The company was extremely honest and it was something in the settings, something so easy and simple but meant the difference of us having heat. The technician showed me and explained things, re set our system to the correct settings and was on his way. The company was extremely reasonable and honest with us during a time they could have taken advantage of us however that is not how this company operates!! Technician McCoy is very knowledgeable and helpful in describing diagnosis. He was here ahead of scheduled time (called for permission before arrival). Needed parts for a pressure tank replacement for boiler and Mechanical Energy had an employee to run parts out so technician could complete the fix.

I recently had Mechanical Energy Systems complete both Electrical Lighting and Plumbing services at my home. My furnace failed on a very cold October evening. I called Mechanical Energy Systems at 8 AM the next morning and before 10:30 service technicians Bryan and Cody were at my home. They quickly identified the cause of failure and also what parts were near the failure point, likely to cause more heating failures in the not so distant future. They clearly explained their findings in a professional and easy to understand manner. They presented different options to get heat back into my house, explaining the pros and cons of each option. I feel I was able to make an educated furnace repair decision based on their guidance. Both Bryan and Cody were professional, knowledgeable and very clean in their work and my house. Overall, a very good experience in an unpleasant situation.

Nice professional website - I used the online contact form later in the evening for an electrical repair and had an email response that same night with the electrician and continued communication through the next day which was a holiday. Tech was on time, and seemed to work hard to complete the furnace check. I would have appreciated a little more time with him, but I was sick (which I told him), and understand him wanting to move on. He did adjust the fan noise which I asked.

I would highly recommend mechanical energy systems for electrical work. I recently had my garage rewired as it was poorly done when i bought the house. Tony is great to deal with and the guys did a superb job on the install. Their work is very clean,fast and rhe price was very affordable. Wish i would have not waited this long!!!

We have used Mechanical Energy Systems previously for ac installation, sewer work, and most recently for the plumbing and electrical work for a new dishwasher. They have been very efficient throughout the entire process and were able to give us a quote and have the work all finished within a week.
