A good place for a vacation. Great restaurants , pools , friendly help. Don't go to the free breakfast, high pressure sales, that will last all day. Just say NO when they ask. You will have a good time there, lots to do.

It's a really nice place and the resort is well maintained. If you stay here though don't even think of going through their presentation. They don't understand no. Other than that it's a nice place to stay.

The staff are the absolute nicest people on Earth. The resort is immaculate. I plan on returning every year. It is a very large resort, it can take some time to get to your destination. Shuttles are available, but my wife and I enjoyed walking along the wooden pathways, some of which are 15 feet in the air amidst the canopy. Highly Recommend.

Don t EVER come here unless you like to be taken advantage of and have unauthorized personnel enter your room when you re not in it. They also hound you when you get in from the airport to do time share presentations. The transportation here is horrible and you have to wait to get to where you are going for the next train. They run every 20 mins or so. It is not possible to drive your car around the property unless it is to give to valet. They charge a 75.00 resort fee and they charge you to part your car 25.00. They scam you when you are at restaurants and so all they can to make more money from you. We expressed our concerns to management and all he cares about is making money for the company and not about the people staying at the resort. There are PLENTY OF BETTER CHEAPER RESORTS YOU CAN STAY AT AND SAVE MONEY AND TIME. We went on a tour to Chichen Itza ant it took us one hour to get out of the hotel. This is because you have to call 30 min before you leave so valet can get your car and then you have to wait for trains to pick you up. The rooms are not clean and STINK, STINK, STINK. It you like mold, then this is the place for you. MANAGMENT SUCKS HOUSE KEEPERS WERE MORE PLEASANT

I repeat the beaches are public, every national person can enjoy them, they are not private and this is by presidential decree: they are reminded that there will be very strong sanctions for denying access to any person.

Great resort. We got a free ride from the Cancun International Airport to the resort. The bellman met is at the Central Lobby and put our luggage into a covered luggage cart that he then proceeded to lock it. He filled out a receipt for us. Then we caught a tram to our hotel. We got registered and proceeded to our room. It was a nice and clean room. Our bellman showed up with our luggage.

All of the people were extremely courteous and helpful. Our waiter in Salum, Josue Santos Olgun, went above and beyond to make sure that we were well taken care of.

The only problem that we encountered was that the bars didn't open until 5:30pm, except for the Beach Club and because we weren't staying at the correct hotel we couldn't go there.

I had a Interval International voucher and choose the Mayan Palace because of the pictures . The property and the room was very beautiful but it is a haul from downtown! When I arrived I was told I own an additional hotel fee ($7 PER PERSON PER NIGHT) and a nightly tax ($9.75 a night) in additional to the $275 I paid for the voucher.
If you are planning on coming here you may want to bring a few books because they do not have many activities or live bands. I think they had a poker and bingo for one evening but other than that there is nothing to do besides sit on the beach or by the pool. They did have a nice buffet style restaurant with great service that was fairly reasonable but other than that plan on spending A LOT of money on food and beverages. There are no restaurants close by so you're stuck eating there unless you want to drive the 30-40 downtown. The Mayan and the Grand Mayan are connected and you can eat at any of the several restaurant and bars but they will not allow you to use the pool at the Grand Mayan side. This seemed a little odd to me because our room was literally right next to the pool on the Grand Mayan side.
Overall I would not recommend staying at either. I would rather stay in one of the resorts downtown where you have plenty of things to do and restaurants to choose from.

Horrible vacation. High pressure sales pitch to buy a timeshare when you check in and if you refuse they CALL YOUR ROOM to keep harassing you
Booked two tours there in the hotel through their tour company- one was okay, the other was interrupted by a thunder and lightning storm that flooded the road and parking lot with the deluge. Rather than being respectable and offering a partial refund or another day, we were instructed to either tour the ruins in the rain and lightning or wait on the bus. Then afyer wasting our ENTIRE afternoon, they droped all the other people of first, finally getying us back to our hotel over 2 HOURS late.
Finally, the room was horrible. Ants the persisted the entire week, unsatisfactory cleanliness (including finding trash in the room's drawers when checking in), a staff that IGNORES do not disturb signs, trams on the resort that follow no discernible schedule, and out of date signage (old names still up for places like restaurants) that confuse people and gets them lost on the winding paths. The walking map on the app rhat they supply works only intermittently because of the poor resort wide WIFI and seems more interested in selling you things then giving you good directions.
DO NOT GO HERE! You will be wasting your time and money on an unsatisfying trip

Customer service never replies to complaints, you only receive automatic responses someone will contact you after 3 emails and 18 days as guest at the complex still waiting for response. Vidanta shows five stars on excellence, well the people in maintenance, cleaning, food & entertainment certainly do their best, but when you complain for an error in their system nobody and I mean nobody solves the problem and people at desk they only work here they said we need to charge you more on a reservation paid and confirmed by them, because the system was wrong and you have to paid even though it was their mistake, they do not here any reason. Your only option is take it or leave it, and what do you do if you are already at the complex. I found this unprofessional and against the Vidanta policies, meanwhile customer service is no we here to be seen. As soon as they have your money they do not care if you are a satisfied client or not.

To be a recognized and expensive hotel, parking is the worst, you must go to the central lobby to leave and receive your car, it has a cost of 100 pesos a day and does not include a tip, so if you leave the hotel staff The valet parking is annoying if you do not tip and it makes you look bad, they only give you the keys to walk to your car .... that is also in the place where they can park it ..... to go to your hotel you must wait for the transport car standing, in the central lobby that during the day takes 5-10 min, but at night it can take up to 25 min, and as not everyone can take you to your hotel , then if the indicated one passes you must wait more.

Situated 30 min south from the airport and 30 min north from Playa del Carmen, it's the ideal location to have options. You could enjoy the resort life: get a Cabana by the pool, have some lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants available or tan on their private beach. You could also easily take a shuttle to lovely Playa del Carmen and enjoy shopping and eating there. The resort is constantly getting maintenanced and is well taken care of with great vibes. Strongly recommend.

It was great. Rooms nice. Pools are salt water and clean. The people very pleasant and helpful. My only complaint is the bath tubs are designed for short people. If you are 6 foot tall or taller you will find the showers more suitable and the beds are not for tall people either.
