The hotel is beautiful is an ideal place to rest and for those who do not want to leave the hotel there are many activities and the staff is very friendly. inconveniences you have to walk or take a train to go to the pools or the beach and the latter is not able to swim. If you want to go out and know places, it may not be the best option

The hotel consortium in which the hotel is located is huge (Grupo Vidanta). In general the facilities are fine and the hotel is nice. However, my experience was not what I expected, the beach is full of rocks, without a special shoe it is difficult to get into the sea. The property is so big that to get to the pool you must walk at least 10-15min round trip. In the gym they do not let anyone under 18 enter, my son is 16 years old and could not exercise. There is no transportation that takes you to the entrance (Maingate) before 8am, when the Tours you hire mostly pass by you at 6:30 am, 7am, etc. depending on your destination, which makes you walk and walk and walk almost a kilometer ... without counting what you had already walked from your room to where the internal transportation goes, consider several more meters. During my stay they were maintaining the lobby of my hotel, which made me walk around the stairs and the materials with which the maintenance workers were working. As if that were not enough, in the end there was a day that we ran out of water throughout the building and we had to walk and walk and walk to another building where they lent us a room to bathe us, the fault was corrected. The hotel has good things like the animals that post, the pool and other things, but sometimes the little disposition in the service of its employees and the wide or enormous distance between its attractions deserves the experience. It is an expensive hotel, in the cost of lodging not so much, but in food, drinks and rental of cots if! What you do not pay in an all-inclusive, you pay in several extras that you have to hire or pay at the hotel.

It is a very nice hotel but very expensive, they have a European concept and they invite you to a buffet breakfast to invite you to buy a membership in your hotel and if not the shopping ends up being very rude and they threaten you that you will not go back into your hotel, because since you register you take your data.

This is the worst vacation I have ever been on. To start with we were held captive by the hotel until we agreed to buy into the place. It costs 22.00 American dollars for a breakfast buffet that comes free at most hotels. We cook a lot in the room because of diabetic concerns, I advised they should equip the rooms with a dishwasher and I was told that's what maid service is for. Well the maid service does NOT wash dishes! They work very hard at keeping you on the property and it costs 100.00 American dollars to go to town (one way). Our first night here we went to a cafe on the grounds and was not so politely told to go someplace else! Our ac broke and had to spend the night in Hell. The only good thing I can say about the place is the pool areas are very beautiful. We will never come back here and are sorry we did this time. Let me also add that we are NOT hard to please.

It's 4:28 PM. No maid service yet. Upstairs suite was being remodeled this am. Room service left overs remain on last nights table. Virtually impossible to move around with the use of their trams. Wrist bracelet key makes you a mark for any street hustler. Pools very nice, jungle fauna amazing despite the sweltering heat. Not even close to 5 stars as of this writing. Book a room after July is what I'm thinking, if I ever return.

Not being partners Vidanta and come by RCI we do not have all the benefits for example we are far from the pool or pool we are 7 blocks or 750 m, we do not have a good wifi and it is only for 3 devices, we have to pay the daily parking as well as a daily fee per person per day. On the other hand the departments are comfortable and spacious. The pool is nice but the beach of the complex is horrible!

We loved the property and the Myan Palace. It was beautiful and very clean. All of the staff was just beyond nice. Our housekeeper Monica was outstanding and super sweet. She took care of all of our needs, kudos to this wonderful woman. We had no one bother us with any type of sales purchases. I have read many complaints on that and we did not experience that at all. We did not wait at all for the shuttles the longest we waited was maybe 5 min but the resort is so beautiful and so much to look at we did not mind at all. We found the shuttles very easy to use and we did get lost a couple of times on the walk ways but that was ok too because we were able to see more of the property. The lemurs were awesome to see playing In the woods and the iguanas are just my favorite. The water park was empty, maybe because the water was like an ice bath very cold and by the way you cannot bring in any outside food. The Salum was really cool and had my first Churro, oh boy was that good. Booked 2 excursions. My wife scuba dived one day and loved it and the 2nd was a sunset catamaran snorkel cruise which we were so displeased with, we asked for a refund. It was an 18 yr old drunk fest. The crew poured these kids so many shots and drinks they could barely get off of the boat and NO I will repeat NO sunset was to be seen until an 1 later as we were taken the ferry back to Playa del carmen. We booked this through the excursion desk at the Mayan Palace lobby. I complained and complained and sent 6 emails and no one has gotten back to us and I even emailed from their lobby and had Fernando look to make sure the email address was correct. The beach was nice but there are so many rocks you could not go in past your ankles. Tip.. buy your groceries at the Mega not the Walmart because it is a long walk from Walmart to the shuttle with all of the groceries. We had a great vacation except for the sunset cruise.

The Mayan palace is very nice. we loved all the amenities that we could take advantage of. The staff was all very friendly and always helpful. The one complaint we did have was the transportation between places on the huge campus sometimes took longer than wanted, and we would resort to walking instead of waiting. Our room was slightly outdated (mostly the bathroom tub) but it was still nice.

I have been coming here 14 years and it used to be good. Now they built the grounds up into a prison so you cannot escape this place in less than 30 minutes. They force you to spend your money here, which is completely overpriced and never leave. $20 for a hamburger and fries at the pool for lunch, and it isn't worth 5 bucks especially here. I'm an owner and I won't be back ever again. Be warned, Sad...

We stayed at the Mayan Palace resort during the Christmas break and it was a different experience from our earlier trips. For one, this resort is HUGE! We ended up staying the jungle area of the resort and you have to take a tram to get anywhere, which adds another 15-20 minutes one way to your trip. We had the 1 bedroom suites and they were fantastic. The service was impeccable in the rooms. The beach is pretty much non-existent, rocky and unswimmable. You will spend more time in their meticulously landscaped billion swimming pools. And that does not make up for the fact that their timeshare sales staff will rip you off any chance they get. So many of the guests we spoke to had the same bad experience as us. Avoid if you can find another resort. Otherwise skip the timeshare presentation.

Too large. Staff is friendly, but I prefer to stay at a smaller place where you don't have to walk 12,500 steps a day to get around. (Not kidding, tracked our steps) not recommended for handicapped or small children. ( In my opinion)

Very nice the stay, the staff is very professional in every way, I put 4 stars for the way in which the parking for guests is handled, you lose a lot in time in transfers when you need to use your car I think they can improve it. The gardens, the pools, the rooms, the staff ... everything al !!

The quality of the staff is superb! The beach is private, the biggest pool with 2 swim up bars, so many restaurants and places to shop! Would definitely recommend and would stay again. If you aren't accustomed to jungle, bring bug spray.

You can not say that it is an ugly place as it is a luxury resort, the staff is very friendly but I was left to owe a lot on food, schedules and price. The portions of food were always small and very expensive since there were few dishes that were worth most are completely forgettable. On all occasions it took a long time to arrive and I did not get up early on vacation and they only have options from 8 to 11 for breakfast and dinners at 11 as well, there is nothing left. Because of the distance and the price, there should be more options since not even the room service contemplates all the dishes after that time. Thanks but that chain is not for me
