The place is very big, so you need transportation to go to the pool, the bad thing is that they take a long time to arrive, and most of the time, the car / train is filled and there are still people waiting.
To go to jewel (Cirque du Soleil) the same. We had about 60 people waiting, the cart passed and more than half of the people were waiting. The facilities are very nice .... But the beautiful does not take you fast to where you want to go .... Added to that as it is in the middle of the jungle, in 5 minutes the mosquitoes eat you ....

Beautiful hotel, excellent pools, however the beach has a lot of stone that could remove the complex because the tide and sand allows it; as well as they could remove the sargassum from their beaches daily and thus position themselves better to other hotels in the region, or put meshes between each hut they have and thus avoid the abundant passage of sargassum and thus they will collect less. Impeccable service as in the other resorts in the country

A great place to vacation. Only my recommendation for Vidanta would be to take care of the cleaning details of the Mayan Palace category rooms compared to those of Grand Luxx and Grand Bliss.

Great location: pretty close to both Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The beach isn't great (lots of sea algae and rocks) but the pools are huge and fabulous. Great customer service and breakfast buffet at the Havana Moon was well worth ~$15 USD (especially since we ate so much it basically served as two meals).

I've been here twice and am already planning next year's vacation. I see a lot of complaints about the timeshare experience. You just have to say No you will not do it. They did not Hassel me at all.just tell them you're married and your spouse isn't with you. They will leave you alone as they can't sell you something if you are married and there "without" your spouse.the ribeye at Havana Moon restaurant was melt in your mouth.

Your experience may depend on where you get roomed, but the resort is absolutely beautiful and cleanly. Everything is relatively accessible, and the staff are always helpful and kind. Your experience will vary with what you want to do. You can dine in at the many restaurants in the resort, or hit up a market and bring in stuff to make your own meals. It's a place where it's easy to relax

The place is beautiful, it's sooooo big, nice pools, nice atmosphere ... you have to be patient with the transport that takes a little and late at night takes much longer, but in general it is a very beautiful and relaxing place, perfect to rest a couple of days !!

General maintenance is needed in the rooms of the grand mayan palace, the sofa beds are torture, and the mattress in the main room is a marshmallow, it does not support. The attention of most of the staff, VERY GOOD. From what I saw, the safety and hygiene rules for the pandemic, very good, unlike a hotel I stayed in days before.

Although the grounds and rooms are impressive, the slow transportation getting from one point to another, the hassle of waiting for the forced valet parking and obnoxious sales pressure is a negative. Just say no to the presentation.

They are unclear with internal politics. It has no price / quality ratio. The rooms are not how they are published or sold. Internet access is limited to only three (3) devices per unit, they DO NOT clarify when checked in. The price for renting cars is expensive. It has NO relation with traditional agencies. The bathrooms are NOT good, rather old and deteriorated. The parking has an extra charge that is charged as they want to NOT respect the stays or stay for 24 hours. Friendly staff with a courtesy little seen in other hotels ... I will surely NOT return for this hotel inside the Vidanta Complex.

Mayan Palace is one of 4 hotels in The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Riviera Maya. There are 4 pools with great design. The reputation of Mayan Hotels is distinguished by the great respect of employees and nature around the site. moving on the site is special, wooden sidewalks on stilts, the forest that surrounds the site that is in harmony with the place. Only downside, coral in the ocean, so bring rubber.

I am staying here currently, and will be here (unfortunately) for three more days. Let me start by saying the low level staff (bellhops, waitstaff and maids) were amazing and bent over backwards to help us.
That is the ONLY bright spot of this hellhole.
-Despite booking a room near the beach, we were placed in a building almost as far from everything as possible.
- shuttles are infrequent and overcrowded.
- you can't request a shuttle to come get you from your room.
- they ensure that leaving is almost impossible unless you pay exorbitant travel fees. We had to endure ridiculously long walks to get to the gates and the staff refused to call is shuttles to get back when we returned to the property
- we were told this wasn't a timeshare property, then we're promptly ambushed on our arrival by a salesperson trying to sell us a membership
- they stated bottled water would be provided, then charged 35 pesos a bottle
- our room had damage on our arrival
-the cost of food and drink is literally 10x the cost of outside the resort. I understand some markup but it ridiculous
-no mention was made of the mandatory $1000 USD deposit per room. Luckily we had our credit cards.
- you are requrired to present a special card to get a towel from the pool, that you can only get at the lobby a kilometer away, and they don't give you at check in
-any time we had an issue, suddenly no one can speak English
- this has been an overpriced waste of a precious family vacation. Thank you Mayan Palace and Vindata for ruining it. We will never be back

For a series of lucky connections, I was able to stay for two weeks from March 17th to March 31st 2019 at your Mayan Palace with a couple of friends. Many years I take advantage of the exchange with INTERVALL INTERNATIONAL and I must say that I was able to travel around various Caribbean islands in very beautiful residences.
Yours, however, is out of competition.
The greatness, the beauty, the cleanliness, the courtesy, the efficiency of the staff, the perfect integration with nature, the super-equipped beach, the immense swimming pools, the animals that live there etc., represent the perfect HOLIDAY for a person like me .
I wanted to congratulate all the staff that helped make this stay more beautiful.
The only negative thing will be the impossibility of finding a place like this in the future.
Thank you so much for making this wonderful residence.
Congratulations.

The hotel very well but the cost of consumption is excessively expensive, restaurants, drinks in the pool and super things and to leave is a mess, you have to wait for the cart that takes you to the main lobby for which they are made several stops and then you have to order the car and wait another time. Everything is designed to let you go out and consume inside but the prizes are too expensive. The recommendation is to arrive with everything you need since the rooms have a kitchen, that if you already rubbed in the pool, they do not accept cash, everything is with a card.

Comfortable beach + lots of lounge chairs. Great service - don't even have to leave your spot to eat or drink ., If you choose not to. Very large pool close to the beach. Activities. Only problem - you need water shoes to go out into the sea to swim - lots of rocks

Its a (money sponge) they charge you for everything $30 a night extra per person for room fee above and beyond what you paid for the room when you booked your vacation. For two people three weeks was an extra $1,300 and that's for only two people think if you brought a family with. 100 pesos a night to park your car in their lot they are in the middle of nowher.e so you cannot walk to Cancun or Playa de Carmen the buses do not stop there, you need to take cab or a personal shuttle which runs about $40 one way sometimes you can get one for $30 the place is huge you need to take a tram to go from one end to the other which means a lot of waiting around for a tram to show up that's going in the same direction you want to go

The room is nice, although musty- smelling. The property is beautiful and vast. Transportation is provided around the property. It's a bit remote, as well. The time-share presentation, which they cleverly trick you into takes about 3 hours, including breakfast.

Stayed at Mayan Palace, Riviera Maya from December 21st thru December 28th, 2017. Wasn't sure what to expect after reading the reviews, we were pleasantly surprised and very impressed. So what you have to walk a little bit, it was great to stretchour legs after eating great food.
We brought some snacks and planned to take a trip to the Mega.....didn't need to. The store at Jade was great for water and fresh fruit. We did the tour to take advantage of the free breakfast buffet. Dinner at the Havana moon a few nights and we ventured into playa del carmen to shop, sight see and grab some authentic mexican food.
The resort is massive, very lush and green, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, cleaned daily and housekeeping staff were very accommodating!
The resting quarters or rooms are separate from the main lounge/lobby and they use a team system. It worked out well, we were in bldg 17 and our typical wait time was 10-15 at the most...some people were impatient, I think because we're used to walking out the front door in getting into our vehicles or at a resort where you take the elevator down to the main lobby, walk across the floor and your outside at the pool and on the beach.
The pool was "OUTSTANDING" the largest I've ever seen, which was great because my major complaint was the beach...very Rocky! Beautiful views, wonderful grounds, exceptional customer service and Great food.
I traveled with my 2 sister's, my daughter and her friend. Everyone had a great time and would go back again.
Keep in mind that your on vacation and go with the flow!!!!Enjoy!!

We appreciate the beauty of the place and the courtesy of the employees. The food was great and the transport organization was very efficient. We enjoyed the beach although with many rocks but the pools replaced the sea water very well. Overall, we live a memorable experience.

Of the Vidanta complexes this is the most disorganized. Transportation is slow, the spa is saturated and there are dress codes everywhere. The beach club is also unattended. The best area is the infinite pool where you have to take care of the invasions of iguanas!

Too many bugs in room, the trolley situation needs to be worked on. We had to calculate 30min to our travel just to get to front taxi area. And it's longer on busy times from pool to room waiting for trolley to be available. Nice pool, nice staff, great cleaning of rooms.
