Jon was extremely knowledgeable and although there wasn t an issue that needed their services he still took the time to explain what we needed to do to ensure there wasn t a future problem. And he drove all the way to Three Hills! I would absolutely recommend them!

I called Matrix Remediation for Mould that I found in my basement. I called a few companies. Matrix was the first to come and provide the most competitive quote. Both Vince and Jon were extremely responsive and provided a detailed & professional quote. Nawaz and Phamy arrived the next day. They were polite, professional and knowledgeable. They searched for the cause of the mould and concluded that the source of the mould was due to a water leak from the water tank (which I replaced two weeks prior to their arrival). They handled all the hazardous material carefully and safely. They built a proper containment and used all the machinery required. They were suited and wore all the proper protective gear. When they completed the job, the place was left spotless. Following the remediation crew, the reconstruction crew followed. The level of finishing was very high and the individuals attended my home came on time and were clean and polite. We were dealing with smoke damage from caustic fumes from a fire. John at Matrix Remediation helped us understand what needed to be done, he provided options and the result is, our home has been cleared of the caustic fume smells and is odor free. Guy and team came into remediate mold in our roofline after we had developed attic rain. From start to finish communication was clear, the team showed on time, and work was completed exactly as specified. Sorry to see that some had negative experience with Matrix, but that was not ours. In particular, Nawaz & Ghirmay were amazing. They both went ABOVE AND BEYOND to meet our needs and fully remediate all of the damage.
Save yourself some grief and avoid this contractor at all costs. Matrix Remediation was assigned to do some repairs to our flooring a couple of months ago which turned out to be one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a contractor. We dealt directly with the owner, Guy Price, who basically wasted our time giving lie after lie delaying the repairs for almost 6 months for reasons still unknown to us. Initially we were foolish enough to trust that he was actually trying to get the work done, but after the 20th excuse we started to get suspicious. One reason he gave was he was having trouble sourcing the hardwood flooring. We did a 2 minute google search and found it in stock in Calgary from a store only a couple of minutes from where we live. After telling Guy about it, he promised to put the order in and schedule the work. Guess what? He never called the flooring company. When confronted with this, he flat out lied and said he would get on it and even scheduled the repairs to be done the following week. The day of the repairs (for which we had to take a day off work), no one shows up to do the work, and when we called the flooring company he hadn't even ordered the floorboards. This is just one of many ways he lied to us and wasted our time, making us even doubt our own sanity since we couldn't believe how one person could keep lying the way he did. What confused us the most was that if he didn't want to do the work, he could have said from the get go that he wasn't interested and to have another contractor complete the job. It's inexplicable why he strung us along for months saying he'd do the repairs when all evidence would show that he wasn't going to. If you have the option, go with someone else; our encounter with Guy Price was very unprofessional and it would be difficult for anyone to trust someone who lied as easily as he did.
The first sign that we had mould was a slight discoloration on the insulation in our basement. After that there was a unusual smell. We called Matrix and ask them to come over and take a look. Guy price and a couple of workers who did siding came and looked at our basement and found some minor mould behind the insulation. They explained that if there is mould in our basement there must be a "paper problem." We all went outside and they pulled back some of the siding in one corner of the house. Sure enough, we discovered that the last 10 inches of one of the walls was not papered when the house was originally built. As they pulled away the old siding, other issues emerged. I was impressed by the professionalism and hard work done by the people Guy employed. Guy was flexible when it came to scheduling and worked around a holiday we planned in the middle of this job. A mold remediation company is not an organization you want to come to require more than once in your life, but I've been unlucky enough to require remediation twice. Guy came to review a personal property when mold was found during the real estate inspection during the sale. Guy was very good at finding solutions that considered my budget as much as possible while managing the cleanup to the satisfaction of the buyers.
A recent basement suite mold issue resulted from a tenant that didn't bother to let me know about a leak for months. Jon came out, three days later the crew was out, they were done in two days.

Recently I contacted Matrix to get a quote for remediating the mould in my basement bathroom. Guy and I negotiated a price that was within my budget and the work began. The workers arrived on time on the designated day and within 1/2 hour of their arrival Guy was also here to check with them. The workers completely removed all contaminated materials and contained the area for any transmission that might occur. At the end of the work they painted the contaminated surfaces with a white sanitizing paint. The paint has a pungent odor so I would recommend homeowners be aware of the need for ventilating the affected area for several days. During the remediation we also discovered a foundation crack and within a couple of days Guy was able to get workers in to repair that as well at a price I could accept. Now we are moving on to the restoration part and are negotiating the scope and price of that work. To this point I am satisfied with the work that has been done and the price I have paid. Matrix Remediation Complaint
If this post can save 1 PERSON the aggravation of dealing with Matrix Remediation it was worth it.
It started when we discovered that we had black mold in our attic. This is when we first went online and started researching mold remediation companies. Matrix Remediation had a great website and five star customer reviews priding themselves as being a Boutique company which specializes in remediation and takes all of the necessary steps to protect your family and home. Unfortunately we found out this was not the case, we are not happy and feel we were taken advantage of by Matrix Remediation.
We paid for a service and expected a certain amount of professionalism. Matrix s quote came in higher than any of the competitors, but after reading all positive online reviews and with Guy assuring us that his team would do it right the first time we decided to spend the extra money to have it done right! Matrix original proposal came in more than double any of his competitors. After discussing our maximum budget with Guy, he quickly made a reduction of costs to meet our budget, but he assured us that everything laid out in the original proposal would be included except for the disposal of the bagged up insulation.
Our issue with Matrix Remediation arose when we discovered how the remediation team dealt with the mold affected insulation from our attic. The proposal specifically outlined that the insulation and mold spores which his team had media blasted off our attic sheeting were to be bagged up IN the attic and would be contained from the rest of our living space through the use of a negative air pressure device.
It was at the point where the Matrix team made the decision to not properly bag the mold affected insulation in the attic and instead just drag it through our home/living space, exposing it to our couch, bed, blinds, walls, floors, dishes, kitchen etc. To top it off we specifically asked if we needed to cover our bed, and couch when they were starting the remediation, the team assured us that this was not necessary. When they left our home there was a layer of dust/spores on every item/horizontal surface. We were unsure how this was possible but after reviewing our security footage we quickly realized that the Matrix team hadn t removed the insulation in the proper manor outlined in their proposal and were blown away with the lack of care his team took while removing the contaminated insulation. Obviously I was concerned about having the contamination throughout our home and if Matrix cut corners in other areas of the remediation?
Guy had asked for the opportunity to make things right, which I can respect. He had offered to send a third party cleaner to our home 20 days after the work was performed, which was pointless because we were already exposed to the dangerous spores and immediately did a through cleaning once we discovered what had happened. He then offered a small portion of our money back, providing we signed his agreement releasing his company from any guarantee/warrantee for the work they provide at our home. Orignally we decided to go with Matrix because of this guarantee even though they were more expensive than any competitor. I cannot do this out of principle. This entire situation has been extremely unprofessional and upsetting. We paid for a service, which was not provided, Again I would rather save someone the hardship/aggravation of dealing with Matrix Remediation.

I interviewed five different companies to remediate our home in Bears Paw; Jon was the only person who listened to our needs.
