Customer service can be a bit robotic. Careless with oil change. Had a bad leak in my driveway because the bolt wasn t on tight enough.

I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone for your everyday car service needs. They dont even understand courtesy business. After all the times I've brought my car in they charge labor for putting in a windshield wiper...now just wonder how much they are charging for other little labor intensive services. The car buying experience doesn't have to be a nightmare. We have purchased 2 vehicles now through Mr. Bob Martin and his sales mgr Al. They have been pleasant, professional, flexible & responsive. We feel it's definitely worth the drive for the nice people, fair negotiations & large selection of vehicles.
A mess all around. Uninterested and unfriendly representatives/service managers, strange parking lot setup, 3 different customer service areas in the service area, etc. It's too bad they are the only Honda dealership nearby.

My husband and I just purchased a 2015 Civic and 2015 CR-V from Martin Honda. We worked with Ed McDowell, and he was great from the start. I originally called with some questions, and Ed was extremely patient and informative. The whole team at Martin Honda made the car buying process painless and really worked with us to keep us as close to our budget as possible.
We ended up staying at the dealership until almost 11pm, and at no point did we feel rushed. Ed even waiting for us to finish with all of the paperwork and spent time with both of us to explain the computer systems and sync our phones.
We were extremely happy with the level of customer service, and look forward to working with Martin Honda for routine maintenance, service, and our next vehicle purchases down the road!
We landed at Martin Honda due to unexpected car trouble on 95-South during our trek from South Jersey to Alexandria, VA. Fortunately, Kyle's assistance with getting my car repaired and safe to drive again made a bad situation much easier to swallow. He was professional, courteous, and made every effort to keep me in loop on the status of the repair. He even went above and beyond in helping to work with my insurance company regarding coverage and faster timelines. The cherry on top was his willingness to help provide complimentary transportation once I was able to get back to the Newark area, saving myself and my mom a lot of travel and headache. If it weren't for Kyle's exceptional customer service and knowledge, this unexpected situation could have been much, much worse. Can't thank them enough!

My boyfriend has been in the market for a new car and on a whim we decided to go look. We were greeted immediately by Ken. Ken, what a guy. This man made the car buying experience so stress free and even fun! immediately had us go for a test drive, gave us the fairest price he could and was transparent every step of the way. He even went the extra mile to call his personal insurance agent to see if he could help my boyfriend in getting a lower insurance rate (very high for young male drivers) and was patient with us while we debated what to do. Ken kept saying that honesty is what made him successful professionally but it's obvious that he operates ethically in all facets of life. To us, especially when buying a car, that speaks volumes. My Lady purchased a 2012 Honda fit from this place & was told after a negotiation for the vehicle to bring it back for a detail & REIMBURSEMENT of ga$ because it was literally on E. My "Lady" brought the car back on her lunch break Friday 12/13/19 only to be lied to about the car being WAXED in the rain . SERIOUSLY.. Smhl. Came back today 12/14/19 & was told to come back on Tuesday.. AGAIN. We'll see on this Tuesday if they'll do what they said they were. Ladies, if you're coming to buy a vehicle from this dealership be aware or bring a man with you because they will try to short-cut/cut-corners their way out of the job they chose to do.

Went here to deal with a recall. Was very slow registering because the computers were freezing up, but the guys were very apologetic. Apparently with service we had the option of a complimentary car wash. This is a review to warn others that they will leave your car dirtier and with more water marks than the last rain storm.

Purchased a brand new Civic at Martin Honda July 2018 and have had it serviced regularly, according to Honda's Maintenance Schedule, at Martin Honda ever since.
On Saturday 6/27/20 the car would not start, left me stranded and I had to get a ride home. The car is less than two years old.
Called Sunday and talked with reservationist Arianna, told her the car broke down and asked about having it towed to Martin to be repaired. Arianna told me there were no service appointments available until Wednesday.
When I explained how I felt that the car I bought at Martin and had regularly serviced at Martin had left me stranded and now Martin was telling me they couldn't do anything for 4 days Arianna said she would send a message to the service manager Ivan Loi to see what could be done. Ivan Loi, nor anybody at Martin, has ever contacted me.
I had the car towed to another garage and where they told me the battery died. The battery didn't last two years.
Dave Mckee at Martin Honda is an awesome salesperson. He treated me better than I expected, he didn t try and rush a sale; he was patient and gave me his undivided attention. This was our first and last time using this dealership. Just go for one service visit and you will understand why, their customer service skills are horrible. We made an appointment ahead of time to drop off the truck for service and the dealership called the next morning and did not have my husbands appointment. The estimated cost turned out to be significantly lower than the total cost due to a misquote. Also, the service manager must be an idiot. He called the house to discuss the approval for the work being done and didn't ask to speak to the truck's owner?? I asked the manager if he needed to discuss the issue with my husband who owns the truck and he said it does not matter!! It seemed like he was in a rush to just get whomever he could find to approve the repair, not caring if he spoke to the owner or not. He didn't even ask who he was speaking with. Very disappointing first time experience, recommend going somewhere else even though you might have to drive out of your way.

I am writing to tell you about the fantastic service I received from Robert Smith at Martin Honda Collision Center in Newark DE.
About 3 years ago I was rear-ended and I took my Honda Fit into Martin Honda to have repairs done to the back end, including the rear hatch door. A few months after the repairs were completed I had trouble opening the door -- the lock wouldn't work and I couldn't get into the car using that door. Robert had the service technician take another look, and they figured out the problem and fixed it.
This happened again about 6-8 months later, and then two more times. Each time Robert got my car right into service, fixed the problem and had me out again within an hour.
This happened again this summer, and I was unable to use my rear door for almost 3 months because I was unable to bring my car in during the hours Martin Honda is open. This time Robert got the door fixed, and also ordered a replacement latch. The part was received in 2 days, and it took less than an hour to replace.
Robert has always treated me with courtesy, and given me prompt service. He has never charged me again to look at this problem, even though it's been several years. I appreciate his dedication to doing his job well and taking care of his customers! I've been so grateful that he is has been working at Honda all this time and knows me, and this ongoing problem. I hate to think what would have happened if I had to explain all this to someone new and how expensive it might have been to fix this problem if the service manager didn't know the history and wasn't willing to work with me.
However, Robert might be the best thing about Martin Honda Collision. I tried calling the number that shows up on their website to get his supervisors name so I could send this as an email and it's the wrong phone number. Then I did the online chat and the person I was chatting with gave me a name and email of Robert's boss -- but it was someone who owns a dealership in NJ and has never heard of Robert. She also promised that someone would be in touch with me directly -- and never heard from anyone.
Anyway if you have a reason to use this place make sure you deal only with Robert Smith!

Martin Honda Parts department cut a key that destroyed my ignition lock cylinder on my Prelude and the dealership will not work with me to resolve this issue. I've owned 5 Civics, 2 Preludes and 1 Accord and have never been treated so poorly by a Honda dealership.

I recently purchased a vehicle from Martin Honda in Newark. I usually dread car shopping for its such a long, most times, exhausting process. However, I had the privilege of dealing with Mr. Bernell Mitchell and it was such a short and sweet process. I reached out to Bernell thru an advertisement of his. I made him aware of how stressed out I had been with my prev vehicle and how I wanted to definitely get into something else, but feared it wouldn't be so simple just due to my current situation. Bernell told me to come on in. We arranged a time for the next day. I went at the scheduled time in which Bernell was present and avail as he promised he would be. Told him my situation along and he assured me not to worry. That very same day, after NOT having sat in a car dealership all day, I left in my new ride. It wasn't just any old ride either. It was very satisfactory to what I was looking for. Actually exceeded my epectations. After that day I needed a few things as far as additional info, paperwork printed, as well as for him to be on call for things such as "how to work this and how to function that." Bernell was there every step of the way. He definitely was genuine in making me feel like a valued customer. In the future I will only purchase cars from Mr Mitchell. He was great!!! I was interested in comparing the Honda Accord EX-L V6 to a Mercedes C300 that I was considering.. I test drove the car with sales associate Ryan Snyder, and he did an exceptional job going through the sales process. Superb Customer Service! This is the only car dealership that my family and I trust to get a great vehicle! We worked with Mike Alderige and he did not pressure us into buying a vehicle and actually listened to what we wanted in a car! He was able to get my mom the perfect car for her and thoroughly explained everything so we understood all that was included in the car! English isn t my mother s first language but Mike explained everything in a way that we both understood! Honestly everyone at Martin Honda is so friendly and genuinely nice! We went to different car dealerships in the Newark and New Castle area and they were the most professional and nicest people! Ironically they did not have this car on the lot. He found me one and the dealership was unable to acquire it on their lot. The package that was agreed upon was a fair deal, trade in and rate. I had been hesitant about buying a car from Martin because of previous poor experiences with their service department, but I went to Martin to test drive the CRV EX. Kris greeted me at the door and was most helpful in explaining the car to me as we took the drive. He understood that I would not make a firm decision on that day, and if I did decide, I could not take possession for a few days. When I did go back to purchase the car, Kris took time again to explain all the bells and whistles and hook up my phone & IPod for this senior citizen. He made this buying experience very pleasant.

We have purchased 2 cars from Martin Honda and stopped by once when in the market for another car. Brett Smith was our sales person when we made our first purchase and was fantastic. I very much disliked car shopping, but Brett was perfect - helpful, informative, patient and not overly pushy. It was my daughter's first car to call her own and we couldn't have been more pleased. Her Honda Civic was a great car for her.
When it was time to replace the family Accord, we went back to Martin Honda and immediately asked for Brett. Once again, a professional and extremely smooth purchase. We wiill be back to see Brett again in the future!

I originally came into the dealership with the simple intent of learning more about the new Honda Accord from a technology standpoint as I haven't owned a newer car in nearly a decade. Ed McDowell was the one who assisted me, even though I was clear that my intent was not to buy at the time, he really took it slow and answered all of my questions and did it in such a way that you would hope, he was excited about each piece of technology which in turn makes me excited about it. We parted, I thanked him and he gave me his card.
Two months later I found myself right back in his office asking for him and he provided the same experience all over again. He has a very laid back demeanor and is not overly aggressive, which I think is to be desired in a salesman, because you feel like you have the time to make up your own mind. Ed is an extremely knowledgeable and gifted salesman, the questions I had he answered, the ones he didn't know he found the answers. He made the process seamless and simple for me, which I truly do appreciate because it shows he respects my time not just his own.
He even humored me and took a picture with me and my new car, thanks again Ed.
This wasn't my first experience buying a car but it was certainly my best, and I'd definitely look to buy from Ed again in the future!

Worst Honda experience I've ever gone through. My car happened to break down midway to DC, and brought it to Martin Honda to get the alternator fixed. We told them we were in a rush, and it was very important we kept going. I even called in before to set up an appointment, but when I got there, they didn't hear of any appointment and even gave us the cold shoulder. They ended up charging us quite an outrageous price for the alternator and said we needed a new battery. However, they said that they didn't have the parts in stock, and we ended up renting a car to get to DC. Also, it wasn't finished until two days later, and we said we were in a rush. Best thing out of all of this is, my car isn't starting. So the original problem wasn't fixed.
Long story short, overpriced, rude, and didn't solve our problems.
