I am writing to tell you about the fantastic service I received from Robert Smith at Martin Honda Collision Center in Newark DE.
About 3 years ago I was rear-ended and I took my Honda Fit into Martin Honda to have repairs done to the back end, including the rear hatch door. A few months after the repairs were completed I had trouble opening the door -- the lock wouldn't work and I couldn't get into the car using that door. Robert had the service technician take another look, and they figured out the problem and fixed it.
This happened again about 6-8 months later, and then two more times. Each time Robert got my car right into service, fixed the problem and had me out again within an hour.
This happened again this summer, and I was unable to use my rear door for almost 3 months because I was unable to bring my car in during the hours Martin Honda is open. This time Robert got the door fixed, and also ordered a replacement latch. The part was received in 2 days, and it took less than an hour to replace.
Robert has always treated me with courtesy, and given me prompt service. He has never charged me again to look at this problem, even though it's been several years. I appreciate his dedication to doing his job well and taking care of his customers! I've been so grateful that he is has been working at Honda all this time and knows me, and this ongoing problem. I hate to think what would have happened if I had to explain all this to someone new and how expensive it might have been to fix this problem if the service manager didn't know the history and wasn't willing to work with me.
However, Robert might be the best thing about Martin Honda Collision. I tried calling the number that shows up on their website to get his supervisors name so I could send this as an email and it's the wrong phone number. Then I did the online chat and the person I was chatting with gave me a name and email of Robert's boss -- but it was someone who owns a dealership in NJ and has never heard of Robert. She also promised that someone would be in touch with me directly -- and never heard from anyone.
Anyway if you have a reason to use this place make sure you deal only with Robert Smith!
