Marriott Niagara Falls Gateway Hotel on the Falls Review

Spend your money ELSEWHERE! Me and the wife aren't usually picky about things but when a room is almost $400 for a night, you kind of have to be. We use to think people were jerks writing bad reviews but now we're one of them. Just checked in 30 mins ago. Don't be fooled by the giant building and nice looking lobby. First room we checked into was gross. Room smelled funky, floors in washroom was dirty, tv area was dusty, toilet wasn't flushed and carpet wasn't vacuumed. We were promptly switched to a lower level room 3 floors down. When something like that happens you usually receive upgrades without even asking, not at this place. Room is very outdated, parking is an arm and a leg and wi-fi isn't free. The guest check in person was nice to deal with but that was about it. There's parking down the street for $5 all day! Should've paid the $100-200 more for Hilton on the falls or got a cheap hotel for a hundred bucks. We're nervous to even walk around the hotel room, let alone sleep in the bed. Now we're gonna get drunk and hope we can look past all of this. Unless there is an incentive to come back, we definitely won't be booking here again.

The staff are very polite and kind. I'm so impressed with the Fall's view is fascinating. The amenities are pretty good and the room is spacious and clean.

This place has an amazing view overlooking the falls. You can see the fireworks from the rooms at 10pm. The concierge lounge is small but the options for breakfast are great

Comfortable beds, great view. Only complaint was just how overpriced the whole city is.

The room was nice. However my room wasnt ready until 330pm. They also said they would call me when it was ready when first arrived at 10am, which they didnt. Also, the elevators took 10min at some times.

Our room was a suite. It was spacious and had a spectacular view. Only issue was the one sink in the washroom wasn't draining properly. Would definitely recommend this hotel for its view.

Absolutely nothing was included in the room. We had to pay for parking, TV, internet, etc. Will not be staying there again.

Rooms are nice. Very good view of the falls. Breakfast was not included though, and we had random charges put on our bill we had to ask to be removed. Besides those two things, the stay was enjoyable.

We had a room with a great view of the falls. The room was clean and the jetted tub made for a relaxing visit. Room was pricey and parking was NOT included. Neither was wifi. Staff friendly and helpful.

The first time in my life where I see a famous hotel like yours or there is no one who speaks French, Canada is bilingual if you did not know it yet, more room not ready, so change of room to a higher floor good thing like same, but it was not clean, hair on the bed, dust on the furniture ...., really disappointed

Great View!!!! That s about the only good thing I can say! starts with really poorly organized parking, For the first time ever couldn t understand a word from the girl at the check in. stains on the couch chair has a rip in it. Beer cans underneath the dresser. Windows need to be cleaned.

The room was excellent, the view was great. The service was terrible. We had the breakfast buffet, but our waitress was not around.

Very disappointing!! I booked this room through Marriott on purpose because I thought they would take care of their loyal customers. Not true at all. Our room was not ready even though the reservation was booked 2 months in advance. We had to ask for towels 3 times. I paid extra for a Falls view and high floor and We were on the 6th floor. The website said 10 and higher. They fought with me and were super unhelpful. Then if you want to book excursions DON T and I repeat don t do it through them. They are trying to sell you other things other than seeing the falls. Not worth the money and we heard so many people s complaints about the long long lines and how horrible it was. We left really early the next morning because we had such a horrible experience. They refunded our parking fee, which was nice but I won t go back here again. I gave them 3 stars because it was clean and nice once you get soap and towels after asking so many times and after 10pm. The breakfast buffet was good as well and it is walking distance to the falls. It also over looks horseshoe falls, some people book overlooking the wrong falls. They also have fireworks every night over the falls at 10 or 10:30.

Major remodelling construction inside hotel woke me up at 7:45 and continued through my checkout time at noon. I was several floors below the construction floors, but the sawing, drilling, and hammering sounded like it was only a floor or two away. This is not a good choice for the next few months until construction is complete.
Also $29 for parking is a rip off, and WiFi is not free.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great service from everyone! Tried to offer a lot of discounts for many attractions.

Stayed there on the night of december 24th. We got a free upgrade to a room with a view of the falls. Great service all around and the inclusive breakfast for 2 people per room. Otherwise it is a bit pricey at around $24 a person.

We paid well over $400 to stay one night in the most basic of their rooms with a view of the parking lot which is apparently their city view. No upgrade here. The room itself was nice but the bathrooms are small and our door was broken. They provided us with 2 washcloths when there was 4 of us then took 20 minutes to bring more and the topper was that our room had no smoke detector which is completely unsafe. I mentioned it to the girl at the front desk and she didn t seem to care. We will most likely try another hotel the next time we visit in the spring. I usually always have great experiences with Marriott hotels so it is disappointing.

Nope I will not be staying at this hotel again. Beds are uncomfortable.

Great place and bus service is perfect if you want hop on hop off style

They treated us very well from the minute we checked in! Got us free bus passes and everything was great! The restaurant in the mezzanine is good food but pricey. I recommend finding something on the red wego bus route off the beaten path if you don't want mega-touristy experiences. Beds are great. The view is great. The bus stops right in front of the hotel. Couldn't ask for a better time!

You get up so close to the falls there is water everywhere! It was so much fun!

The stay was very enjoyable. The concierges were informative and helpful. The parking was very expensive and the valet service was a bit disorganized. The room was very clean and the view was awesome!

Jr Presidential Suite. A/c doesn't work well. They close the concierge lounge on Saturday entirely. The elevators are packed and take forever. This place has been taken over by dance moms.

One of the best hotels out of the choices you have in Niagara... Big clean rooms, beautiful views, and helpful staff.

Before I went there, I called to reservation dept. But one of employee just hung up the phone while I was speaking... rude.....
So I just booked online. Even if I requested high floor, i could stay on 8th floor... View was not good more than I expected...

Overpriced (and you only get single ply toilet paper, have to pay extra per day to park, as if you're not paying enough already). Bathrooms don't have fans so hopefully you don't bring your clothes in there as they'll get rather damp. Only 3 elevators servicing 20 floors, good luck ever getting to your room quickly.

Our stay has been very pleasant. They have taken good care of us. They knew it was a special event and went the extra mile to make it special with a room upgrade. The view is to die for! The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is perfect for a couples getaway!

Loved my room and the view. The best part of my stay was the concierge service. They were promt, professional, and went the extra mile to help me with a personnal request. Will defintly be back!

Excellent hotel, very comfortable rooms, but the extraordinary thing is the location, directly overlooking the falls, a marvel of wonders. Breakfast: well-stocked buffet, but of poor quality. In any case, I highly recommend it.

We arrived early and our room wasnt ready. They upgraded us to a better room and it was more than i could ask for. The service ia amazing. The room itself was stunning and the ammenities are top notch. We enjoyed a lovey lunch at milestones.

Great time at the hotel. Sure - it's a bit expensive, but the view can be breathtaking. I have no complaints to the staff or about the condition of the rooms. Everything was top-notch and I had a clean, comfortable and an enjoyable experience here.

The hotel was mismanaged at every level.

Elevators are not well programmed to service the hotel when it is at capacity (30 minutes wait in the lobby to go to your floor). Additionally, no-one was there to ensure that social distancing measures were enforced in the elevator which led to some tension between guests.

The overpriced parking was overbooked, meaning that we had to drive around for 30 minutes every night to find parking we paid for.

Upon packing up for check out, we found underwear from a previous guest in the room, an obvious sign that sanitary measures are not prioritized by management during this pandemic.

Massive parties in multiple rooms on the same floor were allowed every night, once again showing that the hotel prioritizes profit rather than guests safety by allowing for large gatherings. Impossible to sleep between 12am and 4am due to noise (paper thin walls/doors). Even when making a noise complaint, staff was dismissive and security did next to nothing to solve the issue.

I had an amazing view from my 29th story window. The hotel is well situated. The bathroom had a large whirlpool tub with a spacious shower. My bed was super comfortable. I loved having Starbucks right downstairs. I'd definitely stay here again.

Great location if you can get a falls view room. The lobby and common areas were very nice and the staff was mostly friendly. The rooms were clean and appear to have been recently renovated.

Wow, how can I begin to describe what a flawless stay I had in Niagara. Every aspect of staying at Marriott on The Falls went above and BEYOND my expectations. One of the front desk ladies, I believe her name was Hanna, was absolutely amazing. She was so helpful, organized, respectful, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The room was so beautiful, clean and huge, and we were able to see the falls perfectly from any floor of the hotel. The breakfast was completely worth the inexpensive buffet, with eggs cooked perfectly, and a great amount of crispy bacon, while enjoying our view of Niagara.

Marriott on the Falls made my one year anniversary an unforgettable trip, from the lovely staff, to the beautiful room and the delicious food. If you still aren't sure, the hotel has free wifi, and your reservation comes with bus passes for the all the hotspots in Niagara. There is no where else I'd ever book to my future trips to Niagara.

Wonderful place to stay. Clean and the staff is so nice and helpful. On my birthday day I came back to my room to Find a bottle of Chardona cake & wine glasses it was just wonderful.

We had a very relaxing stay at the Marriott. The view from the room we had was beautiful overlooking the falls. At night the falls were illuminated. Our room was excellent and very clean and spacious.
