The reason I am giving this hotel 1 stars is because of the BED!!! The mattress was so soft I slept like a newborn baby! I wasn't impressed with the "renovations". The carpet is old, tub had scratches, touch up spots and a rusted pipe hanging from the ceiling! Other room had an old smell. I requested double beds but when arrived they i formed me that none were available , I accepted because i was offered a cot but the room was too small to accommodate such.
I requested a refund because I wasn't satisfied! The up graded my room to a premium with a king size bed and sleeper sofa! My traveling partner now I wanted to sleep on a couch after spending that kind of money for comfort! The manager refused to reimburse me so I stayed but ran like a quarterback to the Westin hotel memorial city! Total different atmosphere! Quality, cleanliness, updated and modern.
Oh I forgot to mention the parking! $24 to self part or $32 for valet! Not Including the $50 per not incidental deposit they require but didn't tell me until I asked what the $100 overage on my card was about!
Customer service SUCK!
NEVER AGAIN WILL I MAKE THE MISTAKE BY BOOKING WITH MARRIOTT AGAIN!
Needed help activating the internet in my room. Was told by the desk "were too busy right now.
Bathroom fixtures falling off the wall.
Nightclub blasting music all night. Unable to sleep before midnight.
Avoid this place. You could get better service and equally disgusting rooms from a motel 6 for way cheaper.
Staff was nice, walls and door are paper thin. Heard every coming and going all night at the elevators, as my room was immediately adjacent to bank on 7th floor.
I may have received this sub par room because I requested a feather free room.
Bathroom countertop appeared to be installed for handicap access (very low), though my room was not handicap accessible (no possible way a wheelchair is fitting through the bathroom door). Drop ceiling in bathroom was also exceptionally low, as a tall person I felt claustrophobic.
In room tv was average, remote was laggy, no infotainment options that I could find.
Smoke detector has bright LED that blinks every five seconds, super annoying if you prefer a dark room, especially when you ve already been woken up by the loud people at the elevators at 3am.
I won t stay here again.
Comfortable and well located. The internet service in the rooms is unreasonably expensive. The service is free in the hotel lobby.
Decent space, better service. Not the most upscale place I've been, but good enough for my purposes during a quick stay in Houston! Bathroom definitely needs work, but it didn't feel dirty. No complimentary breakfast and you have to pay for parking, but there's a "free" shuttle and plenty places to eat nearby.
Stay but don't eat here.
Our stay and room were fine, no issues there. The location is great for going to the mall, restaurants, ect.The room service food was a disappointment. Honestly, I can't see paying those prices for that quality. We ordered dinner 2 times and breakfast 2 times. There were mistakes with 3:4 meals. The fish and chips were uneatable due to the bad oil taste overwhelming the batter.
Very friendly service at the counter and the bar, and even the cleaning staff. The room I was in had an odd view looking over their "glass palace" space which felt a little weird.
Nice rooms .. only problem I had was we parked on the parking garage to find our car battery dead!!! Went to the front desk only to looked at like a fool when we asked staff to help us out... I've been a front desk clerk at a hotel Be for and never have I ever told my guest I would not help them if it was something so simple..so we just asked another kind guest to help us which they did... and we did have jumper cables..
I don't like places that force paid parking but the interior is nice
Central to the area and the Galleria. Good restaurants close by.
Staff and accommodation are good, 4 stars instead of 5 for parking. $24 per night parking.
The hotel was very nice and was in a great location. They had a lot of amenities and bottled water as well as maps, newspaper and other items at the front desk. The only unfortunate problem was that parking was very expensive and that there weren't many vegetarian options for breakfast. Outside of this, the hotel had very nice views and was close to a few luxury car dealerships and posh area.
Tired hotel under construction. Had the buffet breakfast and it was awful. The two stars come from the front desk staff they were great.
Hotel A/C did not work. Additionally, I was placed on a wedding party floor. Guest partied all night. No sleep... I was not happy with my experience.
Staff was great food was good. Room was average the rest was high end.
Hello! Welcome to the 90s!
Crazy how $40 extra can put in the JW Marriott 5 min away from this one which is also a brand new modern hotel...
Decent hotel, good service. The reason for the 3 stars is that it s old and and needs to be renovated. It s not modern at all compares to the other Marriott properties. 90s feeling! For the price ($150+ a night!) you can do a lot better (amazing Airbnb).
Also, had a issue with hearing people in other rooms due to the connected doors.
My new room had a leak in the sink at 10 pm, water all over the floor.
Service has degraded a lot. Beautiful hotel and great location.
Really nice and clean hotel. Right next to the mall. I stayed here for 1 night. The only drawback I would say is parking which is $24 for a night reminds me of New York. Overall great experience and loved the hotel.
This Hotel is quite not on the main city. And there not much chaos around. It looks like a farm house and not like a typical hotel. The ambience , the room space, and ample car parking space makes it apt to stay
The room was clean. The toilet was the loudest I think I have ever heard and the parking will cost you 26 bucks minimum. Other than that it was a nice hotel
We have our weekly networking meeting here and Alice and Mimi always take great care of us.
Clean and well ran. They must have a good management and staff. Friendly and attentive.
The location was clean and inviting. Plenty of room for the amount of people attending the event.
Great price for great location and pretty good service-no 5 star but for the price... Excellent
It was great staying here. Friendly staff and well kept. The rooms were not that awesome compare to price but at the same time it s the brand as well. But loved my stay here.
The hotel needs to be upgraded. No suites at this location. The pool was heated last time I stayed here this time it wasn't. Parking was 26 dollars a day, No valet available due to covid19. The room needed cleaning and the tub kept stopping up and the shower curtains were ripped The staff were very polite though
Beware of the curb when you pull up to valet your vehicle. The curb color matches the driveway, which also matches the sidewalk... Chewed up one of my rims when I was pulling up to valet. I spoke with the "supervisor", told him what happened, and suggested that they get the curb painted yellow or red (which I'm sure it should be painted red anyways since no one should be parking there). All the "supervisor" did was offer to pay for the valet fee, which he didn't make good on, and said he'd voice my suggestion hire up.
Amber in the concierge lounge was so friendly and accommodating.
Solid, not great. My experience was pleasant but have been more thrilled with rooms in more updated FS Marriotts. Felt like I was in the 80's. I stayed in the Hospitality suite which has a bar, a dining room table, lots of space...and a murphy bed? Outlets were not to be found anywhere near the desk. Been a Marriott member for 4 years. Platinum for all of them with 400 nights in that time.
Great customer service Clean rooms and conference food exceeded expectations
Hotel is very good. Unfortunately i left an item in the room and days after the check out they contacted me to get my information and return it. I sent my information and also contacted them. After several weeks of their lack of response i called again and learned that they no longer have it because it was not claimed and it was donated. I am very disappointed with the Customer Service employees.
Great hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds.
Bad. Need to pay for parking $19 per night. They also charge for wifi
Great Hotel with awesome meeting rooms and outstanding staff. Especially Mimi and Alice
I enjoyed my stay. My room was big, spacious and had a beautiful view
it's ok, nothing spectacular. The beds are comfy but the food is subpar and the bathrooms need updates to the plumbing.
Temper Peter convention was absolutely wonderful the host hotel was absolutely 5 stars
My husband and I stayed for business and our experience was wonderful. My husband is a disabled veteran and Eunice (at the Front Desk) did everything to make our accommodations made him feel safe and comfortable. We travel often and very rarely find such amazing service. Great job! And sweet Eunice...you are such a wonderful employee and brand ambassador for Marriott. Thank you!
Traffic sucks but meeting was great! Food was delicious! Meeting rooms were very nice.
Wonderful service excellent excellent literature and tact in dealing on the highest level
Staff and service were very good. Rooms were standard for this level of hotel. Only issue was there was no place high enough to hang my wife's dresses without them dragging the ground. Had to leave a closet door open and hang them from the top of the door.
Don't let the lobby fool you, it's another one of these hotels where the door bumps the toilet when you open the door. Wifi doesn't work and building has terrible cell service. Also the pool is indoor so don't bother there...
Didn't like the fact j had to pay out the ass for parking but other than that it was a great stay.
In town for work. Location was fine and it met the basic needs. The room wasn't bad but could use some upgrades/renovations. Some of the ceiling tiles were discolored/vent was dirty...nothing too serious. I went to the Starbucks in the morning and I got the last muffin. More options there would have been nice. Overall, not a bad stay but not the nicest Marriott I've been to either.
Amazing staff at the front desk. Very attentive and friendly. Beds are super comfy. All they need here is some World Cinema in room entertainment. :D
Marriot is the only hotel I will stay when travelling out of town. When in town, this particular location is the only location I will stay. It is very quiet, in a super busy location, with the best grocery stores, shops, and malls in Houston within walking distance.
Purely based on the facilities, I would give this hotel 3 or 4 stars, but the staff here are AMAZING! WOW! They have gone above and beyond to ensure my husband and I have a great weekend visit to Houston.
Good breakfast buffet. Great location. Parking garage next door ruins the view.
Just stopped by. And valet gave me excellent service
Great price and nice clean room. I was here for a conference and the customer service was awesome!
My Brother put up for a night. New school Elegance large rooms plush bathrobes great breakfast as with all things location is vital close to the Galleria uptown many restaurants and shopping
Do Not Stay, they automatically charge you for parking even if you dont stay $25/ night. A JOKE. Rooms are very dark and old as well.
The restaurant was great and the staff members were incredibly friendly and patient. The hotel was nice but only giving 4 stars because my bed was really uncomfortable on one side. It felt as if one side of the king bed had collapsed a bit so I had to sleep on the other side. Thankfully I was staying there alone so it wasn't a big deal for me.
Great location, good rates, clean rooms. I stay here any time I have to be near the galleria area without breaking the bank. Rooms are not the most updated, but are in good condition given the age.
The rooms were very clean and spacious. The staff was polite and very helpful.
The staff at the west loop hotel was very helpful and friendly.
Staying here in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Even with barebones staff and massive flooding in the area everyone here has been great.
Great location but the hotel was gross. Thin walls, expensive parking, tiny shower.
The front end people were very informative and nice. For the price, this is a good location for getting to the downtown area and medical district.
Parking in their garage was $19 for the day and let you come and go as you wish. There's an indoor pool, bar/restaurant, and mini shop open all night for small snacks.
The room was comfortable and clean. Soft bed, quiet hallways, no odd smells.
I recommend dropping off heavy bags by the main entrance because it's a good walk from the garage, taking an elevator to the lobby floor, and walking through the building to a second set of elevators near the entrance.
Overall it was another great stay at a Marriott and I'd easily come back.
The overall service was great. The room was pleasant but a little dated. I went for a work event and would return again.
As a loyal Marriott customer, I always stay in Marriotts when travelling (multiple times per month). This was my first Marriott location stay of the week. The room was disgusting, there was some sort of fluid splattered all over the bathroom door that clearly had not been cleaned. The room was extremely dated. Prior to entering the room, I requested to extend my stay a few days as my travel plans had changed since I made my reservation. I was told that it would be no problem. I woke up to check out details and went downstairs to confirm that I could still extend my stay (even after seeing how disgusting the room was, it was the "easy button"). I was told I could extend, however they would be charging me DOUBLE the nightly rate per night, which is not what I was told would be the case the day before. My room service dinner order was also delivered incorrectly. All around poor experience looking at quality. Will not be staying here again, don't be tricked by it's location in the nice Uptown location.
