The service I got was great, i had no problems with my room, the gym was well kept and clean and the food in the restaurant was amazing. The servers were nice and made great food recommendations.

The hotel was nice for a Marriott. Although the room I got was not recently updated it was still okay. The only thing I would say that disappointed me is that they charge to use the PC's in their business room. Also the pillows had a sweaty smell. Employees wear nice and helpful, location was also convenient.

A very disappointing stay for the price. The location in downtown KC is good - right near the Convention Center (but there are half a dozen hotels in the same block, so you might want to try one of those). The room itself was no better (and in some ways worse) that a Quality Inn: a king bed room with a tiny tub, no refrigerator, and no free internet (Really? I have to pay for internet when I'm already paying $163/night for this dinky room? Way to add insult to injury). The attached restaurant was under construction, and there aren't a lot of restaurants nearby, so I ordered room service the first night. Prompt but mediocre, way overpriced - pretty much standard for room service, no biggie. The service was okay for a very busy weekend. Overall the hotel was very disappointing. I don't think I'll ever be staying at a Marriott again, certainly not when I'm in Kansas City.

My stay here was insane. Parking was closed and I had to park across the street and pay to park. Then I find out my convention has been moved to another building on another block and I have to take a maze to get there including going up 2 floors, crossing a crosswalk over the street, then down a floor, across the building, down 3 more floors, and in a basement with only one bathroom for everyone there! Not only that but they jipped us on the food that was being served and several of us didn't eat. After that experience, I feel I do deserve a refund. Short story: Don't book an event here.

Nice

NEVER STAY HERE!

NEVER STAY HERE!

I travel a TON for business and this was my first trip to Kansas City. Upon arrival, I was offered a government rate at checkin by the desk clerk because I am a government employee and that is the ONLY way I can stay at the hotel. It need to be understood that had the front desk clerk NOT offered the government rate, I would not have stayed there but since I'm a rewards member, I wanted to give it a try to see if they had a room at a govt rate.

After checkout, I received a bill for the FULL PRICE! I was astonished! After speaking with the hotel about this SEVERAL times, they have called me a liar and refused to honor the government rate that was offered to me at checkin. They have said it is my fault that the rate is not honored because I did not get it in writing.

I am a frequent traveler for my government job and only stay exclusively at Marriott hotels because I am a rewards member and being treated like this is unusual of Marriott hotels. As a civil servant, I am not accustomed to being treated like a liar or cheat of some sort.

Would never stay here again. They are NOT what you expect from Marriott hotels and they will bait and switch on you if it is to their benefit.

The staff is amazing, efficient, knowledgeable and very kind. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are beautiful. I had many relaxing showers in their beautiful bathrooms. Bed was a dream. I loved it.

I was able to stay in a newly renovated room which was nice, but it's a bit of a hassle when they put you in the separate tower. Getting to the gym and restaurant/bar takes a bit longer. I was on a lower floor and heard commotion from outside a couple of times throughout the night, but for the most part had a great stay. I'm sure once renovation is complete this will be a great option.
