Super fancy and nice. It sucks that they charge you for self park even when you are staying there. Also if they come and change your sheets they will charge you a lot for that too. Over all good experience, front desk was alright not super nice and willing to help.

I actually just went to the park across the street from the hotel and walked around and sat there for awhile with my boyfriend and it was awesome and beautiful and we had a wonderful and romantic day. Would go back to their park anytime to do that again!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Amazing concierge lounge, high tech elevators, and a courteous and attendant staff. When checking in with Alicia I mentioned that my birthday was coming up. When I got back to my hotel room that night there was a birthday cake and card signed by the staff members. I stayed for two nights and had such an exceptional experience that I will stay here exclusively when in Kansas City.

The room was over $300 for one night and was pretty basic. I was just expecting more. Everything was updated, but nothing too fancy. Also, the breakfast buffet was $15.95, but was nothing more than a typical continental breakfast. Very upsetting. I do have to say that the hotels customer service was amazing, which was great. Also, the beds were comfy.

Nice hotel, fairly clean except the telephone. I wasn't crazy about having to stand in line behind approximately 20 other guests waiting to check in with only 2 people working behind the desk. The little coffee shop in the main area were very friendly. My husband went downstairs to purchase a cup of coffee for me and wasn't sure what I wanted. The gentleman behind the counter called the room to get the specifics of my coffee order. He was such a pleasant and cheerful person!

The KC Marriott Downtown is our favorite place to stay. It is newly remodeled, provides outstanding customer service, offers a restaurant and bar and is in walking distance to the Power and Light District.

Thought the Marriott was a premium hotel. I've stayed at holiday inns better than this. Very average, dated rooms and thin walls. Good front desk service + fitness area is one of the best I've come across.

Update: Looks like they're updating the rooms in the older building on 12th. Fitness area should be open 24-7 though. I mean, it's on a completely different floor than the other guestrooms.

My wife recently had a work conference here and I tagged along to explore. Friendly and attentive staff. Convenient parking underground. Great access to everything downtown and power & light district. Restaurant and shop in house. Also 22nd floor fitness center was clean and spacious, newer equipment. All and all a great place to stay.

Location is wonderful surrounded by a beautiful Kansas City downtown. The atmosphere of the hotel is very modern and elegant with a beautiful overhead waterfall as you enter the lobby. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.

Rooms were nice, bed was comfortable, the bar was the best. They had a variety of beers to choose from and put up with all of us (attending a convention) staying at the bar until close, and then hanging out in the lounge well into the night. Great staff, loved the shuttle although I wish it went a bit further.

Great stay for the big national volleyball tournament. It was my first time in Kansas City, Missouri. The staff all seemed to be well experienced with the number of guests. There was even a manager who helped me with my luggage down the escalator when one of the elevators was out of service. They thought of everything.

The layout of the hotel is weird because there are two separate buildings connected by a skyway on the 2nd floor. This ends up creating very long wait times at the elevator. The rooms lack enough conveniently located electrical outlets for charging cell phones and other devices. The location is pretty good though. There are some good restaurants only a couple of blocks away.

Great Location, Views & Service with Free Shuttle

Great Location, Views & Service with Free Shuttle
The check-in process was fairly smooth however pay attention about the elevators or you will have a hard time getting to your room. You select your room number from a large keypad display and the display will inform you of what elevator you need to use. It s a pretty ingenious idea and it works very well to move the crowds efficiently.
The hotel, rooms and hallways seem recently updated. They are clean and the rooms have plenty of ports and USB charging areas. The dark out shades close all the way which is great. The windows were clean and the views are fantastic, we were on the top floor.
The toiletries have a very strong odor which some may like but I didn t care for it.
The King bed we had was very hard, not like a typical fluffy Marriott bed and the sheets and comforter were a bit scratchy. I asked if they had mattress toppers to make the bed more comfortable but they didn t.
The room service is extremely quick, about 15 minutes which is unheard of in a hotel of this size. It s delivered in a sack and the food is in takeout containers. The room service menu is NOT the typical room service menu. It s not made to order, it s take out prefixed limited menu with no toast, pancakes or waffles. Coffee comes in a cardboard box with a spout on it. I m sure that this method is extremely efficient however it would be nice to have a choice of room service or takeout delivered. The picture of the toasted bagel sandwich on the outside of the menu looks great, but it's not available, it s just a stock photo. I look forward to a nice breakfast when I travel so I was a bit disappointed.
We were there for a wedding and the venue, food and service was fantastic the entire evening.
Overall, the hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and elevators are pretty quick considering all of the traffic. The rooms are nice and updated. I love the solar panels over the entrance awning, what a clever idea.
The shuttle is an awesome service, the van is super clean and comfortable and the driver is very friendly and helpful. We didn t really need a car because we used the shuttle. When you re ready for a pick up you just text and you re picked up pretty quickly.
The downtown area is very clean and safe to walk around and it has many great attractions along with a local pharmacy that are within the shuttle area which is very convenient if you don t want to walk.
I liked that we could skip the room cleaning and get points added to our account.

Room is..ok for the money. Slightly limited cable channels. Very average bathroom. The catered food for hosted events is often pretty bad. A very average experience for an above average price. Excellent staff though.

Beware Marriott tried to request $50/day hold on credit cards.
Showed Manager email from his hotel with no mention of $50 per day hold.
Had to argue with staff to get $50 for whole stay.
Who does this to Guests without a warning?

All staff members are friendly and welcoming. Location is incredibly elegant and the surrounding landscape in this area of town adds to its beauty. Rooms are cozy with comfortable beds. Free WiFi with a paid, upgradable option is available. Breast location for events or just for a getaway.

There are plenty of rooms to choose fun as well as meeting spaces and plenty of restaurant options with them block you the States or there is several bus stops as well as a complimentary light rail system in the power and light district yeah you can ride for free I do feel that the parking rates could be adjusted to one single low rate per day rather than charge so much for a whole day per hour

Good overall experience. The one complaint I have is: the elevator is pretty dubm. When trying to go down to the first floor from the 15th, where my room is, it took incredibly too many stops. Every floor it would stop on. The idea of those touchscreen panels is nice, but if they are gonna cause just as much conjestion as every other elevator system, then it was a waste of money for y'all. There should be some kind of intelligence built in. After x number of stops on the way down, it should cease to stop at additional floors. This would allow it to get a full load without stopping at too many floors.

Not the greatest hotel I've ever stayed at. Not the worst either. The room had been cleaned, but some things had been missed, like an advil my daughter found. No complimentary breakfast. Could have been worse.

I am a Government employee. I was staying at the Marriott for a seminar for four nights. When I called to book the room, I was told the hotel rate was $140 per day, including tax(I wrote the amount and confirmation number down during the call). The seminar group was receiving a, "discount," for reserving rooms. During my stay, my company credit card was charged $901, which was WAY more than the agreed rate, and I hadn't even checked out yet. I went to the front desk and spoke with the woman working at the counter. She informed me the extra charges on my card were for tax, and incidental fees. She then proceeded to inform me the incidental fees(which were never explained to me initially)would be returned up on checkout. This brought the room charge to $175+, still MORE than what I was originally told, and had agreed upon (and wrote down). I asked if they could lower the rate to what I was originally told; the woman told me no. I then asked to speak to a manager. The manger also informed me that there was nothing he could do to help me. I am very angry at the lack of concern the manager had for my situation. This reflected poorly on me at my job. If my employer was less understanding, I could have been reprimanded.
Additionally, I found this hotel to be OVERPRICED, even had I received my original rate. The room, and other portions of the hotel were outdated. There wasn't continental breakfast. The pool was small, and also outdated.I had to walk long distances from the parking garage to my room with my luggage, and not ONE employee offered a cart, or assistance. I would HIGHLY suggest staying elsewhere when you visit KC.
