Hospitable and friendly hotel with all inclusive f...

Hospitable and friendly hotel with all inclusive formula. Slightly dated, but spacious rooms, not noisy, balcony or terrace and very friendly staff. Is remote, but the airport is close by and the connections are excellent.

Strenghts:
Very good atmosphere, very good view, pool, marina, and beach.
great interiors.

Opportunities of improvement :
Food can be better.

On the internet another 4 star and suddenly only 3 star hotel.
We have never had such a bad hotel .. The toilet door is more like a stable door. And then broken just like many other things in the room.
The food is very little choice and then mostly the same every day ..

Pool water was 17 degrees in December. So nobody in the water for Christmas. night in winter temperatures 12-16 degrees. Lots of disco thumps and noise from the clubs on the blvd in Port Ghalib that keep you awake across the harbor until after midnight.

Used whilst waiting for flight back to UK, Hotel is slightly tired with several very rough paths around one of the two swimming pools, however on a plus side I was invited to purchase a day ticket for 15 euros which proved to be excellent value it covered all drinks and available food the main restaurant served buffet style hot and cold food, which had a good choice and very tasty! (Advice watch opening & closing time) The hotel has a beach area but not tried!

A huge minus behind pools with such icy water that they were empty, the staff partly lazy and with a hand outstretched, the cleaning constantly forgot to put water in the rooms, for the first time it happened to me that all medicines disappeared 3 days before departure. but without imagination. underwater life is a big plus of this place. Rooms nice but outdated. Maximum 3 stars.

Me and my family booked a room for three but there was only ONE double bed so I had to sleep on the couch which was not so comfortable ... and besides, there was not enough water so my mom has to complain

The hotel looks rather small on the travel portals, but it is not - but after a couple of times it works out smoothly with the room find :-). It's older, but I have not seen any dirty corners. Of course, here and there, the color breaks off, or on the paths of the concrete - but for the price that is perfectly fine. My room on the second floor was basic but clean (room 540), the roomboy did a good job and it was still quiet. What bothered me on arrival, was that the porter with $ 1 tip was not satisfied and told me that it would cost $ 5, of course I did not comply with his * request for payment * and I prefer to leave my suitcase on the 2 floors carried down - such things do not have to be and a request I have so far even in Egypt (except at the airport the 2 euro tip tricks) not experienced. Check in and check out was perfectly fine. The food was limited in scope (offer), but with a bit of good will everyone will find something to eat. What I really want to emphasize positively was that I had no stomach problems, although I had eaten everything and sometimes drinks with ice cubes - on previous visits to Egypt, I had always slight stomach problems after 1 to 2 days. Thus, this hotel was very suitable for me, since I came mainly to diving and the Emperor base is located directly in the hotel. From breakfast to s submarine it is only a few steps. The Emperor dive base with Anna and Paul at the top is really recommended, there are certainly cheaper dive centers - but it's really not comfortable and I was charged in the final bill a fair dive package that contained no cheating. I had all the time Machmoud As a diving guide and he was great in dealing with the clientele.

Booked through an offer, spacious rooms in Moorish style. The reef is unfortunately not accessible via a jetty. Unfortunately the animation team provided the "atmospheric music" at a too high volume, both at the hotel and on the beach, not suitable for those seeking tranquility (as we are). So nice for once, but there are plenty of other beautiful resorts in Marsa Alam

We an elderly and well-traveled couple can not understand the bad reviews.
The rooms were large and clean, the majority of the staff was friendly and helpful. Food for Egypt good to very good. Pool areas clean and enough beach chairs. Snorkeling on house reef species-rich. 35 minutes to Port Ghalib or 4 minutes by water taxi. We would come again.

Good hotel for diving and snorkling. Very good own reef. Good infrastructure for diving and snorkling trips.
You must have aqua-shoeses, because hotels beach doesnt have the pantone. I realy hope administration of the hotel understand that problem and fix it.
Also you should pay attention that there is no own sandy beach.

Hi.
I was in this hotel with my wife on November 10-17, 2018 and it was our first stay in Egypt.
We heard a lot and most of the negative opinions.
We were positively surprised.
1) Mega nice, friendly, 90% smiling people.
2) Full Polish summer during this period. A real paradise. :)
3) It's a bit harder here. In every store, or even people, come up where they can and invite them over and keep trying to sell something. There are almost no prices and I had the impression that they come up with speed, so you have to negotiate as much as possible. You say how much you can pay for something and you keep going. Only course of action there. :)

Hotel:
1) The food is diverse, delicious. Service at restaurants is very friendly, helpful and professional. Beach bar in the context of serving people a little less, but no exaggeration.
2) The rooms, due to the fact that they have their Arabic style, it's hard to fault anything. Cleaning every day. Good.
3) Peaceful neighborhood, very good for adults. There weren't many children there and they wouldn't have anything to do there.
4) WiFi free only in the lobby near the reception and also only the possibility of talking via messenger, and you will not watch videos on YouTube.
5) Lots of salespeople, they offer something every step of the way, but in a nice way - you can learn a lot from them how to relate with a smile and present their services.
6) Perfect animators. It is impossible not to laugh, and even "choke" with laughter;) Young, self-confident people talk to everyone in a relaxed, cool, individual way. Revelation.
7) To the beach 100-150 meters, walk 5 minutes from the hotel.
8) NOTE! There is hardly any Roaming in Egypt. I paid PLN 500 for it at home and with my wife. And I looked through Facebook for 10 minutes and did nothing else. Turn off MOBILE DATA and WiFi only. A good way to do this is, for example, to buy a sim card for 5 Euro and probably for the amount of 5 GB of net (at the airport from the locals - they will scream outright for you to buy and maybe it is worth considering - I will do so together)
9) Snacks between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. - hopeless, because a roll with cheese or a sausage, plus peppers, cucumbers, etc., not good. Perhaps mannered, or as it is spelled.
10) At the beach bar only drinks, beer and cola, sprite, mirinda drinks. No fruits, vegetables, snacks.
11) Overall, I rate 8/10, so as you can see I am satisfied. In some places, you can see that the hotel is already a few years old, but for a couple, for example, as a springboard from the Polish cold, not wanting to worry about food and being able to sunbathe, take a bath, or lain (of course, the options for various additional stretches) it's almost perfect.

No hotel for everyone. And that's just as well. Small plant right on the harbor. There is nothing around it. Perfect for relaxing. By boat you drive to the city at the other end of the harbor. Directly in front of the hotel there are diving ships. The beach is 10 minutes away on foot. But you can take the hotel bus. No Russians or party people. Just a holiday!

We know the Marina Lodge from the years 2014/15, where it was a cheap but quite acceptable (diving) hotel. That had encouraged us for one night to check in after a safari. But what we found was completely out of the question. The property has come down and massively in need of refurbishment. Service and customer friendliness does not exist. The quality and choice of food in the restaurant was so bad that you can only call it unacceptable. Every boat crew cooks on Sterneniveu. Likewise the drinks tasted only after the vitamins B, A, S & F. Only the rooms are just as spacious as ever and reasonably clean. Permanent compulsory sound, which can hardly escape, does not have to be. Well, we survived the night, but again we certainly will not come ....

Do you want peace this place is ideal The food is reasonable to good The pool is cold. You have to go to the harbor by bus or boat. If you want to dive or snorkel, you're in the right place.

Very nice hotel with nice rooms and great pool area! Delicious food from the buffet and friendly service. Ideal also for divers, e.g. Day trips or at the house reef, or as the start or end of a liveaboard safari. Great view of the sea and the harbor, own beach area with comfortable beach chairs 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Rather quietly the other hotels and bars are all on the other side of the harbor. With the water taxi you also get to the other side well. We would like to come again!

The hotel is of a special nature ... you feel very welcome in your home ... especially the wonderful treatment of the restaurant staff and in front of them Mont Montaser, the owner of the smile is wonderful and permanent .. and all the restaurant staff were very friendly and did not have any problem with any of the guests during the trip .. Special thanks to the hotel's animation team, which delighted all the guests, young and senior, and made us feel we did not want to leave this hotel and stay as long as possible ..

Very bad experience from the start to the end! I was there with my two children. I booked all inclusive trip with Solfaktor travel agency for the first week of January 2019! We arrived at the hotel at 8:30 pm in the evening. The staff forgot to bed the couch in our room used for the third person and there was no extra blanket that I could use during the night, and they gave us a room where the heating system was not working, it was very cold during the night.
The next day early in the morning I asked to change the room. But in the evening the same day I and my older son we both got diarrhea! Luckily I had medicine with me which we took straight away so we were fine until the next day. But their two pools was not heated so the kids couldn't swim during the whole holliday.
The children spent the whole time playing table tennis and billiards.
The day before we returned home the tabletennisball disappeared! I personally contacted 4 people who are responsible for the kids club and asked them if we could get a new ball for the children to play with it again. They promised me that soon we will get one and nothing happend.
On Wednesday morning, one day before we were going home, when I woke up, I discovered marks on my arm and foot, which I recognized directly, lice bite. Because I got the same marks when I got back from Hurghada trip and I finded the insect and killed it. When I went to the doctor then to show him my marks he ask me if I just returned from a trip abroad because these creturs dont live in cold weather.
I went straight to the receptionist Mr. Farid who worked then to tell about what happined, but he claimed that the responsible person for health issues is not available in the morning and he will comes back at 19 o'clock. Okay I say I'll return laiter. I called after we had eaten dinner from our room and asked the front desk but no one could talk to me at 20:30. Therefore I decided to go to the reception personally at 21:30 and then I met a person who was responsible for health reporting, at first he denied the problem but when he listened and saw the marks on my arm and foot, he asked me what I wanted to do? Do you want to change the room? I said I have already been bitten by these small animals and I will leave the hotel at 12 o'clock, the only thing you could do is change all the bed clothes and all the duvets and they did.

The water is great staff mega friendly, unfortunately a star deduction for the diving base, here you should not ask but should pay. Is in English leadership and for Germans currently not so happy.

Location is great, and when you can find a manager you can get some services. Otherwise, food is very bad, service isbeither very bad or completely absent. Called 4 times to get toilette paper amd still dont get it. Had to go in the public toilett to steal one roll. Wi-Fi not working? They reply no and do nothing. Sad side, there is not so many other options...

Ik zou iedereen sterk afraden om in Marina Lodge te verblijven! Tien jaar geleden was ik er ook en toen was alles nieuw, fris, netjes en zeer gastvrij. In de laatste jaren is het hotel echt zeer slecht geworden. Ik ben er eind juli geweest en zal even een paar dingen opsommen:
- hotel valt bijna uit elkaar, plafond delen komen naar beneden, schimmel in de douche, doucheknop viel er af, deurknop viel er af, kluis kapot en een drugsdealer op het hoekje van het hotel (is gewoon personeel!)
- de helft van het hotel (en ook mijn partner) liep rond met oorontstekingen opgelopen in het zwembad.
- animatieteam is te slecht voor woorden en bouwt met zeer luide muziek zijn eigen feestje tot 2uur s'nachts.
- als je all-inclusief hebt krijg je je drinken in een klein plastic cupje zonder ijs, dus warme aangelengde cola. En zelfs de cocktails krijg je in een klein warm bakje.
- het eten is echt niet weg te krijgen. Je weet dat egypte anders is, maar zelfs het ontbijt werden wij ziek van (met een simpel croissantje).
- all inclusief zien zij toch iets anders.. overal in het hotel wordt je aangesproken door personeel wat je koud drinken of goed eten wilt verkopen (voor 80 euro!) en in het winkeltje in het hotel wordt je zwaar opgelicht!
- wil je naar de overkant van de baai? dan ben je verplicht een taxi van het hotel te nemen voor 3 euro p.p. Je koet van te voren aangeven hoe laat je terug wilt...en dan maar afwachten of ze ook komen (bij ons dus niet!)
- emperor divers is een zeer goede en leuke duikorganisatie, maar ook zij hebben blijkbaar last van de crisis want ze duiken alleen nog maar op de riffen langs de kust omdat de dieselprijs te hoog is. En voor drinken op de boot moet je weer extra betalen...

Als je per se naar port ghalib wilt, neem dan een hotel aan de overkant zoals sunrise of palace, die schijnen veel beter te zijn. En ik zou geen all-inclusief nemen...
ps. 1 ster is eigenlijk al te veel ...

Little run down.stayed for a week, five of those days in bed with food poisoning..made worse as no pharmacy on site. Mentioned to reception that myself and husband where bad and they had nothing to say ...staff i found to be rude..especially a bar man , that would be asking for pound coins all the time. There was a young chef, that was lovely, went out his way to help, always smiling and would have a little joke with you..room was clean and large..food was always the same morning afternoon and evenning ..with prob two or three diff dishes...wouldn't go back AGAIN at all..

Reception: <5>, no drink on arrival and bar closed.

All inclusive restaurant: <1>, we are both seasoned travelers, dead and sick of these meals, for 5 days now.
Cutlery and tables were not cleaned and the waiters and chefs stand by and watch. Only on request they will prepare the table. Whenever a table becomes available, back to the waiter for cutlery, glass or coffee cup. Every day, without improvement.
The food was gross. The fish had a stale taste every day. All that was good was rice, chicken and vegetables. And we even got sick of that.
It was also a mess on the buffet tables after half an hour after opening the buffet.

All including bar: <1>, downright disaster. Warm beer, keep cool with ice cubes. Local beer we could buy 4.00 (Stella beer) is against all agreements. Mix drinks were dirty hot and sweet and the lemon was missing all week.
And then the affable way in which you were served, especially when you ordered an alcoholic snack.

Cleaning rooms: <8> top cleaner.

Oh yes, a small detail ..... own population including burka was neatly served with snacks and cookies and drinks even outside the set times .... (?)

Save your time and holiday and go elsewhere. I have never had such bad experience with customer service than I experienced in Marina Lodge. The receptionist hardly speaks any English and it is very hard to ask simple questions. When asking for transportation they would only give me one option which was the company they have there in the hotel, when I explained it was too expensive and if I could have other options they completely shut down and said they could not help and that was the only option. I had to find my own way with their terrible Wifi that ONLY WORKS IN THE RECEPTION to lay other options for myself. Another annoying experience is that the people working their call you out as if you were in a market, always trying to sell you things on the shops in the hotel making it very unpleasant and nothing relaxing. Also, I was minding my own business by the pool and a man from the spa came up to me, I kindly said I was not interested and kept on insisting asking me personal questions like who was I with, if I was with my boyfriend or my family. I kept on telling him to leave me alone then when he finally left a lady from the spa approached me as well. Touching my face telling me I needed a facial when all I wanted was to be left alone. The rooms are great and the food as well, but the people in reception and spa ruined my trip. They were telling me that THE ONLY price for going to Luxor was 150 euros and I would insist it was too expensive, to make a point I ended up going to Luxor only costing me 4.50 euros. DON'T COME HERE.
