I visited Marina Lodge in November, the transfer is nice and easy with the airport only 10mins away. To be honest the hotel and location is suited for people who love their diving and snorkeling as there's not much else to do in the area. Rooms were spacious and the air-con was good, but my fridge didn't work. The food was ok but nothing special, a few dishes were pretty good throughout the week, many waiters seem to ignore me when trying to get a drink, I found one good waiter called Abdallah who came straight to your table and got you a fresh drink when your glass was nearly empty, so I tried to sit close to where he was serving most evenings. Although it's all inclusive not all the bars serve you with free drinks, pick the wrong bar and you have to pay, so make a note of all the correct places to get your drinks from. All in all not a bad area, there's a taxi boat which takes you across the bay at a cost of 1.5 per crossing, make note the hotel does not change English money, you have to go across the bay to get change, how do I pay the taxi boat if I have no Egyptian money I asked? Just get a blank look, luckily a kind lady bought me a ticket to cross, the beach is not really a beach, just a flat area with a few sun loungers, get there early or they're all gone, I chose Marina Lodge as it was one of the cheapest options, i guess it's not that bad for the money, but spend a little more elsewhere and you'll have a better experience.

Staff make this place... friendly so helpful and always smiling..rooms large and spotlessly clean..pool area beautiful...food good and tasty although could have more choice but was out of season...would recommend

We were only here because our flight was canceled. The food was very good and the salad bar really great. The cellar, in the restaurant and bar area chronically overloaded but still very nice. Except for the basement who always played drunk. All in all but only 4 stars as the hotel did not give the impression of more. Lobby, WC's and the pool area seemed rather OK.

I do not recommend photos and descriptions inconsistent with the fact I regret the money spent and stay

we arrived .. you kept us waiting in the reception for 3 hours .. after travelling for 10 hours i don't need 3 more hours waiting to be checked in

It is a very rich resort. Because we made it all inclusive when we stayed, we included all morning, lunch and supper, and we had all-you-can-drink drinks at any time at the bar in the resort. I think it's a great deal. As facilities are substantial, we can enjoy enough even in resort. The room was very cute too.

For me it was probably too rash booking, not to say wrong booking.
The food fits for a 3 * accommodation, which is more like a desert fortress. The photos seem to be from Photoshop.
The hotel is not very well-kept, also not excessively clean, rustic, uncomfortable, unadorned, unaesthetic.
Weak free WiFi only in the lobby with uncomfortable seating.
In the main building you can't close your eyes before 1:00 a.m., as the roar of the bass from the open disco makes the air and walls of the rooms vibrate.
In my opinion, some of the exclusively male staff should keep a little more distance, especially from the older female guests. Not everyone wants to be their "Habibi".

Located in the lagoon of the port of Port Ghalib. It looks outwardly nice, but unfortunately is very run down and sometimes not usable. The pool shimmered green and the lagoon leading from the harbor to the hotel was also not usable for bathing. The choice of food was sufficient but nothing special. The hotel staff was very helpful and always tried hard. Port Ghalib is easily accessible from the hotel by bus or water taxi, which is definitely worth a visit.

Spacious, beautiful hotel area. Very friendly staff, no matter whether animation, room service or in the restaurant. Absolutely child-friendly. Room always clean. Food okay and lots of choices. Good middle class hotel.

We can have some surprise. 1/2 board I have to pay a glass of water, cooking ... TV not connect really. Reception not speak French. Climate disfunction for warm ....

Ideal if you go diving, is right on the harbor where the boats are. Furthermore, wonderfully peaceful environment. Food was not high quality but fine. Super sweet and helpful staff.

Very nice and quiet hotel, fast connection to the night and party life on the other side of the harbor. The food you will always find something that appeals to you and the rooms are adapted to the local conditions and sufficient for the 3 weeks we were here. The Life Guard Ali, is very service oriented and helpful. The entertainment team is always in the hotel and organizes the evening program in the hotel which usually until 23 o'clock goes. If you are traveling with children you should look to get a room in the house 5, 6 or 7 (room numbers start with the number of houses) We recommend to book excursions and experiences on the other hand and especially to compare and negotiate prices. All say good price just for you blabla that's the strategy behind it. Also, you should have an app at hand to convert the pounds into euros, to pay in pounds is usually cheaper. The 2 pools available are great, on the upper deck rather for adults, the pool below is more suitable for children.

The tourists are super nice. One has his rest can recover. The entertainers give incredible trouble and always have a smile on their face. However, the service left a lot to be desired. The food is ok and you have a lot of choice. If you want to do a lot in the hotel it is difficult here Bissle ... You can do water aerobics with an entertainer. Play billiards and such. But sports with devices unfortunately not. For a sun holiday but totally adequate.

Rooms are looking dated. Food was okay but choice was limited. Ideal location for the Emperor dive centre.

My 4 stars are for some positive sides and precisely sea with a beautiful coral reef where good snorkeling is done (on the other hand there is not a pier for which the barrier is stepped on); very nice and picturesque rooms; nice resort. Negative bad management that has repercussions on a menu that is not very well looked after; service practically almost non-existent; alcube areas corridors rooms without lighting as well as parts of the resort; the absurd that even if the pension is paid not even the water that is paid is included (usually paying 50 cents a 50 ml bottle another waiter had asked for 70..mah)

Very nice hotel, nice rooms in the oriental style, a paradise for divers, large dive center directly in the hotel, the diving boats dock directly in front of the hotel.

Staff rude . Rooms vile. All inclusive is only from 11am to 11pm. Staff no help whatsoever. Didn't arrive untill 1045pm and allowed 1 drink . Never go there again !!!!

Hotel alright Egyptian guests very rude and don't like queuing just push in and the guy serving lets them do it. Hence the poor star rating.

Terrible hotel, only the sea pleases the fish, we saw a lot, turtles, the dugong did not see, but we didn t swim far, probably, for this we did not see.

The lack of coordination between the hotel and the tourism company was lost a full day of accommodation between disputes and loud voices.
Only a feeling without evidence Foreigners are housed in the front rooms. We Egyptians are in the back rooms. I hope my conclusion is wrong

Port under construction, nice resort but very short short beach overlooking the harbor channel. Ergo the boats pass too close to the bathers.

Stayed for a day after a diving trip. Rooms are quite tired no Internet, only WiFi in lobby. Check in seemed to take ages and even though I was there for only a few hours, staff tried to walk into my room twice.

This was a lovely hotel with great food and helpful staff, sadly now the main offering is all inclusive and this means the service is difficult...eg for a glass of wine you can only have one whilst they are serving in the restaurant not at the bar. There is only one (smelly) bar so you can imagine the queues, and then you can only have a limited range of "cocktails" made with dubious spirits. The rest of the hotel is still clean and lovely and very well located for stepping on a boat to go diving, thanks Emperor!

Tidy hotel rooms clean something dated. Swimming pool unfortunately too cold but the sea is lovely. Nice snorkeling.
We have done a trip with Yalla excursion with Hossam to Luxor as driver everything was super arranged good driver tevredenvery satisfied.

Very bad experience unacceptable cooking we eat leftovers of 3/4 days dirty rooms non-existent animation, if you have to spend some money for this place it is better to stay at home, together with 6 other Italians we returned first from despair.

Everyone can have what they want here. Peace and quiet to relax or the hustle and bustle of Port Ghalib where you can take a water taxi. The hotel not too big clean rooms very friendly staff. A program is offered every evening. Food .. there is something for everyone and it also tastes very good.
All in all, they tried very hard to make it as pleasant as possible for us vacationers.
I will book a vacation at Marina Lodge again.

Hospitality and friendly good behavior stuff are the most important things you will see.

Great, food and drink. Sea and accommodation. Great snorkeling. There is a water taxi for 1.5euro / person across the sea and there are shops and a lookout tower and .... The staff is used to a $ 1 bakshi :)) In any case, they are more vztricnejsi and nice. They also do quite well massage here. For that money a great vacation. I recommend plum brandy in the morning and evening on an empty stomach.
