The majority of employees at this office are not knowledgeable, courteous or helpful. My first call attempt landed me with somebody totally incompetent who would just answer every question with the same 4 word response not matter what was asked. The conversation resembled a conversation you'd overhear in a mental institution (unfortunately I did not catch this person's name). On my second call I received a man named Alex as my representative. Alex is "most definitely" one of the most ignorant, unhelpful individuals I have ever encountered. He "most definitely" does not know anything about his job and is prepared to give you incorrect information costing you money instead of an honest answer to avoid any minor inconvenience to himself. He tries to appear intelligent but fails miserably. He is "most definitely" the quintessential government employee and is a complete drone incapable of an original thought. The Maricopa County Treasurer's Office should reconsider the terms of Alex's employment before it becomes too costly to terminate him. Two stars because on my 3rd call attempt a lovely individual named Yvonne was able to help resolve my issue in 1 minute after listening to the 2 sentence problem. This was apparently too much mental energy for the previous two representatives to expend.

Careful with the property taxes. I bought a property a few years ago and just found out today that there was $56.00 owed in taxes on it before I even owned it. No letters, no notices. They were going to sell it at auction in January. I own it outright. So if you pay your taxes from the slips that they send you in the mail I would urgently suggest that you go online and check that there are not any old liens on it or they will steal your property.

My company paid 100% of the taxes due on our prope...

My company paid 100% of the taxes due on our property. The check cleared on 12/2/2019. We sold an easement to the City of Mesa at the end of 2019.. I received a late notice with interest stating we had not paid our taxes. I called the customer service help line in June 2020. The county created a new parcel number by adding an A to the end of the old number. Our payment was sitting on the old account number without the A. We never received a bill for the account with the A until we got the late notice. The first person I talked to was very nice and instructed me to send an email explaining that the money needed to be moved from the old account number to the new account number. I sent that email in June. Now weeks later, the money still has not been moved. I called again and was told that the county is not responsible to notify us of the amount due. We are responsible to make sure the taxes are paid. THE TAXES WERE PAID!
We had no notice that a new account number had been created. We paid the taxes that were due and billed for that property and thought everything was taken care of. I was told that we are liable for the interest even though we actually overpaid the taxes. Now the new customer service rep has to submit a form to have this researched and that can take 7 to 8 weeks. This is such a waste of my time, the county's time and resources. Someone should have been able to see the taxes were paid and are sitting on another account. The interest should be waived and our over payment should be refunded. It should not take this much effort to correct the posting of a payment.

So convenient. I can pay online or bring my tax stub to any Chase located in Arizona and pay my tax bill. Also, I love receiving e-notices! When I visit my family in China I never have to worry about missing my tax bill.

Treasurer applied a tax payment (with the proper APN number in Memo) to another property I owned. Spent hours on the phone and MONTHS and (letters I had to take time to write) tracking down the payment for the property that it was not applied to, was assessed late fees because taxes weren't paid then told I had to write ANOTHER letter to get late fees back. How rude and unprofessional to waste my time like this.

After reading reviews was little hesitant about going. I can honestly say my experience was very pleasant. From receptionist to tax specialist Arthur and his assistant were very helpful. Took the time to walk my mom and I through the process And explain any questions we had. Once again thank you very much.

I have absolutely no idea what the email I received from this office is about. I have not lived in or owned property in Maricopa Country in nine years. Is this some sort of scam? Maybe Joe should look into the goings on at the Treasurer's Office. Maybe they are just stupid in this office!

Service is ok from my experience, what I don't like is that they structure the notices/webpage to push the status quo chain of leadership. No fresh blood in this government organization, which is typical. They have the deputy Treasurer queued up in all the materials to take over for the current treasurer in the next election. This ensures continuity in organizational goals, but doesn't serve the taxpayers interests...

The service you used to provide, wherein you sent a statement of taxes due, date, payment stub, etc, was excellent & much appreciated. Now I have to struggle to pay online, find a pay stub, the amount, the date, the address, etc. Your web site is confusing, overloaded. Why did you ever change? Why did you "fix" something that wasn't broken?

Terrible - Terrible service. They put me on hold for 15 minutes, then disconnected me. If I am ever lucky enough to get through, they can't answer my questions. Obviously, they aren't hired for their brains.

typical moronic government institution. every year i keep having the same problem with these cretins. my insurance company sends in my tax payment a whole MONTH before its due every year and these people never seem to receive it and send me late payment notices. i have to call in every year with proof of payment and then miraculously they find it and post it to my account. their website is a terrible joke. get a new server so it can take a load of more than 10 people visit at a time. typical of any govt run institution.

Looks like I am not the only one that received a bogus delinquent property tax notice. A waste of my time and source of unwarranted stress. To make matters worse, there is no way to send email to the Treasurers office and when calling the phone number listed all you get is a voice announcement complaining about how busy they are and directing you to their WEB site. Mr. Treasurer, you need to tighten up your ship! Who do you think I will be voting for next election?
