I get that its college and I like the school but its completely unfair to online students that professors require you to do long assignments and pile on extra work during the thanksgiving break while students that attend the school dint have to worry about long homework assignments during the break. Then they also have next week to turn in the work where the online students have to have it turned in by the weekend of the break not leaving much time to do anything else. I have been to other colleges and they are fair when it comes to breaks but every year UHV has found a way to ruin my holiday with too much work on break therefore why even give us a holiday break if the school cant make it possible for you to spend time with your family.

The MBA course used to be good in face to face classes but due to fall in enrollment, UHV has now reduced the requirements from 48 credit hours to 36 credit hours. They had already reduced the face 2 face classes in favor of online classes (which are not of good quality). Looks like the sole focus of UHV is to make money by catering to students who care more about getting a degree than actually learning any skills.

I have to pay for this school, like why?????

I have to pay for this school, like why?????
I'm not rich at all like I have always had to pay every semester and idk why. It's so hard being a student and working a full time job just to pay for school while others don't have to worry about it at all....
I think I went wrong somewhere.

Disappointed with the students, dorms, food, professors, classes, and campus. They made it seem so great when I was applying, but after applying it was almost impossible to get financial aid to tell me what they needed from me document wise. I did not enjoy my online classes as the professors had a tendency to be rude. Students weren t very friendly either. Victoria is a nice town too, but there isn t much to do and it s kind of boring after the first week. I would give it zero stars if I could.

I just transferred here, but I have had friends that have graduated from this institution, they loved it, and now I know why. This is the best University I have attended, and I have attended plenty in Houston, TX. They have been the more supportive, responsive, and accurate university I have ever attended. Their degrees are not overwhelmingly hard to understand and follow. They have amazing professors. Plus everyone that I have met that has graduated from this university, which are a couple of my friends, have an amazing career in oil industry. I cannot complain on how much this school has helped me in just a few months I have attended. Thank you UHV.

If I could put no stars I would. I have spent the last 3 years trying to get things done at this college. My son was taking courses and we were okay until the last year of his degree. He had one course that was a on-line course required for graduation. It is only offered once a year. He signed up for it and it didn't make. He had to call to find out about the course not making. They did not notify him. This was a required course for graduation that is only offered once a year and they didn't have it! This was the only course he needed to graduate! We had to write to the President of the College and while he offered apologies..the course did not come up again until the following year. We had to write again to get the course offered. After completing the course, we waited for a diploma. No diploma. We didn't apply for it in time. Apparently you have to apply in February for spring graduation. Applied for summer graduation. this is now November and we have not received the diploma. We kept calling to find out why and were constantly reassured that it was mis-delivered and we would get it. Today, he drove the 2 hour trip to Victoria and found that they had placed a hold on the diploma because of a fee they had never told him about. Even after the phone calls about not receiving the diploma...NO ONE checked to see why it had not been issued. No idea now when the diploma will come. But it has taken 2 years to get one on line course and almost 6 months to find out why his diploma has not arrived. Do yourself a favor and NEVER ATTEND THIS SCHOOL.

Absolutely the worst experience trying to enroll. I gave up last year after being accepted due to lack of communication and help. Just left office today and it's a bunch of college workers with not a single clue what's going on. Could not answer a single question about the online bachelors fast track degree. Waste of time trying to take anything with UHV. In parking lot at the moment typing this before driving to San Antonio to register classes with St. Mary's. Do yourself and your blood pressure a favor and skip UHV. Trust me you'll be glad you did!

As a graduate, most professors care liberally for students. Education degrees are specific, but this is a worldly public school so dont expect any wisdom from God. The professors have love for students however. It would be nice if someone let there be a chapel on campus.

Ive been accepted into the RN to BSN program and so far the financial aid department has totally dropped the ball. They are extremely slow at responding (like weeks) and that's only because I've been calling. Everything else has been good, but I can't get over how I have been emailing them for weeks with no response.

I used to love this school. I decided to get my BBA from here and after doing so in 2018 I decided to go back for my MBA. Today would have been graduation day. It s sad that this school did NOTHING to support the graduates of 2020. I understand COVID and how dangerous it is. However, there should have been an accommodation of some sort to show the graduates of 2020 your appreciation. Whether it had been a slide show on the school website, or a virtual graduation showing the graduates photos on television. It s a shame after all the hard work that we ve done, no one cares. They feel that it is okay to send us programs AFTER graduation day. I definitely will not recommend this school to anyone I know, just for the simple fact that I myself have to show my friends and family my accomplishment since the school failed to make us feel appreciated!!

**This is from my online experience NOT in person**
Overall my experience here wasn't the best, but it wasn't as horrible as I had experienced with the previous university. For the MOST PART the professors I had were good, but they were either good professors or they were HORRIBLE, there was no in between. The reason I'm giving this three stars is because I'm having to drop out because I don't have 2 accounting classes, which means I have to be a transient at a different college for 1-2 semesters and pay out of pocket (which I can't do) all because of TWO classes. The reason is because they don't offer lower level classes here at all, but especially online where it's even more limited. I work full time so I can't attend school in person. But when I entered the Human Resources Management (HRM) program I was told that it was available fully online and that I would be able to complete the degree with all the classes I already had. This was a lie, which I find out when I only have 2 semesters left before I graduate. Now, I'm having to drop with only 2 semesters (nearly one year) left all because I was lied to about the program at the beginning before I applied. Everyone here (meaning financial aid, admin. people, etc.) were very nice, but they lied just to get me into the school. Overall, don't attend here unless you have every last one of your lower level classes completed or you'll end up like me over 2 accounting classes that you can't complete. Very frustrating.

Wife likes the place, very clean, nice parking area, students need to watch were the hell they are walking and get off the phone while driving!

Edit, from what I understand this school is trying to push for a $1000.00 parking pass. This would be mandatory for all students even for the ones that go to this school online. Scam! I could understand 25-150$ if they really needed to enforce a parking permit but damn!

I don't know which school these others are talking about but it sure isn't UHV. The staff are constantly putting down students, verbally abusing them and making fun of them because they don't share their liberal beliefs.
This school is a sham and should be shut down rather than be called an "Institute of Higher Learning". The only thing I've learned is GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT TO LEARN.
After complaining to the dean of students and other faculty I have decided I'd rather just get a job flipping burgers now, than have people laugh at the diploma this place gives. If you come here, good luck because you're going to need it.
