I love this hotel!!
It's clean beautiful and close by a lot of locations. The service was great, I didn't had any issues. Will visit again.

I had drinks and dinner at Muse at the Mandarin. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was relaxed and the views of the city made the experience that much better, even if it meant being a little removed from it all.

At the time of this review, I've only been to the Mandarin for it's restaurant, Muze. I can say the general atmosphere of the hotel was very nice though. The doormen showed me right to the restaurant when I told them I was there for a dinner reservation. The service was exceptional. I was greeted at my table by a waiter who addressed me by name (as I had made an online reservation through OpenTable). We also got an interesting amuse bouche from the chef before our appetizer. My date and I opted for pretty standard dishes split across the East and the West (Main Lobster XO and Filet Mignon, our own surf and turf if you will). Honestly, it was one of the better steaks I've had in my life. I would definitely come here again.

Originally, I wanted to give 4 stars for the reasons stated below but on second thought, this hotel was still very nice and deserving of 5 stars -- I just think they could do better given my experience at another Mandarin.

I would say this is a fantastic hotel and the service was excellent. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is that I've also stayed at the Boston location and the Boston Mandarin was better. For instance, in Boston there was turn down service, which was really nice. Either the service doesn't exist in DC or they didn't offer it. Moreover, the location of the DC Mandarin is a bit boring, there isn't much in the immediate surrounding. It's probably fine for those who want to stay near the airport, but for a younger professional who enjoys a good work trip but also likes to see the city, I would have preferred a better location. Over all, though, the DC Mandarin is a great choice with great staff.

Stayed here for one night, the food offered in one of the lobies restaurants was amazing. The waitors were very helpful and kind.
My main issue with the stay was how one of the guests next to us decided to smoke "something" during the night. Because of this I wasn't able to sleep due to all that smell coming over.
Upon check out i had to take all of our luggage and items down myself since assistance was taking too long.

Not returning anytime soon.

Good service and attention to detail. My party ordered the dan dan noodles, the bowl was too hot. It didn't burn her, just it kept the food so hot she was literally blowing on the noodles.... even at the end of the meal.

This review concerns the sub par performance of the hotel to manage vehicles in the traffic circle at the main entrance. I took Uber to the hotel. When the Uber driver entered the traffic circle, she encountered vehicles parked illegally on the left and right drive lanes. It took 15 minutes for her to get to the halfway point in the traffic circle. I exited the UberX and walked the rest of the way. Hotel staff made no attempt to keep traffic moving. Hotel staff made no attempt to discourage illegal parking. I am sure this is not a one-off occasion. I believe this is routine.

Just terrible service. For a place that charges $600/night you expect top level service. I stayed there for 5 days in Oct and the front desk made mistake after mistake. The billed me only about half the charges when I checked out, but then added two charges to my credit card for several thousand dollars. It took three phone calls to sort this out, each time of course getting another person on the line who needed to be told the whole story again. At no point in time they did offer to fix this and call me back when it was done. They would just keep me on infinite holds. Front staff seems to be largely staffed by people with zero experience.

The hotel had horrible customer service. The staff did not respect me or my wishes and told me that maid service wasnt responsible for taking out the garbage which was ridiculous. The walls of the hotel are very thin and you could hear your next door neighbors or people above you. Worse hotel experience I have EVER had! Run away from this hotel if you have high expectations!

Wonderful event venue, although limited on space of you are expecting larger attendance. I enjoyed the facilities and the decor was stunning!
I also enjoyed lunch at the lobby bar and it was excellent as well. Service
by the hotel staff and sales team was outstanding.

Always wanted to stay at a Mandarin, and decided to finally do it during a weekend trip to DC. All of my expectations were exceeded! The staff is first class, and the customer service from the moment you arrive until you check-out is on another level.

The immediate surroundings of the hotel do leave a little to be desired in the way of activities, but the reno'd wharf and subsequent new stores/restaurants are only a 2 block walk, so there's that.

The aesthetics of the building itself and the interior design are exceedingly classy. My suite was gorgeous, and the food (both in-room and in the restaurant) was fantastic. You really feel special when staying here.

Mandarin hotels will definitely be on my priority stay list when traveling, and my Friends of M.O. membership will be getting a full workout.

I had the good fortune to spend a weekend here and visit the spa. It is a high end hotel with very excellent views of the city. Here you can have the pleasure of observing unobstructed the Washington monument while sitting on the loo.

Staying in a Executive Suite with a Club Lounge upgrade will create a very special Washington DC experience. Tip: Make sure to request a Potomac River View on a high floor for those great views! The Muze restaurant in the hotel is wonderful as well!
