Not a great place to shop. The layout is all wrong and the traffic guidelines are not enforced. It's a free-for-all for selfish and inconsiderate shoppers.

An unpleasant shopping experience in an out of the way area

You always need to scout for floor assistance Makro Ottery

Always very crowded. Items all over the place. Very long queues.

Makro in Ottery always has pricing missing, so frustrating when you just want to get in shop and get out.

Love the specials, store layout good, shelves stocked, only problem I have with Ottery is when I can't find a assistant for a isle and have to ask the power tool or camping staff to assist as they always there... However staff usually Profesional and friendly

Makro is an institution in Cape Town. Good deals for consumers and retails alike. The liquor outlet has a massive range and really good pricing. Their range of single mails whisky is one of the best in Cape Town.

Makro is not the cheapest even when buying in bulk. Also beware when purchasing electronic products. If they are faulty, it is sent back to the manufacturer to be assessed and repaired. You could wait up to months and in that time Makro holds onto your money. I had problems with an amplifier with faulty mics. I needed the unit for an event and I had to purchase other mics because I couldn't get my money back to purchase elsewhere.

I was extremely impressed with this store's overall professionalism during lockdown. They ensured that people in the queue waiting outside kept their safe distances between each other. Their staff members were very friendly and helpful.

So ... my husband and I were not assisted like we expected to be assisted.
WE were enquiring about the OVHD Decoder.
Two of MAKRO staff members did not know how to assist us ( no knowledge regarding the enquiry) and a third member (with both hands in the air) said he did not know and that he was sure that there were no more in stock.
We persisted and then another staff member was then asked to check.
After checking, he actually found one. Apparently, the stock arrived this morning.

In my opinion, staff need extensive training (or more training) in CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Bad experience. Checkout staff grumpy and not properly trained.

Bad products, the 3rd time I'm taking stuff back. Brand new grinder out of the box failure

Not the best place for Xmas shopping when 5 tills are open and 2 are not working.. sad face

Got some amazing deals for jik, Ariel pods, skip liquid 1.5 l, 3 for R120. They seem to also have a produce section, so all grocery shopping can be done here. Also had a nice selection of sale items.

ANSWER YOUR PHONES!!! And, be warned, don't even try and order online, I waited over a month for a cooker to be delivered that according to the website was in stock.

The liquor store is selling Carina beer at R200/box but beware it has expired

Everything you want and need from a wholesaler, you will find it conveniently at Makro. Prices are not the nicest though for a big wholesaler.

This is the only Makro this side of town, serving the South Peninsula, if I am not wrong there are only three Makro's here (Cape Town)!

Makro bottle store was too busy and no air con which made the shopping experience unpleasant. However the staff were brilliant! Especially Gail the supervisor with her follow up

It's huge! There's probably nothing they don't sell, except if you're looking for small quantities.

Love the variety....the queues can give you a scare, however they have super employees who work their tills super fast.....pack up patience in your bag :)

You always get a bargain at Makro but you must always look for someone to help you take stuff off the high shelves ie someone with a hyster and it takes sometimes up to 10-20 minutes

The young man who helped me icw my memory card n subsequently allowed me to pay for all my goods instead of standing in the long queue n the smiling teller was a pleasant surprise

A large variety of fruit and vegatables on the shelves with plenty of combo deals. The queue is long but moves very quickly. The staff is friendly and helpful. Be very careful purchasing combo deals as everytime I have purchased these deals, the fruit and vegatables have a very short life span than usual.

Large selection of products. Forklift trucks seem to block too many isles making navigation a little tricky. Overall a good shopping experience.

For my own safety, I don't like that hysteria driving up and down there while people is shopping. Why not doing your loadups and off loads earlier or the previous night. It's annoying when shop and you must still lookout for hysters?

Friendly staff.Great specials. Just a couple of things. Its very cluttered and filthy. Horrible smell in the parking areas and inside the shop.

Great for prices. Was a bit busy due to Covid 19 but they were taking all the necessary precautions.

Friendly staff, clean and nicely organised. A wide variety of items are available. Great offers and value for money.
My last experience ended with my car being broken into though.
I must say that Makro was helpful in the investigation, but are not liable for any losses. Ensure that you lock up tight and do not leave valuables in the car.

Negotiating the parking is crazy. Vehicles just park anywhere obstructing your entrance and exit. Don't go there often any more after changes in road opposite fire station

I had my hands on a second day of black friday deals.
