It's Makro, it's not supposed to be fancy but I can't stand the non customer focused floor merchandising staff and the chaos of to-be-packed stock.

Perhaps I don't know how to value a low priced bulk outlet appropriately.

The office staff are polite, super helpful and problem solvers. As is the help desk. They are a great team.

I appreciate the loads of parking.

They have everything that you can imagine. For appliances, there are usually the specialist for the specific brands on the floor. The lines can be a bit of a nightmare though and they do no have carrier bags (perhaps this has changed). So, all your products are packed straight into a trolley.

Assistance was nowhere to be found and when I did eventually get simeone, I was sent in the wrong direction, came back to the same aisle and the guy unpacking went to "look for the snowflake cake mix" never to return.

Update to your response. I do not want to deal with anyone from your Ottery Branch. I would like to deal with a different manager and Kenwood as I was made aware that Makro cannot DIRECTLY assist me with this issue.
I have been in contact via email, phone and in person!

Worst Experience at Makro Ottery!! Purchased a Kenwood Chef that has never been used. Upon opening it. There were dough and the machine was obviously used. I emailed and sent pictures of this used machine. This is my email to Makro Care.

"Hi Makro,

I am extremely disappointed with my purchase at your Ottery Store.

I recently purchased a Kenwood Kitchen Machine KM280 series 900w 4.3 litre Prospero from your store at the Ottery Branch.

Today I opened it for the first time, because as you know, I am preparing for Eid tomorrow and needed to use use my 'NEW' stand mixer. Upone opening the box, that had 'brown tape around it' (this was not as big of an issue as the floor staff assured me that they just opened it up to show a customer and everything is brank new and working. I have been wanting this appliance for a while now, and knew that I needed it for today, and jumped at the opportunity to finally purchase it with my hard earned savings.

Upon opening my 'brank New' appliance, to my surprise, discovered parts of it has already been used, if not all.

Being Muslims I would like to use it for Eid tomorrow and I am terrified at the thought of what it could have been used for as certain food products are prohibited in my religion.

I have always been a strong supporter of Makro and Kenwood and want this product more than anything. So it pains me that I have been done such a dis service by your store.

Please let me know what further measures will be done by your to aid in my distress, please note, that I would really like a brank new machine that has never been used.

Should I contact Kenwood? Or will this problem be resolved by the store.

If not, I will take further measures, and place this image all over social media.

I would appreciate if we could handle this amicably."

This was my email to Makro. We opened it again and it did not work, we brought the machine in as it was not working. Bare in mind that we NEVER NEVER used the machine.
I am so dissapointed. Never been more disappointed in Makro or Kenwood.
The manager Edwin Boer refused to allow me to give the machine back in for Garuntee and Warrenty.

We are now sitting with a broken machine. The manager tested it and it 'works' according to him. So he refuses to send it away and he has the final say.
The service was extremely poor I can't stress this enough.
I WANT a new Kenwood Machine as I paid for a NEW machine. If I wanted a old machine I would have bought it from somebody second hand.

My trolly was all over the place wheels not going straight a young gentleman unpacked a full trolley of tinned goods to give me a smooth driving trolly . Before that a lady employee assisted me with a trolly without me asking as she saw I was walking with goods in my arms (goods that was not on my buying list hence I had no trolly)

Everything you can need under one roof. From groceries to electronics to appliances to clothing to outdoor and gym equipment. Awesome deals and savings.

Only issue we always have is that theres always atleast one isle closed because of forklift operations and that quite hampers your shopping experience. Unfortunately it's not a once off experience its every single time you go there.

DONT BUY FROM MAKRO

Honestly the most pathetic customer service I've ever experienced.

I've been trying to return a faulty product for the past month, I've sat on the phone for hours and hours. They first take 30 minutes to answer the phone, then they put you on hold for either another 20 minutes or sometimes infinity - just putting you on hold until your phone dies or you give up after 40 minutes.

I've spoken to a few people, all clearly useless. Unfortunately dont have most of their names. Qinisekile Masuku was the first, that sent me one email and then never got back to me.

I've seriously lost my patience with this pathetic company and will be returning their poor quality product myself it seems.
