I enjoyed my stay with Shang Makati and so with my friends and family during my brief stay in Manila. Hotel was clean, staff are helpful and friendly. Circles buffet was a bonus as it was 50% off when we were there. My only critic is that The Lounge menu isn't as good enough as of The Lobby at The Pen. Menu needs serious updating! Also the wine and drinks list are too limited. Another thing, upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade to a suite room but with a charge of P4,500??? That's not clearly a way to entice your guests! But overall, great stay but I will think twice if I want to come back.

I enjoyed my stay everytime in Shangri La. House keeping guy Mayne is extremely nice and humble, he always fix my room as I expected. The only thing I didnt like was 15 floor room I stayed in - too much noise fire alarm elevator button not working etc... I will be returning back next year April 2019 and would like to stay floor 19 or above.

It was a wonderful stay to celebrate the holidays. Customer service is always exceptional - from the valet staff to the reception team to the rest of the personnel manning the hotel. I would have given a 5-star rating if not for a few minor mix-up, for example, I requested a roll-away bed at the time of my booking. Even the receptionist (during check-in) mentioned that there was a set-up in the room, but all we found was the king bed and a sofa bed that wasn't set up. So I had to call to request for an additional sheet cover. Housekeeping did set it up for us...thank you. But then an hour later a hotel staff came knocking at the door with a roll-away bed...I just have to decline it (even if it was the kind of bed I expected) since the sofa bed is already setup.

But again, it's the people that made our stay comfortable and would make us want to come back.

My wife and I had a good time during our stay here at Makati Shangri-La. The receptionist, named Jayson, was very accommodating. He even helped me out in locating our godparent, Engr. Demetrius Advincula. I just had one observation during our breakfast, last April 9(Monday and also Holiday), there are only few waiters and waitresses at that time to accommodate several people. I called the attention of one waiter, and he gladly responded upon hearing my observation. The following day, we had observed the increased number of waiters and waitresses to served us. Over-all, we loved and enjoyed our stay.

Overall your staff from the time we embarked your hotel lobby are hospitable. They are beyond comparable to other luxury hotels.
My only hope for the selection of entrees at the breakfast buffet. There were no low fat fish dishes such as fish paksiw or just plain broiled fish.

This hotel allows guests to wait in line at the Registration for a long time. I waited >15 minutes to be served. After a long flight this MUST NOT occur if your hotel is 5 star hotel, if. Should always have a provision that no guest should be waiting greater than few minutes

I asked for mangoes a my choice of daily fruit but all I got was bananas

he lost and found if quite inept. Similar experiece with long wait at the Registration. I called ahead and advised that I left an item and the room (which was secured by the hotel) however they had me wait >15 minutes for the item to come down from "heaven"

Snagri La needs to match the service provided by Manila Peninsula, in my book you are way behind overall.

I drove to check in by myself and I was told I cannot park my car. Where the hell do you want me to park my car with my internationl suitcases in them. Must provide a spot for registering guests .. This type of service reminds me of Motel 6 service.

The stay was lovely and service was excellent. The breakfast has an extensive selection of items and the lunch buffet is also very nice.

I enjoyed both the room and all facilities related to the conference I participated in (food, drinks and facility).

My trouble with leaking bathroom was quickly handled and my room was changed right away which was very nice of the hotel.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Even the room attendants are so attentive to our needs. Buffet is awesome, they easily run out of pandesal (dinner roll) which are great. And Circles buffet attendants always keeps an eye and ready to assist patrons thats not familiar with the setting. Overall a great stay for me and my wife who just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. BZ (Bravo-Zulu a military term means (well done)). Al Salazar

It has been over ten years since the last time and...

It has been over ten years since the last time and service hasn't changed at all, all very good but the facilities are too old and haven't improved much yet. The room we're in had old fungus smell.
Not enough electric outlet and almost no internet outlet.

The Hotel is showing its age and needs a up grade but the location and the professionalism of the staff keep us coming back to Makati Shangri-La ! Janet L.Navoa ,[house keeping supervisor] had fresh flowers sent to our room ,which really brightened up the room and made our stay so much more pleasant! The staff who cleaned our rooms and accommodated our request with out delay.
We have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the last 5 years and intend to in the future ! We feel safe in the hotel and can truly enjoy our stay in Manila!

Makati Shangrila is the worst hotel I have stayed with in Asia, its too crowded and felt like a public market wherever you go! I have to wait for 2 hours just to get in to the breakfast room. I expected something better for the price I paid. Will never go back to this hotel!

Had a terrific experience overall. The room was massive, comfortable and immaculate. Pool is unencumbered and rejuvenating. Staff, particularly Roselle at the front desk during the evening/morning was extremely resourceful and respectful. Thanks again!

Makati Shangri-La will always be my favorite hotel...

Makati Shangri-La will always be my favorite hotel. I love the big rooms and the big, comfortable beds, as well as the large bathroom with a separate shower stall and a deep bath tub. The service is impeccable. Love the breakfast selections at Circles. When I enter the lobby, I always feel like I'm being given a grand welcome because of the iconic grand staircase at the lobby. Very ideal location since it is just across the Glorietta mall, The Landmark and Rustan's department stores and a few minutes walk to Greenbelt.

Words better than shangri la the fort. Better staff better food, basically better in almost every way. Good location because youll be infront of a mall and small convenience stores. All in all, it's a good place to be.

The Makati ShangriLa is a fantastic hotel and has remained a great hotel since I got married there in 2005. The decor has remained the same since then, but the service is great across the whole hotel. Everyone is nice, always with a smiling face. The front desk staff is very courteous and responsive to your needs and will find creative solutions to accommodate you. Ms. Tata Santos a manager in front desk was very kind to me and I want her recognized.

Excellent stay once again. Nice smooth check in on the Horizon floor. Please to note, as in June during our last stay that high definition cable tv channels are provided.

The totally quiet air conditioning ventilation is also excellent. Even while in bed we could not hear it operating.

While we enjoyed the Horizon club access, we felt that the afternoon tea could do with a greater selection of snacks, possible some sandwiches, as they do in the Conrad Manila executive lounge.

In respect of the room, the only improvement I would suggest is replacement of the shower fittings. The shower heads are far from ideal.

Nevertheless, the Makati Shangri La still has that magical feeling. Its a special place.

Understandably due to the high volume of guests, the tipi and kids bar set-up wasn't immediately complete upon entering the room. It would have been nice though for the kids to see it upon opening the doors to the room.

Overall, the experience was relaxing and comfortable.

Shangrila hotels anywhere in the world is always a go-to place. Nice lobby, good drinks, good music. Was at Makati Shang 2pm down, March 9, and the music was fantastic. Serious chamber music--string quartet. I regretted I did not find out what group they were. Let me know if someone has knowledge of it.

We are very pleased with the service your team had showed us . From the front office team who assisted us during check in , to the GSO who helped us in preparing our needs for the proposal , to Ms Rhea of Lobby Lounge who agreed with our request for the surprise and to the corcierge who helped me in delivering the final step of our engagement proposal. All the staff are accommodating and very nice. Sitting at the mezzanine while listening to the piano playing is very relaxing. Perfect for quality time together with your loved one.

What really touched us in our stay is the surprise complimentary gift we received for our anniversary. It was soo sweet.

Would highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful Weekend (the package we had during our stay is perfect for family to get to relax and bond. We almost had 2 days of stay since the package includes early check-in at 10am and late check out at 4pm. Plus the dining credit which we used in our dinner at the Circles. So worth it!

Although a hotel with a great name, the Makati Shangri-La is a bit of a disappointment in terms of room maintenance. The hotel does also look rather old and worn and does not live up to the high standards of other Shangri-La hotels. Although the location is perfect, there is a lot to be done to bring this hotel back to its former glory. Particular areas of improvements are the bathrooms (shower and toilet area) but also the rest of hotel is in need of attention.

Our short stay was very good. Our suite was very comfortable and all to the quality standards shangri-La is known for. We had the lunch buffet on Christmas day. The variety of food offerings was excellent. We had access at the Horizon club. Service was excellent at the club but the furnitures are so worn out and needs to be replaced or the club needs renovation or upgrade.

The hotel was very good. The rooms are quite specious with everything you need for comfortable stay. My only comment is the cleanness of the bathroom, this could be improved. However, the staff were very attentive and friendly.
Breakfast is very good with lots of choices to suite every nationality. However, serving of tea and coffee was a bit slow. It could be better of customers serve themselves with hot drinks.

Smelly room. The room smelled of smoke and stale air. The same smell had got embedded into the bed linen / blanket etc. So every time I would shake and pull the blanket over me, I would get the smell from it. The air conditioning was too cold when I checked in first. That is very troublesome because the whole bed gets cold and sucks heat from your body all night. Everything else was good.

Overall very good. Your staff are not that nice or helpful to be honest. When I went to the lounge on 24 to do some email and work I had a Starbucks coffee with me. Your staff said I can not bring the coffee in and had to finish it first. Also every morning looking for any driver your people up front were very unhelpful. I had to do it myself. So not a world class experience. In the bar I had to find someone to order a drink but gave up and went to another bar outside your property. In the morning breakfast it was very difficult to get help you expect everyone to use the buffet. Stay at a Ritz if you want to see world class service.

The staff at the Horizon Lounge was great! Check-in and check-out was a breeze. They were especially helpful when my daughter and I had to come back for an additional night s stay (because our flight home was unexpectedly cancelled) and we were able to stay in our same room. We will definitely stay at the Sangri-La the next time we are in Makati!

Hotel should make it clearer prior to arrival that a guaranteed credit card is not equals to payment. My company had booked a room for me and guaranteed it to a card not under my name. Hotel staff kept insisting that I had to produce my company card if not it would be tagged to my own. Caused a huge hassle that it could not be put under credit. Honestly, if it's tagged to such a huge company like mine and we even have Shangri-La as a preferred vendor, we wont and cant run away. Marred my experience greatly.. Breakfast was also exactly the same the 3 days I ate...

It was not as I expected it to be. I arrived carrying 2 travelling bulky bags but no one even assisted nor asked if I need some help. The hotel needs a lot of refurbishings or even an interior designing for a new look, quite out-dated. Bathroom has no bidet. Bath tub is kinda small and no bubble bath. Aircondition is not that cold. Television is not netflix ready. The only good thing is that, front desk desk staff are very accomodating. For a 5 star hotel situated in Makati, I am expecting a value for money. Definitely not coming back.

The room was comfortable. Although I did notice that the bathtub wasn't as clean as I expected for the hotel of it's rating. Also, I noticed that the kettled seemed to have been recently used, because when I opened the lid, it was really moist, which was quite unexpected.

In addition, it would have been better if all the staff were aware of the set up with the service shuttle that was provided by Abbott. I experienced calling the operator, but she did not know the details about the shuttle service nor did the ushers that were in the entrance of the hotel, where the shuttle was waiting. It was only the Concierge who knew about it. Should all the staff concerned have been oriented regarding the details, it would have been less of a hassle.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed my comfortable stay and hassle free check in and check out. It was a good thing there was an exclusive early check in counter for the Abbott event attendees.

The staff were really nice and courteous. When I arrived, the concierge staff even asked me and offered assisstance with my luggage, even if it was only one bag with stroler and I could carry it on my own.

I really appreciated the complementary fruits in the room, which were a healthy option, unlike the cakes and pastries offered by other hotels; as well as the 3 bottles of complementary water, where other hotels only offer 2 bottles.

Given the chance, I would stay there again.

I m touched by the Ramadhan Iftar and Sahoor package. Also by the fruit basket and birthday cake; just a great touch to make guests feel a part of the Shangri-la family. Will certainly look forward to my next stay.

Stay is good but had problems with the bed; bed is worn out so I woke up with a back pain. Room requires renovation; carpet especially triggered my Brandon's allergy from dust. Also notice some insect bites on my 2 grandsons, one of them is only 6 months old.
