I attended this camp throughout my entire childhood, and every time I went I came back more confident and with new friends. It is a wholesome experience like no other centered around personal growth. The counselors are friendly and welcoming and there's never a dull moment. I truly love this place.

I love this place it is the best. I m 14 and have been going for years, I always have a great experience there. All counselors are welcoming and lovely, there are always 2-3 in a cabin and sometimes a CIT. The detector will check on campers during camp out nights. Some things like hikes are encouraged but their is always different paces to be set. I have never had a bad experience there and am going to be participating in LIT training soon. This place is so much fun and has lots of great activity s including tie-dye, rock-wall climbing, archery and many others. I will never forget my summers there and all the amazing people I shared it with.

Very good place for families. If you are searching for ski lessons along with tubing this is the best place. People are very kind and they are giving 100% effort to teach during ski lessons.

Our 11 year-old granddaughter had a bad cough and a fever when we picked her up after two weeks at camp. We took her to urgent care where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. The camp director confirmed that she had been treated by the nurse for fever on three days early in the week but her parents and/or my husband and I, her Colorado guardians, were never advised of her symptoms. Instead, this poor kid was forced to participate in all activities despite debilitating fatigue. Health and safety of campers should be a primary focus of the camping experience. We sent her to camp to have fun, not to suffer unnecessarily. APPALLING!

The staff, from the Director, to the Camp Counselors, to the Nurse, don t read or follow any instructions from parents or doctors regarding the children. They also don t allow parent to speak to their children, despite what their Parent Handbook and Camp Policies state. My son, who has Aspergers and ADHD, was mistreated here at camp and the Director wouldn t allow me to speak with him. I had to threaten to call the police to do a child welfare check in order to speak to him. When I was finally allowed to, he was sobbing hysterically and told me the the Camp Director wouldn t allow him to call. They also didn t give my child his prescribed medication, didn t follow or even read any of his medical background or requirements, and were downright rude to me. I don t recommend this camp to any child with any health issues. I wouldn t trust them or their safety procedures with any child, in fact. Do your research and read the reviews on Yelp and Google. Many parents have experienced this.

My sister and I went for the first time at ages 8 and 11 (I was 11) and I will never forget how I immediately felt welcomed. We did lots of fun activities like archery and drama and more. I will never forget the camp friends I made and how much I bonded with them. The food was amazing and there were lots of all camp activities and games. When I came home I was more confident in myself and others. The councilors and Cit s were kind and fun and I made lifelong memories. Camp Chief Ouray is by far my favorite place in the world. My sister and I are definitely returning next year to the amazing camp.
