This is the first time that I have had such an unpleasant experience in a Hotel of this standard.
Besides the fact that the air conditioning makes an infernal noise, hair was present in the bathroom sink, the door handle was broken, traces of scratches on all the door handles, a painting by a lady who looks you straight in the eye when you sleep .. and so on.

When I checked out, I was told that the reservation was fraudulent and that I had to pay the night. But nothing was told to me during the check on (business trip)

Unpleasant experience. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

During today's riot my spouse's daughter, her cousin & her friend were assaulted & robbed by bad "gilets jaunes" protesters in Paris 3 blocks from the Arc de Triump. A good gilet jaune helped the 3 ladies to safety in a near by restaurant. The cafe staff called the hotel for help. Masion Astor sent over a manager to escort the ladies safely back. Our whole family wishes to thank Manager Morgan Mondoloni & another staff member Thibaut for exceptional service under dire conditions.

Not quite the normal Hilton experience I ve come to know. First off, when I arrived at the hotel at 11:30am to drop off my bags since I knew check in wasn t until 3:00, I was told that since I had already chosen a room (515) via the mobile app, they would expedite the cleaning and it should be available by 2:00pm. Upon returning at 2:30, the room wasn t ready and it wasn t until 3:45 that I was finally given a room, and it was a smaller room on a lower floor then the one I had chosen.

Second, the hotel only activated the A/C for summertime. When I visited it was 80 degrees outside which meant the rooms were warmer then normal. That meant having to sleep with the window to the courtyard open like everyone else. Once morning rolled around, you could hear other people s alarms going off as early as 5:45, and one went off until well after 6:15am.

I dined at the restaurant, the waiters are nice and the place is respectable. However, very disappointed with the meal, I had asked for a crozet risotto with the butcher's piece (200g), I received shells without explanations with a piece of approximately 100-120g (with an excellent sauce luckily) .. But for the price, value for money not very conclusive ..

First night and I have to say, I ve stayed at many Hilton s and many 4 star hotels in Paris. This hotel is neither a Hilton or a good 4 star hotel. The room is as I expected, however, walking in all I could smell was smoke. I booked but a terrace room but did not expect to see an ashtray on the terrace table in a non smoking hotel. Call downstairs advised ...well nothing that made any sense. No other rooms to move me to. TV had zero English channels. Not that I came to Paris to watch tv but I would like to get news and tennis updates. 4 conversations with reception and nothing adjusted and now they don t even return my calls. Last thing...what 4 star hotel in Paris has no cork screw or wine glass!! The Curio in Canary Wharf was fantastic, this one is certainly not!

This hotel is excellent . Great location and wonderful, attentive staff who spoke English very well. All the staff here were very welcoming and happy to help us with anything we needed. Thank you especially to Jaklin , Clement #1, Dennis and Thibaut for making our stay so lovely and for going above and beyond our expectations. I ve stayed at many Hiltons in many different locations, and the staff here was by far the most delightful. The location was also perfect. Not too touristy, clean, and the friendliest locals out of all the areas we visited in Paris. We will certainly be back soon !

The hotel is really nice and clean. The staff are friendly too and very helpful but this is our first time staying at a Hilton hotel where the AC is not activated. I know it's not summer yet but it's spring and it's warm in the room. We always go on vacation every May for his birthday and we always stay at Hilton hotels because he is a member of Hilton Honors. This is our first time in Paris and this vacation is to celebrate my dad's birthday. He's having a hard time sleeping because it's hot in the room even though we already have our windows open. I hope they can give us an electric fan tomorrow especially when we are staying for a week.<br/>This is our fourth day and we haven't had a good sleep because the hotel would occasionally turn off the air conditioning at night. The website said that it has air conditioning for comfort. Also, they didn't give us a fan.
Final update: Out of six nights, they only activated the air conditioning at night for two nights.

All the staff were very helpful and accommodating! Gave us a surprise cakes and champagne when we arrived (for my birthday). Very nice! The building and rooms are beautiful. Another aspect that stood out and I can't really explain (but liked very much) is it is absolutely silent at all times, inside and outside. We had a balcony (with a great view of Paris) and each time I stepped out to enjoy the view it was completely silent outside. even though we are close to a number of historical landmarks. And 1.5 blocks away from great restaurants and a store (Monoprix) that has grocery items and even clothes if you need them (google Monoprix and the restaurants are surrounding it). Overall, a great hotel experience.

I stayed at Maison Astor with my friends. The hotel crew are friendly and very accommodating especially the concierge staff. They are exceptional! And if you want to eat somewhere with really good French cuisine you should ask them, they can lead you to the best there is in the city. They know those real awesome places!

As for the hotel, the room itself is bigger than expected (in Paris) and more beautiful, though poorly lit which for me who wants to really take a rest and do the plunge on the bed after a long day don t mind at all. The bed is comfortable, relaxing and homey. The mini fridge in our room was really useful.

We had a misfortune during our stay which doesn t really involve the hotel, but the hotel staff made sure we won t have such ugly memory of Paris. We are extremely grateful for all their help especially to Morgan and Thibaut.

If I get back to Paris, I ll definitely stay at Maison Astor again. The warmth and welcoming vibe from the hotel and its crew are outstanding.

Room reserved on the Internet but key given on request, shower and toilet not cleaned over three days, reception staff unable to give any information whatsoever about the city or the hotel itself, over-heated room,
70 per night for one person, we finally understand the price, even if it is expensive for what it is and the stars are not deserved.

It is a simple, comfortable, very central hotel with friendly staff, comfortable rooms.

I booked the hotel through the application and since I'm a gold level at Hilton I was granted a room upgrade - from a double bed to a king.

Galleries Lafayette, Place de la Concorde, restaurants, Orsay Museum are within a 15-20 minute walk. It was a comfortable stay.

Loved my family stay here. Great location! Such a historical hotel. The former Astor residence converted to a beautiful classic hotel. I had the roof suite and a regular room for my family. Lots of space for a European room. I loved the breakfast simple but good quality food. I definitely recommend staying here. I will again next time we are here.

Wonderful hotel!

Wonderful hotel!

I just have a quick comment about the alarm clock in the bedroom that went off at 5 a.m. Probably the alarm clock of the former occupant who forgot to be reset.

But overall a superb hotel in a typical building in the Madeleine district.

Only the location is prime!breakfast is only limited selection compare to other Hilton brand! Internet and air condition is barely functional!free like in a motel which located in heart of Paris!lol

Wonderful memory for 100 days anniversary for my son.

- The room is cold despite of super hot outside
- Very kind and helpful staff !!
- Super kind for baby and many things available for baby
- safe and quiet in spite of Paris central

I'm disappointed current Hilto service, but this hotel overcome my mind !
I have to come back again.

Superb this hotel, pleasant and courteous staff, top room service, comfortable room and bedding, the only downside is the layout of the bathroom, the toilets, space too narrow.
The location is ideal for visiting Paris otherwise I recommend to

The building and the rooms are truly beautiful, and the staff is very nice and helpful. They have a good command of English. The rooms are small, but you're unlikely to be spending a ton of time there if you're a tourist anyway. There's a coffee/hot water machine and tea in the room, which is a great way to end a long day of exploration. There isn't a ton of English language television on their cable, but you do get CNN International.

They lost a star mainly for the location. It was several minutes' walk to any given Metro station, which would be fine (a little annoying with luggage, but fine), except it's kind of a business-y district. Thus, the streets are pretty dead when you're coming back to the hotel even at 8 or 9PM. When traveling alone, this does not feel super safe. On the plus side, the hotel is only ~15 minutes walk from Boulevard Malesherbes and Place Vendome, if you like to window shop (or shop if you're loaded) all the most expensive brands.

Fairly good location minutes away by foot from metro stations, Champs Elysees avenue or Galleries Lafayettes.
Service was very great, everyone at the hotel is sincerely friendly and efficient.
Diamond member perks were awesome. Got upgraded to Junior Suite, which was very comfortable and quiet. The occupancy was about 15-20% however at the time.
Breakfast was served a la carte during the summer due to pandemic. Nevertheless it was very tasty even though the choices were limited compared to their regular delicious buffet. Breakfast is served either in the room or in the restaurant.
Fitness room is unfortunately very tiny with only two machines.
Will be very likely to consider again this hotel on another trip to Paris.

Rooms are intimate and tastefully decorated. Vegan options upon request. Surrounding area cannot accommodate large rooms. Boutique hotel and new to Hilton Curio brand. Very French chic. Friendly. Professional and efficient staff. Caters to every whim. Concierge services are on point.

I would like to give this hotel 5 stars but I cannot because the air conditioning was not working. Similar to other reviews on this site, so the hotel was aware of this issue.

We called the front desk on our first night, the gentleman that came to assess the situation agreed it wasn t working and said he would put in a work order. We asked for another room or a fan, he said no to both. The next morning we asked about service and it had not been recorded so we made our second request to have the AC fixed. We left for the day, came back to have takeaway dinner and wine in the room around 5 pm... but the front desk still seemed unaware of any issues with the AC. Needless to say, service had not looked at the AC. After being asked to wait for their manager to handle the situation, I spoke with her face to face. She indicated she would not charge for the room for the first night. As for the second night, she was able to offer another room. Turned out the new room didn t have working AC either. At this point, it was late at night and we had to arise early. She finally found a room with AC.

Upon returning to the states, the Quality Manager has written to us advising that he will not give us a free night but rather will give us points for future use. This is very disappointing as the other manager had already advised of the monetary refund.

Positives of the hotel are that the concierges are the best!! Alexandre helped us plan a two day itinerary that was perfect. He was honest, resourceful and offered great suggestions.

Had the AC worked and provided us with comfortable sleeping rooms, or the proper compensation, this could have been a different review.

This hotel was great! We came from the US and we picked this hotel because it was in the Hilton family (but not wholly Hilton yet) but we got points for staying and it was easy to book. It was the perfect French hotel. The staff was wonderful and super friendly. The lobby was big and cozy. We had arrived super early in the morning and had to wait for our room and they had no problem with me laying on the couch and falling asleep. I loved the staircases, all in Marble. Our room was gigantic and gorgeous. They have so many options for rooms so if you pick a small room, of course you'll get a small room. Our bathroom was modern and gorgeous and everything was super clean. The bed was super comfortable too. Yes the carpets in the hallways were a little shabby but they are undergoing a reno so I understand why they aren't really tending to them much. But to me it was part of the old French hotel charm. Our room was nothing but wonderful. I also was so impressed how you never saw the cleaning person until she came down to ask in the afternoon, if you needed anything else. They also turned down the bed every evening. You never saw "cleaning" carts hanging out in the hallways which I thought was really classy. And the bathroom towels were huge! You don't see that in America.

We loved the little cozy bar. The breakfast was ok, nothing super but I think it's because we are used to American breakfasts. It was more Frenchy than we are used to. We ate there all but one morning though and was enough to keep us full. The coffee was always good.

You can not beat the location! It was such a great hotel literally within waking distance of EVERYTHING. There were great little cafes just down the block but then walk no more than a mile any direction and everything is at your finger tips. Literally.

We thought this hotel was great and we highly recommend it.

It has the taste of Paris in rooms, reception
Small, clean, tiny, tidy hotel, however the price was very high compared to breakfast available
Bread, croissant, chocolate & cheese was perfect but overall break fast variety can be better
Staff were helpful however, the bags was waiting to 20 min. To get it down, so I got it down by my self
Location is not the nearest to metro / bus station but I have no problem to walk

The hotel felt like our 2nd home. We felt like stars! The staff's hospitability compensates for the smaller rooms in terms of asian standards. Location is good if you want to see the less touristy side of Paris!

Beautiful property! Helpful, friendly, and very professional personnel. Lovely comfortable rooms. Our room was very very clean and the bathroom as well. Neither was large by American standards, by very nice. More personal. Beautiful fabric covered walls...not wallpaper. Halls were nicely decorated as well with wainscoting. Spiral staircase beside elevator. French windows in our room, as well.
Beautiful dining hall. Velvet furnishings and chandeliers.
We had dinner one night there. Very nice.
I recommend this hotel for its quality and history.
This was the private home of John Astor, while in Paris. The John Astor that went down with the Titanic sinking. He was the wealthiest man on board!

We were pleased with our selection of Maison Astor to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! As HH members, we received 5-star service including a room upgrade with a spectacar view of the Eiffel Tower! The concierge staff were both personable and helpful. They guided us to cozy neighborhood restaurants with delightful French cuisine! We had a fabulous time in Paris. Merci, merci, merci! Dorothy and Bob Nicholson

Very nice hotel within walking distance of many areas of interest. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. The hotel staff was extremely attentive and made us feel very welcome as we were traveling with our disabled daughter and her wheelchair. The staff spoke English well.

A well decorated and quite chic hotel. The rooms are typically small, but well laid out, clean and well decorated. The lunchtime food was enormous in quantity, but very tasty.
The staff in the restaurant, were not as attentive as expected, on occasion it took a few requests before the requested drink arrived. The hotel is in a great location for all of the city sites

Steer clear of this place, stay elsewhere! I stayed at this hotel in October 2019 for 2 nights, and it was dreadful other than the location! The hotel advertises that it has air conditioning, and is part of the Curio collection (higher end) of the Hilton Brand--it is not up to par!

The Negatives - bad customer service, NO Air conditioning, room service menu VERY limited (see photo), hotel restaurant has very limited hours and food is not very good, breakfast buffet is poorly executed with chipped plates/bowls and much of food is not kept hot/cold and is just laid out on plates.

The positives - bigger room than most, a few free items in mini bar, location is good, bar is a nice place for a drink, concierge knowledgeable.

I booked a King Premium room, it was larger than most rooms in Paris and it is nicely decorated, and it is a good location near to many attractions and restaurants. They offer a few items complementary in the mini bar which is nice also, but I assume that is because the in-room dining menu consists of a sandwich, soup, or pasta only (see the photo).

However, the biggest issue is that the room does NOT have air conditioning as advertised. The hotel is aware of this, and they are unwilling to do anything about it. Upon discovering the air conditioning was blowing hot air, I contacted the front desk. They sent someone up to look at it (I am not sure why, because I was then told that they air conditioning in the whole hotel does not work). The manager I spoke to named Tarek, informed me that the website has wrong information and that they do not have air conditioning, and he offered to upgrade me to another room that does NOT have air conditioning which solves nothing.

Long story short, I will be contacting the Hilton Honors line and filing a complaint, and will dispute this charge with my credit card company. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Wow! Only stayed one night with my parents and sister but it was probably one of the best hotels we stayed at. It was definitely the best service and hospitality we've experienced! Good and quiet location. A few minute walk to Champs-Elysees. Rooms can be on the small size but it is Paris after all. Merci beaucoup Nadege, Stephane, Helena and everyone else!

Only minus was that we had an issue with mosquitoes in our room.

Excellent hotel, very attentive staff (some speak up Portuguese) and beautiful lobby decor, with flower arrangements. Divine breakfast, with many great products of French cuisine! When I was there in the year 2016, in May, the hotel was turning 20, they made a mega party, where all the guests were invited !!! Unforgettable !!! The room I stayed, overlooked the internal garden, well bucolic, was a good room.

Stayed here this month. We were super happy with the location. Easy to walk to major attractions and you are close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Doesn't feel too touristy here either. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were perfect. Very comfortable, quiet and clean and nicely styled. We had the room with a terrace which is highly recommended.

I visited Paris over the New Years Holiday 2014/2015. I had an outstanding stay at this hotel. The rooms were beautiful, the staff was wonderful , the food was excellent. In fact, I'm planning to go back in 2016 because I enjoyed it so much. This time I'm bringing a friend!!
