Parking is very bad. There is a Notcutts about a 10 minutes walk. Or drive around the hospital car park with dozens of other drivers looking to park. This took me over 50 minutes to park up LOL.

Everything takes time so take a packed lunch, or take plenty of money as it is Airport prices for food.

The Staff are great though, and when seen are at the top of the profession!

First class care via arrival by ambulance. Big downside is as I came in with infection via High Blood Glucose - as my brother pointed out - the food on offer was like giving poison to a diabetic! An example is white pasta bake, sweet and sour chicken with white rice, or shepherd's pie all.loaded with carbs. All.desseets were sugar loaded. Alternatives for lunch or tea - salad

Waiting more than 6 months for gallbladder removal. Lots of pain. Staff were uncaring. Missed medications and poor care. Waiting list is ridiculous. Its a circus here. Don't go to Tunbridge Maidstone hospital if you are sick. Then advised it could be another 6 months to wait in pain.

I spent some time in and out of this hospital in 2015 on the gynea ward and id like to say that I had the best care I recently was admitted for 3 days again on the same gynea ward and id like to say the staff are amazing, kind attentive and understanding they really make you feel cared for and all of the staff nurses and doctors were on point and amazing in thier roles it was also nice to see the ward sister being involved in everything ( I've not seen this at other hospitals) but Anne Marie Bird was present and involved and really out me at ease at low moments. So thank you to all the staff at pembury especially those on the gyne dept xxxx

I attended this hospital today and upon approaching the main door I was accosted by 2 security guards. These men asked if I had ans appointment and with whom. They then demanded to read my paperwork sent by the hospital and it was clear that unless I allowed them to read it I would not be allowed in for my appointment. This blatant breach of patient confidentiality is disgusting .

Excellent hospital. Had to stay in here for a while and was extremely well looked after. I like the single rooms as it means your sleep is less broken and you are not sharing a ward with a litany of other ailments that might adversely effect you. The staff are helpful and usually on the dot with treatment. They are respectful of your privacy and will endeavour to help.

A lot of people I know don't like the way the hospital is set up but for a younger person I found it amazing. Being in hospital is not an experience anyone wants so this was quite refreshing. I personally would like to see more places taking this approach not only for the infection control that it allows but the privacy. Something that can be difficult to get in a hospital.

My one gripe is the outpatient side. It can overrun by almost an hour when seeing specialists. I know this isn't usually there fault but more could be done to wheedle out unnecessary appointments. Plus the consultant shouldn't wait 10 -20 minutes for someone to turn up. If they are late they are late. Get others in it would make things run much smoother.

Fabulously caring staff I've just had my second c-section at the Pembury and they were all wonderful from start to finish. I'm so grateful for the wonderful care provided by all the team. It is miles apart from other hospitals in Kent. The NhS has got it spot on - well done. It's worth my husband paying 40% tax when you find somewhere that actually works!

Friday 29th May , I went to A and E due to a cycling accident at Bewl water . The care and attention I received from the moment I arrived at the main entrance to being diagnosed was absolutely first class. Unfortunately I didn t catch the names of the staff that attended to me apart from the senior nurse ( I think that was his title , apologies if I got it wrong) who s name was Alistair . Everyone was happy and very professional . Thank you to all involved and a special thank you to Alistair who s attention to detail and advice was excellent.

Our daughter was born here a couple of weeks ago. We had an amazing service in difficult circumstances. All of the staff to a person were efficient, effective and personable: from the consultant to the cleaner we were treated with respect and dignity. The hospital was clean, we had our own room. Staff communicated well. The theatre team were veey efficient and I was astonished at the number of professionals involved and how well drilled they were. in addition, we were able to have discounted parking. They provided me a makeshift bed. It was from start to finish an excellent level of service.

Staff is very rude for no reason. Had an unpleasantly disturbing experience, even on the phone today 28/03/2018 with a person at obstetrics & gynaecology ultrasound appointments line in Maidstone.
Would love to avoid that sort of experience in the future as everyone has problems and there are many other ways to deal with them than being rude to patients.

My father has been diagnosed with cancer recently so I've been spending a lot of time here. So the lack of crisps in the vending machine is abysmal. I am deeply saddened by the lack of variety and would pray for a change in the future !

After breaking my left leg (both tibia and fibula, tibia came through the skin) in a climbing accident I was blue lighted to the emergency department here. Within just a few hours I'd had a CT scan, X-ray, had the bones realigned, had a temporary cast put on, and admitted to ward 30 for an over night stay. At the crack of dawn the next morning I was taken into surgery where surgeon Mr Neil Slater put an 18cm rod in my tibia which was fixed in place by two pins at either end. I then had to stay in the ward for an extra 4 nights.

5 weeks later, due to complications with the wound where the bone came through the skin I had to go back to the emergency department where they admitted me to the same ward that night and had surgery 2 days later.

I cannot fault this hospital at all. Through both my stays here all the ward staff have been very caring, kind and I even had a laugh with a few of them. If you ever have a choice of hospital to go to with an injury similar to mine, I recommend you come to The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury

Had an M.R.I. scan at 7.00 a.m. on 24th July, first of the day. Harrison (I believe) & partner turned up on time and fully explained the procedure to me, putting me totally at ease. What a couple of true professionals, a credit to the N.H.S. Thank you guys, you were wonderful !

Put in a side room in pembury and havent been seen by anyone or update very poor service and that was over 3 hours in total she been in hospital for over 24 hour's now. They say old people are bed blocking well perhaps if the doctor's see the patents quicker then that may help unblock beds?

From admission (thank you Dr Max Cresswell) to A&E, to the amazing staff - medical, nursing and admin of Ward 22 you are all incredible. My husband recently spent 5 days with you and we were blown away by the caring, knowledgeable and efficient care he received. Thank you all. The only downside is the extortionate cost of parking and the fact his room (23) was like a deep freeze (hence only a 4 star rating) . The hospital was spotless and the food pretty good for mass produced fare. Thumbs up for our wonderful NHS.

Thanks to Pembury Hospital Stroke Ward -- truly a jewel in the NHS crown. Anyone who has a doubt about the wonderful care offered, and doctors on duty 24/7,and the kindest, caring nursing staff, and everyone including cleaners and assistants -- just doesn't have a clue. Stop the gov trying to privatise our NHS by the nasty back door.

Poor Care

Poor Care
My wife has had an episode at 6:30pm on sunday ( 08/01/17)when I found her on the floor unconscious at home after I came back from work.

My wife is 26 weeks pregnant so I took her to the hospital immediately at the emergency they asked me to take her to the maternity word, the doctor checked her at around 6:40pm and she said that she is not sure what's wrong but we will give her IV and some pain killer and will get a female doctor to check her as my wife is Muslim and we would prefer a male doctor at a situation like this.

I was told the doctor will come in 10 minutes and when an hour passed and my wife was getting worth I went to see the nurses and I was told that I have to wait and we are too busy at the moment.
I waited until 11:40 and no one came to see my wife and decided to leave.
The nurses were sitting in room laughing and drinking tea and couldn't be bothered to help my wife at all.
there was a doctor sitting with the nurses when they were having a laugh and when i asked if some one can come and give her anthing to stop the pain they replied with bad attitude saying you have to wait.
i said if I can take my wife back to the emergency or even to maidstone hospital , they responded that you will be sent back here.
i don't understand how can someone in so much pain be left like that without any help.

I was expecting a lot better care than what I have received yesterday.

I can not find the words to express my feelings but I am going to do the best of my ability to avoid this from happening again to my wife or anyone else.

My mother Sheila was taken by ambulance last Thursday to the hospital. I would like to thank all the staff that were involved in her care. Unfortunately she suffers from Dementia and was very scared and confused. She was treated with respect, care and kindness. It was unfortunate that she was discharged on Saturday and re-admitted on Sunday. The staff in A and E were lovely to her and definitely 'went the extra mile.' It's all too often that we complain so it's a pleasure to give praise where it's due. Many thanks from Beverley and Ray Hood

Shocking hospital. My mother in law went in today for a 2nd time to get help with the pain her PEG is causing her. (There isn t suppose to be any pain.)
Again she was left to wait 6 hours for some actual attention. Again they offered her nothing to eat but a biscuit and she is diabetic! After many hours it turned out the lab results were delayed. The doctors showed up finally with no news. She never got the pain relief she needed and the reason she went. She left in floods of tears, her resolve completely crushed. She has a major operation this week. They asked her to come in for another day of hell. For what? She should be home relaxing not daily runs to the hospitals for Covid tests and minor observation. This could of all been done by phone and photos. She s 83 and dedicatedly worked for the NHS for 60 years. This isn t the way you should treat your own! If you ve crushed her spirit I ll never forgive you. This is all so wrong!!

I have recently been under investigation for Crohn...

I have recently been under investigation for Crohn's (or other possible Inflammatory bowel disease) by gastroenterologist Dr Blaker at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. I cannot praise Dr Blaker (and his team) highly enough, for being so dedicated to discovering what has been causing my acute and chronic abdominal pain for the past nine months. After undergoing extensive tests, I have now been assured that my pain is not being caused by an inflammatory bowel disease, which was one of my greatest fears, as I am already disabled and live with a very debilitating and painful soft tissue disorder.

Dr Blaker was so patient and understanding regarding the abdominal pain I have been experiencing and while I still do not have a definitive diagnosis as of yet as to the cause of my pain, I am so grateful to have been seen by a doctor who is so dedicated to helping his patients.

Well, I have nothing but praise. From Fiona and Janet in the plaster room, Mr Barry Rose, Mr James Ritchie and Mo in the fracture clinic/surgery to Pedro, James and George in ward 30....complete stars. They are all so kind as I have found all the staff and the transport service. I think that Maidstone should take a leaf out of their book as I have been in there many times and to say the least, have had harrowing experiences. Well done to Tunbridge wells hospital. Thank you for looking after me as I am sure you will continue to provide the expert care and support with my on going treatment. xx

Absolutely AWESOME! I actually have no idea why people want private healthcare when the NHS provides it for FREE at point of access!
I've been here twice, once on the private ward by my grandparents for kidney problems and again in the trust side for the same problems.
It became really apparent that the private side was making me comfortable than anything and disregarding any actual treatment (which may or may not have extended my stay...) which I did not like AT ALL. Not to mention that I felt the private side was aiming to be a hotel instead of a hospital ward and did not take my health concerns seriously....
The NHS side was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE :D For once, it seemed that health care was the primary concern and I actually got the treatment and consultation I had been asking for but never received on the private side. I also have to say that the staff from the NHS side seemed to have more experience, were more cheerful and were significantly easier to talk to compared to the private side.
The only downside is the parking which sucks for both sites. Even the people working at the hospital have to pay! Its absolutely ridiculous to pay to go to work!
Due to my experience, I would highly recommend the NHS services here and ditching private "for-profit" healthcare altogether!

I am visiting the area from Stoke and have been truely amazed by the experience. It started in Maidstone with helpful, caring staff who went out of their way, and beyond their pay grade. Next came Tunbridge as a referral. Slick, decisive and empathetic all in one. You really are fortunate to have this facility.

A truly amazing hospital Definitely FIVE STAR treatment, care, service, support and also kindliness and friendliness.

ICU actually saved my life, I was in there over Christmas 2014 and January 2015. Altogether four different wards over two months and I have nothing but praise, admiration and appreciation for all they did for me and the way they did it. These nurses, doctors and care staff are such fantastic people. I will never be able to thank them enough for giving me my life back.

I was referred by my GP who suspected I kidney stones. A&E team were fantastic especially Alison, they kept me informed, checked in and explained what was happening and plans. I was an unusual presentation, Alison refused to accept that although my kidneys and bladder were fine I was too. Insisted on second ultrasound and xrays of whole abdomen, gallbladder & ducts to it was the issue diagnosed by the sonographer . Then got referred to SAU, I would ve appreciated more communication at the point, I got left in SAU with no explanation or plan for 90 minutes was by myself not knowing what was going on. Became more anxious. Samir came and saw me went through what was happening and the next stages of my treatment plan, she too was kind, very thorough and patient answering questions confirming my understanding. I d like to say a huge thank you to the nurses in A&E yesterday, Alison & Samir!

Relatively quick service in A&E but...
My elderly parent was left waiting for 5 hrs for transport home, was given nothing to eat or drink during that time. She was sent home with no care plan and important antibiotic tablets that we found by accident in her bag the next day. Supposedly, when I phoned for information the next day (after being on hold for 53 minutes) it was my fault for not asking the right questions when she was released!
Pembury makes Maidstone hospital look amazing!
Just proves a posh new building is not the answer to staff shortages that put so much pressure on the remaining team members they lose their capacity to do the job well!

I have been reffered for an ultra sound seeing as I'm in excrutiating pain and I go travelling in 3 weeks. I spoke to a lady on the phone at the gynaecology ward and she put me through to emergency ultrasounds- the lady on the phone was extremely rude to me and has told me to go and see my gp (which I already have as I've been reffered) I told her that I already had done this and she said "Yeah okay bye, Yeah bye" really don't feel reassured and I'm actually very worried about my health. Awful customer service, considering I do pay tax's for this kind of treatment, I actually feel like my health has been neglected and it's making me depressed. Would not recommend this hospital.

As a building I've been really impressed with it and its facilities. The parking is easy to use and priced like most hospitals. As a first or second time visitor the check in process isn't amazingly clear, but the reception are helpful. The layout is fairly easy and clear to navigate. It has a cafe and newsagents as well.

Attended A and E last night due to suspected kidney stones, I cannot praise all staff enough I was triaged and put in a cubicle and started on pain relief very quickly. Was seen by the doctor who definitely thought it was renal colic. I was taken to Cdu where again All staff were amazing making sure I was comfortable and my pain was under control. I had a ct scan where yet again all staff was amazing. I was diagnosed with kidney stones and an infection and was given antibiotics and adequate pain relief and was discharged and instructed to come back if the pain becomes unmanageable again. There are always complaints but never enough praise for these amazing doctors and nurses.

Outstanding Staff! Was lost around and I met a lady who kindly showed me Children Emergency. She actually went outside without wearing a coat.
My daughter and myself were warmly welcomed by a Nurse called Alice who's made me feel better. She was as caring as sweet. After that, we saw the Doctor who was also fantastic. I believe it was Dr. Dunne (Irish name).
The only bad thing, the reception in the main A&E could be more smily as well as friendly.
I couldn't thank this hospital enough. Although it is a hospital, it's always a pleasure going there.
Keep up the Great job!
