Well worth it!!!
Perhaps the best activity at the Niagara falls state park. You got to take the elevator near the observatory to get to the jetty. You are given ponchos at the jetty before you board. The vessel is fine and serves the purpose. The boat ride is nice giving a good view of all falls. As one approaches near the Horse shoe falls, there is a lot of water that sprays all over you. It is hard to even open your eyes as the force of the water is overwhelming. It is however an amazing experience. The only downside is the crowd which can be a little irksome.
You get close to Niagara Falls! It's so beautiful and a very amazing experience!
Recommended to feel the falls up close, the attraction is somewhat short and you must find a place at the top. They give you a raincoat.
Probably the best way to see/feel the Niagara falls
A fantastic experience that I do every time I'm in the area. There's a long line during the summer, but it moves fast. You don your blue plastic poncho (can everybody say "free souvenir"?), board the specialized boat, and head off to the base of the falls. The boat pounds through the eddies and whirlpools at the base of the falls, and holds against the base of the falls for a few minutes with the engine pounding at full power just to stay in place.
Taking the Maid of the Mist through Niagara Falls is definitely something that should be on everyone's bucket list. The view is breathtaking. Its hard to comprehend the natural wonder you're seeing. The boat gets you right into the water and you end up completely drenched! the free ponchos aren't just for looks!
I feel its worth mentioning that even on a busy day, the flow of this place really helps get people through quickly. We didn't encounter any hiccups or traffic jams of people. it is so spread out that you can move freely and have plenty of space.
Doesnt go as close as the Canada side boat. Go later on in the afternoon less people.
This boat ride is so much fun but it's just getting more and more expensive. Tips: clearly you want to be right in the front, but everyone thinks to go to the top deck and try to be in the front. Very few people run to the front of the bottom deck, do that and you'll be right at the front
You're gonna get wet! Get in line early then make your way port side once on the boat - top or bottom deck.
One of the most amazing water excursions in my life. On a small boat you drive up to the very base of Niagara Falls, where millions of tons of water fall. The spectacle is unforgettable. But take care of your equipment, as everything will quickly become wet and can go bad.
This tour was awesome, a great experience had by all.
If you want the Niagara experience, but are frugal you may hesitate to spend $20 or so for a 20 minute boat ride. Don't hesitate. Although free views are beautiful, if you're coming here for the true feeling and inspiration of the falls this is one of the top two experiences I suggest. The other is Cave of the Winds. You can feel the awe and wonder of the falls.
Definitely one of the worlds must see wonders. Prefer the Canadian side, but Maid of the Mist is an awesome ride either way. Been on both sides numerous times and it has always amazed me. During the summer there are gorgeous light shows. Visit the tower over the falls and walk the paths along the rim for spectacular views. Love it.
A MUST have experience, without it the Niagara Falls cannot be fully enjoyed from the US side.
Very good place to see and enjoy. If you want to fully enjoy, keep aside your Gadegts etc.
You must go sailing. Really worth. Little is more impressive. Note - you need to secure your phone / camera to take photos. Of course you don't need waterproof phones :).
On the ship it is not worth pushing for a good place, from each one you can clearly see a fragment of the waterfall.
had a great time on the tour, but those running the show were like cattle herders. There were a lot of foreign tourists on the tour and the help yelled at these people in the most disrespectful manner to keep them moving along. There was an obvious language barrier and, I guess the help just decided that louder was better. Given all the countries represented, might be a good idea to have instructions written in several languages. other than that, it was really nice.
Everything went smoothly! It was beautiful, smooth, and very wet. We had a great time.
They really do bring you right up close to the falls...plenty of waterfall spray!
Very much worth it. It is a short 20 minute tour but they take you straight up to the falls. The waiting line was maybe thirty 45 mins all together and that was a starting point at the parking lot
The establishment can t even pick up the phone to give information.
It's pretty great. You may get wet though so don't take anything on that can't wet.
New electrical boats are amazing, no noise, smell or excessive vibration. It even seems they are more maneuverable and held off the waterfalls might longer than old boats before. Not as many people on board made the trip more special. It was my 4th and the best boat tour on Niagara with Maid of the Mist, great experience.
Beautiful, no need to bring rain coat.
$19.25 come with raincoat..
Nice, you come very close to the falls. But you will also wet in spite of poncho
This is must do thing if you are visiting Niagara falls you will get close look of the Falls and you can feel it actually how grand they are
Nice way to cool off on hot July day. Double decker boat to ride to the front of the Falls. Get there early if you want to be on the upper level or the bow as those spot fill quickly. Ride the elevator down. You get a poncho as a souvenir. Buy your tickets on their website or just use the ticket booth either way you must wait in line.
The boat ride itself was wonderful. My entire family loved it. However, what followed the boat ride was totally unacceptable. We got off the boat at 1pm on July 5th in the blazing sun and stood in line over 90 minutes before getting on an elevator to the top. We stood in line with hundreds of people pushing and shoving with no line control whatsoever. People were fainting from the heat and people were screaming for medical attention and no one could move because of the lines and so many people. The man next to me was on the phone with 911 because his 9 year old daughter threw up 5 times due heat exhaustion and they had no water. The smell of body odor prevailed all while taking steps of inches. Our memories of Maid of the Mist will be forever tainted of the horrible experience trying to get out of there. We had planned to go to the Cave of the Winds afterwards but were so disgusted that we had to get out of there as soon as we could. Some serious attention must be given to line control and crowd management. Build some stairs so people can at least escape if they want to climb the stairs.
It was an amazing tour. Reasonable price. Well managed staff. Experience for life!!
Well worth the price!
A free poncho is provided, so you don t get overly wet. (You will get wet, unless you stay in the bottom deck of the boat).
The lines move quickly, and they don t over fill the boats, so it s very easy to get a good view without many people in your shots.
The boat tour is pretty interactive, and they tell you facts about the falls as you work your way towards them.
Best views are from the top deck. Don t worry about which side of the boat you re on, as the boat does rotate so each side gets good views of the falls.
Also the food is slightly cheaper in the maid of the mist cafe than it is on the strip.
Awesome way to see the falls! Impossible to not have a fun time on this boat.
There with family, their first time there & they had a blast.
Read this if you plan on visiting during COVID:
1) online tickets do not mean anything. They are general admission and do not guarantee you entry
2) get there EARLY to wait on line. I would say aim for 7am because that s when people start lining up.
3) at 8am the state cuts off the line and then makes you scan a QR code next to the line to wait to get in that line until the website fills up around 9:30am and then they are done for the day.
4) once you scan the QR you fill out a quick form that puts you in a queue to get on the actual line to wait.
5) it took me 3 hours to get the text (8:30am-11:30am). You can explore until you receive the text and an hour later I got on line after showing the worker my text.
6) the line is 3.5 hours long due to the volume, limited capacity on the boats, and social distancing.
7) do not buy your tickets online, after you wait on the initial line it leads you right to the ticket booths and then up to the bride to get on the elevator which brings you to board the boat.
8) the ride is absolutely beautiful and made our whole trip. Please be responsible and get there early or wait patiently
9) the state workers are barely any help and extremely rude and work as a separate entity from the maid of the mist workers.
Breath talking view. Actually best tour sight I ve ever been to.
After watching The Office US version of course. This is the place Jim and Pam got married.
When you actually got on board I believe you shouldn t take off your rain coat.
The ferry will take a circle run and came back.
It s gonna be wet ride for sure.
You ll see the rainbow right in front of you near the fall.
After the ride you can take a hike near the fall.
The hard wind will blow the water to you witch is a whole new experience. Fun Af.
Warning. If you took your camera for the hike you should well covered it. Cuz my camera actually glitches out for two days straight.
The scenery is beautiful and spectacular.
The rainbow is right in front of you when you take the boat close to the waterfall. It is recommended to wear your raincoat throughout the journey.
After the end, you can climb the trail on the left side of the waterfall, which is closer to the waterfall than by boat. The day I went there happened to be very windy. That wind will hit you directly from the waterfall. It is recommended to pack your camera when climbing the trail, otherwise the camera will easily get into water like mine.
I've taken many of our Grands. It's a blast! The price is very reasonable and what a wonderful way to see the falls. Gives a whole new perspective on how massive Niagara Falls realy is. And you get to see the Canadian side without the Hassel of a passport. Great experience!!
Amazing!! Take a boat trip right into the heart of the power of the mighty Niagara Falls. Brings you up close and personal with the falls.
What a beautiful place and falls
We should visit niagara falls once in your life
Beautiful place and the falls remind me when Tarzan jump to the water enjoy this view
Nice tour everyone visiting Niagara fall should try
This is well worth the money! Amazing family memories! We almost missed these memories due to my daughter who was completely terrified of riding the elevator 25 stories down and then back up BUT.... LAURIE, an amazing supervisor, talked to my daughter so calmly and so politely, shared her own personal experience with her, told her it would take 30 seconds to reach the bottom(which it did) Laurie allowed us to ride in our own elevator with no one else, but what made this even more special was that she rode with us and then waited for us at the bottom to take our tour and then did it all over again on the way back up! She was hands down amazing, and a true life saver to my daughter, it really shows they aren't just in it for the money but for the memories that families make! So Laurie, if you ever read this, THANK YOU FOR BEING THE PERSON THAT YOU ARE!

Sooo windy and wet, but I could have done that 100 times. It s amazing. Next time I m bring sunglasses.
The boat tour is really really awesome!!! You can see the amazing fall very close, the birds, and the rainbows! They will give you the raincoat to wear, but your hair or clothes will still be wet. In fact, the feeling is so good when we re getting wet from the spray, the air, the wind, and the spray, everything will make you feel so fresh, this is nature, and you will love it!
Ultimately this Experience was great I would recommend this to anybody. Whether you're single a couple or have children it's an awesome trip you got very close to the falls it's not too long however you do feel like you got your money's worth great pictures you get close enough to actually feel the Mist you go down elevators can see the zip lines on the Canadian side. Overall it's about an hour and vestment and time from start to finish the one thing I can say is the line for the elevator on the way back up going to take you at least 15 minutes
Awesome loved it sceneries beautiful with a touch of Heaven A must see in a lifetime
Wow. This is awesome experience. Get ready for a shower;) Worth every penny.
A wet boat ride right next to the horse shoe fall on the Canadian side.
It was a spectacular sight and the roar of the falls was just breathtaking you could feel it in your lungs. If you're there it's definitely a must-see
One of the memorable moment and thing to do when you are in Niagara Falls.
Staffs are really attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!
Simply a must if you are visiting Niagara Falls offering a totally different perspective and great way to appreciate the scale of the falls and the sheer volume of water. The crowd handling is very good with a minimal wait despite the numbers of people. Despite the blue ponchos you will get wet - but that's part of the fun!
Oh. My. God! The views on the boat do NOT compare to just seeing them from above. We went at 9:15am (they open at 9) and it was a bit rainy/misty but apparently that's the time to go because there was maybe 20 people on our boat tour. We got to get bottom deck & right up front! We got SOAKED, and we had a blast!!! We would def do this again but stay on Canadian side!
Always amazing. Only complaint was the line going to the elevators was disorganized. They need ropes to keep people in line. Reduce pushing and shoving. Once you got to the elevators it was a breeze. Lines moved fast. Purchasing the tickets was easy and quick to get.
This is a MUST if you re visiting. The experience is unforgettable
If you re a fan of The Office, you understand why Maid of the Mist is so special, lol. I ve been on the Maid of the Mist twice and I ve learned a few things. Be prepared to stand in line and enjoy the view while you wait to be boarded. When it s your turn to board, YOU MUST BOARD. No waiting for the next trip. If you do want to wait for the next boat, they will ask that you go aaaaaallllll the way to the back of the line. Also, when you do board, run, don t walk, to the coveted upper deck location near the railing. You ll have the best view and the best pictures! And be prepared to get wet, but not soaked. When it comes to the view of the Falls, Breathtaking is an understatement. It is one of the most beautiful, unforgettable views that you ll ever experience!
Well worth it! The cases are really as impressive as you imagine. The ships are already very close ran. The rain cap should be urgently put on and protect the camera well from the water.
Great experience. You will get soaked! Best to go when the weather is warm, and exit to the right, walk up the stairs and take pictures directly next to the falls. Very beautiful
I love this excursion. The line was long due to (not full capacity) on the boat amd they were only running one boat that day. The line moved slowly but still moved.
A bucket list experience. You should try to get on the top deck, right front side. This is the best place to see the falls and to get wet lol. You'll experience as if the boat is going below the falls because the amount of water is impressive. I'd say, leave the camera beside and enjoy the view. Btw, bring sun glasses since your face will get wet.
Enjoy!!
