We paid for the whole 49 USD package from the Niagara falls state park that included the trolley, the aquarium, the cave of the winds, the maid of the mist, etc. So talking about this boat ride, it was AWESOME, IMPRESSIVE, AMAZING. It leaves you speechless to see the falls at such a close distance. It is soooooo worth to take this ride! You can take great pics and videos from the boat!

One hell of a MAID to visit. Again, memorial day weekend means longer lines , longer wait times. Couldn't get parking and had to park outside of the park. Though lines were lengthy, they moved quick, 4 elevators did the trick I guess. Stand on the upper deck and if possible, stand in the front part. Views were awesome. Mist was super cool. Shouldn't have been wearing the poncho, may be next time.

The boat ride was fantastic, but the lack of coordination, communication and professionalism while waiting to get in line was appalling. As we approached the line, no one let us know that you have to reserve a spot by Che king in with a QR code. Once we figured this out we were told we would get a text approximately in an hour to then get in line. After an hour we asked, then an hour an half, then two hours, etc. Finally we went up and asked again and they said they sent out all the rest of the codes 45 minutes ago. Why they didn t tell me that when I asked 30 minutes earlier is beyond me. They finally just let us in after 2 1/2 hours. Overall they were extremely disorganized. I would not do this again nor would I recommend it to a friend.

The 15mins you spend on the ride are amazing, but the queues are horrible. I have never in my life waited longer to get out than to get into an attraction. The side on Canada has access to stairs but on the American side , there are only 4 elevators.

If you really want to get close to the falls this is it! Try to take it all in and enjoy getting wet! If you want pictures take them before getting close!! You won t be able to see much once you right up on it!

A must do once in your life. Plan enough time on weekends because the line for the elevator back up can take a while and the lines are not too organized. There are no stairs, you must wait for an elevator. We've waited in line two hours before. Weekdays are much better!

I went here, cause why not if you're going to Niagara Falls? It was all right, I guess, but everyone on the boat yells and screams like they think they're going over a waterfall.
This place, like everywhere else around here, is kind of crowded. The one thing I really would recommend taking is ear plugs, cause the passenger are so terribly loud. (If the only noise was from the waterfall, I think your ears would be just fine.)

Old institution but still great and a must visit. With the platform and stairs to the "wet area" included, way the better value than the hornblower on the Canadian side. But of course still a lot of money for a whole family and don't forget the additional 20$ for the parking in the area.

Be sure to take the left side on the boat because the right side will miss the American Falls almost completely.

Pants and shoes will get soaked. Flip flops are preferable. Rain coat will be provided free of charge, but the wind from the falls is undoing the protection a lot.

Waterproof case for mobile phones is needed to make pictures.

Very impressive when close to Canadian Falls and climbing stairs close to American falls. There you will get even more wet.

Great once in a lifetime thrill. Must visit.

The tour is impressive, you must do it !! Very well organized and very safe, they will take you on a boat ride through the falls and you will even enter one of them. Includes poncho to protect you from the rain. You will take some amazing photos.

A must-experience adventure. We took our three children (ages 3, 7, & 9), and they came away calling it, "Amazing!" They were jumping, laughing, cheering... After a four hour car ride, they told us, "It was totally worth it!" Our 9 year old had a cast (broken arm), and the Maid of the Mist staff supplied a cover (baby poncho) which kept her arm totally dry. We plan to return to Niagra Falls in the future because of the experience.

If you want to get to the bottom of the falls by boat, this is probably the best way to do it. They even give you a plastic poncho to wear. If you are going with a big group, be sure to rip some holes in the thin plastic of the others' ponchos. They will hate being wet by the mist during the tour, but later they will all laugh.

Up through the point of the boat ride it was really great, after that everything fell apart. Once we exited the boat my family and I stood in line to get back up the elevators for more than two hours. This was the only exit. There was absolutely no shade, and the restrooms were inaccessible unless you pushed through the entire line, which likely would have caused a riot. There was no warning by the staff to be prepared with water for the long wait. Before the boat there must have been 7 people passing out ponchos, in the exit line there were a couple teenagers that had absolutely no control of the situation. There was no police or park ranger presence, the longer we waited the more angry people became and I m honestly surprised no one got assaulted. If there had been a medical emergency it would have been extremely hard for medical personal to get to someone. If there is any sort of crowd I would honestly recommend to stay away from this attraction as the management of the entire operation is the worst I ve ever seen at any state park in the country and should be an embarrassment to the state of New York for such a popular national attraction. I spent $60 to take my family through 2 hours of hell. Never again New York!

Never miss this if you are here. It was one of the best I experienced in the US. Really a great experience for me and my family including my daughters in which one was just 3 months old. If you have a baby, please do pick a spot in the below deck and be sure to stand near to a place where you can quickly hide below the top deck when the boat rushes through the falls and avoid the water and heavy moisture coming from the falls for the safety. You can take your stroller inside the boat as well if you want to. We went twice on Saturday and Sunday both the days and Saturday was crowded and people were pushing and fighting for the place like kids though we have a baby with us. One family was very kind and made some space for us and allowed my elder daughter to enjoy the views from the front side. Sunday visit was breeze with very low crowd and we're wandering all over the boat with no prob. I recommend this and is a must to do activity at the falls. No questions!!!

We came at the end of June. It was hot (95) and there were long lines at 2pm. Even if you purchase tickets in advance. But the lines moved fast and once you are on the boat.. wow!!! Totally worth it!!
