What can I say yet again another awesome Birthday Cake. Totally perfect for my Son's 30th Birthday with brilliant attention to the detail of the rugby strip, his hobbies and to the flavour of the chocolate cake were fantastic. Everyone from the restaurant Cote in Exeter to the family and people who saw me carry it around were so impressed. Exactly what I wanted could not have asked for anything better. CEO Retirement cake - I had a fantastic experience with Mad Cakes. They are professional, easy to talk to and the attention to detail was beautiful.
Not only this, but the cake tasted incredible and went down a treat by all.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you and I couldn't recommend you enough.

Saved the day after my cake maker was ill and couldnt bake.
Did exactly what i wanted and it looked great.
Only problem is my wife thought it looked THAT good she didnt want to cut it leaving our guests cakeless

Had the best cake made for my birthday! Honestly the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted!! It was bright and colourful and even though it was really big it lasted about 2 1/2 weeks and was still just as delicious, so we managed to get through the lot!

Wow! Just Wow!
Debbie made our wedding cake and it was just perfect!
The whole experience was so smooth and stress free (if only the whole wedding could have been like this!) right from the initial consultation and tastings through to the final cake.
The traditional side of the cake was simplistic and toppers of both of the grooms. However, when we turned the cake around, the WOW factor impressed both us and our guests as we revealed our Doctor Who and Star Wars themed tiers and toppers. The final design of the cake matched perfectly what we wanted and the designs and ideas we had emailed back and forth to Debbie.
The flavours we chose for the tiers (carrot, Victoria sponge, lemon and raspberry, white chocolate and almond) all tasted absolutely incredible and went down very well with the guests as very little was left at the end of the night
We would highly recommend MadCakes for a cake for any occasion!

Great service from all the staff at Mad Cakes. I needed a 50th Birthday cake, the 5 0 style so technically 2 cakes and needed them in 10 days but they done me proud. Being for my partner (who dose everything for me) I had to come good and couldn t mess this up. When I revealed the cake on the big day I knew I d made the right choice! From start to finish the team at Mad Cakes helped me decide the right design with ideas from previous photos and experience. 1 was Red Velvet and the other was Chocolate Brownie covered in butter icing, they both went down a treat.... The icing on the cake to a perfect day!!!!

Customer service is outstanding. Absolutely fantastic gluten free chocolate cake!! We would have never known it at all, super moist and delicious - we couldn't stay out of it! We will definitely be ordering again. Highly recommend!

I have had all types of cakes from this company over the past few years
and they have been superb .They have just supplied a 95 cake which was
totally outstanding.They are always polite and nothing is to much trouble.

Thanks Debbie for the wonderful cake you made for my sister's 70th birthday, it was perfect and a great hit with the whole family the detail was fantastic I would definately recommend Mad Cakes.

Mad Cakes of Exeter made such an effort for my mum's 60th birthday cake. We gave them an idea and they created something magical. Despite the cake being needed one day after the bank holiday it was incredibly fresh. The moment the cake box lid was lifted we were so happy. My Mum loved it, as did everyone else. A real addition to a party. A showstopper! Thank you to the staff who certainly went the extra mile.

Just want to say if you are looking for an unusual cake design Mad Cakes Exeter seem to be able to tackle anything. They made the most fantastic cake for my husbands surprise 60th birthday in the shape of a London Black a Taxi. Everyone at the party commented on how wonderful it was. At a good price as well.

Did not meet their deadline (after altering it serveal times) and was without cake for most of my birthday. Mad Cakes dealt with this situation very poorly with poor customer service with unprofessional comments including 'why would a 21 year old be bothered'. When cake arrived it not 100% satifactiory with polystyrene keeping it together and it did not fully follow the brief. it's the only cake we had so had to deal with it, but it has created an upsetting situation on my 21st. My advice? Avoid.

I have driven past Mad Cakes a hundred times and never went in, I assumed it was just a cake shop only. Turns out I've been missing out! A cheery welcome, a large selection of food from Custom Cakes to Sandwiches, Breakfasts, Baked Potatoes and not to forget the fantastic Coffee! - With pricing that is affordable and quality of food well above anyone else on Marsh Barton (i've tried them all) I am about to become a regular customer. So thankful Mad Cakes exists! We send customers over as there is Free WiFi, we get our lunch from Mad Cakes because its delicious and gives us energy! Love the place

Debbie at madcakes was very helpful and the cake I ordered was amazing. Highly recommended.

Avoid at all costs.
Went to a birthday party where the cake was provided by madcakes exeter.
It was shoddy, completely not what the buyer wanted and was held together by polystyrene.
Not to mention how bad the cake actually tasted.
When taking the complaint to the shop, we were met with hostility and snarky comments to the point where the owner "debbie" tried to blame us and even stating "what do men know about cakes".

Avoid avoid avoid.

The fact that you cannot leave a review on her facebook page tells you all you need know about how they deal with unsatisfied customers, they even deleted this comment from their facebook page..

Friends of an ex employee? Not sure what that has to do with one of your cakes, as for listing who my wife is, that's slightly creepy and shows that rather than sort out our issues with your workmanship, you take to stalking and threats.

May I add that although I live in Newquay, I grew up in Exmouth and have a vast amount of friends in Exmouth and Exeter.
To which I attended and helped arrange a party, where the cake was poorly supplied by you.
Really shouldn't have to explain where I live and have lived to a business that has taken to stalking rather than actually rectify what you did.
Feel free to report me to Google, I'll supply them with proof of purchase. :)

Great bacon bap cooked to order and friendly staff.

We used mad cakes for our wedding and had a three tiered cake and allergy friendly cupcakes, they were all absolutely delicious and our cake was so beautiful . We loved it! The service was so friendly, professional and fuss free. It was great fun choosing our flavours and designs. Thank you so much! Emily and Liz

My daughter had the most wonderful 10th birthday at Mad Cakes. The cake demonstrator (Claire) was brilliant! She was so friendly and engaging with the children - they loved her (Claire alone should be a 5 star review)!

The location was easy to find with parking too! The birthday venue was decorated wonderfully giving an immediate 'party' atmosphere.

Claire demonstrated lots of interesting themes for the girls' cakes (for example Harry Potter's sorting hat) and it was a very relaxed atmosphere.
The buffet for the children was very substantial with a whole host of lovely food which all of the girls enjoyed.

We loved it and I have spread the word with parents.

So why not 5 stars? (so wanted to give the full house); unfortunately the take-home decorated cakes didn't taste as good as I'd hoped but I am going to book a birthday party for my youngest daughter next year.

I think that it would be great to offer party bags in the future.

Great design's and great tast they really make the best cake ever

Made a fantastic novelty cake for my husband's 50th. He was blown away. Not only did it look fantastic it tasted lovely. Will definitely be coming here again. Have had so many people comment on how great the cake was I can't recommend enough.
