Very nice for turtles. Once it's completed, it will be much bigger. A little congested now . Mostly elderly women are volunteering, one, a little on the grumpy side.
This is the best place to take your family for a fun filled day learning and seeing the turtles up close and personal. MY ADVICE THIS IS A MUST SEE PLACE ..
Great experience for the family. Outdoors, but required masks since people were close to the tanks. Donations are encouraged. Volunteers were very insightful. Gift shop had some fun things- local items and souvenir stuff. It was a bonus that the parking was near the beach so we headed to Juno Beach after our visit.
This place is a blessing. It was amazing to see the passion and the results of the work they do. Donated to them and look forward to supporting them in the future.
Friendly staff explained all the turtles' stories and any questions we had. Took our 2yr old twins who of course wanted to pet them but due to the health of the turtles, you can't touch the tanks even so we had to continue reminding them the turtles were sick and had booboos. Some tanks had windows for easy visibility but others were solid and hard to see from behind the chain. Overall a good experience, would certainly go again.
The science & research center is a great 1-2 hour educational experience seeing several species of turtles rehabbing to hopefully be released back into nature. You can actually watch turtles receiving medical treatment. There is also a great gift shop with proceeds going to the research center. Great for young & old alike!
I think this place would be great for kids, but I have more fun than anyone whenever I go! Fun, educational, and interactive. Just went on a turtle walk last week and saw a loggerhead lay her eggs. Truly Amazing!
I could watch these turtles all day! Outdoor hospital allows for viewing of healing turtles and hatchlings. Lots of volunteers to answer questions. Great gift shop.
Great place to visit with family. They ask for a small optional donation which goes to aid the turtles. You can see the turtles being housed for rehabilitation and ask volunteers your questions. We had a great time!
Cool experience! Loved seeing the good work of the Volunteers! It was interesting to see the care and medical facility where they help these gentle creatures!
*HIGHLY* recommended experience, particularly children. We can t say enough good things about the important work done here and the incredible spirit, dedication and contributions of the handful of full-time staff and the small army of volunteers, who all give of themselves to help loggerhead and other turtles who are so at risk from human overpopulation, human refuse and discarded trash, and boaters and operators of pleasure craft, who think nothing of these enormous, endangered animals who we share waterways with. While we were visiting, a severely injured loggerhead arrived in an emergency, having just been recovered after a distress call. With 10 grisly gashes along its once majestic shell, it s spinal cord was severed, and it was losing fluid and blood with every agonizing breath. The veterinarian specialist and the expert staff did all in their power to triage the great animal, which was writing in pain, but alas they could only move to euthanize it, to allow it to succumb with as little pain, discomfort and fear as possible. We heard that this scene can be repeated 2-3 times a day or just once a week, and that as many as 90% of boat strikes result in a lost turtle. But they also save SO many, and it s incredibly inspiring to see the turtles who are recovering and often released back into the ocean. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, and please support it s work with a visit to the fantastic gift shop.
Not only are they doing amazing work, but they're creating a fun, educational, and incredibly necessary education to all visitors! We sponsored a turtle and will keep track of him through their interactive website. Definitely make this a stop during your free time!
Please support this organization with a donation. They do a lot of conservation, rescue, and education. Really great place. We were lucky enough to see a tutrle release.
Live turtles in easy to see tanks while they recover from sickness or injury. Sizes range from turtles smaller than your hand to huge ones over 400 lbs. Knowledgeable volunteers answer all your questions. Free. Contributions are welcome.
This is a great place that do fantastic rescue work. The staff are friendly and informative. We were able to watch one of the staff cleaning the shell of a turtle.the museum section is also very interesting and informative. It details the work of the rescue centre and it's founder.
Turtle talk was informative and great for the 8-12 yr olds and adults in our group. The work they do is great and it's amazing to see how they care for the turtles
I always visited Loggerhead ever since i was little. Im 25 now. Whenever i have family visiting from out of town taking them here is a MUST! I use to bring my young neice here every other week. Great aquariums, highly educational, and saying hello to our favorite turtles outside is the best.
Veterinary clinic with visitors. No entry - voluntary donations. Approximately 30 tanks each with a turtle in it. Good lettering. Interesting showroom. Big shop. Rear beautiful playground with BBQ possibility. Free parking.
Loggerhead Marine Center is a great place not only for the kids to CC life up-close-and-personal wants to learn about the turtles in nature and what we can do to help protect and save them and also about the nest in the wrong the beach and the impact people have on their nesting site this is a great place has a great and wonderful gift shop as Learning Center and up close and personal tanks with turtles that hopefully will be released into the wild the future
I can t say enough incredible things about this place. Take your kids, parents, partners anyone that you know and love. It is a phenomenal experience like no other and I can t wait to go back!
This place is doing great work rehabilitating sea turtles and educating the public. They operate on donations only, and they need everyone's support. The tanks were all full of turtles being rehabilitated. It is a good time for anyone who is wanting to see live sea turtles.
Spent the week on Singer Island and visited several awesome places, but this is the only one I went back to a second time. This wonderful place, its people, and all that they do for those turtles is nothing short of amazing. We learned so much about turtles and our boys LOVED doing the Junior Vet Program. It was free and 30 minutes, and so much fun. They let the parents hang out with the kids while they're trained to assess turtles. I might have had more fun than they did. They were treating 17 turtles at the time. You could look into the clinic and watch them treat turtles, hang out at the tanks and see them up close and personal, talk to the vets and volunteers. Everyone was super nice and you can tell they love what they do. The museum and gift shops were awesome too. Looking forward to next time.
Neat little stop near Jupiter, FL. Not a whole lot to do but there are plans for expansion of the center. I give 5 stars because they are a sea turtle rescue hospital and they do a fantastic job of raising awareness on pollution and its impact on our oceans. Highly recommend.
Even though they are in renovation.. the information and volunteers to help educate and answer questions were great. Makes you understand how our actions have consequences. Great for kids 2 and up
Just got back from visiting the Marine Rescue. Very informative and colourful display. The people are very friendly and willing to share information about the rescue effort. So many beautiful items in the souvenir shop so please make an effort to buy something there to help this cause. Free to enter but donations are accepted. Money well spent...free parking and very close to the beach so try your best to visit next time you are in Florida. I got a chance to see a turtle named Honda who was rescued 7 months ago from a bacterial infection. He was pretty much starving to death before being rescued. He is now healthy and waiting to be released into the Atlantic Ocean tomorrow :)
Worth a visit and donation... they save turtles!!! It's been a family tradition for 15 years. Take your children, teach the importance of doing your part in protecting the environment.
