Judging by some of the other comments, the architecture doesn't suit some people but the original university is classic Brutalist style architecture akin to the Southbank and the Barbican, designed by Denys Lasdun. More recent additions are competent but fairly ubiquitous uni building style. The whole campus is set in the lovely Earlham Park - no-one can complain of that - and includes the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art which conceals a treasure-house of World Art and contemporary sculpture and painting by the likes of Bacon, Giacometti, Gormley, Moore and many more well-known and talented artists as well as touring and temporary exhibitions. The whole university is well-run and known especially for its creative writing and computer science courses as well as medicine and education

Bad uni - didnt even try and accept me for drama so ive ended up in my home town at Anglia Ruskin which is way nicer than UEA - disgusted by UEA staff and students- very snobbish people actually - for not taking me on and in the end i got a grade that would have got me in for drama -when i visited this place the feel was not friendly - they were almost looking down on us -did not like it at all -one of the worst unis i applied to -id rather stay at home then stay at a horrible like that -all unis accomodation is over priced anyway

Now it's 9:28 p.m. I think going to bed is a bit early. Also, I prefer to show you some pictures that I took in EAST ANGLIA, ENGLAND during the summer of 1964. During study holidays, in a camp to learn English we went on the SOUTHEAST coast of ENGLAND. People were on the beach. We see a guard on a horse. There were many attractions, such as hitting a large hammer blow so that a tree trunk climbed vertically along a wooden wall.

Most appalling, upsetting and down right pathetic graduation experience. Incompetent staff with poor organisational skills held up parents and visitors when they were on time. They then blocked the parking for 20 minutes awaiting a 'procession' which delayed people on time by 30 minutes. 3 years of university to get rewarded by one day ruined by the most disorganised graduation day I have ever attended. Rude staff did not reflect the so called 'well to do' university. A crying shame.

2018 , 04, Still waiting for the reply from the UEA regarding the parking fiasco turns out they as I have been told discriminate against the 1 year student and they are not permitted to park at the uea in their parking very modern Orwellean nightmare, devoid of character, produces or attracts uncaring sociopathic students and staff, who don't think twice about blocking up the parking space in the local community, depriving care workers access to the people in the community spaces to do their job, disabled people can't have visitors, residents access to their homes, was blocked on twitter for commenting on the situation, the council offer is to make people pay for permits / protection money to park outside your own home, disconnected from the community and UEA is basically a swear word, a crying shame.
Thanks for the seemingly concerned response to my comment, it supports what I have said as I have emailed you and received no response, speaking to several other members of the community, this is the M.O of the UEA regarding this matter,.

The UEA is a great place to walk around, as long as you don't mind the concrete buildings. The grounds include Earlham Park and the UEA broad. One building is the Sainsbury's Centre for the Arts, where some shots were filmed for a couple of the Marvel movies.

The University of Est Anglia is about 20 minutes by bus from the center of Norwich. The university campus is immense with the different faculties distributed covering the entire campus. Inside you can find several cafes, gym, park, library, auditoriums just to mention the most visited places. The university is a bulwark of the United Kingdom regarding the academic.

I enjoyed my time studying for an undergraduate and postgraduate degree at UEA. Additionally, the careers service has been second-to-none.

However, it took an entire year to progress from PhD corrections to having official confirmation of passing. This was a significant mental load over a prolonged period of time, and therefore I cannot recommend UEA as a place to study.

Had a wonderful 3 years at UEA.

Lots to get involved in.

Great location, being near the city of Norwich, whilst having the campus community and very tranquil campus as well.

Low living costs.

Superb teaching and support including small seminar groups, and well prepared learning material.

University generally feels very well run.

Excellent employment prospects.

Went here for a couple of years and as a University it provided me as a student with special needs near 0 support and was unsympathetic and uncaring. There was also issues with student suicide attempts and actual deaths. I hope they now support disable students and those with mental health unlike when I was there. I beg anyone with a learning need not to go here.

Really nice space to be in during this very very hot weather. River access available, family grips being respectful of distancing rules. Sainsbury's centre cafe still serving delicious coffee and sweet treats - but no ice cream! Great for a socially distanced get together with granny

I submitted a query to admissions here about transferring to their Computer Graphics course on the 12th January.

Depsite regular chasing I heard nothing back until April - only then had someone decided they wanted to look at my evidence of modules studied from a similar course elsewhere

They responded to me and told me I was unsuccessful which was a singificant blow for me after having been patient in waiting for their response for a good while, I wanted to study that syllabus so I messaged about asking if I could study anything before September to make up the knowledge gap between syllabuses and achieve any sort of reconsideration, and got a message back from Paul Thorpe in admissions who clearly has the empathic ability of a dead piece of cod.

He was messaging someone who is clearly upset about an outcome and wants to come there and spend tuition fees at the university.

In short, dissapointed.

UEA is the best place for Students to learn, explore and pursue their academic goals.
With their state of the art facilities and hostels.. You'll be sure to have a memorable time studying with them.
I know this cos I've asked around.. And I pray that one day I'll be able to afford to study with them too..
If you're privileged enough to afford it, then stop thinking and go for it..
It's worth every penny you'll spend.
See ya in the nearest future..
Ciao..

I came here for its open day on 7th July 2018.

There was lots of parking.
We were greeted by many helpers around the massive campus, who guided us into the main information area, where we got all we needed for the day, including a free tote bag and free water. Wildlife prospers around the area. You may see rabbits!

It s a very quiet and peaceful area, away from the city life. You can find yourself in many quiet places.

Everyone was very helpful. You can walk around yourself or be toured around by friendly students.

I attended the biochemistry talks and the chemistry talks. They were very informative and very helpful. Thank you Mr Hemmings!

You can get very fit from walking around from one class to another, there s a lot of walking needed to get somewhere. It s very spaced out.

The accommodations are very nice. There are three types of accommodations and they are all very modern, and are situated in a quiet area.

The science blocks are state of the art, especially the chemistry laboratories.

However, you can get lost if you don t use the map, as it s very spaced out. I got lost thrice.

This overall is a great university for the scientists. It s like a small town, there are lots of shops, lots of restaurants, a nice community with its own area for all subjects.

However, there isn t much time to look around everything, unless you run all the time!

There are also lots of options for the musician.
The university is also LGBT friendly and actively spreads awareness on sexual harassment and matters like that!

They even have gender neutral toilets!

I am definitely adding this to the list of universities I may apply for! Thank you for everything, UEA. H

The best university in Britain. Who needs an oxbridge when bunnies run around campus here? LCR is better than any club in Ibiza.
Brutalism is not liked only by prudes who do not know its foundations. The community is great.

What a horrible toxic place!! My partner was a top student in the first year, the last two terms of the second year were wiped out due to strikes and Covid, no tuition of any substance was provided during this time. As soon as we submitted a claim for recompense for lost tuition my partner was immediately then accused of plagiarism.
All work had been submitted as previously and was within the guidance rules, all accusations were totally unfounded. They would not provide the supporting evidence as they saw it until just before the hearing, my partner was not allowed any representation and there were four of them. We had a barrister provide advice on what to submit in writing to them and she confirmed they had no justifiable case. A letter was submitted in my partners absence, which was totally disregarded, and they continue to play the plagiarism accusation.
If you value how your hard-earned student loan will be spent please do not go to UEA, you will be lied to, given false promises and punished if you dare to question them be warned
