Nice place, good location, nothing to complain about the menu, but their fries have already seen better days. Nice entries too. The waiters are very well trained, patient and anxious to answer any questions. The cooking is respected. The place is quite contiguous, the circulation in the restaurant is not the most optimal. The experience lived up to our expectations. The fact that this kind of restaurant is a bring your own wine is frankly a great asset.

From the outside it seems like a upscale steak house. Once you get inside ita like an outdoor patio with steel patio furniture. Not to say that's bad, just a surprise. It's bring your own wine which saves on the typical restaurant mark up. The staeks are very good and service is good also.

Not a suitable place for birthdays. Apparently the owner doesn't care for customer service and wants you to go to a different place to celebrate your big day. Wish I had known beforehand. Anyway, now you know!

I use to enjoy that restaurant. Last visit, I did not. Let's say as a starting point we were a group of 20-25, in the few days before Christmas. We all know that such a time is very difficult for the service. Nevertheless it was a really bad experience for all the group.
Let's explain why. 1-we are served bread, just une piece each. Later, when the entree plate is removed, they also removed the bread plate, without refilling even if ask for more.
2-i ordered a hot water lemon a drink. While serving coffee and tea, they were mixed up and while serving me a tea, they remembered it was something else and removed the tea and never served me anything.
4-when we received our invoice, we could see that the tip is included. That wasn't planned. My right neighbor has the places calculated on the meal before service, while my left neighbour has the taxes calculated on both meal and service. My invoice has taxes calculated on neither meal alone or meal and service. Very weird.
Sometimes we say that the meal was correct or not according to what we remember, the meal experience or the invoice. Here, I assure you that I remember the invoice !
Very sad that restaurant was so much under expectations this time.

Good food but little pricey. Bring your own wine type of place. I had a tuna Tataki as an appetizer it was ok but the lamb shank was very good. We paid $200 for 3 people without alcohol is a bit too much. Overall we enjoyed the dinner.

Was looking forward to trying their fish and chips and a very very big disappointment when we were told that they have not served fish and chips for years. Our waiter didn't even bother to offer an alternative dish to us and spoke to us with a snobby attitude. To Steak Frite: if you no longer serve a particular dish, then at least have the courtesy to take it off your website menu like that people wont be disappointed when they walk into your restaurant.

Very good bistro. The steak and fries are more than up to par. The prices are affordable and the service smiling and zen. To discover by going to the Old Town.

My partner ordered things cooked two different ways and they gave us each others dishes. We only found out once we started eating and just swapped plates in front of them when they confirmed. One of us ordered a medium steak but it definitely looked undercooked. They cooked what remained of it and it looked much better after. The ambiance of the restaurant was sub-par for a steak house in my opinion. It was also one of the first times I get a soup at a restaurant and there's no pepper in sight for it. It's nice that you can bring your own wine and that they offer unlimited fries

Good value for money and especially one of the few restaurant "bring your wine" in the business district. However, Friday's Filet Mignon at the Parquet Cafe eclipses all the other steak-houses in the area.

We go here for lunch often with my team. The food is basic but the atmosphere is warm. Good fries. The meat is cooked in butter so you have to like this flavour.

The food is nothing more and the decor very average, the boss is quite arrogant. The first time I went there with a group of 5 people, there was an error in the cooking of my meat I had to wait 15 minutes to get a new steak, all my friends had finished eating, but the waiter was kind enough to offer me a desert.
I went back a week later giving them another chance. This time if it was my brother who had a bad cooking for his meat, I had finished eating when he received his new plate, no gesture or excuse this time though.
I therefore recommend it to everyone around me, there are many other wonderful places where you can eat a better steak with better service.

What a desappointment! Cold atmosphere and without character. A Tuesday night in this restaurant almost empty we did not want to let us choose our place. Everything is overpriced and their steak "Filet St-Paul" was definitely not a trick. Nothing had taste. Extremely disappointed. To avoid.

At arrival hostess was no where to be found. When she got to us 10 min after arrival she served a couple that had just entered the restaurant. Restaurany was half empty. An other 10 minutes later after she served water to the entire restaurant she decided to assign us a table. No smile, no sorry... At that point I was ready to go elsewhere
But we stayed food was great. Had just enough. Steak was a little overcooked but wasnythe end of the world. Price is what you expect from a steakhouse. The waitress and the speed of service once we ordered is the only reason I didnt give a 1 star

Our reservation was at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening and had to leave before 7.30pm. They were very friendly and left us until 8:30 pm without pressure to leave. This is what I like about customer service (understanding and solution) and they have adjusted very well to us.

Let me start this out by saying my wife and I where on a mini honeymoon in Old Montreal . The restaurant was decent. We arrived there before the dinner rush. I had the steak frites my wife had the steak tartare. My steak was a little bit undercooked but it was very good and the amount our food was a good proportion. On the walk to our motel from the restaurant my wife started feeling violently ill. She spend the next 24 hours in the washroom. We hadn't realized that steak tartare was raw hamburger or she would have never ordered it. The food poisoning she received from this meal ruied our honeymoon. I received an email from the restaurant to do a review. I let them know what happened and they never replied to my email so that is why I'm leaving this review. I'm not telling anybody not be here but be cautious of what you eat here.

We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Service was fast if perfunctory. We asked to share a Greek salad, but then had to ask for an additional plate when it was served. Our steaks (my flatiron, my husband's filet mignon) were cooked right, but the fries?
Not much point in endless fries if they are limp, not hot fries. When an item is part of your name, your brand, you ought to get it right.
We're tourists, and unlikely to return, and restaurants know this and essentially don't care. On line reviews are meant to correct that - hope this will help.

The staff was really nice and attentive. I really enjoyed the BYOW (bring your own wine) concept. It kept the bill low and you knew that you would enjoy the wine. The food was really good, but the steaks weren t cooked how we liked them. One was undercooked and one was over cooked. The waiter was very forgiving and we got the undercooked one cooked a little bit more and it was good. The fries were amazing and they are bottomless!

Service wasn't bad. Actually, the staff were good enough. However m, I found the atmosphere to be a little cold(in regards to mood and temperature. For the meal itself. I had ordered Grilled Salmon, which come with vegetables, and bottomless fries. I felt that I had a small portion of vegetables and they remind of the frozen ones. The fries, themselves were not bad tasting at all... As a whole I feel that there wasn't much room for improvement in the meal, and that it wouldn't be hard to make it either. I give it an 8 out of 10(taste, and health being a factor). When in the washroom, I noticed it was still slightly cold, with no music. While using the blow dryer, I couldn't help but notice that the angle blows the water from my hands to about three feet in front of it(which means you get water on your pants) This was all on a Sunday night, with the place almost dead... A warmer ambience would have gotten a 4. And am curious as to how they are on a busy day.

I took a classic poutine, but they charged me the same price as the steak/duck poutine... I even argue with the waiter that this was non-sense, but he did not change it.
The poutine sauce was good still. But if I had knew I would've took the duck poutine of course...

Service has greatly improved. I have gone recently, but was very hesitant to, given all the negative comments about service. I can honestly say that what seemed to be an issue in the last years was not evident this night. Our waiter was very friendly, our water was always full. When we asked for an additional sauce it came in a timely manner. The steaks were sublime and the fries were tasty too. Also, bring your own wine is always a plus! I will be going again.

I had their duck poutine, and this one tasted like old chicken that had been in the fridge for too long, the sauce seemed to be reheated in the microwave, and the cheese was yellow and dry. The service was very slow and confused.

Good service fast. Nice place for meal before going out in old Port or any clubs or bars surrounding the restaurant. Parking spot or easy to find. And downtown that's a rare thing. Best BYOW I can suggest. Price is fair and portion are pretty generous.

Poor service. Your presence seem to annoy the waiter. Especially when you had to ask him to open your bottle of wine, mayo for fries, and anything really. Ordered the tuna. Not sure if I should have eaten it. It was cool inside and had juices like if it was freshly defrosted and all the food came out too fast. And poor quality tuna with grizzly stuff in it. Avoid disapointment and go to McDonald's at least you know what you would get and it won't be disappointment
