A really great small restaurant just off Victoria Square, excellent steaks but no liquor license, so bring your own wine! It's a great concept, and the food was excellent, along with great service, and a much lower final bill! We had the Chateaubriand, which was great: a large center cut of beef filet, served in a wonderful presentation with sauteed mushrooms, green beans and jullienned carrots, and an endless bowl of fries. We never saw the bottom, but we did dent it a bit! There are many times I have a great bottle of wine, but don't really want to cook to make something to enjoy it, here is the solution, with friendly staff!

1 hour 30 wait before receiving our meal, we were not offered bread and not even served the wine that we had to carry. Require to spend $ 25 per person. But when we received the bill they were in a rush to use the credit card. We will not go back ...

Having been to steak frites before at other locations I was very disappointed. Had to send back my plate 3 times unfortunately. After the 3rd time I didn't want it back. 1-very overcooked and no seasoning. 2- very undercooked and no seasoning. 3- overcooked again with no seasoning. No offer by the establishment to rectify or reduce the bill. Paid for my companies dinner, and horrible calimari entre with no complimentary anything! Will Never go back or recommend.

Ordered medium steak, came very rare. The fries were bland, their bring your own wine was in small print on their website. The service had very long delays by the waiter and there was only 8 other people in there. And the attitude was horrible by wait staff.

Always good, service always perfect. A safe bet in the business district. A good place to dine with colleagues, friends, clients or partners. The pepper sauce is really perfect ...... a must ....

Had dinner here. Avoid it. Such poorly run restaurant. Food was less than mediocre. The owner sat drinking while services were falling apart in the busy part of the evening. Really the worst experience in my travels in many years

Terrible service. The bearded waiter is really rude. No need to keep repeating the time when you have to leave the restaurant, we know that. Not as soon as he arrives, he gives us the impression that he is looking forward to leaving. I do not recommend, especially for a group

The food was ok no more. The sauce to my piece of meat was served in a very amateurish way (small stainless dollarama bowl). The cooking was perfect and the vegetables lacked flavor. The service was good but for a group not having bread after 45 minutes even if we were expecting friends is a bit too long. The chairs are definitely very cheap (made of stackable metal and very slippery) and we feel that the space is optimized to the maximum (the jets go of the steak). Cleanliness is ok. In the end I will only return if I am invited by acquaintances who go there. The value for money remains good, slightly lower than I expected.

Walked across the street from my hotel on a very cold night to try SF. The best thing about the experience was my server -- he was super informative, attentive, and quick with everything. Told me about a BYOB policy they have (they don't sell, but they allow you to drink) with NO CORKING FEE, which is amazing! He said it was to promote more dining in Montreal (many restaurants do this), without charging high prices for wine. The steak was ok ($48 RibEye, rare), and the sauces were ok. I've had better, and worse, steaks than this. I would try other places before coming back to this again.

I do not recommend this place.
Food isn't that great, might as well go to a none BYOW and pay for amazing food.
The service was ok.
The manager wasn't too friendly, just told us to leave in 15 minutes because there was a reservation.
We were a big group of 20, at least tell us in advance it just ruined all the Christmas vibes.
He was rude and I would never go back there.
I've been to a lot of restaurants in Montreal and this one goes to my top worst.

I don't understand what happened to this restaurant ... In the past, it was excellent, the atmosphere was extraordinary. Now, it looks like a cafeteria in the visitor center, especially with the view of the corridor with wheelchairs on the side ... The food is okay no more. The note on the menu saying that we must eat for at least $ 25 since it is a bring your own wine testifies to the poor level of quality of the establishment.

Too bad for a restaurant that was so long before.

We had dinner on Friday May 25th. The service is impeccable. Attentive waitress, our glasses always full and make sure everything is to our liking. However, it is expensive paid for average meals. The tuna tartare was tasteless and we had to send back to the kitchen a lamb tenderloin with a lot of flaws in the piece. The meal left us all with a feeling of disappointment. Very noisy too. The bathrooms were lacking in maintenance that evening. This is not a place that I will return to. Marianne

Adequate service, cold and noisy atmosphere and decor. The quality of the food leaves something to be desired. I had the fried steak which is supposed to be their favorite dish. The meat was chewy and tasteless. At least the cooking was successful. It is expensive for a disappointing experience.

We use to come here every week with work colleagues. Steaks are not bad, but as everyone says this place is really overpriced. They have cut the portions in half, and raised the prices in the last year.

The main reason why we stopped going here is that, on one occasion the owner or manager was pissed at us because we were 3 people light on a 12 personnel reservation and made us wait for over an hour before we got served. People arrived after us, received their meals, eat and actually had time to leave before we even received our meals. We were compensated with frozen cupcakes and repeatedly hounded for being 3 people short.

Just before Christmas we went back the manager wasn't there and we had a great time service was good, so we planned another visit. This time the manager was there. We were a table of 8 he sat us in a corner table with only one exit. We created another small (about 1 foot) exit on the other side of the table so we could at least go to the washroom without disturbing the whole table trying to get out. His answer was no we can't do that and we should go to the washroom before the meal.

This guy has very little class, and I will never put another foot in a Steak Frites again, just to make sure I don't encourage a company with such poor management!

If you're in the area and you are looking for a great dining experience I recommend:
L'Accord (Great Restaurant, not a BYOW but impeccable service and just an outstanding place)

This is my 2 cents...

Just to be fair, the steaks are good though. If you want good steaks try the Keg, and the steak selection is actually greater too.

Unfortunately at this place I have a bad experience even if usually in the other franchises of this restaurant I eat adequately this Foissy I took a salmon tartare which unfortunately was served to me on a plate which was hot by imagining the disaster I hope it will be better the next time I go back

Very bad service of the manager who refused to add a table for a group of 12 people explaining that it was full (it was 4 pm and the restaurant was empty) and that space was sufficient. So we had 3 tables of 4 people glued which represents a total of 6 effective places once glued. Leaving 3 hours later, the restaurant was only half full. The waiter was very friendly and had the correct food even though we had to return the snails as they were overcooked.

After walking into the restaurant tonight and having to wait for 5 minutes for a waiter to even acknowledge, 10 to be seated and another 5 to get a menu, it became very apparent that the staff either did not enjoy working here or were understaffed.

Appetizer:
We had ordered the onion soup and escargot for us to share which quite honestly were flavourless and bland, especially for dishes that would normally be abundant in flavour. The soup had large, obtrusive, and for a lack of a better word chunks of mushrooms in it that were too rubbery to eat. The escargot seemed to be merely of the canned variety that were cooked with no salt butter covered with a thin layer of cheese. Tasteless.

Salad:
Both meals came with a salad. I don't know why it is that they feel obligated to do so however their attempt at making one falls short of cutting the stem off a head of lettuce, marinating it in a margarine based dressing and placing a couple of onion shavings on the top for colour.

Main Course:

We had a great time. My bavette steak was excellent and everyone else loved their meals as well. Service was perfect and the frites were fantastic (they keep bringing you more for free). Bringing our own wine was a great idea and brought the bill down ridiculously low. We all will be coming back here.

Get some steaks at the grocery store, put literally anything beyond salt & pepper on them, and grill them yourself - it'll taste better. ambiance 2/10; felt like Foufounes electriques but pretentious. Service was good. Poor value for price. Go somewhere in St-Henri/Atwater or the Plateau for better value.

Good restaurant. I went there for lunch with my colleagues so I opted for the lunch menu. My choice came to the duck salad, which, to my surprise, was a Canadian leg with a side of green salad and fries (unlimited for all dishes). The duck was good but the portion small, the salad it was ok and the fries good. In the end, modern atmosphere and decor, very small portions (the French fries compensate) and the relatively high price. In the past I have tasted steak and it was excellent. Not my first choice of restaurant but I don't recommend it either.

My cousins brought me here for my birthday and the food was really good. I enjoyed the steak, made medium rare to perfection but the vegetable accompaniment was questionable. The service as okay, quite French in the sense they were hands-off but I wouldn't say they weren't the nicest per se.

$$ For a steak house its relatively ok the place is actually nice looking and the food look good.

Now my complain with the establishment was that it fell like they were trying to kicked us out when we didn't even order or food yet, so the kitchen close at 10 and the restaurant close at 11 we order a lil after 9h30, but way before that they were cleaning table and changing the setup for the next day. The problem with that was the amount of noise they were doing while making those change so much disrespect I couldn't believe it.

Now my complain on the food:
I order medium steak and I'm no connaisseur so I went ahead and ate the steak but half way through it,there was alot of blood in my plate and it was to late for me too change it
I want to point out that:
I Love the fack that my waitress try to offert me another small steak to replace this but I was already late for something else so I declined. She offered me a tiramisu for that and I appreciate but I shouldn't have to pay for a not well done steak.

And has a final thing client can't eat for less than 20$ if they eat. That is rubbish straight robbery to eat appetizer

Will not go back but from the people that food was well done it was really good. Thanks
