Still nice, but a bit crowded during the day. Evening is still the nicest when the crowds let up. Otherwise a unique and relaxing experience, but a tad rough around the edges in certain areas. Tacky music and some mechanical noise in places (hot stone beds). Good for the hot pools, dry sauna and steam rooms.

I'm very disappointed. I just recently got a brand new credit card, the first ever transaction and only transaction I've ever done being paying for a valentine's day gift certificate package. It's seems to me now that there is an employee who is selling credit card information working at this spa. Unfortunate because this is a beautiful place, but I will never, ever trust them again with over the phone or non cash transactions for that matter. After having 300$ charged to my card in North Carolina while I was in the middle of a work shift and learning that the only way someone could've done this is with exactly the information I provided the woman on the other end of the line with during my purchase of this gift certificate, it has left a sour taste in my mouth. My card will have a 300 balance that is not usable until the fraud investigation is over and I haven't even had it 2 weeks. This is a great spa, beautiful and well worth the money, but protect your card information from them at all costs !!!!
Love, love, love this place. Love it for a romantic day, or a girls day away. The pools are wonderful, the food is good, the drinks delicious. The relaxed vibe is wonderful. We go morning to night. Lounge by the pools all day, take in the thermal experience, enjoy a massage and then enjoy the hot tubs, fire pits, and lights of the evening.
Went on a Wed evening after work. Wasn't overly busy. Staff were welcoming and offered assistance with how the area was laid out. Maps located around also helped find the different options. My complaint was that some guest didn't comply with no cell phones, in the hot tub - really and inside the yurt... All quiet then a screen lit up. It's annoying!
I don't usually write reviews but I have to share my experience. I visited Nordik yesterday with my friend for her birthday and I have to say the staff there were amazing- Shayne was the only name I got and I wish I had the name of the other 3 staff members who were so helpful. Unfortunately when in line to buy my pass for the thermal experience I started to feel light headed and fainted (this has never happened to me before). My friend took me outside and within seconds I had one staff member come outside with a water bottle, followed shortly by 3 others making sure I was okay. Shayne brought me some juice and stayed with us for a good 20 minutes to ensure everything was okay, eventually showed us to our changing room and waited for us to come out to make sure everything was fine. I started to feel better and I think I was just dehydrated and overwhelmed with the line up- but we were able to enjoy our day and I will definitely be back for a third visit.
Nordik management is complicit with getting Ontario drivers ticketed in their parking lot. They don't provide any warning to Anglophone customers that their cars will be tickets for $438 for expired tags. An infraction that in Ontario leads to a warning in most cases and a $140 in the worst of cases.
Love love love the Nordik Spa. Relaxing atmosphere with quiet calming music in the background, waterfalls, lots of trees, very few bugs. Then there's the socializing area filled with friendly people just relaxing, chatting and having a nice time. Plenty of quiet meditation and relaxation rooms. Hot stone beds, saunas, gazebos with firepits, aromatherapy steam saunas, .... just wonderful and you can opt to pay extra for a massage. It's a must try. Or in my case a must go at least twice per year.
The massages were great. Do NOT get the gourmet lunch included in any gift certificates - you don t save anything, and it restricts you to only a couple items on the menu.
Great place! Beautiful. Great service and quality. Only thing lacking is better roofing for the outdoor robe and towel racks, more access to towels and robes would be better.
Great place to spend the day resting and relaxing. With your partner or a group. Atmosphere is very positive. Great selection of cocktails and great tacos.
As always, amazing time. Was greeted by Thea at the front counter. She was cheerful, funny and helpful. Had a massage from Remi and it was one of the best massages I ever had. Cannot say enough good things about this place.
The best spa experience. I have made the drive from Toronto to Ottawa just for the Spa twice in the last 3 months. Will definitely recommend to anyone wanting an exceptionally relaxing experience.
Nice place. very pleasant. However, the silence is not very well managed so in some baths it looks more like a discussion group than a moment of relaxation.
First Soa experience in the region... comfortable, convenient, very large facility with multiple bath and ambiance. I could do away with the new age music but I guess most clients must like it
Usually I would have given at least 4 stars. My experience tonight unfortunately did not live up to the usual reputation. The clients did not respect the limit in the saunas, the wearing of the mask was more than random, really disappointed. Very loud, people were screaming, others were arguing very loudly. No more silent areas, it's a shame when the first reason why I liked going there was to take the time to recharge my batteries and really rest. Impossible to do this evening, we have barely stayed 2 hours. If you are looking for a relaxing experience, right now might not be the best time to go. Unless the previous experience comes back to the meeting, for the price we have to pay, I'll find another way to relax.
So this is my review for Nordik Spa. Two years ago, it was my birthday, my (ex) had told me we were going out to Nordik Spa as a gift. Any women being told they re going to get a massage are extremely happy. And I was.
When we got there, there was LITTLE parking places left, it was at night, so.. I m not to judge and say anything, maybe it s normal, I don t know. So we get in, he pays, and we go where the lady had told us to go. (Service at the front desk was a bit snobby, but whatever) I m typically a reserved person, I don t like being alone in a place I don t know anyone, or the environment. So after 20mins of going up and down, being told we aren t in the right place, the staff calling each other on the wakey-talkies asking each other the same question as us WHERE ARE WE SUPPOST TO BE, turns out, we aren t in the same room, and we had two separate rooms. ALONE with some lady.
So after explaining we were to be together, we were told that either we take the massage now and lose 20mins, since they had more people that had an appointment, or wait to reschedule in a month or so, because they were booked.
So we ended up taking the massage that day, I wasn t comfortable AT ALL. So didn t really like the experience. After all this, we decide to explain to the counter what had happened, she argued that we cannot get our money back, and offered us to go to the Saunas and baths for free. We went, but, we didn t stay very long, it was very crowded and noisy.
I would not recommend this place, very expensive for the poor customer service you receive.
After not being for over 2 years I decided I wanted to go as a day for my husbands and my birthdays. The new reservation system made me happy because I could remember the long lines or not being able to get in because it was full.
We went on a Saturday in the afternoon, but honestly I felt like we went to a club. It was crowded and loud and people were rude. People on their cell phones or talking in the no talking area.
We spent almost 500$ on our visit between the thermal experience, Kalla treatment and food and we left potentially more stressed than when we arrived.
The food was delicious but their portions have gotten smaller and prices are high for what you get - it's nothing "special" but they charge as if it's super gourmet.
Drinks are a bit pricey and they don't have everything on the menu in stock at all times which I guess can happen but disappointing to want a specific type of wine and having to settle for something else entirely.
Women's change room that I was assigned (the one down the stairs from reception) is small and crowded. The water barely trickles out of the shower heads so I couldn't even wash off the chlorine. Encountered rude people in change room as well on their phones and blocking my locker carrying on super loud conversations with the group.
Overall my husband and I were very disappointed and wont be returning to this spa.
With 2 young kids and a busy work schedule it isn't possible for us to just pickup mid week and go. When apparently it's not so resort like.i don't think it should be like a resort no matter what day you go - it's a spa not an all inclusive in Mexico.
Well be finding a smaller not so busy spa to go to - I'd honestly rather go to the brookstreet hotel and spa.
We came on a Sunday evening to avoid the crowds. Had a nice light dinner, massage and then enjoyed the spa. The staff are very courteous and bi-lingual. Could not believe the variety of hot tubs, saunas and pools. Some paths are narrow and not very well lit at night. Watch out for some of the stone steps. My only other "issue" is that they only activated one of our bracelets to be able to charge to our credit card instead of both. They should have asked instead of assuming that we would stay together the whole time.
Best water circuit spa hands down out of the ones I've been to (been to 3 outdoors ones) My friend and I booked a massage initially after our previous experiences at water circuit spas (an hour or 2 in the water, then massage) but this spa was so much bigger.
We stayed 5 hours and STILL didn't get to go to all the hot rooms. They have heated yurts, to stone beds, to fire, to rocks. Wow. Also a few times a day there is a performance in one of the hot rooms. Amazing.
I've been here 3 times and love it! I recommend going on a weekday rather than a weekend if you're looking for peace and quiet. The one time we were there on a weekend, it was more like a party location than a spa. There are talking, whispering, and silent areas, and the only reason I don't give 5 stars here is because often people are talking in the silent area, which is irritating. Otherwise, it's a beautiful setting and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cost to get in is reasonable, given that you can stay all day/evening.
Great facility, awful staff. We were two couples visiting there, enjoyed the spa and steam room and saltwater pool and all. But on several occasions we found the staff rude or disrespectful.
This getaway was highly disappointing. I'm coming from Vancouver, I heard that this was the best spa in Canada. To my surprise , It was very disappointing how Spa Nordic Nature really handled my situation. Before the night was done ,I was going into the change room with my friend to finish my relaxing night. I was in TOTAL SHOCK.The lockers were MOSTLY ALL OPEN except other people's locker including my friend were still closed. My locker was 301 and it was open!! ALL my belongings EXPOSED , PURSE OPENED, and my Belongings DISPLACED and missing MONEY. I DID not leave my LOCKER OPEN, When I proceeded to ask the employees that were downstairs in the change room why my locker was open , she literally said I DIDN'T KNOW SOMEONES BELONGINGS WERE IN THERE. They were not mindful of my security and quite frankly it was an invasion of privacy. I AM VERY UPSET. I proceeded upstairs to speak to the manager and he told me he would INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER and ASSURED ME he would call me back Monday. I still have not received a call or an email. Spa Nordik has an Obligation to ensure the safety of consumers belongings by giving us our own Lock wristband. Incidents like this SHOULD NOT happen whatsoever. I would not recommend bringing any of your expensive belongings because even with its guaranteed Locker Rules. Your never safe. I will not be back to this place AT ALL.
My husband brought me to Nordik Spa for my birthday. We had a wonderful day complete with delicious food and an outstanding couples massage. I highly recommend the salt water experience. Floating around in the silent pool was beyond relaxing. The saunas were amazing as well! We will definitely be returning for another visit in the near future. I highly recommend spending the day there. Upon our arrival it seemed extremely busy as it was on a Saturday but the grounds are so expansive that you really didn't feel overwhelmed by all of the guests. It truly was a wonderful experience.
Nordik Spa has grown significantly over the years and has lots of areas to relax and unwind. The biggest issue I have though is with the staff. They are just so rude, and the customer service is very sub par. Also, the hot tubs are not very hot, and in the winter that's a problem. Finally, the price just isn't worth it anymore ($68).
Fantastic spa, it has everything you need for a full day of relaxation. The only issue is the parking, and you should arrive as early as possible for a good spot. The views at night are phenomenal and I would go back again just for that!
Really great massage by Jonathan. Spent the whole day trying out all the different kinds of saunas and pool and hot tub.. really an amazing spa. The only downfall would be the food and drink prices. Kind of a rip off.
Always perfect. Best to come early unless you have a massage or other appointment. I have been turned away once in the afternoon because they were full. I have spent two New Years Eves here and both were magical. The food was excellent.
What an amazing spa experience in a surreal environment. From the moment you drive up to the complex, the surrounding area immediately brings a sense of calmness within you. I visited the spa for the first time last summer although the check in queue was pretty long, the staff was extremely friendly and informative. I believe if you visit before the high season , you cannot reserve a certain time to enter the spa but because I had a massage booking that day, I was guaranteed access into the thermal baths beforehand. At check-in they will provide you with a bracelet which is connected to your locker as well as your credit card so you can easily pay for everything you consume without carrying your wallet with you.
There are numerous thermal baths available and even with the amount of people on the complex, you ll be able to find peace and tranquility. It s good to check the maps on site to see which baths/steam/sauna you want to check out. I highly recommend the Finlandia sauna for the Aufguss ritual. It s not far from the entrance area and it s an experience you do NOT want to miss. Check the timetable board outside the sauna room to make sure you don t miss it! If you walk towards the back of the spa, that s where you ll find the louder and rowdier crowd close to the infinity pool and sunbathing loungers. There you can grab a beverage and enjoy the sun with your friends or visit the restaurant for a bite.
My one-hour intensive massage was hands down one of the best massages I ve ever experienced. The masseur was attentive and professional, and he made sure to take care of all the fatigue and discomforts I had in my back. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire spa experience here and cannot recommend this place enough.
While the staff and pools are a lovely , the sheer disorganization and long lines due to the cumbersome check in process really takes away from the experience. A review of how they check in guests is overdue.
I love this place, so excited about them opening another one closer to home. Driving 6 hours to come here is ok once in a while but I would like to come more regularly and now I'll be able to! Can't save enough about Nordik Spa, it's fabulous!?
The facilities are beautiful and well designed, but the day-to-day management of this place is lacking so much that it unfortunately ruins the whole experience. You can t reserve a spot online, but when you show up in person on a weekend there is a line up and you have to wait for 2-3 hours. The customer service person I called didn t mention anything about that, or we would have come earlier and put our names down before lunch. Another thing is that we were told the place closes at midnight, but when we showed up at one of the restaurants for a quick bite and a drink at 11 pm we were told all of the cafes and restaurants on the premises close at 11 pm. There was no mention of that when we checked in two hours earlier. Lastly, there was a lot of garbage lying around, water containers were empty and audio equipment not working. Too bad such a nice place is being run inadequately...
My wife and I arrived at this place around 10am, as we have for years, and were told that reservations are now required to get in...and the earliest they had for us was 4pm! We have a bunch of gift certificates, so I asked to speak to a Manager and reason with them. They wouldn't budge...they told us it was our responsibility to inform ourselves of their policies. I informed them that our certificates had a bunch of policies written on them, but did not mention reservations. They didn't care and wouldn't reimburse our gift certificates. BRUTAL
That was the nicest spa I have ever seen. Admission cost about 60 converted, but it was absolutely worth it! I can not wait to go back to Canada and a visit to the spa is already scheduled !!!
A great location and amazing concept with some significant drawbacks.
1. Education : no explanation is provided about the different baths, saunas, etc. You are left to go into the facility and try things out. No order is suggested, no guidance provided.
2. Towels: for the price of admission, you should get two (not one) so you have a towel for the baths and saunas, and a clean one for your shower.
3. Crowd control: it's great that the place is so popular, but they need to better control the amount of people on site. Waiting to get into baths and pools is not acceptable. Nor is having to brush up with strangers in the water when you're supposed to be there to relax.
4. The panorama section is a farce - think Punta Cana in Chelsea. It looks and feels like a party zone (minus the music), not like a place of relaxation. The copious amount of alcohol being consumed by all doesn't help. We went in and out immediately.
5. Cleanliness: due to the amount of people on site, some of the pools are dirty. I mean visible filth in the water, Hair and more floating around. The change rooms were also quite dirty, with used bathrobes and towels lying everywhere on the ground and benches.
All the points above underline that the Nordik is a victim of its success. They should endeavour to make the experience a calm, relaxing and clean one once again, or face turning into a simple water park for adults to get drunk at. I'm sure the latter probably makes more money :(
