Went for a relaxing evening with my sister and mother,. The reason for one lost star was that a section of the paths were not salted and my sister slipped on ice and hurt her knee. However, first aid staff was right there right away. He literally came out of no where to help her and to see if she was ok. My sister was embarrassed that she fell and didn't want to say she was hurt right then because she was still in a bit of shock. we sat for dinner and her pain continued to get worse so she went up to make a injury report to which the manager of the restaurant comped our hole meal for the inconvenience. Thank you Nordik Spa for being so nice and accomidating.

Wow... hadn't been here in a while and was completely lost!!! It is completely different. The Nordik is HUGE! So many pools, saunas and restaurants to choose from! The khalla pool is so relaxing! Can't wait to go back!!!
Very popular spot (can get crowded) but somehow remains relaxing. New additions allow you to choose between quiet and relaxing and relaxation with a drink and some music! Something for everyone!
Got there on Saturday at 10, waited in line for 30 min to find out that it was going to be about a 2 hour wait! We had massages booked in the afternoon, so we were allowed to wait and not put on a waiting list. My sister flew to Ottawa and I drove 3 hours just for this. We left and came back in time for our massages which they changed the times for (because they were overbooked) and we didn't get to have ours at the same time. In the end, we did enjoy the spa, but the process of getting there was certainly not expected.
I've been here in the past and its been wonderful. Today was different...the service was pretty bad. They were starting to close 45 minutes before closing and emptying peoples lockers before 24:00 and removing their things. Luckily I went into the locker room right as they were doing so. My stuff didn't get removed, but some guy I. The locker room got all of his stuff removed and then was told to go to lost and found to retrieve it. I bumped into him again and over heard that his credit card was missing from his wallet. My girlfriend was over hearing the female workers in the woman's change room talk badly about the customers in French. She is bilingual, so she had no difficulty understanding them. They were saying like we should just kick them out etc etc etc. Also...someone stole my flip flops and personal robe. All in all not happy with this visit.
A fantastic place to get away from it all! So relaxing and calming! A great place to go with a friend, partner or even alone! Only got to stay for a few hours as it started to pour rain but if the weather cooperated you could easily stay a whole day.
In a previous experience I loved this place, which is the ONLY reason I give it even 3 stars; however, today was well beyond disappointing. To begin, the service was absolutely atrocious. Not only was it unreasonably slow (there were only 3 tables being served and it took over 20 minutes for a single glass of wine), but the "servers" were very rude. Beyond this, they also started removing the paid for and/or owned belongings of the paying guests 15 minutes before closing - I saw a staff member pick up and walk away with my rented robe and personal belongings, luckily I stopped him, because my spouse, whose stuff was right next to mine, didn't get his stuff back from them. To finish off the night, we watched some of the staff promptly make their way to a very loud party just down the street - which I am 100% in support of, if, of course, you've actually done your job first. On the flip side, the bartender by the infinity pool was fantastic - he remembered orders and was very charismatic. As well, the general atmosphere and pools were still excellent.
To contrast this and to support the absolutely wonderful experience I had in the past, I include my previous review:
I went to this spa for a bachelorette party - what an excellent way to celebrate! Such a relaxing experience filled with great pools, food, and wine. I didn't do any extra treatments because the pools were enough reason to visit, but I will definitely try some out the next time I visit!
Don't bother attempt going with someone with a disability. Just because they have a wheelchair sign in front of 3 parking spots, doesn't mean they are accessible. So many stairs, no help getting around (directions) and the washrooms aren't even accessible. That aside, it's still overpriced and too snooty for enjoyment. It was my first time there and after paying at the front desk I had no idea where to go. The sales person gave no instructions, no directions, nothing. I was standing there trying to flag someone down with a Nor-dick T-shirt to no avail. When I finally found someone to tell me where the ladie's change room was, there were no signs to get from the change room to the Kalla treatment. None. I'm sorry but when it's freezing out and you're mostly naked, you don't want to be going all around their maze to figure out where you need to go. The signs take you to the next batch of pools but nothing about how to return to the "main lodge". Pass on this place. I'll be doing floats in Ottawa (Nor-dick likes to boast they're the only place to float in all of North America, but they're not). Don't get me started on the massages.... run of the mill. I doubt they're even licensed masseuses as they don't know how to actually rub muscle, just push your skin around a bit. I had to reapeat several times to go a bit hard, and I don't even like deep tissue. Too much hype for nothing really!!
This place gets really busy so be there before 9am to avoid standing in line out in the cold. Read a lot of negative reviews but it did not stop us from experiencing the largest spa in North America! I truly enjoyed my visit and will definitely come back! I especially love their Eucalyptus steam sauna and the Panorama area. Useful tips: come on a full stomach because the restaurant gets crazy busy and always watch your spa robe!
Excellent facilities, just don't order the hamburger.
Had a good set of face and body treatments. They did what they reported, however is a little overpriced.
RMTs were fantastic.
Food was only ok. Ate lunch and supper there. The gyro was really good, so was the smoked salmon. Hamburger on the other hand was really sad. It was a frozen patty that had the hell cooked out of it, and a little burned. McDonalds does a better burger.
The thermal circuit was the star of the trip, and will be the reason we will return.
I ve been going to Le Nordik for years for massages, but have had issues along the way. Reception sent me to the wrong waiting area one time. Another time I had a very rude employee on the phone when I called to change an appointment, but May 12, 2018 was the worst. I live in Kanata which is a 50 minute drive from Le Nordik. I booked an appointment in April with Alexandre. I ve been seeing him for years. My appointment was for 8:30 pm on May 12th. On May 11th Le Nordik sent me a confirmation email about the appointment and I confirmed I d be there. The next night I get there and the receptionist tells me my appointment is with Nadia. I corrected her, No I always see Alexandre. I ve been coming here for years. He s who I m booked with. She says, Ahh, I see what happen. He was sick today so we switched you to Nadia. I prefer a male masseuse. She had no one else available just Nadia. She apoligized and admitted they forgot to call me about Alexandre being sick. Ok then I would expect a free massage next time I go. No, she tells me I have to pay for the massage with Nadia and only after I do that will she give me a voucher where 2 people can get a massage for the price of one. That s fine if you have a wife, husband, boyfriend. I m single and have been going to Le Nordik alone for years. This voucher is absolutely no good to me. In addition, the massage is $105 plus tax. That s $120.72 - very expensive. Alexandre was worth the price. I ve had massages there before by others that were horrible. Regardless, I booked with Alexandre and he was not there. Why should I be paying for a massage with Nadia? Gas is now $1.37 per litre and I drove for 50 minutes there and 50 minutes back home. Why is it when you miss your appointment they charge you, but when they don t show up there s no compensation? What they offered me was not usable in my situation and therefore not acceptable. It s not acceptable to do this to a loyal customer who has been going there for so many years. This was Le Nordik s mistake but my evening was wasted because of it and it was no issue for them. That s not what I call a credible company. It s lousy customer service. If I book an appointment for a massage with someone and that person is not there then the entire system is unreliable.
It will not happen to me again. I ll never go there again. There have been too many issues. Mostly front desk/reception issues and issues with management not offering compensation for errors they make. Pay a heavy price and get lousy or no service.
Amazing. Super relaxing. Beautiful pools and landscaping. Friendly staff. Especially love the Aufguss in the saunas and the Kalla treatment. Great how they divide the areas into noise levels for speaking so you don't need to hear other conversation when you want to relax. Sitting by the fires and hanging out in the hammocks or on the beds outside is great. Favorite place to go when I want to treat myself.
Nice facility but felt more like a place for social gathering than a spa. They attempt to designate areas based on noise level but it's poorly unforced, therefore it's hard to fully relax even in the area designated as "silent". I've been to the Nordic spa in Blue Mountain and prefer that one as it's more of a relaxing spa experience.
Staff should be more abundant to enforce no talking. When people are loud and talking it really ruins the experience of meditative peace. Also not enough staff to properly greet customers in restaurants. We waited to be seated without being greeted or helped to get on a waitlist to sit and eat.
It's overall a great experience but they need to up their customer service game hard, because the experience of peace, quiet, and upscale service, is dying. They can continue with the status quo because it makes money and there's nowhere else like this place as an alternative.
On Monday, September 8th, me and my husband spent the day at the Nordik spa in Chelsea. Just after we left at around 6 pm, I realized that I had forgotten my vow in my locker. I immediately called to speak to a lady who works in the customer service to let him know with all the details of my vesse and my locker number for me to answer that she immediately sent an email to the Spa Nordik and someone was going to call me either the same night or the next day to tell me he was put aside. Today, September 13, and I have not received a call yet! I decided to call back and to make myself say "madam if no one called you is that they didnt find your spiel! "I'm sure if I pay for the day he does not give my locker to anyone! I am so disappointed! The staff are very welcoming and friendly while you are there but after you pay and go, he does not care!
Went there at peak busy time and was told that we would be waiting for maybe an hour but only waited for 30 or so minutes. Big spa, lots of places to see. Lots of pools. Very relaxing. They don't always enforce the quiet zones, but since it's so busy that's understandable!
Despite many crowds the place is surprisingly very relaxing, the scenery is beautiful and the atmosphere is so tranquil and peaceful. A wonderful spot for body and mind.
We had an issue with some of the areas being unavailable in the thermal spa experience during our last visit due to maintenance at the facility. The spa corrected and went over and bove to fix our situation and left us feeling good about our next visit to the spa. Thank you for your timely and helpful customer service experience!!
I'm the luckiest Mum alive today!!!! This was my first adventure to experience Nordik Spa-Nature (on my BD) we arrived around 530-600 just coming into darkness. Best time of the day !! Stars, Moon, Milky way! The soft murmur of other adventurers. The swish and sway of the many water features. All of what I experienced was magical, I honestly can't wait to experience more and more and more!!!
Noise, alcohol, coffee, and party atmosphere prevented any type of relaxation. Surrounded by drunks, bar music, lively conversations.... Not the right place to have a bachelorette party or guys night out. No staff prevented noise from quiet areas. Pools were full of paper cups and glass bottles. Water fountains were broken or served warm water. Upon check in we were told to wait an hour as it was so full, we have up like most as we saw people just ignore the wait and stroll in.
I have been here numerous times, but not for over a year. I will never return.
I have referred dozen of people to have Thier weekend getaways here... I now have slot of apologies to send with retractions.
From 5 star to 1 star in a single visit. Perhaps if they reclassify themselves as a nightclub with swim up bar instead of spa I would change my review.
Although my experiences in the past have been positive, the experience has taken a steep dive. Spa fails to mention on their website and in person that half of the amenities are either closed or unavailable, while at the same time hiking up prices drastically. Had to call in later just to receive a receipt even after requesting one from the front desk.
We spent the afternoon and early evening here yesterday, for our first experience at Nordik Spa, and we were pleasantly surprised. We picked the basic baths package ($70ish each) and really enjoyed the selection of baths and saunas. Despite it being a busy day, we still felt we had our space at each location. Our favourites were the Russian Spa with the salt exfoliation and the Hot Stone beds. It definitely quieted down after 4pm or so, so if you're looking for a tranquil experience, I'd suggest a late afternoon/early evening visit!
Close to the city yet far enough to admire the beauty of the cityscape.
So many options to chose from to bake yourself into a relaxed pile of mush.
Clean and large change rooms.
A variety of massage and Spa treatments that don't disappoint.
Delicious food at the restaurants (although I was very disappointed to see the pizza and sandwich of the day are gone).
I definitely recommend the aufgus in the Finnish sauna followed by three full cycles then find the quiet fireplace near the teepees for a nap next to the fireplace under the heat lamps. Heaven!!! Don't skip the cooling part. It makes a difference. For those less inclined to hit the frozen waterfall, the temperate pool isn't so terrible.
The new ponds filling into the infinity pool are wonderful to float in as well.
Neat trick, grab a handful of ice and wrap it into your towel. When it gets to hard to breathe in the air in the same, breath I to your towel for cooler air.
Exchange your towel when it's too wet.
Bring flip-flops and keep them close to the jacuzzi in winter to warm them before putting them on.
Bring a bathrobe for when you go eat or for the nap. Otherwise, it isn't so necessary.
Books glue will melt in the sauna so bring books that you don't mind destroying if you plan on reading in the heat.
This is an amazing spa. Perfect for spending the day with your significant other or with friends. The food and drinks can be a bit pricey. And, if you're arriving in the morning plan on a bit of a wait.
What a great place to relax. Once you enter the place you forget about every stress you have had till then and just immerse yourself in all the peacefulness around. This is my second time here and the Banya relaxation room, sauna and exfoliation rooms are a great add on to the facility. We even tried the couples massage in the outdoor cabins and I fell asleep, it was that good! Must visit!
I visited the spa on Thanksgiving holiday, and it instantly became one of my favorite places near by Ottawa. Although there is no instruction how to best use the spa, it recommends hot-cold-rest cycles using various facilities, such as dry spa, steam spa, hot tube, cold tube, pools, hot shower, and relaxing areas.
There are also a cafe and a restaurant inside of the spa. I started my spa experience with a latte (it wasn t good though) from the cafe around 8:30 am, and it was good that I went there early enough so that not so many people were around. I had a lunch in the restaurant around 11:30 am, and by the time I left, there was a waiting line outside of the restaurant. The restaurant provided very good service and the food was good too. Considering the spa is a popular place, I recommend you to do everything a bit early not to wait in line. The relaxing area provides free tea but hard to find a seat inside.
Online reservation, swim-suites, shower gown, and slippers ($10 if you purchase them inside) are must. If you want to have food inside, you have to make $150 deposit, and they detract the money according to your spending from the system. Easy to use and understand. For the entrance fee, slippers, coffee, food purchases for two people, I spent around $260. It was worth it, I will definitely go back. I think fall is the best season to visit the spa, otherwise it would be too cold or hot.
I've been going to nordik for the last few years and it seems like the prices have been getting higher and the quality lower. The towels they provide are much smaller and thinner than what they used to be and the lockers much smaller. Aside from the quality, the experience wasn't so great either. It was extremely overcrowded. All of the warm areas with firepits were taken so we had to settle to spending most of the time indoors if we weren't in the pools (which were also overcrowded). I feel like it's no longer worth the money.
This visit I found that the hot tubs were whimpy warm....very disappointing. Bring your own robe for sure....in fact bring two and a real size towel. Sam is fabulous at the sauna experience....quite entertaining.
Really good spa. There are a lot of options available depending on your preferences (baths, saunas, freezing water, etc.). They serve cocktails on site which is a plus - something you don't get everywhere else. Only downside is that it's always crowded and the pre-authorization payments for drinks/food can be improved.
I have visited the spa many times and normally very pleased. This time was not great. People constantly talking in the silent area. Garbage everywhere. I paid extra for the salt water pool...in which grown ups were kicking in the water and yelling. Making everyone leave the normally very zen experience. It saddens me that people are mistaken what the thermal bath experience is meant for. Not a hot tub for socializing. I understand the staff must do the best they can. I drove 6.5hrs to have a stressful mediocre experience.
We've had love hate relationship with this place... Started out giving it 5 stars, then a one star, and now I'm giving it 4.
Thankfully they've changed their policies to allow people to make reservations, which was such an awesome game changer. We live a long way away and don't wish to spend the night or use the "treatments" so we'd been turned away at the gates a few times... It wasn't just the inability to get admission, it was the attitude about it that hurt... Hopefully no more with this new policy!
We've always loved the restaurants and hot tubs. Delighted they have gluten free foods for my hubby. The placed is always clean and well maintained.
Will def recommend now that reservations are possible!
If you're visiting Ottawa area, you must visit this place. You could spend all day there enjoying the sauna, wet sauna, hot tubs, massages etc. It's a bit pricier on weekends vs week days. The place is usually packed on weekend and there's a wait. Try to come early
My massage was disappointing, she kept stopping and washing her hand , not sure why, it was annoying. Hot tubs and saunas were nice. Wish I'd brought a book to relax in one of the fireplace rooms. Quesadilla at the social pub was tasty but needs a side of salsa with the sour cream.
One word Relaxing, we spent two days at this SPA and the experience was outstanding. Friendly service in a very relaxing atmosphere. The facilities and location are great as well. Can only recommend.
Back again in 2017, place got even better with new buildings and pools.
My first time at a spa like this one and I really enjoyed myself.
The layout and options for relaxation are unmatched with me. Would highly recommend the Russian Sauna and Exfoliating epson salt area, followed by a dip in the ice bath and a relaxation session.
COVID restrictions were respected and staff was on top of letting people know.
The best, the biggest, the most service, the one with the most sauna and spa and do not forget the floating salt pool Kalla, we go to 3 or 4 spa a year and none equal the Nordik spa nature is far (2hr from Montreal) but once a year we go there. The service, unlimited towels, hot drink as herbal tea and free tea served at will. go see the website it's worth it.
Beautiful spa. Wonderful facial and massage, highly recommend adding those. Really fun way to spend the day. Everything was very clean and smelled nice. Thursday is a great day to go where it wasn't too crowded. Bring your own robe and change towels often.
Too bad experience, we lost our items there and they didn t gave us any good response. The service is horrible and everywhere in restroom is mess up . Don t go to this place!
Totally love my experience there. Nice place to relax and just enjoy. Just make sure when you go to buy a package before hand, to help skip the long line up.
It's nice and relaxing but not everyone respects the silence rule and there's no one enforcing it so you might snap out of your comfort zone because of few inconsiderate people... Massage therapist are pros! Got the best massage in years.
They need to be more efficient. It is too much to stay in line for 2 hours. They need to find a way to process faster when you pay to enter. Not efficient at all. I am dissapointed.
I can't get enough of this place. I've been finding myself back here time after time for their exceptional customer service and amenities. Even when I have moved away from Ottawa, we make the trip back just to be able to be at our favorite spa.
Nordik is lovely and it's always a pleasure to go. The hot and cold pools are great on their own, but with the saunas and massage it makes for a great day. Only critique would be that some of the pricing information online is not clear when it comes to adding specific treatments or paying for them on their own.
Had to wait about an hour outside in line to get in. (Went on Saturday for thermal experience without an appointment). Worth the wait. Beautiful location, attentive staff, great amenities. Excellent food and drink selection.
The spa as busy on a Saturday morning and there was a 15+ minute wait to get in despite arriving just after opening. Many patrons seemed to have difficulty understanding the concept of quiet areas despite the staff attempting to enforce this. It didn't particularly take away from our experience but if you're looking for quiet don't go on the weekend. The restaurant had affordable salads and sandwiches. It was nice for the convenience but don't expect anything special.
Nordik Spa has beautiful grounds with a variety of hot and cold pools to fit all clients' needs. The thermal experience was worth the 70$ per person plus robe rental fee. Their customer service could be improved as it took a while for our server to come take our order for an appetizer. Overall, Nordik has a wide arrangement of relaxation spots, and the chairs, sofas, and beds were comfortable. However, some guests did not follow the "whispering, or silent areas," which was a bit of a dissapointment. The music was calming, and drinks were refreshing. Will definitely be returning to the Nordik Spa in Chelsea!
