This spa is GORGEOUS. The grounds themselves are maintained immaculately. I love everything they had to offer in the thermal pools. I especially love that they have different style pools, treatments and saunas from all over the world. The only thing (that s entirely NOT their fault) is the other guests. People are disgusting! Leaving their robes on the steps, empty cups and garbage in the parking lot. WHY would anyone do that or think it s okay?! Please be respectful. Also, don t yell and talk loudly. People are here to relax, not socialize or listen to your conversations.

Not recommended! I experienced horrible customer service at the hands of a manager. I was shocked by how appalling the customer service was at this place. As a visitor, I was very excited to try this out. Instead when I called the manager to ask a question about our purchase, because they had completely overbooked and were herding people like cattle, the manager - Kim - yelled at me. I was shocked that this is the way they treat customers. I also shared my experience with locals after this happened and they were in agreement that Nordik Spa has gone down hill the past couple of years.

Always felt great after spending time there, so much variety for relaxation, love the place very much. I'd just suggest one thing, i.e. to make sure the polar bear dip tanks are really polar temperature, nothing more disappointing when you got your body ready for a cold dip and ended up in a body of warm water... Happened more than once for the times I went. Still would recommend to anyone of course.

Really amazing spa! Worth the 2 hour drive. I really loved the panorama pool as well as the salt water floating spa. I liked the options for food and drink. RECOMMENDATION: I would only wish the robes and towels were included or, cheaper. Maybe half the price? Though I understand that it costs a lot for cleaning them. I also think that the spa looks more homely with people wearing their own robes and it takes away that very white, clean spa feeling. Saw someone with a robe that has colored circles. Humm. It doesn t enhance the place s visual appeal. I guess that s not too important though and the place is so beautiful anyway. Also, I really think that there needs to be more emphasis on silence in the areas where speaking or whispering should actually be forbidden, like in the medication sauna. People would still whisper. I had a hard time relaxing in some of the chill zones because there was still a lot of talking, especially when doors were open to the outside or it was an outdoor space. The restaurant had a nice selection of food options. Service was great. I didn t do any of the massages but I m sure they d be amazing. I also liked the beer garden, nice touch and good vibe. It s nice that people have a specific area to socialize as well in the panorama pool and so on. I would go back for sure.

This is a nice place to unwind and relax but it's more enjoyable in the colder months. We visited in July and after experiencing 3 saunas I felt it was enough. Even with the cold baths afterwards I couldn't take anymore sauna in the summer More

Place looks aglow. No sign of the seemingly perpetual renovations. Great staff, and even though it was busy, it wasn't crowded.

Only flaw was that the showers In the locker rooms were cold when we were leaving. Not good for a place that specializes in hot water and air.

A truly surreal experience. The layout is stunning and the stream rooms and different pools are very relaxing and enjoyable. The customer service was quite rude when we asked a few questions (it was our first time there) with the exception of the restaurant. I wrote an e-mail to the manager providing feedback and nothing ever came of it.

Management and staff seem to have a blatant lack of common sense, lack of empathy, and disregard for client safety.

I ve been to Spa Nordik 10 or so times, and generally it s a pleasant experience. Coming here has been mine and my mother s annual tradition for her birthday (in Dec).

However, yesterday s visit has soured my feelings about the place and I m not sure when and if l will be back.

My mother and I spent the day there for her birthday yesterday. It was very busy and there was a Extreme Cold Warning in effect and about -22 plus windchill.

We were warm enough until my mother s rented robe soaked through after some time in and out of the pools & saunas.

We asked 3 staff members over the span of 2 hours if they could exchange it, but they all said policy was not to exchange wet robes for dry ones and we should sit in a dry sauna to dry it. We tried to dry it in dry saunas, but you can t sit in a sauna forever.

Eventually I went to the front desk and asked them to exchange it. Again, was told they do not exchange robes for dry ones and the staff member would speak with a manager. She eventually came back with a dry robe (no manager came out to talk to me) but she made sure to tell me that next time they will not exchange it.

First of all, when we rented the robe, we were not told about this policy of no exchanges on the robe. The policy is not one I expected given that you can exchange towels as many times as you like.

Secondly, the management needs to have common sense - in weather where it is DANGEROUS to be outside in wet clothes they need to relax their rules. It s a matter of safety.

I am genuinely concerned that my mother might get sick after the experience yesterday and we were saying as we were leaving that we will be spending her birthday someplace else next year.

I do want to say that our servers at the restaurants were outstanding and really went above and beyond, and so I m adding a star for that.

However, overall a disappointing experience and we were left feeling that the Nordik doesn t care about their clients well-being and safety.

The spa experience was lovely, once we figured out where to go and how things sort of worked. Customer service was mediocre at best, no one explained how the locker system works and where we could go.

The food was terrible. My partner ordered the Scallops, they were charred over cooked and rubbery at best. With a price tag of 25$ not worth it.

I ordered the Nordic Burger, and it was morbid. With a price tag of 22$ I expect a fresh patty. Instead I was served a frozen overcooked patty, that tasted like a burger you could buy from a frozen section at a grocery store.

My advice, eat before you go. Or eat after. Just enjoy the spa, don t indulge in the joke that is dining there.

Problem with billing and customer service! They gave me wrong information on the spot before leaving and I have been trying to resolve the issue for 1 week and no return call and no reply to my email. I'm still trying to reach them by phone ... I just joined them and they are trying to resolve the billing problem, TO BE CONTINUED ...

The spa is very clean and the staff are very friendly. I really enjoyed the infusion ritual they do every hour. Lots of spaces so despite the traffic we didn't feel like we were crowded. Just a bit of a shame that the customers do not respect the silence indications. Especially since there are a lot of places where chatting is allowed.

I visited Nordik Spa a few years ago and had an enjoyable time with my friends. It was busy towards the end of the day; but, we managed to complete all the rooms and pools in the morning. We spent the latter half of the day in the hot tub and had a nice meal. It was the highlight to my visit in Ottawa

LOVE this place! I spent an entire Saturday with my girlfriends at Nordik Spa going into the water, into the sauna, napping/reading in front of the fireplace, eating, drinking, repeat. This place is magical. It is so close to the city but once you step foot into Nordik, you feel zen right away. This place is so peaceful and truly a getaway from reality and the busy city.

First experience was out of this world. I really tought i found the best spa! Second experience, in febuary, late at night, was not so great. My boyfriend was given the same locker as someone else, nobody did anything about it. They just cancelled the other guy key and gave a second key to my boyfriend. So we were still able to access the other guy stuff... That made us wondered if our stuff was safe... Then a group of people were being really really loud in the silent section and staff were not doing anything about it, etc...

We had a great time. We went early knowing that it's a popular spot. We brought our own robs and flip flops and it wasn't an issue. We felt at home exploring the options. The staff was kind and helpful.

A world-class experience! Like nothing I could ever have imagined. You HAVE to try this. Outdoor hot pools, saunas, fireplaces, massages, an entire day's worth of serenity and peaceful meditation that will center you and prepare you for whatever the world has to throw at you. Restaurants serve healthy food that is well-prepared and beautifully presented.

Like Disneyland, but for spas.

Lovely in the summer I'm sure, but in the winter it's an incomparable experience. Imagine yourself and the woman you love languishing in a pool of hot water as gigantic snowflakes fall through the layers of mist. Maybe spend a little time reading a book in front of a blazing fire. A sauna. Maybe a quick dip in one of the cold pools if you're brave, to close off your pores afterward. Rinse and repeat until done.

We went yesterday for the baths, a supper and massages in nature as a couple.
What can I say except that it was an unforgettable experience!
The experience of the baths and saunas was very pleasant, we were warned of the construction which was still in progress (in December we were unfortunately disturbed by the works) but this time no worker in sight. So we had a real relaxing experience :)
All the employees were real pearls, it was the young lady near the locker room who offered us dry towels, the masseuses who did an outstanding job, the waiter who made our dining experience most pleasant, even going to the nice employee who was finishing her shift and did everything to help us withdraw money to give a well-deserved tip to our masseuses.
Thank you to everyone at Nordik Spa, we celebrated my spouse's birthday with the greatest success!
By the way, I'm not a vegetarian (I'm a big meat eater) but I couldn't resist trying the vegan dish, A B SO L U M E N T. Delicious !!!!!!! The best zucchinnis I have ever eaten! Someone to be congratulated! And the dessert! A 5 star cheesecake!

Thank you!!!! :) you make a great team!

Absolutely amazing experience. Initially was thinking we would only be there for maybe 3-4 hours, but we ended up leaving after 7 hours and only because we were late for a reservation. Wish I could go every weekend.

Only downside was the extremely long line to get in, getting assigned lockers that were already in use(third time's the charm), and staff didn't enforce the rules in the silent zone. There were many people talking at full volume in the silent zone, but to be fair it isn't always easy to notice when you move from one zone to another. It was also an extremely busy day due to it being a long weekend.

We, my husband and I, have been regulars at Spa Chelsea for about 6 years! We always had a great experience until the last time. We started with a massage, my husband had a massage therapist with her hands full of eczema so all the way it felt like she was massaging him with a sandpaper, she coughed all the way and was spending her time in apologized. He came out of there more stressed than before. In addition, we had booked by phone for a duo massage only to be told on site that there was no longer a duo room available ... quite frustrating!

In addition, we are used to snacking on the loundge around the fires with blankets which are always available. The last time we were there the prices went up, the dishes shrunk, no fires on and no blankets available. It was 2 degrees outside ....

In short, this spa is our big romantic getaway once a year! Very disappointed at the price it costs!

Great place to relax. It's almost getting too big and has become the walmart of relaxation. I recommend going durring the week rather than a holiday or during weekends if u really need a break. The staff are good and the place is always well kept. The restaurant is good and they have a nice selection of drinks. It's always a good time and you will come out feeling better

We came here on a Saturday, probably a bad idea..place was completely packed. Was almost impossible to walk around without bumping into someone. Many of the areas like the hot stone beds and hammocks were always occupied. Probably better to come during the week. Other than that it was a nice getaway.

This place is amazing. It is so relaxing and tranquil. I love coming here ... When I do I leave refreshed.

However, it has a small overcrowding problem so I'm hoping that this 1-star review the discourages you from coming so there will be more room for me.

I have been to this spa a number of times and will continue to go! Last time I was there, I was walking with a cane due to a recent surgery. My locker key wristband didn't work so I went to a staff member and she quickly and kindly reprogrammed the wristband. She saw that I was hobbly so she gave me the locker closest to the door so i wouldn't have to walk as much. Small gestures like that mean a lot and I have always been treated well by the staff at this establishment.

Had a lovely experience here with my boyfriend while staying the night in Ottawa before an Ottawa senators game. Very relaxing we received a swedish couples message that felt amazing! We also added to our package that we could use the outdoor pools, and the floating salt bath. Both extra but very worth it and would recommend! Worth a visit!! I will be back next time I'm in Ottawa.

Very upset with this place, it really seems like they do not value their customers.

I had called today (Oct 16th) because I was concerned that I may be held up at the Quebec Ontario boarder. From a prerecorded message I became aware that all of the spa, except massage was closed for my appointment on Oct 17th. I then tried to cancel the massages I had booked because it is a long trip to make for a massage only and they said they could only give me 50% refund of a Credit Only, zero money back! This is because I was trying to cancel the massage within 72 hours meanwhile they had given me approximately 26 hours notice that most of the spa is closed.

I am now stuck with the task of canceling my girlfriends birthday plans the day before, with zero compensation from Nordik.

Absolutely gorgeous place on the side of a mountain. It is large and gorgeous. Most of what you doing is outside. They have lots of pools hot and cold. Saunas. Cooling off stations. Not wheelchair accessible because you have to climb up several stairs. But the rivers running down the sides of the stairs are absolutely spectacular. Lit beautifully. The staff are incredible. Outside that got like these little Cabanas with this gorgeous fireplace in the Middle where you can just sit and relax and there are heat lamps over top of you. The experience is second to none. Priced amazing. They just have so many things. If you get a chance to go I would recommend you treat yourself and have one hell of a day. :)
And most days are even open to midnight. So it doesn't have to be a day thing. Spectacular.

I wish I could leave 0 stars. I used to love this place and look forward to making the 6 hour drive to come here. My fiance and I had a horrible experience our last visit, and it will definitely be our last. We were treated horribly by their employees and were downright insulted by them. Please do not come here if you would like to celebrate a special occasion, as it truly ruined ours.

Worth returning to.

Worth returning to.
During the holidays there is a long line up, but it moves quickly and the staff is courteous and efficient. I have not yet had a treatment here, but enjoy the steam rooms and hot pools.
Definitely remember to bring your own (non-white) bathrobe, sandals, and water bottle. Or, if using the spa bathrobe, bring a bright ribbon to tie a bow around the hanging loop. Otherwise bathrobes easily are mistaken for the dozens surrounding it, and don't leave anything in the pockets (like keys or glasses), as those trying to quickly warm up will grab any of the identical bathrobes without checking the pockets.
Just a note, they now require a $100 pre-authorization on your wristband if you plan on making any in-spa purchases (like food, drinks, or gifts). Also, the locker number washes off within 10 minutes, so memorize that quickly. I preferred their previous wristbands with an imprinted locker number.

Other than all that, I enjoy the experience. I love the Russian Banya, the Mongolian Yurt, and the outdoor pools (although find it a bit frustrating that during the holidays a "social atmosphere" policy means that the quiet pools are no longer quiet.).

Definitely plan on a minimum of 4 hours, but 8 is preferable. This time we only had coffee and croissants (they were delicious!). Last visit we had lunch, which was a delicious salad and baked salmon. Yum!

We drove in from out of town to visit this spa and while we had a good time, I was a little frustrated by the distance to walk from pool to pool. Many pools were closed for maintenance and I couldn't perform the usual hot/cold circuit that I love. I found the prices to be on the higher side, and I'm sure that's because there is a lot of services offered, but I find many of them gimmicky and was only interested in the pools, steam room, and massage. I would go to Collingwood next time because it's closer and cheaper.

Should have read the reviews first. I went to Nordic a year ago with industry professionals and was amazed. After shelling out $800 for two massages/spa package with robes, my girlfriend had her robe stolen (which was marked) with her stuff thrown over the floor. No effort to go through and recover her prescription glasses. Had I not been there she would not have been capable of driving home. The place is over populated and the customer service is horrible. Once they have your money they will make up any excuse to keep you happy. Spoiler alert: customer service is non existant, if you have an issue nothing gets done. Stop expanding and fix your staff. Managers need to improve in hospitality.

Lived nearby for so many years and never actually went.

I have to say it was a wonderful experience and I will for sure book another visit.

Even just to go for the pools and saunas is amazing and restorative.

I had lunch there, and the payment system is smooth and painless. They really make things convenient and relaxing all around.

This place.

This place.
This place is a piece of heaven on Earth. The setup is beautifully encased within the natural landscape of the area.
A soothing music can be heard all around -even from the parking lot, which is nice.
There are 3 different zones based on the amount of voices you want to hear - from zero to fiesta!
All of them are marvellous in their own way. You can either relax in a warm, silent pool, with a little waterfall adding the zen effect, or chill in a gigantic hot jacuzzi with your friends while drinking a cocktail at sunset.

You shouldn't be wondering if this place is ok for you, you should try to understand how could it possibly be that you've not been there yet.

Beware: a minimum of 100$ is recommended per person to fully enjoy the place. With that amount you get the entrance, you can have a bathrobe for the day, and around 40 bucks to spend in food & drinks.
There'a restaurant in the structure, and two bars you can chill in. Great service there.

Why are you still reading this? Just go there already!
You won't regret that. And take your soulmate with you if you have one.
I mean it.
Do it, and thank me later
P.s. no photos allowed once inside the premises as mobile phone are to be left in the lockers - they don't want your experience to be spoiled by Instagram posts etc
