We are so lucky to have this natural gem in our backyard. Except for the food which is sub-pair compared to the establishment, the price is at fair value. Love they have added more talking areas, as lately I haven't been shhhed with my girlfriends.

I have been here twice. The first time was last winter. We arrived at 1:00 pm, and started waiting inside. This time I arrived there around 10:00 am. The line was about 30 metres long outside. Even though it was not snowing and the temperature was above zero. We still felt so cold after almost 40min wait outside. This is not good. I believe Nordik knows what volume of people they should expect on a winter weekend. At least they can install a temporary tent or something to cover people who wait outside. I don't blame the staff's attitude. After I finally got indoor. I realized there was still at least 50 ppl waiting inside. Around 6 staff were checking in ppl at the same time. I believe they are doing the best to let people in. After checked in, I do enjoy my time spending there. The spa area was not fully packed. You can still enjoy and relax yourself here and there. The food inside is decent and not over priced. All in all, I might still get back here, but I won't be there in the early morning. I do hope Nordik can think about a way to comfort people who have to wait outside for 40-50 minutes.

Fantastic experience, going to certainly come back!

Knocked down a star because you must bring your own sandals and I hadn't known. Feet were painfully freezing as I navigated around the spa areas.

I love that they insist on people's silence.

To start with a positive, the quality of the Swedish massage itself was nice. But to say that it is "in nature" is a gross overstatement - we were in a small wooden room that didn't feel the slightest bit "in nature". And for the price of the massage, I expected a good-quality massage table with heated blankets, not a narrow bed with a thin mattress.

I understand that this is a busy place, but when I booked our massages, I was told that if we came early, the lineup to get into the baths would be approximately a half hour. We actually waited more than an hour and a half, so we had virtually no time to use the baths before our massage. I recognize that the volume of people cannot be accurately predicted, but given how long Nordik has been in business, I'm confident that a slightly more accurate estimate could have been provided.

With regards to the spa itself, the hot pools were not hot, there was little to no room in the relaxation areas (we couldn't even sit together), and the silent areas were not silent - a combination of a lack of enforcement on the part of staff, a slamming yurt door, and the horrible new age music that was being piped in.

This place came so highly recommended, and it was such a disappointing - and insanely expensive - experience. I left far more tense than I was when I arrived. I would recommend Scandinave over this in a heartbeat.

A total waste of money.

If you haven't been to a destination like this before, as I hadn't, Spa Nordik can be a little overwhelming at first. There are a lot of flavours of sauna and warm and cool pools to try out. The staff, however, are friendly and understanding and happy to offer suggestions and directions. The location is lovely and everything well-maintained and professional. Well worth renting a car for the day to visit if you're in Ottawa. Definitely take a whole day, any time of year.

I love this place so relaxing and well worth the trip! When coming here during peak hours be prepared to wait bring a book and enjoy the nature outside or visit a local cafe for some time to chat. Wait times to get in can be long. Enjoy your visit!

I bought a gift card for Nordik Spa-Nature for my partner for Christmas, but didn't end up going to the spa until July.

We immediately fell in love with the thermal experience and after a half day of enjoying the pools, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms, we are eager to return!

Love it

Staff could have been more hospitable. Told them multiple times when I checked in it was my first time. No one cared enough to even let me know robes could be swapped when water-logged. Was looking forward to my day for a long time. Was rather disappointed.

After visiting the Nordik Spa-Nature for my third time, I thought I should definitely write a review. I've been to many of these 'types' in Europe but mainly Baden-Baden. The Nordic spa I find outrageously priced, considering the amount of steps one must climb lol Caution: not elderly friendly. Not to mention the 'extra' cost to float in the basement, yes more steps. Where spring cleaning was amiss with 'huge' cobwebs above our heads as we 'floated'. I've always enjoyed the salt scrub but that was closed for maintenance with no discount offered on the entrance fee. It's hard not to smile, sitting with your friends in the pools, sun beating down, as you sip on your drink but this last visit my mind kept going to the, 'what a rip off'.

Beautiful spot with amazing amenities just so unfortunate that it has turned into an amusement park. There is no longer a time you can go where you don't feel like you are crammed in like sardines. I guess it's good for them but we will not be back. (Went on a Tuesday)

Fabulous getaway - such beautiful facilities nestled in amazing scenery! The addition of the social area is wonderful for more chatty visits, but it's nice that whisper or silent areas are still available. Food from the restaurant was delicious. The Aufguss Ritual in the Finlandia Sauna is worth catching, if you can stand high temperatures and aromatic oils.

Beautiful place to spend the evening with the girls. The price has gone up in recent years but they are really investing in their property and it gets more beautiful all the time. Service is generally good. Very relaxing!

The pools, tubs, huts and saunas are wonderful, but the food is ok and there are no vegan or gluten free options and those items on the menu that would be considered vegan are extremely bland. The selection of wine is not the best and over priced for the quality. Service is very slow and this past weekend there were no robes available when we checked in after waiting over two hours to get in. Later in the evening (8pm) there were no clean dry towel to dry ourselves off with dressing to leave. Since there is nothing else like it, I will go again but I'll pack my own food, to be and towels.

I ve been going to Nordic for years and have to say it seen better days. My last experience was not pleasant at all, starting with drinks being ridiculously overpriced (for instance, $14+tax+tips for a fruity drink that barely has any alcohol in it), oh and also now they have this dumb policy that makes no sense which basically only allows 1 drink in one hands. So if you went to grab yourself and a friend some drinks they ll basically tell you that the other person has to come and get their own drink.. that was so annoying and very unnecessary! Food is very basic, went down in portion size and up in price compare to what it was last winter and years before, they downsized the menu and now there s barely any good options, oh and did I mention that it s also very overpriced? Staff generally are very rude at this place and acting very entitled but this last time we had a server that was just beyond rude it actually blew my mind and bothered me till the end of the day which really shouldn t be happening considering how much I m paying for what s supposed to be a distressing and relaxing experience. My massage was also not the best and for sure was not worth $132. And any staff interaction prompts you to leave tips, they actually are extremely pushy about it here which is also annoying because as I mentioned, staff are very rude and not friendly which doesn t exactly make you want to leave any tips at all.
Don t get me wrong, this is still a great place to go to, very beautiful and relaxing, but I wouldn t recommend wasting your money on food and drinks. Massage - hit or miss, but also very overpriced.

I love this place and I go every year. But their new line system doesn't say anywhere on their website that you need to make reservations to get in, even when your there, you need reservations. So I wasted an hour for nothing for this new line system and it wasnt a busy day.. they are not very organized . So if you are planning to go, make reservations!! For the pool! and they need a new hostess at the restaurant, the guy was very rude

It is absolutely a stunning place! Very clean, the staff is very nice and I had one of the best massage treatments ever. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is because the food portions are extremely small and very expensive. Other than that, I would highly recommend this experience.

Loved it. My third time going. The only thing is that it was really cold out, so when you're getting out of the water, you are feeling the cold even more. I wish after I took my shower , that there was body lotion to moisture your skin, after a day of going to saunas and bsths

A day at Nordik Spa is never a disappointment! I go a few times a year and always leave relaxed. They have gone through great updates that allow for spacing, hand sanitizer everywhere, as well as constantly having their masked & gloved employees constantly cleaning up.
Their only downfall is how expensive their food and drinks are for the amount you get. Other than the expense, you can feel comfortable choosing to spend your day at Nordik Spa!

Need more intervention when loud talkers are chatting away in the quiet zone. Also .. too many people texting and taking pictures when there are clearly signs everyone that no cell phones are allowed. Staff seems overwhelmed. I feel for them.

Horrible time. Most of the sauna was close, then why charge full price. There were also alot of rocks in the pool
and it stab my foot. Dirty pool glass, the one infront of the restaurant, it had a layer of oil on the glass, you can see it if you look, I touch it too it is oil. The robe you force me to rent have a huge yellow stain on it. The washroom shower room light been pull down so it's dark. No one clean the floor, I been in the locker room a few times the pille of towels is still on the floor. So horrible the worker tell me to follow the arrow on the floor, but they didn't enforce it ,so I keep crossing pass with other ppl.
Not going back until they change.

Beautiful spa. I first visited last year, and honestly my second visit was a little disappointing. There was zero enforcement of the silence and whispering zones. There were numerous groups of teens and college students who were treating the place like a beach and wandering around talking very loudly. I paid for the Kalka experience (underground salt pool) which was interesting but sadly not worth it, again due to a small number of individuals. You are supposed to float silently in this pool which should allow you to stay in the exact same spot and not worry about bumping into anybody. Unfortunately there were people who would plunk down or swim in the pool which caused the water to move everybody else towards each other. It was hard to relax with someone bumping into you every few minutes. Lastly, the policy to load $100 onto your wrist band to be able to buy from the restaurant is just an inconvenient money trap. Sure they say that the money you don't use is released that night, but why should I have to charge it in the first place when all I want is a $20 meal?

Went here for the first time last week. Overall,I had a really good and relaxing experience. It was hailing/snowing quite a bit that day but that made it better for me personally. The sauna and pools are great. Couple downfalls: someone ended up taking my friends robe, and they don t give you another one unless you pay again. I understand the concept behind this, but it s quite unfair for the person who paid for the robe and has to do without one as someone else took it accidentally. Second, the food is at most ok for what you pay. It s probably better to bring your own robe, that way it s easier to identify it. Other than that, staff was friendly. Everything was clean.

It was super expensive for a foreigner who lives in a country where spa and sauna facilites are common and cheap. Sandals are mandatory, but if you are lucky you may find one at the spa. They provide unlimited amount of towels, but if you want shower gown, you need to pay to borrow it. There were various hot springs and sauna, but I don't think it's worth the price.

Absolutely do not come in the winter. People spend hours at a time sitting in the heated rooms leaving no space for others to sit. One couple sat on the same chairs for 3 hours. Also the grounds were ridiculously icy. We left after the eldest of our group slipped a little and was really worried about falling. Do not recommend in the winter, lovely in the summer.

I have been going to Le Nordik for about 10 years, and although I used to love it, unfortunately I find the experience has gone very much downhill over the years. I went there yesterday and was very disappointed. We had to stand in line on the steps for 20 minutes before we we even spoke to a staff member. The man we spoke to put us on a waitlist, which he estimated to be 30 minutes, and told us to go to the coffee shop to wait. When we got to the coffee shop, there were 10 people in line and the line was barely moving. Not only that, but there was no where to sit inside, so we went out to the patio. The only place we could find to sit had dirty dishes piled on the table. We waited there for over 1 hour before they finally texted us to come back downstairs. Then we had to get back in line again for another 20 minutes just to get registered! Unfortunately all the time spent waiting to get in did not leave us much time for the nordic baths, but we tried to make the best of it. They have made some nice additions, like the exfoliation lodge. Everything was very crowded though and we were bumping into people everywhere we went. It's really a shame that they have not been able to adjust to the demand better than this. Why don't they allow people to register online, then stop allowing registrations when it reaches capacity on any given day? That way people could register in advance! This would be so much better than the gong show they are putting people through now. I am very disappointed with how they are trying to manage registration these days. This is a very poor customer service. I won't be back.

A wide variety of pool types and special seating areas! The whole place is just very very well done. Food is pretty expensive but it's always fantastic. I definitely recommend the salt pools, I think they're a new feature. They recently added a huge expansion and renovation to the place to make it even better.

Superb spa built on a mountainside, peaceful and welcoming. The staff is very courteous and offers impeccable service. Several facilities available, so that the wait is short or nonexistent. In short, a wonderful experience!

I'm not a fan or spas, my wife dragged me. It was boring, crowded, and over priced! and the food is terrible and expensive. I guess if you like getting really hot then getting really cold and then walking for 30 mins realizing all of the relaxation spots are filled this place may be for you. It's not for me

I requested a couple's massage and specifically called in to request the massage to be in a couple's room. I traveled from Toronto to Nordik for this special weekend. Not only did I not receive the couple's room, we were put in two different buildings. I inquired with the supervisor on site and she said there was nothing she can do (Juliet) while she was talking to me all the attendants and customers were staring at us as if we did something wrong. I was so embarrassed. Juliet did nothing to compensate for their mistake, did not even offer a free lunch. Such a stressful situation was created rather than it being relaxing. Once the massage was finished, we tried to relax in the sauna but the fire alarm went off and it would not stop. We got so fed up we left. It was nothing close to being relaxing. We spent 370.00 and were there for 1.5 hours. Nothing about the experience was relaxing.

It is a pearl of the National Capital region and a place of International magnitude. Located literally 20 minutes from Downtown Ottawa. I prefer to visit it in the Winter: it is open even on New Year's Eve! (that is a hint for couples). You better plan an entire day for a visit, however 1-2 hours will provide you enough relief as well. Check their website to learn about their facilities and the best approach to enjoy them. One day at Nordik will replace you a week of vacation if done properly! Their schedule is very accommodating, however check it prior your visit.
No kids. No loud talks. Some areas - no talks at all.

A few tips to ensure successful fun time
1. bring your own slippers (mark them with a permanent marker to avoid confusion)
2. If you wear glasses, switch to contact lenses for the visit
3. Bring a color rubber band to put on your towel (provided)
4. review their website prior your visit.
5. to avoid any possibility of destroying your fun, lock all your possessions in a locker including your shoes. Taking this into account, don't bring anything valuable (nor lock it in your car), lockers are small (no locks needed - they have electronic locks) - take a bare minimum of things you need to the SPA.

What a disappointment! There are so many people, we just wait! No place to relax because we were strung like sardines everywhere! Same story for meals, full everywhere.
They allow too many people to the site's capacity so that we can to relax, after all, we go to the spa to relax, well forget it at Nordik! It is clear that their priority is not to have relaxed and satisfied customers. It is rather to bring the cash in the cash as possible! The most expensive spa ($ 71 entry, $ 12 Bathrobe, $ 45 floating bath) and we made the most disappointing! We told you that for $ 45 you can go to the bathroom all day floating limitless! Ah ah ah ah! Can the world that there is not when you want, that's for sure!

Review your maximum input capacity, I took you in, it borders on the ridiculous!

Great experience. Visited for a second time and it's improved. The food is excellent and the staff are all over the place. There is a pool in the far back that you don't have to be silent at. The majority of the place you can't talk. The staff are all around with signs saying silence. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. We had the beef brisket, yum. Please like this review and some pictures. Thanks.

Amazing place
The hubby and I love to take some us time and relax at the Nordik Spa. Great atmosphere, lots to see or experience. Always love going back. My recommendation for the Nordik would be to make handicap parking more easy to find and understand...is it a drop off area or a parking...it's not clear?

TLDR: Great experience while there, but locker theft occurred and my attempts to contact the spa have been ignored.

My parents and I spent the day at Nordik Chelsea on June 17, 2019. We enjoyed the amenities, had massages and body treatments, and overall had an enjoyable time. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean.

Unfortunately, after leaving, my father noticed that the cash from his wallet, kept in his locker the entire day, was stolen. This in itself was frustrating, as the cash amount was not small, and we understood a locker to be secure via their electronic wristband system (staff assigns guests a locker and wristband upon arrival).

More disappointing than the theft itself, has been Nordik's absolute silence regarding the issue. The next day, on June 18, I emailed them with details of the issue, asking to be contacted to discuss. At no point in my email did I ask for money, and I actually took care to lay out detailed steps they could take to both identify the culprit (guest or employee) and implement improvements to their electronic wristband system. Their inbox sent me an automatic reply confirming a response to all inquiries within 24 hours --- I never received a response.

More than a week later, on June 27, I called the spa. I described my concerns, forwarded my previously sent email to that specific employee, they confirmed receipt of that email, and said that a manager would contact me in 1-2 days. That too never happened.

I acknowledge that theft can only be mitigated so much by a business, but refusing to address, or at least acknowledge, such concerns, sends a message to the customer that theft is not taken seriously and its occurrence is tolerated. It also sends a message to culprits that they can continue to get away with it. Both are poor messages for a business to be responsible for.

This was my fourth time at Nordik and honestly, this place has gotten a bit worse each time. Don't even bother on weekends anymore. Nothing too crazy, but the whole new mandatory reservation thing seems really useless. I reserved for a 5pm arrival, got scanned in by two employees outside before entering the spa which was fine, but then waited close to 25 minutes in line inside only to be asked "do you have a reservation". What's the point if there's no fast track whatsoever, are they actually going to turn someone away if they got past the people outside?

The kicker was I was handed 3 towels and told "we are out of robes". Do you have a sewing machine for me to turn 3 towels into a robe? I get it's a kind gesture, but again, useless. Autumn is an insanely busy time of year for them, but I feel like it comes as a surprise every year. Nordik, you know you're busy in Autumn, you can prepare way better for this.

Omg, best day ever!! I am so excited about this place. We booked a 1 hr massage last min so we didnt get a choice of who worked on us but the men that did made us feel very comfortable and did a good job. The food was phenomenal! The pools and saunas were great and the service was top notch. The place was clean and beautiful even in nov . We didnt know what to expect but was one of the best experiences we've ever had. We already planning to return!!

My boyfriend and I go to Nordik spa about once a month or once every 2 months. Normally we have an amazing time, but yesterday was just not a great experience at all. We got there to the spa around 7:55PM. There was only 1 person working in the accueil, and he was very chatty with the people in line ahead of us so we didn't actually get served until about 8:15PM. Which considering the spa closes at 11PM and we just waited in a lineup 20 minutes (with a reservation that is obligatory), they should have had another staff member on and there was lots of staff that could have been helping. The guy at the accueil then proceeded to tell us the infinity pool was closed and that whole section and then asked us if we still wanted to go in (after we had already been waiting 20 minutes in line). No discount, no compensation, not even a free drink was offered, but we accepted. Then my key didn't work in the locker room so I had to come back out to get it taken care of which took another 10 minutes (we now lost over 30 minutes that we could have spent in the pools). All to say I was very VERY disappointed with this experience. We come here all the time and it is not cheap and just felt like everything should have gone way smoother.

Very beautiful space, and lots of different saunas and treatments. Downside though, I think they should limit the number of people they let come through an hour. It was so busy.

The towels and rental bath robe got soaked through so fast and it was kind of chilly out. Could've used a blanket or something when sitting outside of the water. Otherwise very nice experience

Cant say enough of this place!!

Cant say enough of this place!!
I went in summer time and i think its the best time to go as you can use all the pools, take a nap on the beds, and enjoy outdoor bar/food stations.
I didn t try banya or the salt cave - I m sure they are as great as other services, but my most favourite one was Finnish rituale- its a must try so don t miss it - its every hour !
The food is also very tasty.

Long wait times. Crowded. Noisy (even though some areas say no talking, they do not enforce it). Expensive $$$ (entrance fee, food, drinks all way more expensive than it use to be). People using their phones in the baths. If you're looking for true relaxation, well this isn't the place to be (sadly anymore). If you're looking for a day club atmosphere - music, drinking, and talking - than Nordik fits the bill.

This was my very first time at Nordic Spa and I absolutely loved it. It was such a relaxing, streamlined experience. I've never really been into the whole "Spa Day" with the girls, but I came here with my mom and my sister and we happily cruised through all of the different pools, sauna's and also treated ourselves to a massage which was very relaxing. My only major complaint is that the whole Nordic Spa experience is VERY inaccessible to anyone with any mobility issues. My mom walks perfectly well on her own and goes to the gym regularly, but she easily gets out of breath having to walk up so many flights of stairs - and she is not as stable walking on some of the natural flagstone-type surfaces between pools and other relaxation zones
If you require any mobility device at all, stay far away. It's actually quite sad because I think that the treatments and sort of relaxation experience on offer at Nordic Spa would be of benefit to anyone with mobility issues.

That being said,I would definitely come back. I did have such a nice time and truly enjoyed the atmosphere.

First experience here was amazing. The only thing I wish was that we were given more detailed information about how the spa works (hot, cold, relaxation cycle) and where to find everything. Instead it felt like we were being rushed through when we entered as they were very busy. Customer service was good but perhaps a little more time should be spent on welcoming you and finding out if it is your first time and providing enough information for guest to really maximize their experience. Also more maps or even a small pamphlet with a map would have been useful for finding our way around. Otherwise, was an amazing experience and I will definitely be going back soon.
