Amazing experience! I took my girlfriend there for her birthday / valentines day, and it was a really great experience. You can easily see the effort that goes into the maintenance of the facilities. While it may be a bit pricey, the thermal experience is quite cheap for what you get. If you're looking for a day to just unwind, catch up on reading or to treat your partner, amongst many other things, then this is the place to go!

I love it here.. but every time I go with my boyfriend, someone takes his robe once we get out of the sauna. We went a few days ago and that happened again. Instead of taking someone's used robe we went to get another one from front desk and the girl made a big deal about giving us another one. We asked to speak to a manager but instead she came back and just handed us a robe and said the manager said to. Isn't this place supposed to be all about hospitality?

Nice place, too bad that people do not respect the zones of silence. Personally, I did not find the hot water pools hot enough. In addition, the hot / cold / rest circuits are more difficult to perform with few cold pools. The rest areas are small and less comfortable than in other places.
Alcohol consumption permitted in the pools, not sure that it adds to the experience ... The Kalla experience is fabulous, to be redone.

Amazing!! this was our second time going but the first time at night and in the winter we went to celebrate our anniversary and the setting was perfect from the atmosphere to the music to the lights very relaxing very romantic a couple of drinks how to meal at the mezzo restaurant and left at around 10 p.m.!! all in all amazing experience the only downside is the fact that you cannot make reservations unless you book a massage so we have to wait about 80 minutes just to get in....
a little pricey as well but the atmosphere and the whole experience makes up for it.

The prices are right the service is impeccable and the quality of the environment is superb absolutely nothing to say about the maintenance, the prices for food are moderately high but you get what you pay for against the price of beverages are excessively high this is clearly not the place to have a drink.

Great setup needs more pools though. There was about 10 different sauna and steam rooms but only 2 heated pools were open including the infinity pool. Was really busy for a Thursday afternoon. Massage was good and relaxing.

Love this place. BUT for the love of god start seating people in the cafe instead of seating themselves. It s not a relaxing environment when people are running all over trying to find seats like vultures.

My first time at Nordik and it was so nice and relaxing, staff was friendly and accommodating. It was myself and two other friends, I would/have suggested this to many friends and family. Expect to spend a minimum of $60 and up because they have options for different packages. You also can put money on your bracelet to buy food and drinks but I believe they do have options to use debit and visa as well if needed just ask. Bring sandals, towels are provided but robes you must rent I don't remember the cost but I think it was $20 but you can ask to make sure, It's a nice cosy set up with lots of options I can't wait to return later in the new year! Great job Nordik!

Finally went to the spa for my first time and I am...

Finally went to the spa for my first time and I am thrilled that it was Nordik! Such an incredible experience.

When I first arrived, I had an idea in my head of what it was like based on the descriptions of others, which was basic and vague. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the variety of options to try out.

Upon arrival, I noticed the consistency in the music throughout the property, which is an amazing bonus for keeping a steady meditative flow.

When first seeing the cold water baths/waterfall, I was reminded of a talk I had heard just days before where the speaker was with a group of people at a similar resort and stated to not try only what you know you're comfortable with, but try everything that's available to you and maybe you'll be surprised by your new comfort levels. So I made sure to check out every single option available to me.

I would like to note there were only a few details that were less than ideal but they were not the fault of the spa. In one of the silent 'spas' we were in, there came a couple of friends who spoke the entire time and a couple with very loud PDA.
Toward the end of our visit when we exited one of the steam rooms, someone had taken our towels. We quickly walked to the closest desk to get new towels, which was great that there was a stack available. In the change rooms, most of the boots were left under the benches to keep the lockers clean and my socks were wet so I had left them hanging inside my boots to dry, when I came back, one had been removed and taken so I left with only one sock.
Those are issues that are only due to the sort of people around and there's no way to tell who will be entering when signing people in. The best the spa can do is hope people follow the suggestions and reinforce.

I left feeling absolutely refreshed, energized, and ready for a new ... Everything. I hope to make it a regular part of my routine with my partner moving forward. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Typical Quebec, worst service possible. We booked a couples massage for our anniversary and they messed up the reservation.
No apology or compensation, just too bad. You pay extra for everything, no robes or sandals. It's too bad because it's beautiful, but bad service at a spa just ruins the entire experience.

***Drunken encounters increasing. I really enjoyed the experience but there seems to be more outside factors that tarnish it. This ultimately depreciates the value attributed to the venue. As a result, the price doesn t feel justified anymore. The average Canadian can only afford so many spa days in a year. For the price paid (say about 400$ for spa+meals for a couple), you d expect not to experience encounters with drunken rude users on site.

Beautiful setting. Lots of variety in spaces to use. Kalla likely wasn't worth the extra money. Massage was decent but nothing to write home about. Food and drink was pricey. Go for the waters. They are great.

Although the price has been going up over the past few years it is still a wonderfully relaxing way to spend a day. We took part in the aufgaus ritual in the Finlandia sauna for the first time and LOVED it. Don't let rain or even snow deter you. It is great to soak in a hot pool while rain or snow falls.

World class nature spa just outside the hustle and bustle of Ottawa/Gatineau. Always an amazing time. Be still and peaceful in the whispering area or get chatty and social in the infinity pool with a beer/wine with friends. An incredibly special place.

an absolutely ethereal experience, this lovely spa located in a serene, off the beaten path location offers as many pool, sauna and relaxation experiences as you could want. a particular favourite was the salt water basin, that emulates the dead sea. another excellent stop is the Eucalyptus steam sauna, which will detoxify and do wonders for your body.

an overall lovely experience, Nordic is exemplary of what we've come to expect for a spa. we will be returning, to help soothe our weary souls.

Great thermal experience and excellent service. The view at the far end of the property with a beer is spectacular.

Also, forgot my glasses and they were great and mailed them to me in Montreal. Thanks a lot Valerie and Shane!

I would have liked some more places to lay down flat. There were a lot of Adirondack chairs which were very comfortable, but I had trouble finding some bed/cushion rooms like at some other spas. But still, one of the nicest spas I've ever been to.

Warning: Bring your own towel and robe, don't trust their towels. Got a skin infection from it, sent them pictures and made a complaint to the manager, she seems to think it's allergy to their cleaning detergents. I doubt that since I went there not long ago and I was fine that time. The symptoms also look exactly like "hot tub folliculitis". How do I know it was the towel and not the water? Because it only showed up on my calves and neck, calves where I had put their towel under my leg for the beach chair, and neck because I rested it across my shoulders on my neck. I didn't use the towel to dry at the end since my robe absorbed all the water. Other than that, the spa was great. Hot tub and steam room during the winter is a brilliant feeling. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Food at the restaurant was amazing. However I would think twice about going back again.

An amazing experience!! Very relaxing and enjoyed a day away. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The sauna's were amazing, the pools ahhhhh amazing!! Clean change areas and bathrooms, they take good care of their environment!!
We ate at the Cafe and were impressed! We ordered 3 different entrees and all 3 were delivered in a timely manner, soup was hot, salad was cold, each dish was delectable.
If you're looking for a day away...this is my suggestion.

What an amazing place! We came here while visiting family in Ottawa and this was the highlight of our trip. We got here right when it opened on the Saturday of a long weekend, expecting it to get busy. we were still able to enjoy most of the day without much crowds or wait times. The amenities are first class, the staff was very attentive, the food and drinks were great! We will be back now every time we visit!! Looking forward to enjoying this gem in the winter

Living in NYC, I have been extremely disappointed ...

Living in NYC, I have been extremely disappointed with the tacky, overcrowded spa options, like Spa Castle. Nordik definitely is a cut above. While it does seem like the Ikea of spas, my first visit was exquisite. Plentiful pools and saunas in a wooded setting are highly relaxing, but the real gem is the salt water floating pool. There's nothing quite like lying on your back in a body temperature pool, just floating in dim near silence... You could just fall asleep in the water with no worries.. They claim 30 minutes in the pool is equivalent to 5 hours of sleep, though that might be an exaggeration. Restaurant service is a bit off, and they really don't know to make cocktails, but these are minor drawbacks compared to the overall experience.

My husband and I had a less than desirable experie...

My husband and I had a less than desirable experience yesterday at your spa.

We had booked our massages weeks in advance for 7:15pm last night (January 3rd). However, we were uninformed that your max capacity is 1200 people, perhaps you should inform your guests of this before they book.
Because you had reached your max capacity of 1200 guests, there were absolutely no places to sit in any hot tub, pool, sauna, or out door sitting area, not to mention that there was a line for the restaurant as it was completely packed as well. There was no place for us to relax and enjoy our time there for the next 4 hours until our massage. We did not experience any of your facility except for walking the grounds in disbelief as this is deemed acceptable at your "spa".. We thought we were at a social gathering, a pool party. It was loud, busy and extremely uninviting.

The front desk was willing to help however we still left without $160.00.

We paid $414 arriving to your spa. I put $100 on my bracelet. That is over $500 we were willing to spend for your services. As a guest who is paying for additional services, our business should be favoured over guests paying $70 for the thermal experience only.

I greatly appreciated the help of the front desk, however I was expecting a full refund - to be refunded onto our debit or put on a gift card for us to come back another day. However, we were only refunded $260 of the $414 because, as the manager mentioned to me, "we can't refund both the baths and massages."

My biggest concern was the massage therapists, as I work alongside massage therapists myself. I know they ultimately need to get paid. I thought it would be a given for us to recieve a refund on the baths.

For us to not recieve a refund for this does not make sense. We could not make use of ANY of your facility because there were frankly too many people!

The manager understood my concern and gave us a "2 for 1 Thermal experience." This is only valid Monday to Thursday. We both would have to take a day off of work in order to use this, losing more money, or come on a holiday and expect to share the facility with another 1200 people. Furthermore, we would still have to pay extra to come back.

I appreciate the help of the staff yesterday as I know they were only doing their job.

This was my husband's first experience at the Nordik. We live in Petawawa as he serves in the Military. It's a 3 hour drive for us to come to your spa just to have wasted $160 plus the time and the gas money to get there. We left more stressed than we arrived and were extremely dissapointed.

This experience will not only be affecting us, as we will be letting others know to reconsider before attending your facility.

I hope that you recognize how much of a problem your capacity size is, as it hinders the experience of every one involved, and I hope you will take into consideration of lowering your maximum capacity significantly.
Quantity should not be superior over quality.

Le Nordik is truly a wonderful place to experience...

Le Nordik is truly a wonderful place to experience! If you haven't been here yet (and are willing to pamper yourself for a day) - then I highly recommend doing so.

To fully enjoy your visit to the fullest however - I'd like to offer recommendations to make your stay that much more enjoyable, and possibly more affordable. (Especially for first timers and because hey why not save a little money if you can) These are also the reason I gave Le Nordik 4/5 stars.

1. Plan ahead. No really I mean it. If you know ahead of time the date, time, and what you are planning to do at the spa (massage, facials, etc) - then book things WAY in advance, and be prepared to get to the spa early. (Massages can be booked up 2 months in advance....)

Le Nordik is very popular, especially on weekends. Planning your trip on a weekday or during bad weather, may lessen your wait times and make it easier for you to get in. (You may still have to wait just to get in, but that way you will be prepared for it and hopefully it will lessen your stress.)

2. Bring a robe, water bottle, and flip flops with you. This will not only save you money (yay), but it will also help you to feel more comfortable. (especially if you are planning to go for lunch or to a massage, etc) You can also pre-load your bracelet with money to enjoy at the restaurant. I highly recommend doing this if you plan to dine at the restaurant at any time during your day.

3. People chat. Unfortunately some people will be disrespectful and will talk loudly. (I'm not sure if it's because they are unaware of the rules at the spa, or if they just really have no respect for the people around them.) Don't let this ruin your experience. There things you can do about it.

I have kindly asked the people in question - to please be respectful (which sometimes works), or I have asked the staff nicely to remind people to be respectful.

To those of you who are new - there are two areas of the spa. One that asks for silence and relaxation, and another half that allows you to talk and drink to your hearts content. Please be courteous to those around you. For some of us this is a once a year retreat... and we would like to enjoy it in peace. Thanks.

There are more finer details that I could go into, but I truly believe that you will know if this place is for you or not by going and experiencing it for yourself. Hopefully these tips were helpful and insightful to you, and as always happy spa day!

The spa prefers quantity over quality. Too many people, it is nice that is a well-know spa but when you go to a place like this is to enjoy and RELAX. In my humble opinion, limiting the number of visitors per day could enhance the quality of the spa.

Great place! The staff is very attentive and helpful. The restaurant server we had was amazing at her job and explained everything to us. I recommend going earlier in the day as it gets quite busy after about 12pm! The girls bathroom has hair dryers and hair straighteners which I think is awesome :)

Beautiful place, terrible service! The rudest service people at the desk both at the beginning and the end of the day. At the end of the day when i asked to have my debit card reimbursed for unused funds they refused, (made me stand and wait for 15 minutes as they didn't have enough cash to give) and then doled out $125 in five dollar bills. This place has gone WAY down hill. Doubtful I'll go back.

Great spa, I've been a couple times.

Great spa, I've been a couple times.

I was there January 24th 2018, the service was quick and friendly.

Couple things I noticed:

Men's change room floor is worren out and needs to be replaced.

Towards the end of the bench in the men's change room is a garbage can, if your locker is at the end then you either have to put your bag on the floor (full of salt and dirty snow from outside) or on the garbage can. - A solution to this would be to have people take there shoes off in the reception area and have them put on there flip-flops or sandals right away, so they don't track the dirt and salt from outside.

Men's change room shower heads, old and dated with little to no pressure, should also look into having a rainfall shower head instead.

The no cellphone policy is a great concept but in all reality doesn't work.

The no picture policy is a bad idea, I understand some people don't want their photo taken and want some privacy at a spa and that's fair. What I would like to see is an area for "selfies or a photo friendly pool where it's clearly marked.

People go to Nordik for an experience and want to capture their experience. Social media is a great tool for free advertising!

I had an amazing experience, and Nordik is wonderful! However, the ground outside is not heated like the other spas I've been to outside... It is absolutely freezing on your feet , should you choose to not wear footwear. Please DO NOT GO BARE FOOT HERE!!! Nordik makes enough money to have heated floors outdoors, I think it would just make it perfect!
