I travel extensively for work and have spent in excess of 100 nights in Marriott properties just this year alone(Titanium level member). So when we decided to plan a weekend birthday celebration for extended family it was myself that was tasked with finding accommodations. So naturally I went with the Marriott brand.
The front desk staff were welcoming and polite upon check in. The room(s) however...left plenty to be desired. Our original room # was 2108. I've literally had economy rooms that were twice the size but it was manageable. We quickly realized that the AC was not cooling properly and then we were moved to another room (1505).
We of course went straight to the thermostat to cool the room and find that the adjustment piece is missing (Pic). I immediately called the front desk and nobody answered so we said screw it and went out on the town. We stopped at the front upon our return to get some more towels when I was able to make them aware of the issues with the current room. To be fair however...He offered to try and find us another room and I declined. I was just done with it at this point.
But it gets better. When we returned for the night to settle in we found out that the TV doesn't work, the toilet is stopped up and bugs were flying around. At this point I was just done with it all and didn't even bother with making any more trips to the front desk or further attempting unanswered calls.
I'm a loyal Marriott customer because I've never had an encounter even close to this at any of their other properties and have always left with the feeling of complete satisfaction. I will continue to patronize the Marriott brand because I know this experience is an exception and not the rule. But with that being said, I cannot in good conscience recommend this property until major changes are made.

First thing first, I bought my room to Le Meridien through Priceline's "Express Deal". It was for a 4-star hotel in the business district for a rate that was ridiculously low considering that it was on 12/30 and so NYE was just the next day and this was also the Sugar Bowl weekend (Alabama vs. Clemson) so ALL the hotel rooms in town were pretty much booked up (or you can expect to pay at least $600/night for a 4-star and at least $150/night for a dumpster hotel).

When I arrived at this hotel, I had been on the road for about 12 hours because I was driving in from Miami. By the time I arrived here, it was already super late and so I pulled into hotel driveway. I asked the valet guy if they had self-park and was informed that they didn't. However, the valet guy then told us that there were plenty of parking lots by the hotel if we wanted to save some money on parking. And also, if we could find parking on the street, we wouldn't have to worry about paying for parking at all because street parking is free on weekends. Sweet! Lo and behold, I found street parking a couple of blocks away.

The check in process was a bit disappointing. When I approached the check in desk, there was nobody there. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait too long until somebody came out from behind the office to check us in. Her attitude was a little bit better than the staff at the Panama City Beach Hampton Inn, but still lacking hospitality. Remember, I had been on the road for 12 hours and I was super tired. A small talk and a smile would have helped, you know? But nope, not the case here. Look lady, I understand that you might have been tired from working the night shift, but come on! HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY!

Our room had a weird layout. As soon as you open the door, there's wall in front of that door. The bathroom is to your right and you literally have to close the door a little bit so you can go to the left side of the room. It made the room feel cramped even though it was your typical hotel room size.
The bathroom, however, was smaller compared to your typical hotel bathroom. There was no tub, just a walk-in shower. And the vanity area also felt really small. Oh well.

The mattresses were comfortable to sleep in. I had a pretty good night sleep. But I guess being tired from 12 hours on the road also helped me sleep well that night.

In the morning, I actually went and used the gym. The gym had plenty of cardio machines, but the weight machine/free weights were very limited. But good enough, I guess.

I also tried to go to the bar downstairs for breakfast because they were serving pastries but I stood by the bar for about five minutes and nobody seemed to want to serve me so I left. F those people.

Would I come back and stay here? Eh, why not? Especially for the rate that I paid compared to all the other hotels.
Also, this hotel really isn't all that far to the quarter. All these other people talking about 20 minutes walk to the quarter; it really doesn't.

It was hell!!! Forget the room being small or the bathroom being small, how would it feel when you are having a nice hot shower early in the morning and a huge cockroach flies on your face!!! Guess what thats what happened to me.. I was extremely furious and went to meet the hotel manager at 8 AM and I was i formed he/she was in a meeting and would get back to me soon, they didnt call me upto 12 noon. I caught the roach alive and presented to them and all they had to say was a sorry... I could feel lucky that i didnt slip in the bathroom to break any joint.. Get your sanitary conditions straight!!!

The internet is extremely horrible, it didnt let me even upload a word document so I used my cellular data as a hotspot to connect my laptop to work on..

In short, if anyone is scared or roaches flying on your face or need internet to work on something please dont spend your money on this hell hole!!!

Lawrence was great!! Very hospitable and accommodating. He gave great advice on foods, tours, hot spots, everything. He definitely helped make our group's time enjoyable!! The hotel was also a nice spot for a photo op!

It had a great location with a short walk to Burbon street! The room and everything else was amazing, the only downfall was that we booked and paid online through hotwire and the hotel charged us for our room a second time on top of that (after stating we had already paid online). Hopefully this was a misunderstanding as we are still waiting to hear back from the manager.

The room was nice. Nothing amazing. The shower was roomy and the water was always warm. The best thing about the hotel was the friendly staff and the location of the hotel. The hotel was centrally located to quite a few attractions and restaurants. All easily in walking distance.

Really great location. Right across the street from Harrah's casino. Walking distance from the French quarter. If you're driving a little tip, parking is $45 a day at Le Meredium. You can park for free at the Harrah's garage across the street provided you gamble at the casino for 30 minutes every day. We did that and so far the casino has paid us to park.

Disappointed. A group of friends and I stayed here over the weekend. The workers were very nice and accommodating. However, the rooms were smaller than expected. We had planned a surprise reception by the pool for our friend's birthday but it was put to a halt due to mice/rats running around. It was 3 that we visibly saw, there may have been others. This was very disturbing and frightening.

A bit of advice, if you are going to serve food by the pool. You must have someone cleaning up around the clock. You can't leave food laying out all day and YES I saw with my own eyes a tray of food that had been out there for hours.

My stay was great I realized when I return home that my bags was not put in the car. I called and Tamiko Perry(Security) assisted me in getting my bags back. She boxed my clothes and sent them to me. I cannot thank you enough for you assistance Tamiko Perry. You are truly a blessing.!!

It was my first time staying at the hotel. Although the rooms were small, it was clean and very nice lobby. I gave it three stars because the elevators were not working properly during the duration of my stay. At one point, the elevators were not working at all. I either had to take the service elevator or wait a long time to get on the elevator. I m disappointed because I wasn t even offered a reimbursement for my inconvenience. I would not stay at this hotel in the future.

Great service and hospitality. The only caveat for a "le meridien" hotel is the rooms are smaller than expected, especially for "double bed" rooms. Lastly, the double beds are not your traditional queen size beds, more like double beds. Overall, great experience with great staff.

This hotel looks lovely on the outside and lobby areas, but our room left much to be desired. It was very tiny, as was the bathroom, and for some reason, there were only 3 towels. The ice machine on our floor, 8th, wasn't working. We left around 9 on Saturday morning to go to the WW2 museum. When we returned to our room at 3, it still hadn't been cleaned. The desk clerk said the rooms are cleaned until 5 p.m. and that I should let them know when we would be leaving the room so it could be cleaned. The location is very convenient and based on other reviews, there are rooms that are larger.

A word about the parking fee of $45/day. I don't know what other hotels in the area charge. We discovered that we saved money by parking at the hotel and taking Uber around town. The Premier Parking lot fees really add up when we drove our own car and parked it on their lots.

Visited May of last year during a holiday weekend. Hotel was nice. Decor and rooms were beautiful. Im familiar with W, and know that the Le Meridian is within the same family, so expected the rooms to be based on a European size model. The pool was nice and overlooked a portion of New Orleans. Hotel is walk-able to many different eateries and of course Bourbon St. All of the staff was friendly during my stay. Hotel is also directly across from Harrahs. The area around the hotel seems as if it could be a lil sketchy, but as long as one is aware of their surroundings, you'll be ok. There are parking options outside of the hotel, but was more convenient to park with the valet and have in and out privileges. Would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel if you have the chance.

It was horrible!! I will never go back to this establishment ever again. Purchased a section that had no barriers. It was like what did we pay for. Everyone was in the section with us. Placing their feet on the couches and throwing drinks on the table. The hostess were disorganized and unprofessional. They had no idea what was going on. Things really need to be streamlined and tightened up. Complete opposite of what I experience at home in Atlanta.

Pros:

Pros:
Conveniently located
Affordable rooms available
Pool

Cons:
-Bad sound insolation. You can hear the next door neighbor, especially if you lucky enough to have some loud ones like we did . Feel bad but bad to call front desk to resolve this. Not sure if they sent security as told over the phone but it took quite a while for our neighbor to finally quiet down. Moreover, I was waking up by their noice again around 1:30 am ( I guess either they came back from partying outside?!?!)
-Very tiny room and especially the bathroom

- Guest service could have been better. Booking was for 2 people but only one bathrobe was there. So called for another one before heading out for dinner. But when we came back it was still not there so had to call again.

Tips:
- there is a self parking lot across the street. $40 ( included Tax)/ 24 hrs

This was very nice hotel experience. Came in town as a first time visitor and enjoyed this hotel. The lobby and amenities are very modern and well decorated. The room was clean and no issues with A/C. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. They were a little slow bringing us things like towels and lotion, but they were probably just tired of us asking. It was the middle of July so we took minimum two showers a day. Most touristy things we did were about .5 to 1mile walk from this place which was great going, not so much returning in the humidity & intoxicated. The only negative (which isn t the hotels fault) if you have to decide between views: don t waste extra on the city view. It s not that special of a view. Would definitely stay here again.

Le Meridien... you have an identity crisis. Make up your mind, either you want to be a W hotel or a Sheraton.

Staff here was great, lobby was big and had a nice bar. The concierge was top notch, really helped us with some last minute reservations.

The rooms, eh... pretty weak. Oddly shaped rooms. You walk in and the bathroom is literally in your face (rooms next to a suite).

I really wish this brand would figure out what to do with itself because I'm ready to cross it off my spg list for good.

This is not a real W. The service was terrible -- especially in regards to food services. Undercooked eggs for breakfast, many items unavailable from the room service menu. The heating does not work in the rooms and even a patient demeanor from a guest will not result in a positive response from an employee. The elevators and doors creak. Overall, they have some of the aspects of regular W's and some modern touches, but the service and comfort you would usually find in a W -- as well as the reliability -- is not present at all.

Whack. For what appears to be at at face value a 4 star hotel, is in fact closer to 2. While I understand many things are different with covid, the basics should still be there. Horrible bed. None of the pre check in requests where accommodated (extra pillows/towels etc) tried to call down to desk to get pillows sent up, no answer after several tries. I walk downstairs, wait in line, and then am handed a random pillow that was stuffed somewhere. Website indicated there were robes in the room, not there. Indicated foam pillows where available, not true. No coffee. No nothing. There was a small assortment of outrageously priced drinks in the room mini fridge. Valet parking is $50. Over all I would have been better of at a hampton inn. Very disappointed.

The location of this hotel is perfect! It's only one block away from canal Street and two blocks away from the French quarter. The service was amazing. We were checked in by Diamond and she helped us out with everything that we needed(we can be high maintenance). Lastly we absolutely loved the ambience in the hotel and the rooms were beautiful. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to NOLA

Valet is horrible!
We went to get our truck at 10 a.m. They brought us an SUV that did not belong to us. After a while, they told us they lost the key to our truck. They looked for the key for about an hour. Then, they decided to call someone to make a new key. We left there at 12:15.

Wonderful hotel. Clean, nicely furnished rooms with a good view and very reasonable rates. Great location: the hotel is located in the Business District, within walking distance to the French Quarter and adjacent to the riverfront. Great dining, shopping and attractions nearby.

Update-Came back a 2nd time and once again, home run. Check in and go right to the bar and ask for Shaira or Andrew. Those two are amazing people and possess a genuine spirit and aura of camaraderie.

Great hotel, great staff at front desk, at kitchen and bar. Staff knows how to treat you well and have a lil fun! I want to add that the bar food was fun and affordable, so dont overlook the bar for a fun time. The ONLY downside is parking as valet is $50..but across the street is a 24 hour parking for $35

Over all great room super trendy and great location and atmosphere. My only hesitation with not giving five stars were the sheets were a little stiff not that s soft. Would recommend this place otherwise.

Great hotel in an accessable spot away from the bustling Bourbon Street crowd but not to far. Everything you need in a hotel. Just pay attention to your folio, they charged me $11 for "complimentary" internet.

The key cards always demagnetize and need to be reset. We had to reset ours like four times. They say don t put it next to credit cards or cell phones . Yeah right. What century do we live in? I ve never had this problem at any other hotel on the planet. Otherwise, room was great and service was great.

Just left there today. Room was bad smelled like urine, very dusty, AC doesn't work properly and dry fecal was found on bathroom wall. In my opinion this hotel isn't worth what they are charging Marriot needs to reclassify this property to Cat 3.
