My main goal today was to see David Hockney: 82 Portraits And 1 Still-Life before it closed, but I also ended up having a portrait taken at the exhibit, seeing the Decoding Mimbres Painting Ancient Ceramics Of The American Southwest exhibit, going on a docent tour of The Chiaroscuro Woodcut In Renaissance Italy exhibit and seeing part of the To Rome And Back: Individualism And Authority In Art, 1500-1800 exhibit.

Lacma is on a spacious campus, with multiple food offerings and exhibition spaces. There are permanent and rotating exhibits. It was a pleasure to walk around, and the docents were both knowledgeable and conversational.

Great museum, although now it has gotten expensive fir a public institution - $62 entrance and parking for 2 people? Lower income families can't afford those fees, yet their taxes support it.

Very well put together museum. It's a whole day visit if you like various types of art. If it's just something to do, then come have brunch and enjoy a couple of hours.

The LACMA lights are an attraction at night.

Lots of parking around the neighborhood. Clean facilities, restaurants and restrooms.

Don't forget to visit the La Brea tar pits museum right next door. If you come with a child, the child gets a junior membership and an adult admission for free.

I know what you're thinking, LACMA is overplayed and isn't unique or worth going to, but it truly is beautiful and cannot be replicated through pictures, and considering the price, 100% worth it.

I think it is one of the best things in Los Angeles because everything & all attractions are related to Hollywood.. I really liked the most Islamic Art section and German Cinema history & Gallery as well as Picasso paintings. One disadvantage must tell about is that some sections only for members whereas we are tourists and staying just 1 or 2 days and cannot be there the whole week waiting for public admission..

Largest museum West of Mississippi, even with three buildings closed we didn't get through it all. Wonderful place and a joy that lasts beyond the visit. I've now held Rembrandt and Kadinskys work with my own eyes. There's a spectacular array of genre, I highly recommend going. Try during the week if you can, to enjoy far less traffic.

Highlights are Urban Lights and Metropolis II by Chris Burden! The Asian arts are interesting to explore especially if there is a tour.

The museum complex is spacious and the outside is well-landscaped and nice to stroll and have a picnic.

Tip: For Bank of America cardholders, the first weekend of every month gives you free admission.

Cool place to spend an afternoon but not worth full price of admission unless you re an art buff or hunting for Instagram photos! We went on one of LAs free admission days. Parking was rough but eventually found street parking saving the $16.

It was a nice museum. Picasso's, Monet's ,Rembrandt's and Warhol's. were in it. But, it is surprisingly crowded. The ticket lines where sluggish even though there were only like 20 people. The security here was actually nice, much nicer than the Getty's security. Only one security guard actually annoyed me because she literally stalked me through the American Art section. The Renaissance and Reformation special exhibit is also pretty cool. The stuff here is not as good as the Getty's. The Guillermo del Toro exhibit was sold out when I was there.

This museum is enormous with so many different famous artists such as Diego Rivera and many amazing works of art. It isn't very expensive to get in but I do recommend doing it in multiple days because the museum is so large.

Metropolis is a mesmerizing installation that has brought us back to LACMA several times. It is worth the price of admission by itself. The giant rock isn't much more than a giant rock - get your obligatory picture of someone holding it in their hands. There are some good pieces of modern art in the permanent installations as well.

This museum is accessible by the 2 and 3 trains via the Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum station, which can also be used by the 4 and 5 trains during delays or nights. The museum has some great art work being exhibited. The security do their job properly, the art is carefully set up, it's clean and various artists exhibit their works here

My wife, sons and in-laws love it here. It has great thought provoking installations, and important pieces, but very accessible for families and art lovers alike. Just a joyful, rather than somber atmosphere.
