Highly recommended for visitors to Los Angeles who are art aficionados. LACMA has a wide variety of art in several collections, including Modern, Abstract, Historical, Japanese, Impressionist, etc., with many notable works and rotating special collections. Notably there is a 3 story special Modern Art collection adjacent to the original collection that is worth a visit, several outdoor exhibits, a special Japanese Art museum that changes out most of the exhibits around once a month, and is adjacent to other notable areas of Los Angeles, including the La Brea Tar Pits and Page museum in the same park. Korea Town is adjacent, as are multiple dining options within easy walking distance. The collection is comprehensive and in my opinion, superior to any other Los Angeles art museum, including both Getty museums.
