Free after 3 PM for Los Angeles County Residents! This museum has a bar. I was surprised to find a Rothko and a Mondrian. The Japanese Pavilion is wonderful! Given traffic and the abysmal state of public transportation on Wilshire the museum can be excruciating to get to on a week day. The rock in back must be seen

Although the museum was under renovation, we enjoyed what we could visit. It is a great day out food prices high, the food trucks park on Wiltshire offered options at better prices.

In a few years there will be an amazing new building showcasing the collection. I m looking forward to the new facilities.

Always find something smart to do when in downtown. The museum is great to visit, to learn, to explore and share some good times on your own or with friends.
Make sure you visit it time to time:)
Take your kids, have a date or hang out with a bunch of people:))))

LACMA is vast, so I shall home in on the newest part, the Broad Contemporary Art Museum. Architecturally, the building is a stunner. I entered at the top using the exterior escalator. There's engrossing multimedia art and a truly intricate kinetic piece with miniature autos and HO gauge trains / street cars. If contemporary art is not your thing, you might enjoy the view from the IMMENSE glass elevator. Not to miss the upper floors of thew Art of the Americas building. I especially liked the Mexican section.

Stopped to Watch the La Brea Tar Pits and Discovered ourselves in LACMA by Injury. Got tix and moved indoors, a little on the costly side. We'd heard of a certain type of"lego" display. Rather it had been a tinker toy kind of build, enormous over 25 ft long,15 feet broad possibly and 12 feet tall or more. .

If you visit LA, it is one of the places you must visit. It is the work of a lot of lamps at the entrance. Especially when the sunset or dark, it turns into a beautiful figure. You can enjoy various works of art. Admission fees vary depending on the address.

Went to the Guillermo Del Toro exhibition, I was in awe. Although some pieces could have been better lit, the experience was out of this world. Just the opportunity to be able to get a glimpse into the creative mind and processes of him was great enough.

Excellent museum and art gallery, should be on any trip to LA. Unfortunately, the tar pits aren't included in your ticket but much of that is open and can be experienced from the outside.

LACMA is about to go through a major upgrade next year, so try and get to there before then or it will take about 4 years before completed.

Lots of cultural history but also excellent exhibits and attractions for all. Metropolis II is well worth viewing in action, but only operates at certain times so make sure to check when you get there and plan around that.

Great museum with a diverse collection of art. Usually one of those museums that has an active pulse on its field of study, and also acts as a cultural center with a variety of events and talks to bring the community together to focus on hot topics of the day.

Museum without any interest. In works, some Picasso. All for the price of MET is 25 usd plus 16 usd parking. A first class manicure. Really very disappointed. We must look more closely: this is actually a county museum. Impressive emptiness. No interesting work, no museography no explanation and a very confused visit plan

I always enjoy seeing the art exhibits that connects you to a certain time line. Its almost feels like you get into a time machine and taken back into the past. Its also a nice place to go with someone you want to catch up with but need topics for dicussion like a first date or even with your spouse to have a nice conversation about the different art pieces that you enjoy or dont.

Spent a wonderful Sunday at the LACMA. Some of the exhibits were closed but overall it was great. Had the chance to visit the Charles White exhibit and panel of speakers. We had a nice lunch at LACMA cafe. Museum was well maintained. My only suggestion is to provide wrist bands so you are not constantly harassed by the security guards wanting to check to make sure you dont sneak in. Spent 5 hours and still nits more to see. We bought the membership because we plan to be back and we wanted to support our community.

Wow this museum is huge! So hard to see everything in only one day. And they are still expanding! The ticket prices are very inexpensive and it's so worth your time. Beautiful works of art in there

Love LACMA! Such a little treasure in the middle of our city. The art is well curated and there are often surprising and unique exhibitions. I love that they offer a special "NextGen" - a FREE (yep, Free) membership for under 17's. They also offer art classes and camps and lots of other family centric activities. The location is near the LA Farmer's Market and is only 1 tenth of a mile from the wonderful LA Brea Tar Pits.
