The pictures at this exhibition gives one a fresher frame of mind.
Beautiful exhibits all around. We were able to view the building on the West but ran out of time for the building on the East. Definitely not for younger children or people that can't keep their hands to themselves. This is real people, please don't touch.. except the outdoor piece.
Stopped by here for the lights, which are awsome. Great place for Instagrammers.
Love taking my son to the LACMA grounds because its right next to the La Brea Tar Pits so he gets to explore both areas. Run, ask me dozens of questions about animals or scultures and we picnic on the grass. If you get a membership for your child, the parent can enter free. I love that! Children have a section where they can create art. We do the meter parking for 2 hours each visit so I plan ahead what we'll explore that day. You can use their parking right next to the museum for a fee, as well.
Great visit, amazing collection of Picasso's, really enjoyed the free weekend offer.
Art exhibits spanning numerous eras. Reasonable entry fee. Parking available at the La Brea Tarpits for a fee. Onsite restaurants & gift shops. Adjacent to the tarpits. Recommended.
Great museum for contemporary and modern art. Was a little bummed that so many halls were closed for renovations and the ticket price wasnt lower for it.
Very interesting museum! Pleasant atmosphere outside. Coffees and restaurants.
An interesting place to visit in LA. In addition to the work of the lighthouses, inside the rooms they find interesting art exhibitions.
Every Tuesday at 1pm
LACMA will usually present a classic movie. Price varies if you are a member or not a member. Price $2.00 to $4.00. A classic movie! Wow!! Good seating. Audience is made up of tourist ,film aficionados, and the curious. Restaurants are on the site as well as within walking distance. Added attraction : Labrea Tar Pits right on site. Make it a day... I look forward to Tuesday at 1pm at Los Angeles County Museum on Fairfax and Wilshire. Don Owens
Every step of this museum was a treat. You can tell this is one of the great American cultured cities. I especially enjoyed the Japanese permanent collection! Their cafe was quite nice as well and with the La Brea Tar pits right next door this makes for a solid day trip.
Beautiful museum to attend. I will never forget this amazing place. Great place to bring your friends and family for a fun day out.
Nothing of the permanent exhibition is on display during the renovation
It was really fun and informational to kids and people alike
I like this place because it is open to the public and it' very good for walking and enjoy the different activities for adults and kids.
Great museum. Good art. Nice people. Jazz on Fridays.
Really nice atmosphere and almost endless art exhibits to view. A lot to see for free!
LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States. It attracts nearly a million visitors annually. It holds more than 150,000 works spanning the history of art from ancient times to the present. In addition to art exhibits, the museum features film and concert series.
great place to relax and grab a coffee and enjoy outside artwork
Getting a little class in life. Still have a place in life for pool shooting dogs on velvet
A lot bigger than expected perfect for family, dates, and more. Would do it again!
Most exhibits were shut down so it was kind of blah. We drove a long way for over half the museum to be shut down
Was able to see the Guillermo del Toro exhibit. I always stop by when I'm in L.A. because there's always something new.
It is enough to visit this place once, there are a lot of entertainments nearby (museums, shopping centers) - an average park, a museum at 3.5-4.
Such a great place if you come to LA don t miss this place
I never got to the museum. I just stayed in the Urban Lights sculpture area. Very popular place for tourists and great for photos.
To take the pictures on the posts, there is no need to pay. Created in 2008, it consists of a series of poles and street lamps restored from the 1920s and 1930s. During the night, they all light up!
We always phone order and get the food in fifteen minutes or less. Food is always good.
cool place to chill and take pics and showcase to new friends visiting. touristy though
A nice place worth a visit, but I would not advise anyone to have a backpack with him because there is no Deposit
Went when the museum was closed for the urban lights and it was so beautiful! Night time things to do after all day sight seeing
The night where the photographs are taken by Sothar Insa
It's good for the price but I have to be honest, I've seen better
On Google maps, the navigation takes you to the back of the museum on 6th st. when the front of the museum is one block south on wilshire
I absolutely love this place so much! The art here is so exquisite, if you want to look at some unique, cultural art, LACMA is the place to go!
The lights are very beautiful, not very good at night.
Went for the annual free-for-all day and visited La Brea Tar Pits then LACMA.
Great place to spend an afternoon and enjoy some fine art. They have it all. it is beyond crazy how but his place is. I like it very much. The kids love it too. its a must with the family
Half of the museum is closed, yet they charge full price.
World class art gallery. You can spend a whole day here exploring the exhibits and all the different buildings. The place is packed with amazing work. I went on a Saturday and it was busy, but not near as insanely busy like other world class galleries like the Louvre in Paris.
Can't wait to go back, had such an amazing time. Perfect date location!
A lot of exhibits were closed. Still had to pay full price.
Urban light is my favorite!! Highly recommend to go there at night!
And good place for your profile picture!!
But as a art lover, I feel the lack of well-organized collections unlike the getty center.
I love LACMA! I got a student membership here so that I could come as often as I want. Obviously, everyone comes for the urban lamp artwork outside and the floating rock, which are both very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing for photos (and I have taken plenty at each)! Then there's the rain room, which isn't as exciting as it sounds (sensors take a while to detect you and usually get you pretty wet), but is still a pretty neat experience! Hard to get a good photo in there though because of the water and the iffy sensors and lighting. The museum had a diverse array of exhibits, from the contemporary to the ancient to renaissance and early modern. And it's only getting better - a new building is being built for a Motion Picture museum. They also have really good seasonal exhibits. The one right now is Picasso and Rivera. If you go to the building across from the Picasso exhibition, they have early modern German artwork from the time of Luther that I found to be very educational and inciteful. I'm not sure how long it'll be there, but it was one of my favorite parts of my visit the last time I went. LACMA always seems to have something new, and is continuing to expand. There's also so much around it, including several other museums. I love coming here! Definitely recommend getting the membership if you're an LA resident.
If you're outside LA you have to pay $25 for entry but it gives you access to most of the additional museums around the complex. Even though a few exhibits were closed there was still a lot of content to explore. Beware the tiny No Photography sings though.
Been coming here since a child . After many years of coming here-wow ! Brought back so many memories.
There is a lot to see but the organization of the different galleries or pavilions seemed uncoordinated; I felt like walking through an overgrown garden with some nice speciments and lots of weeds. Big is not better. I understand there's a plan to build something bigger. A mistake.
Love coming here and getting yours and attending their talks. I ve also taken their collage art class and had a ton of fun, and materials were included.
I recommend a membership if you want to go often (more than 4x a year) and get tours, since most of their tours start before 3pm. Otherwise if you just want to see the art then after 3 for LA residents is free. Also! If you have a Bank of America card, the first weekend is free.
It is a fabulous place where you recreate and learn art in a simple way, its exhibitions are very well distributed and the place is very welcoming.
Went on a Friday late afternoon. A little concert was going on. First time there. Will go back.
LACMA is a cute place to come for a date or explore alone. There are a lot to do around the area. The museum, the tar pit, the lamp posts, etc.
Great place to go and get lost in serenity or discover something new. In the summer on Fridays and Saturdays there jazz on the lawn. The concerts are free and family friendly. The museum never disappoints
Really cool place. Our last day in Los Angeles. We decided to go there the lady was so helpful and even hooked us up with free passes to seethe exhibits!!! She was so nice and friendly
Great museum with a variety of exhibits spanning many different mediums of art
Los Angeles County Museum of Art is always a great place to visit and relax for the day. If you are looking for a place to take great photos this is your place. It's a very popular place so it can get pretty busy. There is parking all around this location so you will have to plan on doing some walking when you get here.
