Awesome space for art, music and random exhibits. Cafe s are available. My only issue is how expensive the parking is. $16!!!! Whaaaaat. I mean it s a museum for heavens sake.

That s my only complaint. Otherwise it s an amazing place.

Always a nice time to come out and relax and listen to jazz.

The only thing I can really suggest is just get here early.

The concert typically starts at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM and if you get there closer to start time you probably won't really find close up seating, but there's really no bad seating areas.

You can bring your own lawn chairs and food and everything and sit on the small grassy area or they have chairs set up which get taken really quickly. on this particular night it was kind of cool outside and they actually had heat lamps so that was nice.

There is no cost and there is street parking in surrounding neighborhoods. They do have a restaurant where you can purchase food and drink and I believe there may be a min cost as this restaurant is in close proximity to the stage area.

If you are going, get there early especially if you want one of their front and center seats

Absolutely amazing! With such stunning works of art, and amazing (but pricy) food, it's no wonder why this place continues to be one of LA's main attractions. I came here for my first time last year with a friend and I continue to be a frequent visitor! Just amazed!

Great!

Beautiful place hidden in the la Canada residential area. It's nice to go for a walk, to lay on the grass or even enjoy the beautiful scenery. I wish they would let you picnic but unfortunately you are not allowed to as it attracts animals. They have concerts in the summer if you are a member you can get tickets to these concerts.

World-class collection and traveling shows.

Unfortunately they're letting it fall apart before tearing it down to build what looks like a mini mall on stilts--Not distinctive or beautiful architecture.

And, in the meantime it's not right to charge people when some of the walls are dirty, and worse many of the spotlights on paintings are burned out so you have to look at them in the dark. Disappointing.

Although this place is only recognized because of the lamp lights in front of the museum, i recommend coming and and actually enjoying the art. Walking around all exhibits is very calming, you get to appreciate art on a different level. Walking around the tar pits is really a treat as well, you get to find out so many interesting facts and see artists you've made your google background irl!!

LACMA is a great place to bring the family, it is friendly for all ages. I took my family there a few weekends ago and we want to go back to see the new exhibits. Make sure to clear out a good portion of the day to go through most exhibits. The weather is great this time of year and is very cool to go next door to Hancock park and see the La brea Tar Pits and take pictures. The facilities are all very clean and easily accessible. They even do film screenings so there are many activities to do and great restaurants nearby! great fun, check it out

So much to see! You can easily spend 3 hours here and not see it all. The prices are pretty cheap, especially for students. The only downside is the general admission does not cover certain exhibits

Another LA "must do" I went into the actual museum once, it was great! Since then I've been back a few more times to shoot ( ) the red walkways and the Urban Lights and grabbed a drink at their restaurant. Photographers beware, you cannot set up a tripod on LACMA property, but you can on the side walk RIGHT in front of the lights. Also, there's a few places you can set your camera on for a steady shot. The museum is open relative late and it's located on museum row which is ready convenient. If you live in LA County admission after 3 Monday to Friday is free as is for kids. Otherwise you're looking at around $20/pp. The museum also offers classes that you can see at a glance on Google Maps.

Still small but very worth visiting as it shows a very visionary aspect of California

A place that you'd expect to be just that. The lights were okay, very memorable. Expect that you won't get that super Instagrammable shot wherein you're in the middle of all of the lamps since you'll be taking photos with lots of people. Also, don't go and stand on the lamps or ride them or what, just don't place your feet on them or else the person on duty there will get you big time..

Anyways, lovely place. 5/5

Beautiful. Quiet (if no construction in area) A favorite of mine x 20 yrs. It is a magical place for some...exhibits taking you back in time. Cultures you only hear about are there for your viewing. Bring a picnic lunch...there are places with benches as well..no cookouts! The cafeteria is sometimes really good.. take a chance. I enjoyed a good chicken salad and partner had Mac and cheese casserole. The place is HUGE! Be prepared to walj a bit..at your own pace but if you have walking difficulty or shoe issues bring your comfy shoes, walking cane etc. BUT th ere are benches strategically placed throughout. You will enjoy so much more. Stilettos are OUT! Enjoy!

We visited the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, or LACMA, to check out the Urban Light Installation which is becoming a destination on its own. We had a hard time finding a place to park, which is a struggle in Los Angeles. We also checked out the paintings of the local artists, but did not take photos out of respect for their work. This is a must visit if you love art in general. Too bad it was raining, because we were told that this area looked good at night as well.

Friendly staff and world class art makes LACMA a must visit once in your lifetime. My favorite showcase from LACMA was James Turrell light exhibition. I also just happen to catch Tom Cruise the same day while visiting, point is you might never know what could come across in LACMA

LACMA is one of the great museums of Los Angeles. There are lots of classic, permanent installations (like Urban Light and Levitated Mass) as well as constantly rotating art sets. They always have something new, and it's fun to just chill and walk around on the grounds. I'd recommend avoiding the cafe though; everything is insanely overpriced (like... more than movie theater markups). Something that IS worth it though is the membership. Fast admission lines, special installation entry, and some other perks are great, and it's nice to be supporting the arts. And don't forget the camera because there are lots of great photo ops!

LACMA is a great museum full of exhibits for attendees of all ages. It is great to visit as a date option, for a photo opportunity, for a family outing, and/or to just explore on your own.

Incredible museum. One of the best places I've ever seen. All exhibitions are unique and worth seeing. Definitely recommend to spend a couple of days on it, to really enjoy it. Also Starks bar is a must see place.

Everyone knows this place is fun, but it especially fun for the over 21 at night. Most people lined up immediately to go to the planetarium, but we headed off to check out the museum. We practically had the aquarium to ourselves. Then we visited the main floor and checked out the new earthquake exhibit. They like to shake things up here. They had several bars serving specialty cocktails throughout the place. Not much food variety though. For $12, this was well worth it!

I really enjoyed the museum and the way it was laid out. Not too confusing like some.

They had outdoor interactive art installations as well as large sculptues. The Guillermo Del Toro exhibit was going on and I absolutely loved it! There are many great works of art to see here.

Mi fiance finally brought me to see the brea tar pits and LACMA. Museum is really nice, lots to see and lots of walking. Really enjoyed the tar pits better and of course the famous lamps. We came during the day even though the best time is at night again because of the lamps but it was such a good day.

Although it was a holiday when we went, the line was short and moved fast. We were able to visit the Diego Rivera and Picasso exhibition. It was exceptional, and the kids as well as the adults enjoyed it.

Great place! Buy some tickets once you get there online to avoid the general admission ticket line. There are a ton of exhibits and realistically this museum takes two days to complete. The lights outside are famous and a great photo op!

Love this place. Be aware that during construction most of the major exhibits/floors/buildings are closed. I did not know that until I got there, and being an out of county resident I paid full admission for limited viewing. That said, what was open was fascinating. Great outdoor area to grab food, sit, and relax a while. Will visit again when more is reopened.

A really interesting and diverse place! There are contemporary installations right through to classic paintings and there is so much to see, it deserves more than one visit. I didn't go to the exhibitions that cost extra but with the huge variety and quality of the main exhibitions I don't feel like I missed out.
