We got there a little late in the day but still managed to have a good time. Can't wait to go back!
I really don t like this place because of poor management
To be honest I didn t go inside, came for the lights and mission accomplished!!
They are currently doing work on a large area but really enjoyed what we had access to. Will go back.
LACMA has a great permanent collection and wonderful curated exhibitions from 20th to 21st century art. If you're an art lover in LA definitely stop by. If you're there between May and September from 6-9pm, you'll have the opportunity of sitting outside and listening to numerous local jazz musicians who play during the "Jazz at LACMA", for FREE! It's awesome.
Great museum with plenty of pieces of art to see. You can easily spend a whole day here enjoying the various categories of art. Parking is a bit steep at $16 but you can also wander La Brea Tarpits while you are at it. Expect crowds on a weekend and even bigger crowds on free museum weekends.
Really a special place. The general admission is pretty reasonable however having to pay individually for special exhibits can get a little exhausting. Still, there's a lot of great stuff here in an amazing location.
Fantastico ed enorme luogo dove ammirare opere d'arte , ben organizzato
Great place to visit! They offer a fantastic program for children to visit the museum for free. They also get one free adult pass for every visit until the age of 18.
Very disappointed in this place. I am an art enthusiast and frequently attend museums and this one was less than satisfying. The art was wonderful...that is the 50% I did actually get to see...I understand exhibits must be closed for installations but to close SO many at once during
peak hours of the day is ridiculous. In addition there were no postings that these installations would be closed (of course) when we bought our tickets and the cashier did not mention it either. We would have went anyways but the most annoying part of all was walking the entire place and having to figure out for ourselves once we got to each one that they were closed. We spent a lot of our time turning around and getting lost because of the closed exhibits that we hardly got to enjoy the ones we did actually get to see. If we would ve known we wouldn t have wasted anytime trying to get to the closed ones. I am a tourist so this might have been a vary rare chance to appreciate your exhibits and it was ruined. Very sad.
Lots of art collection inside
All kinds of art can be found inside the museum, from Japanese art, Egyptian art, Chinese art, Mediterranean art to all kinds of different culture historical art & paintings are all kept here. The museum is very big to walk around, be prepared to walk alot.
Amazing Musem. They are always bringing in new work. Dont miss the Mark Bradford work.
It's always worth the visit weather you are visiting Los Angeles or a native. It's also a great place for weekend drinks with friends.
I had a good time with my friends at this museum. It's full of interesting art from all over.
My daughter is super into art wanted to take her senior portraits for her yearbook at the urban lights display. We drove to LA for the pics. As she was taking her pic with her cap and gown, the security guard, Carl, approached us. He congratulated my daughter and got us all access passes to the museum. Good guy.
It's an awesome experience. Place is huge, no way you do it all in one day without taking the time to appreciate it all. You gotta pick and choose what you want to see. Be prepared to walk
One of my very favorite things to do in LA in the summertime (added bonus: it's free)! Pack yourself a picnic (or a bottle of wine, at the very least) and a blanket and park it for some world class live jazz and people watching. The shows start at 6 but people seem to get where really early to grab a good spot--I personally don't mind being a little ways away from the amps so I can chat away with my friends, but you do you. Drinks (and snacks, I think!) are also available for purchase onsite, but there's a Whole Foods about half a mile away and I prefer to bring my own.
The parking struggle is real at LACMA, so be sure to read the signs if you choose to park on the street. I gave up and parked in the lot for $15 last time, which I figured was okay since the event itself is free. Another little perk to parking in the lot is a you get to mosey by the tar pits and a colorful art installation. We were with kiddos who got a kick out of both! Speaking of kids, this event is 100% family-friendly. Put this on your summer bucket list!
Betye Saars, Amazing thought provoking work. Dont let the obvious fool you.
All of them are beautiful. I hope he returns to their country.
nice spot for photos and remember the No String Attached movie?
LACMA is a must-see for people visiting Los Angeles. Beautiful facilities and art exhibits.
Really solid museum (nice collection). Saw special 3D exhibit and really enjoyed it.
Such a rad museum filled art that isn't lame. The Hockney exhibit is fantastic and they have a killer collection of Picasso's'.
Really nice place to go with thousands monuments but it's too expensive it's good for visiting there only once a year because of tickets price
One of the best museums for art Los Angeles has to offer
World class facility. Extraordinarily kid friendly for a serious museum.
Something different and nice park to walk around b lots always good time to take selfies.
We were treated really good and the guide were very helpful I would go back again when I visit Los Angeles
Great place to get photos and the art is quite intriguing they have a ton of different exhibits
Wonderful selection of arts and nice place for drinks
Great museum for the left coast. Nice exhibition of Mexican art. Unfortunately, parts are closing for rebuilding.
I love the LACMA. Great exhibitions nearly all the time
Vast and calm but the collections of contemporary art are rather limited.
A lot of information, that from your home you will not be able to appreciate.
Another must see attraction when you re in Los Angeles California. Its one of a kind museum. The lamp post exibit was amazingly beautiful. Its worth to take pictures to keep & bring back home.
This place has some really great exhibits! The bling! Exhibit was my fav. Def takes a few days of coming back to see and appreciate the whole place.
it's a huge place! need lots of time to see it all. cool art displays.
The LACMA is located in Hancock Park next to the La Brea tar pits. A huge building complex with countless exhibits.
I love everything about lacma. I recommend coming during the week to avoid the crowd, but even full it's a pleasure to be here. (If on a budget eat before coming because the food here is expensive.
The Charles White Exhibit and docent led tour was great but very little else appealed. Part of the museum was closed. For the cost of a visit, another museum might be a better choice. The outdoor bar was relaxing however.
Art is an elixir for the human condition. This is a sanctuary of art and culture. Almost too much to see in one day, this is an ideal community building space. Workshops, live events, food, tours, and extensive collections you may check in anytime, but you may never be able to leave.
Very cool display. Beautiful at night. Fun fact....funded by Leonardo DiCaprio
It's a cool place to go to. Especially if you like taking photos of artwork.
This place is such an inspiration i loved coming here and enjoyed every bit of it. By the time you arrive you see alot of great architecture and art display. Nice and clean, lots of parking and very beautifully displayed art. You have a few other points of interest right next to lacma like the brea tar pits. A must stop place if you are in LA or nearby. They have different shows every so often so check whats going on before you arrive. There is a charge to enter
Wonderful museum and grounds outside the place too.
The night lights are perfect for touristy shots. Great place to chill and hang out - there s a restobar at the back.
Make sure you come at a good time or there will be too many ppl
Well curated exhibits that change every season. I love coming to this museum.
The place is amazing! The collection unbelievable and the Jazz nights are just the best!
Had a lovely day at the museum, you can spend days looking at the vast collections. Truely impressive ensembles of well known artists, incredible pieces on display. Would have given the museum 5 stars, but they didn't disclose that some of the exhibits we're closed upon arrival, and one of those exhibits was on my list to see. Nevertheless, vast amounts of work to appreciate.
Best place to get pokemon you should really go! Trust meee
For lovers of modern art it is a paradise. Recomign it.
A perfect place to admire artwork past an present. Come here if you wanna stop and smell the roses
Didn't get in, there is a lot of construction going on there, that finalized by modern attractive building
This is one of my favorite museums to visit in Los Angeles. I especially like their special exhibit, the latest one being Guillermo Del Toro and 200 years of men's fashion. Both excellent. You also have the ability to go there for free on certain days of the month if you're a California resident and/or have a Bank of America Card.
Half of the buildings are closed and it's not worth the 25$ ticket and 16$ parking fee. Extremely disappointed. A few of the open exibits so are okay but compared to the Getty Museum the LACMA is a joke.
Museum is closed. Building will be demolished and rebuilt in 2024
This place is a Los Angeles treasure and a a terrific destination for families. If you are an LA parent, especially with small children, sign up for NexGen and get to the Boone's Children's Gallery. Seriously.
