A lovely hotel with plenty of history on display. I have stayed here and also had dinner, which was excellent. A recent visit for brunch was less impressive. They sat us in a corner near a stack of chair cushions. The food was good but not better than any number of hotels downtown. The hostess looked like she had just passed gas and wanted me to go away. A little disappointing.

This is not up to Omni's usual standards. The building used to be a children's boarding school so walls are very thin and you will hear all toilets flush in the surrounding rooms above, beneath, and to the side of you. Many maintenance issues abound and our room was no exception. Elevator was even out of order. Avoid.

Quite disappointed with the hotel as a whole. For almost $300 on top $42 a day for parking a night I found many issues with the stay. First off, the AC/Heat is awful, my room would only set to one possible temperature, no lower and no higher. The TV would not work at all, took at least 10 minutes fiddling with it to get a picture and then it just froze. Took no initiative to explore the rest of the hotel because of my disappointment. I was however excited for a balcony with a view of the river but quickly realized that the hallway had access to the same balcony room did!?!? So any random Joe could waltz onto my balcony and potentially into my room?? That makes me very uneasy. On top of everything the first $5+ drink I picked up was expired (as you can see in the pictures, the date was Feb 19th and it is mid April now), that led me to not trust or even want to check anything else. Lastly, the wifi was mentioned to be complimentary but turned out to not be, it cost something like $15 I'm sure per day. I understand it is a rustic hotel which is pretty rad, but the old hotels I've stayed at in other places have been much better quality.

My wife and I arrived very early in the morning, and the overnight manager, Arturo Navarro, was extremely helpful in our check-in. We very much appreciate his assistance. We had a short, but wonderful stay right on the RiverWalk. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of many restaurants and the Alamo.

Beautiful building and nice interior, but it was a bit loud throughout the night (river walk side). The pool was tiny and wifi was only free if you signed up to be a loyalty member. They did accommodate our children with a fun activity sack and there was mention of milk and cookies brought to the room the first night, but that didn't happen, which really wasn't a big deal. I wouldn't advertise it though. Overall, the stay was okay, but next time we will try other accommodations.

Great service and rooms were nice and clean. Great location. Right on the River Walk! The only thing I noticed that I wish was just a bit better was the fan blowing the AC/Heat. I stayed at this location twice and both times I noticed the More

Pros: The hotel is very nice. It s well maintained and has quite a bit of history. The online pictures are accurate (which is very important to me) and the service is excellent. It s located at just the right spot on the Riverwalk for us because it s within walking distance to the Alamo, Hard Rock and many other attractions. Step out the back door and you re on the Riverwalk. Walk across the Riverwalk bridge as soon as you come out of the hotel s back door and you can literally touch restaurant tables. Conveniently located to several restaurants.

Cons: unfortunately, it s definitely a tourist trap! They nickel and dime you for E V E R Y T H I N G!! The free guest Wi-Fi is so horribly slow that it s virtually unusable - think dial-up modem from the 90s and you ll get the picture. Of course if you want speed that doesn t make you want to jump into the river then you ll have to pay for that. Dining gratuities (17%) were already added to our check but it was called a Service Charge. When I asked the wait staff what the charge was I received a vague answer. It wasn t until I kept pressing for an explanation that I was finally told it was her tip.

I always overtip so had I not pushed to get an explanation she would have received 2 tips. I was charged full buffet price for a child under 2 yrs old! I didn t think that was cool at all. Regular menu prices are pretty steep. For dinner we ordered 3 hamburgers - they come with fries, 2 crab cake appetizers, 2 desserts and 2 canned sodas. The bill was $144.

We stayed one night but the ENTIRE staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We had a unique situation with a furniture truck so the concierge Rick went out of his way to help us find an appropriate parking facility. In the evening, Mauricio in the bar could not have been more accommodating. Upon arrival and departure it was a great experience. Having the good fortune to stay at many resorts and hotels, this one is at the top. Thanks

Omni L Mansion is a beautiful, historic hotel with the most polite and helpful staff of any hotel I have ever stayed in. EVERY staff member was generous with her/his time and spirit of hospitality.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. On the other hand, the hotel is dark, boring and plain for the price. The elevator was super slow because it was under construction. The only other plus for the hotel is it's right on the Riverwalk.

Was at the hotel at 3:30 to check in (hotel check-in time is 3:00) room was not ready was told it would be at least another 45 minutes. Had a business meeting at 5:00 by, 4:30 still no room had to get concierge involved to finally get a room. Not what I expected from the Omni. No other to upgrade room or anything

This historic building is immaculate! The rooms are very clean and beautiful. The are renovating right now and they told me should be done fully in 6 months. With that being said I cant imagine the rooms looking nicer, they already are great. The crew doing the renovation was never a bother, I never heard any loud tools or noise. Don't let the current renovation dissuade you from visiting this hotel. It's also right on the riverwalk. Everything is only a few minutes walk from here.

Our stay at the Omni La Mansion del Rio was perfect. the Hotel staff , our room , everything was perfect. Our room was very clean and large. The size of our bathroom was perfect. We had no issues at all. Jenny at the concierge desk was absolutely amazing. I am so glad we stayed here. I would recommend to anyone looking for a Hotel on the Riverwalk.

From the moment we arrive at the valet we were greeted by friendly staff! They let us know that the valet overnight parking was $50 a night or we could park across the street in the pubic parking garage for $9 a night. We opted for valet and they took our belonging out and let us know where to check in. Our room (7th floor) had a private balcony overlooking the river walk, absolutely beautiful!! The hotel location was perfect. About a 10 min walk to the Alamo and easy access to the river walk. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pull out sofa bed. The ONLY complaint was the elevator. It was slow and very HOT. I m not sure if the little lights in the elevator were heat lamps because it was so hot in there. Other than that everything about the hotel was perfect. This will be the only hotel we will be staying at from now on when we visit San Antonio.

Great place to stay, beautiful rooms, right on the river walk with access directly from the hotel. Close to everything, walking distance to plaza, and cairrage rides 1 block over. Will defiantly stay again. No major complaints, except having an HVAC tech in the room before we walked in and a bit of toilet trouble.

One of the beat hotels and one of our favorites. It's historical, private and a great get away to rest from all the river activities. Close to many great restaurants. Parking is valet at $20 a night, or self park across the street. You can drive into the valet area and unload your bags though. The lobby is gorgeous and takes you back in time. There is fresh aqua fresca. The rooms are charming over looking the courtyard pool. You can bring your own cooler of drinks to the pool, but no glass. You can order drinks and food poolside as well. Simply the best.

The rooms are a bit small. And the hotel is a historic building, so the amenities are not modern. But the service was impeccable. Especially the Bellman. They were very helpful as we were taking a number of large items up and down from our hotel room for a wedding that we were attending.

The Guest service is great here but that's about where it stops. It's an older hotel, however, the MASSIVE black mold in the vents and the fact that the AC wouldn't drop below 75, after one night I canceled my stay and took my family to another hotel. We are here on vacation and I was not going to pay $250 a night so my 19 month old can breath in mold. He was running around the room with no shoes and his feet were black as night from the dirty floor. The night front desk person was very kind and helpful and I appreciated that but not worth the health risk to stay there.

100% would recommend and will return. Service was phenomenal! Staff was excellent! Hands down the best hotel stay of my life. I've traveled the world in the military and stayed at hotels everywhere... nothing comes close to this palace. I really wish I was getting paid for this, trust me I am not.

Our FIRST room was ok. The hallway was extremely hot but the room seemed a little cool at FIRST. After we came back from the Riverwalk several hours later, our AC was not blowing on high like it showed so our room never completely cooled down. After 2 different maintenance guys came in, they said they couldn't fix it and would try to get us a fan. A fan never showed up (they were out) but the manager did offer to move us into a different room. The SECOND room was a lot colder (praise God in this Texas heat) so I thought everything was fine. However there was a weird smell because I assume house keeping sprayed something before we switched rooms. I'm not sure if that's what caused a rash, but I immediately broke out all over my thighs, back, and stomach. After that, I decided to grab a drink from the fridge and took a few sips from the apple juice they had, and sure enough it was almost 5 months out of date. So I grabbed a Sprite and sure enough, out of date to. Needless to say that was the cherry on top. For a 4-star hotel, I expected way more. I was highly dissatisfied, and will NOT be coming back. I appreciate the managers efforts to accommodate our stay after our less than satisfactory experience, but it seems like they are lacking in a lot of areas. The valet guys were great though, which was the only positive about this hotel.

UPDATE: After our really bad first experience, housekeeping did replace all of the old food/drinks, and the manager did comp our first night! Overall management and their customer service was great.

The location of this hotel was fantastic right on the Riverwalk. The food in the hotel restaurant was great. The staff was amazing. We kept her marking that we felt like we were in a Spanish villa or a Mexican Villa it didn't feel like we were in San Antonio. Please note that the Interiors are very dated but not in a bad way. We kind of laughed because there were still a phone hanging on the wall in the bathroom. I haven't seen that many many years.

I spent one night at the hotel on my wedding day. The staff was very friendly and upon learning of the circumstances of our visit they organized to have champagne and chocolate strawberries brought to our room.

The access to the River walk was very nice and the room was clean and inviting. I would definitely stay here again if given the chance.

Great customer service. You really feel pampered upon entering. Our room along the river are overpriced and a tad run down. You can hear people on the river walk late at night and we were 6 stories up. Otherwise it's a beautiful Spanish style with lots of charm.

The last time we visited the Riverwalk, we stayed ...

The last time we visited the Riverwalk, we stayed at a different hotel across the river from The Omni La Mansion del Rio (which loosely translates to Inflamed Prostate on the River .

I remember looking across and saying we should try the Omni next time . So we did. About the same price and overall good ratings, so why not.

The first shocker was the $50 per day Valet parking. You can park for 75% less across the street, choice is yours. Check-in was quick between 3-4pm, I couldn t make out the whole tattoo across the chest of the girl at the counter, but I m guessing it had something go do with living my best life while swiping my card.

Although we booked via our CC travel service, there were no additional perks with the Omni La Mansion. The river view king room with a shared balcony (literally sharing 4 chairs w 3 other rooms). They aren t all like this, but of course ours was.

The room itself is dark and mysterious. Heavy dark curtains, the obligatory chair/desk w 70s glass top, 32 TV (with $20 movie rentals) and mini-bar. If William Travis and Davy Crockett stayed at a hotel before the battle of the Alamo, I m guessing this was it. After stepping outside on the patio (a view of a large tree for us) we did notice the room very musty and humid. More so than the rest of the hotel.

The bathroom has a small footprint, short ceiling and of course ours had a wooden door that scraped the floor the last 12 so at least everyone on our floor knew we were doing our business.

There was no privacy please placard to hang on the door, but the false fire alarm at 6:30am bellowing exit the building and the smoke alarms ringing got us up early enough to miss the morning housekeeping routine, along with my weekly 2.5 minutes of stress relief. Thanks Mr Vape on the 4th floor.

As long as we were up, we might as well take advantage of the $25 per person breakfast buffet (Disney characters and coffee not included, sorry).

Next time we book a stay on the Riverwalk, it won t be here, just too nostalgic for my tastes.

Everything was great. The only problem is they seemed to be a bit shy on their room service. I think they might have been short a couple of employees. First morning, we didn t get any cream with our coffee. The next morning, no butter, jam, honey etc. with our breakfast. Another morning, like 45 minutes for a pot of coffee. Other than that- nice hotel in a great location. All the staff were very nice & helpful.

Great old hotel on the Riverwalk. Downtown is easy to navigate and if the valet parking is too pricy for you ($42) you can park directly across the street in a public structure for only $10. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The concierge was very knowledgeable of the city and surroundings and very helpful. The lobby is old and comfortable. Our room overlooking the Riverwalk was perfect. The Riverwalk can be noisy but the doors to the balcony are well sealed and was very quiet with the doors closed. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've experienced in a hotel, a bit on the firm side which is what we like. Lots of convenient electrical and usb outlets including on either side of the bed. Bathroom was updated but not modern. Very nice. I think the fixtures are all Restoration Hardware. Large soft towels. The main restaurant in the hotel is the best. We had an awesome dinner there. Not typical for a hotel.

This is my 2nd time to stay here. this time we actually stayed in a room that actually faced the riverwalk. The Room was recently remodeled and they did a wonderful job. My son who is into games that you create homes and design homes absolutely loved it. Service as always was great and the people that park the cars are extremely professional and open the door for you. The convenience of being able to walk out of the hotel door and be at the riverwalk is amazing and of course it's right in the middle of the hub where all the restaurants and excitement happens. as a returning omni guest we got free drink vouchers. I will return soon because I love it here. A must stay.
