We ve had an amazing stay here. We always try to stay at Fairmont s when we travel and we are so glad we did. The Fairmont in Santa Monica is beautiful. With the window open you can hear the city and the ocean crashing onto the beaches. The staff are friendly and the restaurant downstairs is superb. The location is amazing and the bikes are free to rent. Will definitely stay here again when we are back in Santa Monica.

It's a very nice ambiance with a lot of history behind it. The concierge services in the front were very kind and directed me to the pool. The pool was nice and well shaded.
Hotel is not on the beach but there is a shuttle to get to it. Note you have to pay $50 something for parking. Hotel bed is comfy. Modern-ish rooms with cool tablets in each room and books you can take home. Loved that they had a turn down service. Be forewarned, if you stay on the side with the Pier view, on a Saturday night the hotel turns into a club and you can hear the music go all night long. It was a bit loud!
Very unique location, right off the Santa Monica Beach and pier. Conviently located in the downtown area and walking distance to the 3rd street promenade, classy restaurants and bars. Great selection of drinks at the bar, amazing food & service at Fig restaurant. The hotel staff, valet, and room sevice are extremely attentive, knowledgeable, prompt and kind. Would definitely stay again
The Bungalow was beautiful. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. The waitress came around just as often as we wanted more drinks. I highly recommend this place to both tourists and locals.
Popular Palisades location for techie hipster type out for a weekend toot. Outside bungalow provides heaters and pricey cocktails for underdressed westsiders. Almost guaranteed to meet a few "masters of the universe" inside. Rooms are nice but Shutters and Loews are on the beach .
This hotel is awesome and Sam the manager is wonderful. We told him it was our honeymoon and he took great care of us. The property is beautiful, well run and luxurious. Beautiful pool and great outdoor dining. Very safe with Covid too, super clean. Would definitely come back.
We came in to have a few drinks at this lobby bar on a Sunday afternoon. The actual bar was a tiny little bar with only 5 or 6 bar stools. Most people were just standing around the bar area so it was a bit crowded.
We had espresso martini with Grey Goose, classic Vesper martini and spicy margarita. The drinks were very strong and tasty, they offered chips as snacks. I think you can order bar food too cause I saw someone eating a big sandwich at the bar. The drink prices were not too bad for an oceanfront hotel in my opinion. Our bartender was very friendly and fast considering she was the only one working at the moment. We had small fun talks with the friendly and easy going people at the bar, most of them were not from LA.
We stayed for a while and decided to check out the Bungalow lounge next door. Remember to validate your valet ticket here cause they don't do validations at the Bungalow!
Ps. the parking at Fairmont hotel was $7 with validations first 2.5 hours, standard valet rate each additional hour. It's $20 first 2.5 hours without validations! WiFi was useless!
WOW! We have been using Fairmont as our brand of choice and will likely continue to do so, but never ever at this location, and I will actually steer people away from this location. The "scene" and vibe here is not for families. On arrival we walked to dinner and came back through the front entrance with our two young daughters to crying drunk girls, obnoxious guys using language that made me cringe, and to top it off puking right outside the entrance. Night 3 someone through something over the top of the bushes onto the sidewalk from the bar. All of this came from the night club The Bungalow which is located basically adjacent to the front entrance of the Fairmont. The pool was basically the same scene on day 1. Adults with way too much alcohol acting like complete idiots. Even my 11 year old commented to me on what she saw and heard. Morning breakfast at the Fig was amazing but .... more of the same. Guests recounting last nights drunk fun and discussing plans for the next night's drunk escapades. I know the hotel can not control who their clients are and their actions, but they do need to decide what their brand is and who their target market is on this location. The Bugalow Bar is a major liability waiting to happen and seems off brand for Fairmont even in So. Cal. This was a huge disappointment, and I do not recommend people bring their families to this location.
The fourth star is for one, the ambiance. It s an oasis from the hustle and bustle of 3rd Street Promenade and a power breakfast spot at the same time. And second for the best happy hour around. Everything on the menu is 50% off. Yes, go for the oysters. The food is solid no question but not at the OMG you gotta try this level.
Amazing experience and top notch service all around. The entire team, especially the concierge team, helped make my 14 year old daughters birthday very special. The beach club was an awesome perk and great service.
Thank you for such a great experience...world class.
Bartenders at the Bungalow were attentive and service was quick despite a large crowd. Great outdoor bar area, but the layout to indoor section was a little confusing (I and others all made the mistake of trying to open a locked door to get to the indoor bar or bathroom).
It is a very good hotel; however, the quality of its services has decreased. Some parts of the hotel are a little deteriorated. Access for the disabled is very ugly.
Had a great time vacationing here with my girlfriend. The staff could not have been more friendly, especially Artur and the staff at the pool bar. Will definitely be back if we ever return to Santa Monica!
Few of us met up at the bungalow and it was nice but very crowded. It's nice that they have three bars available and outdoor seating. Overall had a good time lots of fun!
The Fairmont is a gorgeous property just across the street from the beach. It's like walking into an enchanted garden to enter the front driveway. They have three unique room products, all very comfy. There's also a salon, barber shop, indoor-outdoor gym, and amazing views.
This hotel is a historic local Gem that has traded ownerships several times. The history stretches back to Cary Grant days, and in fact you can see a lot of his photos while he stayed here, all those years ago. I like this hotel. There is something authentic about it. Its probably my most favorite in all of Santa Monica, if not Santa Monica and Venice (Not much in Venice frankly).
Attended the hotel for a wedding. Ballroom facilities were very nice, staff was organized, and the courtyard was quite beautiful. Would definitely stay here if looking for a unique beachside hotel.
Loved this place so much! It s beautiful and breathtaking. The view is great, pillows and bed is fantastic, and the bathroom has everything you need including a makeup mirror. Love that they have shower gel instead of just bar soap. They also gave us complimentary apples and oranges upon arrival.
They did not do anything special for my birthday, though, even though previous reviews say that they celebrate your birthday with cake. My husband told them more than once and they didn t do anything which was a little disappointing. Maybe they don t do anything special anymore.
Coffee in your room is included. Gym is fantastic- it has an outdoor area with a view! And peloton bikes which I had never tried before. The fitness classes were also excellent. If I had more time, I would ve visited the Fig restaurant. My husband said it was wonderful and he would go back even if he was just in the area. Amazing decorations for Christmas, too! We even took home a bottle of wine with our hotel credit. It was a fabulous stay.
What a relaxing night, sitting outside by the waterfall, enjoying an amazing wood fired pizza and glass of Rose. Beautiful hotel, great food, nice ambiance and incredible service! John was so sweet and attentive! Worth the trip from Hollywood
I am a business traveller and in 2017 I stayed at The Fairmont in Dallas, San Jose and Santa Monica. I believe this is my fourth visit to The Fairmont Miramar where my company holds our year end regional meetings. I spend most of my life on the road staying in many hotels. It is always a treat to visit Santa Monica. With the Pacific Ocean and SM pier across the street to the wonderful restaurants and shopping near by, this is always one of my top places to stay. It shows when a hotel works hard to earn your business and in my opinion, The Fairmont Miramar delivers a truly exceptional experience every visit. Also, my wife and I are big fans of Le Labo products that we first discovered here at The Fairmont.
Well well I came in and hang out with my friends/customers from hotel I like the place management needs to work on the parking lot parking can be an issue depends on how these kids at the front handle it
