Everyone we met was nice and they had all sort of things to keep you busy. We tried the spa, restaurant (Vue), bar, shops and athletic rooms/ gym. I would have given them a 4 but they miss the mark on a handful of things. 1st, the facility is older and you can see the wear and tear throughout the resort (the shower curtains in the men's spa area has holes in them, columns have missing stucco, the restaurant is overpriced and not worth it, and the bar on a Friday night / 7pm was not that busy, yet still hard to get service.) The most odd/ unusual part was the bathroom setup. The shower is connected to the area wear the toilet is and has glass walls, which you can see from your bed if you don't slide the rolling shade/ window closed. Plus there was no exhaust fan and no real privacy. You can hear everything even with the TV on. If it wasn't for a work event, we would have stayed somewhere else.

My wife and I have stayed here for our Anniversary in the past one time my wife had them change our room not once but 3 times for not being totally clean before we ended up leaving. We thought we would give them a try again last year and it ended up being O.K. but I'm not sure that my wife and I will give them a try again.

This was my first stay on the West Coast and possibly the most beautiful place I've seen with my own eyes. The grounds are immaculate and the buildings are well kept as well. I will make a effort to go back. I was there for work but would enjoy returning to relax. The people who set up the event were excited and it lived up to the hype.

I was a DJ for a wedding. The staff was very helpful in helping me navigate through the loading dock to the room I had to get to. Captain of the room was very helpful and kind along with the friendly staff that helped ran the room and the wedding I DJ'ed

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. A group of my friends booked suites for our families. The following day, the front desk agent emailed each of us to saying we had to either cancel our reservation, or pay more than triple the price to keep the room. After numerous phones call and emails, the resort reinstated two of the rooms at double the price, and refused for the remainder of us (the remaining couples who did not have lawyers in their families, ironically), simply ignoring my last 3 emails all together. Absolutely disgusted. We will be booking our family trips at the beautiful, friendly Hyatt Aviara up the street from now on!

Ground very well groomed a mature landscape. Architecture and pool with large slides are terrific. Lost point to typical resort prices, average valet parking and checkin process. Last lost star dark hour check in. Very difficult to see signs when arriving in the dark in comparison on how simple the layout is in daylight.

We stayed there last week. The resort was nice but the room we stayed in wasn t. The shower stunk like sewer and I ve had nicer showers in Best Westerns. Our business partners liked their rooms but they all upgraded. Shouldn t need an upgrade when we already spent $300 for the room.

We've got to La Costa four of the last five years during the summer. While we live only about an hour north of it, La Costa has become a great getaway for us and the kids.

The rooms were great, the food was wonderful, the service people we met there were very kind, and the crowd that La Costa attracts lends itself to new friends and a great experience.

The grounds there are beautiful and the kids activities are many and varied. We feel right home there and the kids feel safes to run around by themselves.

One of the thing that differentiates La Costa is they way they handle even the most minor of issues. Our experience with Johnson Menezes, their front office director was so professional. You don't often meet people that care about your experience and your family's happiness as much as he, and that is one of the reasons we continue to come back.

Met some friends for food / drink. Everyone was very friendly, everything was really great. The only complaint I really have is that the food took what seemed to be longer than usual to come out. Not a deal breaker, just something I noticed.

This place is overpriced and overrated! The grounds are beautiful however the rooms and one of the restaurants were media-core. My husband and I stayed there for my birthday and we were not impressed! They only had 2 people helping at the front desk during check in time so there was a long line of people waiting to check in. We were told we would be called when there was a room available and it took longer than they told us. It made me think that they do not have enough staff to clean the rooms.
We paid extra for a quiet room and We mentioned We wanted a room with a view like over the golf course. The room that was recommended to us and we stayed in was on the opposite end of the golf course and overlooked the pool. It also ajoined a room with a family with small children. Why would a couple with no children want to stay on a room with an adjoining door to a room in which a family was staying?! The door does not block noise!! Additionally, the plumbing in the rooms is not insulated so we could hear the toilet filling up with water in the room next door. There was also a humming noise coming from the mini-fridge so although we wore earplugs, my husband could still hear the fridge.

We had dinner at Vue. The restaurant is long overdue for a renovation plus it needs to serve better food. My husband had a salad that had something in it that burned his lips and affected his sinus! I ordered the coconut curry which was recommended by the waiter and it was not that great. When we received the check, 3 alcoholic items were added to our check when we only had one coke and a glass of water.

I almost thought of skipping our get away and going home. Very disappointing!

Starting with 5 star welcome at the front desk by Anthony Felix to expansive grounds, sumptuous rooms and a tranquil setting. Prefect getaway for either romance or family and so close to Los Angeles

Good experience, would have given an additional 1/2 star if I could have. I've golfed here twice and enjoyed both courses, though I'm not much of a habitual golfer and would have more strokes in a single 18 hole round than Tiger's entire tour. This time we stayed at the hotel for a quick anniversary trip. We enjoyed our time immensely, the room was very nice, grounds are gorgeous and the promenade all lit up with palm tree lighting at night makes one feel fancy.
Room service: not sure if it's just the nature of large hotels in general (we are small-inn-type people typically) but we asked for additional towels and pillows and waited a good hour plus to receive them.

Yeee

Our server, Ramon, and the rest of his team at Bistro 65 is AWESOME! I wanted to try something new so I ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca for dinner and it was excellent, very flavorful and out of this world. We had buffalo wings and grilled flatbread for appetizer and they were all spot on. The wings were not extremely spicy; they were just the way we like our wings. The flat bread was fresh and light and delicious. My spouse ordered rib eye steak and it just melted in his mouth. My kids ordered pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders and they were above the ordinary. We were so happy full but couldn't resist the dessert. The dessert was phenomenal! We had the chocolate caramel pecan crunch bar and the Valrhona chocolate layer cake and they were all superb. I would go back everyday if I could. Thank you for treating your guests special and thank you for going above and beyond. We definitely appreciate it and this is, by far, the best hotel dining experience we've had. Omni is very lucky to have you and your team. THANK YOU. -- Maria De Leon

This place is so beautiful! Easy to get to and close to the beach. We basically had the resort to ourselves and the staff was beyond amazing. The food and wine at all onsite locations was perfection! I wish I had more time at the spa.

Big rooms with huge tubs. Place is mostly club members vs hotel guests which gives it a strange vibe that you don t usually find. It was full of kids and really loud and lively. There is an amazing adult pool to go to if you want peace and quiet though. We had planned to go to Legoland but never made it because we just wanted to hang at the hotel.

The room was just okay, but had a wonderfully large tub that we enjoyed. Everything on the property is of course very expensive, especially the spa, which was nothing to write home about but charged $170 for a standard-issue massage. It's a beautiful place but in my opinion, overpriced.

love it

Hotel has great team from front desk staff to restaurants server, specifically Carlos, the server at Vue restaurant. He provided very excellent customer service in terms of making sure serving me fresh brew coffee that I requested. He made sure to refill me a other cup of coffee was fresh brewed. Always wearing a big smile and greet every customer with cheerful face. He made my morning beautifully.

This review is strictly for the SPA. I called to inquire the price for a couples massage since pricing wasn t listed on the website. The spa representative told me it would be $185. I confirmed $185 for both of us Yes ma am. I also confirmed there wasn t an upcharge for any lotions or deep tissue. Imagine my shock upon checkout we were charged $480! I called and spoke to Morgan at the spa and she told me the price was $240 per person. She admitted it was a miscommunication and a mistake on their end not to discuss the bill and the end of the service (which they started 10 min late). The spa offered nothing to resolve this other than their apologies. I will never go back. I feel like the spa took advantage of us and stole from our family vacation.

I definitely have been to better hotels. Not even close to beating the Ritz Carlton in comparison. The set up of the rooms and pools were very inconvenient, as you either had to take a long walk or a golf cart to get from point A to point B.

I wish there was a bigger main lobby or some sitting rooms to hang out in.

The pool was WAY TOO WARM. I felt like I was just jumping in bath water. So gross.

Maids didn't do a really good job when cleaning the rooms. We caught two of them hanging out and making sandwiches in the room next to us.

The staff was very friendly and was always there to help.

The cafe that was really the only place to get drinks, food, or nic-naks was VERY overpriced (as expected). Expect to spend about $7.50 on one drink.

The restaurant in the hotel, bistro 65, took an hour to serve our meals. And LUCKY ME, I was served uncooked pasta. I could barley pick it up with my fork it was so hard. No manager came out to apologize or anything. A couple of my friends meals were not too good either.

Being here for a conference, the food buffets were really lacking. There were eggs only one day for breakfast, the other days had burritos or hard boiled eggs. Even the dinner was lacking as the only meat they really served us was a GIGANTIC turkey leg. It was bigger than my own hand.

Overall this hotel gave me and my family a better experience than the first time we visited California, but still was not the best. A lot needs to be fixed.

Fancy

I was not going to leave a review because I had been working with management to correct the multiple issues that we had during our short stay and in all honesty.... La Costa is a beautiful Resort & Spa with really nice people working there... But this is my sixth day of having to have some kind of contact with La Costa in person and via phone and it is frustrating to say the least. I booked three rooms at a group rate. I did not get that rate. So I had to go in and have the rate adjusted which caused multiple problems with swiping my card multiple times which "locked" my card. got that resolved.. Room 1 Night one: four-inch roach ("water-bug') crawls from behind the drapes. I call the front desk "OH NO!!" housekeeping comes with a broom and says I don't see anything. I say it went back behind the drape. eventually it falls out, she says "OH NO" and commences to beat the roach. Room 1 Night one: sitting on the bed kid says "look. another bug" this one flies across the room and lands on the bed. we all run to the next room. I call the front desk again from the other room and tell them we have another bug. it took housekeeping 45 minutes to come and several phone calls We are displaced for an hour at 11p.m.. It is under the dresser now. He moves the dresser and here it comes running out. He sprays it and picks it up with his rag. Not a good night's sleep. Room 1, Day 2: get up to go to the bathroom and look down and see another bug. Run and grab a glass and put it on top of the bug and slide it toward the front door. call the front desk. "OH NO!!!" while they are dealing with that bug I look around the drapes and floor... "Here is another one" Okay. they say we will come back and spray the entire room, clean the carpet, and make sure they are gone. I take towels and put them at the base of all of the doors. Day 2 Room 2: Roach (water bug) walking casually across the floor.. by this time we are pros. we kill it ourself and discard it. I call the front desk "Oh NO" she says. and I tell them I've heard that from four different people and "I am tired of the feigned surprise. Get a new one. You have a roach and spider problem." Never once was I offered compensation for my inconvenience until I asked. So Because of the multiple credit card swipe attempts, miscalculation of the rates, recalculations of the rates, incorrect rooms being credited and not, pending charges and every thing else I have spent the last week dealing with La Costa. Every one has been pleasant. Every one has replied to MY REQUESTS... however, it is very frustrating to have to ASK for e constant corrections and/or numerous explanations. We are still waiting for credits to cards and pending holds to release. The place is physically beautiful. The time we spent at the pools and outside of the rooms was amazing. The time in the rooms was a constant stress that something was going to fly from a corner. I shook all of our clothes before I packed my suitcase even placed It in the bathtub after doing so, unpacked in the garage once home, and put things straight to the washer and.... GUESS WHAT???? just smaller. I will never return and La Costa may not care. Like I said, I tried not to write this review. My vacation was NOT relaxing. Even the memory of what was good has faded because of all of the constant reminders and back and forth. Sorry ,La Costa, they say never judge a book by its cover. You are beautiful on the outside but need some work on the inside. I will not post pictures of our unexpected guests.

If I could go lower, I would. Here for a conference and they overbooked. A lot of people are sleeping in kitchens with a fold out couch "bed." A lot of people with reservations don't have rooms. AC is spotty in my room. They sent and engineer down and he told me "yeah, this place is old. I'm not surprised." Nothing was fixed because it was blowing cold air at the time.
