Went for mani and pedi on a Monday morning - treating my sister who was visiting from out of state. The salon area was nice but somewhat loud. By the next day, both of our nail colors were peeling off in huge chunks. Disappointed in quality especially with the cost of the service.

Shrimp scampi is the best I've ever had. The filet, medium, has a delicious crust on it. Smashed potatoes and Cesar salad.... it's all good! Sit at the bar and let Juan jr take care of you.

We only played golf at Omni La Costa. Valet is complimentary. Staff very friendly! The range was closed for an event so no warm up for us.
What course guest can play is a rotation between the championship course and the Legend.
We played the Legend. On the front nine, houses were too close on a few holes. The back nine was nicer.
Bring big spray, mosquitoes were only a problem around the club house though.
They seemed to be having issues with the grass in a few areas around the course. There were patches in the rough and in the fairway were in bag shape.

Nice resort with friendly staff. I'm disappointed that they don't honor Omni (Discovery) status. When I checked in I gave them my member number and Laura (I think that was her name) just wrote it down on some paper. She didn't even check to see if I had status she just told me she would add it to my account later. I was not offered a possible room upgrade, I was not offered a water at check in, or waters refreshed daily in my room, or turn down service, and when I requested a later check out I was told sorry we are booked full. I understand some of these perks are based on availability but some are not. That's what kinda sours the experience. What's the point of status if it gives you nothing in return? The room service staff was very friendly and the food was good. While I was not able to partake in any of the scheduled activities they sounded cool. I would never come back here if I had a choice. I spend over 200 nights a year in hotel rooms and the status helps me cope with that. Not at the Omni La Costa.

Our family of 5 go here every spring break. Kids love the pools, & jacuzzi's. We love the atmosphere. We will easily keep going every year. It feels safe to let the kids run around in their own a bit. Good places to see nearby. Breweries, restaurants, flower fields, beach, etc.

It's ok... I don't get the fuss. My room feels very dated and the view is of an ugly parking lot that's not even paved with a major road beyond. The furniture is scratched and chipped, which normally wouldn't bother me, but at the discounted $300/night rate, I'm glad my company is paying because I don't think it's worth it.

Kids pool doesn't allow outside food but they don't disclose that upfront anywhere. Pool staff has not been polite. The resort had not presented a good family experience. This review is after my first day here and we have four to go.

Overall, resort is nice and most staff say hi. But this is a 4 star resort therefore those pleasantries should be there. Bathrooms were not supplied with toilet paper or hand towels. The bed was not comfortable. The pillows both firm and down were flat and hard. I recommend you to bring your own pillows. The TV system is archaic. The WiFi is lousy and doesn't cover outside the room. The market prices were ridiculously high for basics. My experience would make me try elsewhere next time I need a family vacation.

This place charges premium prices for a lousy run down facility with expensive and horrible food options. Management acts like they care but everything they say they will do nothing happens. They are the worst.

This resort is dated. If you are a Millenial and want to know what resorts were like before you were born, this is the place, if you're like me and require at least a minimum level of modern technology, stay away. We can mark this one off our list, don't need to live like that again.

Best service I have ever received from La Costa. The the staff messed our appt times up and caused some inconvenience but the on duty manager took immediate accountability and greatly reduced our overall fees and provide complementary lunch by the pool.

She made things right without passing the buck, blaming us or causing a scene.

We will definitely go back! Services (massages and facial) were top notch and they do the right thing and make it a truly relaxing experience. Thanks and I look forward to coming back soon.

I was at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, for there PFC Camp. The location is very nice, they have several boutiques inside the resort and a market. the main entrance is kind of confusing. Staff are friendly and courteous.

Loved this resort. Attended a wedding here and it was absolutely beautiful. Only reason for the knock down to four was that room service was out of food except for cold sandwiches, and with the fog at night, the resort was difficult to navigate.

La Costa is an amazing resort for both business and pleasure. it has a very relaxing vibe. The rooms are over sized and very nice. My kids love the pool, water slide, game room and splash pad while my wife and I love the luxury feel of the resort, awesome dining and the golf The staff is super friendly and very personable. I'd highly recommend it.

Hotel was great and we have stayed here before however this stay was hard to enjoy. The hotel grounds were infested with mosquitoes. It made it almost impossible to enjoy our stay there as we could hardly be outside. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and we left with 20+ bites each. Just on the walk from our room to the restaurant we were bitten 4-5 times. I believe that somewhere on their grounds are hatching mosquitoes (maybe the golf course lagoons) as we went a few blocks down the street to the grocery store and shops and had no problems. Very disappointed with our stay. At the very least they should have offered bug repellent spray for their guests. Overall we were not able to enjoy our full stay as we had to stay in doors most of the time.

This Spa and resort could be on any tropical island, but lucky us, it is right here in Carlsbad. Staff, courteous and knowledgeable, grounds immaculate, coffee shops, restaurant, pools, kids play area, and rooms impeccable. They've thought of everything.

I was excited to stay here. I have stayed at several Omni Hotels and love the Dallas location for their amazing service. I have stayed at the Sheraton down the street and has happy with the experience there but wanted to try this place because I was expecting them to blow the Sheraton out of the water. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience here. Got in, got my keys, and a little over an hour later I got to my room. Booked the higher end suite and when the bell hop and I opened the door it smelled like an old wet dish towel. They transferred us to a new suite which was a step down than the one were supposed to stay in. Worst part was they told me to go back to the front desk to get my new key. The front desk person asked my how I was enjoying my stay. I replied with "not a very good experience so far." He responded with "I'm sorry to hear that, how many keys would you like?" I didn't expect to receive Motel 6 service for $500 a night. It gets worst. We finally make it to the pool as my son was excited about the water slide. We were in line 2nd up to slide behind a kid shorter than my son. After the kid goes down, he stops my son and doesn't let him on because he was too short. I told him I understand and that he should have checked the kid that was I front of us. He said he did which was odd because I was standing in line for the 5 minutes watching all the kids go. The golf course was not in great shape and the service all around was nothing to be impressed about. One last thing to mention. Every buy those horrible and dry sandwiches on an airplane. Thad it's what they serve here. They dad every chance to turn my experience around but failed to deliver. Worst experience ever and I will make sure to never stay at any Omni hotel or resort. I should have stayed at the Sheraton Carlsbad instead.

The Omni La Costa Resort is a wonderful location in Carlsbad, CA. I stayed at the resort for a business celebration conference. The amenities and food were great, and above what would be expected. I did not get to try all of the tremendous amount of ameneties available (multiple pools, tennis courts, golf course, yoga studio, weekly activities etc.) There is just so much to do, and I was not there long enough to maximize all of it! The resort is nicely spread out, but may require walking or catching the golf cart shuttles to go between locations for those that are not independently mobile. This sneak peak makes me want to come back and make sure to utilize and try out more amenities!

North County has some well known hotel or golf or spa or resorts, but none are as well known, perfectly located, semi affordable and combine all as La Costa, recently purchased by Omni Hotels.

My experiences with Omni have been very good across the country so I expected nothing less with the new ownership, but in all honesty, little if anything changed, so in fact the resort itself is pretty well functioning and sufficient with the seamless transition.

Unlike other places that host events they are golf courses only and with some of the only grass tennis courts around they play host to the WTA's SD womens tournament and other non professional tennis tournaments.

2 golf courses (1 being redone), full service spa, sprawling grounds with maybe not quite as nice a view as Aviara it certainly beats many of the RSF competition.

The main "town square" lined with shops, starbucks, game hall and blue fire options is a bustle.

With only a few hundred rooms the other accommodations are condo's. Don't be fooled by the room #'s.

They have a great pool for the kids as well as more general use one's, great bars for the adults to lounge at and all in all a terrific resort atmosphere. Adult pool because no one wants to hear kids screaming, especially if they are not yours. More hammocks please.

Personally I get more than enough sun and dilute my stress in other liquids so it's more about being away from my usual life, which is why I prefer Omni downtown.

We came here on out babymoon and the staff were very kind and accommodating. We loved the beautiful views and the calm before the 21 and up pool. The hotel room was just right with the things we needed. This place has everything you need for a quick getaway.

This place is so incredible. It changed my life. I visited for a Chopra retreat and never wanted to leave. The pool, views of the golf course, gardens, outside yoga views, restaurants, gorgeous rooms, and everything else kept my whole group surprised at the beauty and wonder of this Resort!

incredibly overrated. pools are small, rooms are filthy, building are shabby, and front desk staff is condescending. $20-30/day for parking! any other option would be a better option

Worst staycation ever!

Worst staycation ever!
We live in San Diego and we thought it might be a nice change to stay at this resort for 2 nights and relax since we have 2 little ones BUT
We got there at 6 pm on a Thursday, checked in and went to the Villa we booked on the first floor with front yard which I thought it is great for the kids to play and not call us every 2 sec. Once we arrived we noticed the TV doesn't work and half the plugs in the room are not working.
We went to dinner at one of the 2 restaurants they have open. Once we got back and wanted to give my kids a bath, we notice there is no hot water!!!!
We try to call them and oh the phone is not working!!!
I call them on my cell phone explaining the situation and they said "they have an engineer on site which will respond ASAP". Well that ASAP never happened and NOONE showed up to take care of the issue.
We call again and again and again asking them what is going on and we were so upset (we came to this resort to relax, remember?) and they said they can change our room to a third floor of another building. They mentioned they will work on the hot water issue and it should be good on the morning and asked us to "go to another room take a shower and come back!" (Like wth? Which high-end? Resort does this)
My kids were already sleep and I told I'd wait till the morning.
In the morning at 6:30, there was still no hot water, so I call them and they changed our room to the third floor of another building, which practically looked like a condo room (we originally booked a Villa and were paying 500 a night!)
There was no shame in the way they treated us, after arriving at that room I just called them to check us out. Figured it is a joke to stay at such a "resort" paying almost $1000 for 2 nights with lousy customer service.

If you decide to stay there, think again! There are so many other amazing places in San Diego than this so called "resort". Even renting a vacation house by the beach would be a better option and it costs the same!
