Nice venue for conference. Attentive staff and beautiful facilities.
We visited LA Costa before the renovation and were so impressed with the newly renovated property. The landscape is beautiful and the meandering property adds a lot of character. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Appreciated our stay very much!
I drove six hours for a golf tournament which I play once a year I was very tired.. I want to just go in my room and take a bath I get to my room with the bellboy and my keys don t work the bellboy lets me in but goes back 20 minutes later he arrives with new keys those don t work now I have to wait for engineering after an hour of waiting ... I call down to ask wheres Engineering because I would like to relax.. almost 1.5 hours waiting for engineering they finally show up when I m in the bathtub so now my bath is cut short and I have to get up dry off and answer the door ... engineering fixes door and leaves .. I go to lay down after they fix my door and lo and behold what s on my bed a bug it looks like a bedbug I videotape it I take pictures I keep it in the glass so housekeeping or the manager can see what kind of bug is in their rooms ... I research the type of bug by looking at images on the Internet and it is a carpet beetle carpet beetles lay larva and cause allergic reactions on skin
. Now I m freaking out I m pacing back-and-forth I don t know what to do I don t want to stay in a room with bugs on my bed .. I mean if it was a bug on the carpet or the dresser it would of been no big deal but it s on my pillow on my bed now I m freaking out because my mind is going every which way .. so I called down and explain my situation ..an hour goes by I m still pacing the room .. contemplating on going to another hotel but I m with my girlfriend who is in the room next to me ..they finally send up a housekeeper that doesn t speak English I don t speak Spanish so that doesn t go too well so it takes them over an hour and a half to come back to my room to switch me to another room they want to switch me to a room across lololol well where there is one bag there s more and I m not gonna be in the same building... so after my girlfriend talked to the manager they switch us over by the plaza in a different building altogether... the room is better but of course my safe does not work so therefore I cannot have housekeeping clean my room finally on the last day I let housekeeping come in to clean my room and when I go to take a shower that night there s no soap there s no shampoo there s no lotion there s no conditioner and I m in the shower you would think I would ve looked for that stuff before I got in the shower but I did not so after spending almost $900 on three days .. I slept with my clothes on all three nights .. paced for 2 hours ., could not sleep I kept scratching myself thinking there were bugs in my bed .. management does not seem to care one bit which is OK I won t spend my money there ever again I will never stay at that hotel ever again .. last year my girlfriend walked out of that hotel with bites all over her chest she blamed it on allergies now I know exactly what it was ..You would think they d want to view the bugs that were on the bed since I saved it but no one seemed to care ...so wjomever gets that room that I was in is going to have bugs in their bed... good luck
Very beautiful resort, located just north of San Diego. Spacious rooms, very clean. The service in the resort is exceptional. If you play gold or tennis, this is the perfect place for vacation. A couple of big pools will also keep the kids happy.
This is as posh as it gets for the laid back town of Carlsbad, Ca. The valet was swarming with high end German and British wheels and the pool crowd on a Saturday had more bling then the wives section at the Dodger game. When it was check-in time the staff was incredibly helpful and just all around nice by nature. Great place to get away from the L.A. life.
Fantastic property with great amenities. Two 18 hole courses that are great. Champions is rated as the tougher course, but the Legends course plays much more difficult, imo, due to lengthy rough and the need to be accurate with all of your clubs.
It took 10 minutes to turn left into here. Then self parking was full. Very large resort. Average quality buffett food at our event.
Top notch all the way. The restaurant manager Joey is great!
Gorgeous layout. Nice place to get lost. 4th of July is popping.
La Costa Resort rated 4-1/2 stars: After a 35-year association with the PGA Tour, which has now moved on to pastures new, La Costa can still boast two very strong and challenging layouts. The Champions course (formerly North course) is the tougher of the two. Formerly one of the biggest name courses on the PGA Tour, La Costa's Champions course remains a classic and testing layout, and one that is holding-up well under intensive resort play conditions.
Went as an overnight guest with others for a work function. All of them were comped parking, but I was charged. Hot water in room would trickle out of the shower intermittently with very little pressure. Was thankful to go home.
Very nice Omni hotel. Grounds are immaculately kept and the conference facilities are very well kept and staffed. Rooms are very nice, although a bit noisy.
Beautiful area. Room smelled old, the floorplan was strange. No privacy in the restrooms and parking was strange.
Our family of 5- 2 adults, 8, 6 and 2-1/2 stayed from 12/25-12/30. Great overall time. We opted for the cheaper room, ehh. It s a bit dated, smaller shorter ceilings but it s not bad. We planned a trip to visit the various parks around the greater San Diego area so we didn t prioritize the room.
Service was great from valet to the front desk to the pool and restaurants.
Updated 1/18/2020- after getting back after the holidays and what not I thought I would share some more about our trip and the resort
Pool- The pools are located just left of the main hotel entry. Being that is was winter, the bar area was closed but it appears to me that in a busier season they would have service around the pool.
There are 3 pool areas within the pool complex . You enter in the middle and to the right is the traditional pool with lounge chairs all around. There is also a separate area for the kids splash pad and the 2 water slides. The water sliders are great, they are about 3 stories tall, one is closed which is darker and faster. The other open, and slower.
There is also a very small slide for kids I would think up about 4-5 years old. Any older then would be bored with it.
The 3rd area is to the left when you walk in. There is a hot tub and a pool that has a real sand beach area. Be warned...the sand is all over the place, that is not a bad thing but it s in the hot tub and the pool.
There is so a hot tub away from the pools, but not to far. It is not an adult only hot tub, but it seems it would be the more quiet of the two.
Additionally, we stayed in the building closest to the hotel lobby and while it was not a more than a 2-3 minute walk to the pool area we had a hot tub in the courtyard of the building we were in. It was great! When we were in the hot tub there was probably 6-8 adults and another 4-6 kids and there was plenty of room for more.
Incredible amenities and grounds. Always enjoy visiting for events or dinner and are never disappointed be the quality of service.
The golf course here is very beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone visiting or loves to play golf.
Stayed at the resort and the rooms and services were really nice for the price. The ball room was great for the Marine Corps ball.
Arrived for a conference. Nice rooms, friendly and attentive staff, immaculate grounds. Haven't sampled the restaurants, but the catering has been very good.
Look I m no millionaire, pro-golfer, movie star or anything like that I m just a regular guy who always tries to do my best to make sure my wife is happy and well taken care of. This review is not about me, it s about my wife s experience at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA. I was the one who organized everything for her birthday to include a three day course at the Chopra Center. Without going into detail and experiencing the wrath of my wife for posting her age, let s just say her birthday was a major milestone. At this point I am extremely angry about what happened. My wife had to check into hotel late because it was a very busy day for her and we live in the area so it was a short drive. I called the staff several times to let them know that she was running late for her check-in but at no time was I informed that there was an availability issue and my wife wasn't going to have a room. When she arrived to check-in she was told that the hotel was overbooked and she would either be put in one of the cabanas with only a "sleeper sofa" or relocated to the Sheraton. Did I mention that we are local? If we were informed that there was an issue she could have stayed home and worked it out the next day. As I said, the Chopra Course and the stay at the hotel was a birthday gift that was planned months ago. So, I don t understand why she was bumped and not someone else. Now, I feel due to the confusion during the check in, the wonderful her experience we were hoping for is ruined. She chose to stay in the cabanas as they are on property, it was late, and within walking distance to the Chopra Center; unfortunately, the "sleeper sofa" mattress was so bad that she didn t get any sleep. I asked for the Manager to call me in the morning, this was to work this out with cooler heads and I never received any call and when I called them, I had to leave a message that was never returned. Let be frank, I m not whining, I m just putting out what happened to me at this resort and a word to the wise is sufficient. After this experience, I am reluctant to personally want to recommend or to stay at their facilities again.
It is always overbooked on Labor Day/ Memorial Day. You need to be in the pool area to reserve a seat at 7:30 am in order to seat for 4 people. Pool is dirty and one of the jacuzzi is not working. Restaurant doesn t have enough capacity to handle guests as a result the hotel invites food trucks so that you can eat your dinner bended on the bench. Unfortunately the hotel is cheap enough to add enough tables. Enjoy your vacation for chasing for a table to eat and wake up early so that your kids can enjoy your vacation. On the top of all, they overcharge you if you change your vacation.
As a place designated for families it was highly disappointing.
For starters - there is no kids club. There is a day care, meaning you can leave your kid there but you can't stay. In cloudy days when the pool is not an option there is nothing you can do in the resort.
Second - what about the walls?? They are paper thin! If you have a young kid that is taking a nap in the noon there is no way the noise of the cleaning staff won't awake him! And of you are lucky enough to stay on the ground floor then you can assume that someone will just walk across his room above you in the middle of the night and wake both you and your kid. And if he'll go the the restroom, well you'll hear all about it!
There is no suitable food for todlers in the resort, no choice of fruits and vegetables just your regular junk food.
A good word to the staff that wellcom us on our first day and let us do an early check-in even though we didn't coordinate it.
All in all - find better place to stay with your family.
Excellent customer service, but room in need of some repair/ update.
Beautiful property, as long as you don't need much wifi to work. I got 3g on Verizon, wifi only worked for minor email, any heavy files would drop connection or fail to load and switch networks (lobby or guest room) constantly requiring additional sign ins every few minutes. No meeting space wifi unless your group pays up big time. Very hard for productivity, and big factor if planning corporate events. Took several attempts to even load this review. :(
Very lovely staff and grounds. Lots of casual walking for event / banquet rooms. Close to beaches and about a 45 min Lyft/Uber ride to SAN airport. 1.5-2.5 hrs to SNA airport traffic depending.
Buildings are older but charming. Open airways and grassy walking and patio environment. Pleasant and romantic.
Costomer sevice is amazing from the receptionist to the Valet.
This is not a 5 star hotel. Carpets in suite smelled like dog urine. Bathrooms were molded. Internet access was nonexistent. Very long walk to our car. Concierge service was worse than at crapy motel, everytime I called they were uninformed and gave bad advice. We stayed for a week and it was sooooo not worth how expensive it was. WAY WAY OVERRATED.
Was given a message as a Christmas present, showed up to the spa San hour early and their amenities are great, shower, hot tub, cold plunge, day sauna, steam room, pool. But the the massage was excellent, full 50 minutes deep tissue, very relaxing
Location is very beautiful but service and amenities don't meet the exorbitant price
I went there to take group pictures, and other than being crowded, it was a great location.
Nice golf course with good facilities. We also had lunch which was ok. It is strange (and also slightly concerning to me) that this type of resort cannot prepare a medium rare burger.
Great place but needs more elevators. We had to carry heavy luggage honour room using steps.
Fantastic place to visit! Beautiful scenery! Spectacular service!
Beautiful grounds. Rooms are really spread out, and some of the buildings are being remodeled. Our building had no hot water one morning, just warm. Not what I was expecting, but we were paying a lot less than the usual rate.
Great place for a conference but rooms are very dated but roomy
Hi Liz and thanks for your response. I am not sure contacting members of your team will be of any help. In all fairness I will wait for my responses before writing my review in detail. Sorry to say your resort is nothing like it was when we visited back in 2016. Your staff top notch. There was nothing they would not do to please us. Not the way it was on our last visit....
3 day corporate event here that was AMAZING!! Great room, beautiful golf course and lots of other ammentities
Beautiful venue with lots of shops and pretty grounds.
Beautiful...breathtaking vistas, incredible service, great food, exceptional staff, and AWESOME water park & pools. A true 5 star resort.
Amazing place. My wife and I did a couple's massage for our anniversary, and we were thoroughly impressed. I'm not much of a massage or spa person, but this was well worth it.
Booked 4 nights and left after the first. Check in is at 4pm and we arrived at 3pm and didn't get our room till 7pm. Our room had musty smell and the bathroom smelled like raw sewage. Talked to other guest and they had the same issues so they must have a sewage problem. Front desk manager said they didn't have any other rooms so they would let us check out early with no additional fees but we ended up getting charged early check out and some other junk fees. Pool was packed and couldn't find a seat. It seemed like they let non guest into the pool as there was 3 different kids birthday parties. The grounds are nice but rooms are dated. Needs a huge renovation.
Excellence in all categories. Pro course excellent food and accommodations.
I was gifted a day at the spa and it was absolutely incredible. There are so many wonderful amenities available from sauna, steam room, reflexology walk, Roman shower and more. The food was wonderful as well. Highly recommend!!
I had a fabulous massage. Pressure and treatment were wonderful. Very accommodating.
We went to Vue at Omni for Saturday brunch to celebrate a special occasion. The patio was a great place to eat. Nicely decorated and great views. The menu isn't huge, but we all enjoyed our dishes (burgers, fish tacos, calamari, lobster roll). Somewhat expensive, but that's to be expected in a "resort" setting like this. We will consider going back to sit on the patio again for our next special occasion.
Good beer. Good organization in getting thousands of people in and out
We had a wonderful time, Definetly 5 star resort! Loved the music out side by tyre fire pit and food trucks, we could keep little one with us!
Fast greens. Cool to play a course that has hosted PGA events and a Tiger Moment.
Stunning views, delicious faire and unsurpassed service.
Nice resort for golfers and weddings. A bit too noisy in public areas and pools. Serious not having Wi-Fi in the pool. Excessive price for quality
Very classy and nice. Awesome staff and beautiful set up.
Scheduled a custom massage and took advantage of the all day spa services. Great atmosphere, great massage, and a great way to relax.
Beautiful Resort...I visited the Chopra Center, and saw Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary. A life changing appt. I cant wait to begin my journey!
The staff at the resort were fantastic, but the layout of the property is a bit expansive and the rooms aren't very well equipped for an overnight business traveler. In this case, I couldn't find any powered USB ports available for charging devices, which is something I've come to see as fairly standard. Curiously, I did find a charger for an iPhone 4, which seemed a bit out of date. The room itself is laid out well and the patio is a nice touch. I would have appreciated a bit more desk space, but on the upside the bed was really comfortable and the TV was easy to use, which isn't as common as it seems it should be. The bathroom door, oddly, was a real hassle. It was a two panel door, one side of which was on a sprung hinge, and would not remain open. As I didn't fit conveniently through one half of the door without turning sideways, I found the constant bumping into it annoying by the end of my stay. I think I understand why the door is built the way it is; if it were to stay open the other half would interfere with the main door opening. But annoying none the less. In sum, I think this is the kind of place I would definitely bring my kids, were we to have a couple days where we wanted to kick around in a pool, which is something I didn't get a chance to do. With a little bit of investment, perhaps a better solution for the self parking situation, I could easily see this resort becoming a five-star.
A wonderful weekend place to rejuvenate yourself. It's a mini town inside the resort. Go for a round of golf when you rejuvenate.
Overpriced. Fairways were ok and so were the greens. Not much better than some of the munis.
Don t usually leave reviews but this place definitely deserves 5 stars. Just moved to the area and wanted to check it out. A beautiful resort with an amazing staff. The Christmas decorations were so pretty. Had lunch on the patio and Oscar was our server... he is very good at what he does and was very helpful and great at upselling. The food was delicious thank you to the chef. Joe was super nice- stopped by to see how lunch was. Took a walk and said hello to the starter and he was so nice as well as well as the people in the golf shop. Also so cool that you can take a golf board or bike on the course. I will definitely be back to play, eat, explore. Just 1 thing the kids arcade didn t give me the toy I won and there was no puck for air hockey but I shouldn t be playing on the kids games anyway. Just a big kid at heart.
Beautiful property. Always great service and very professional
amazing place but $13 for a glass of house wine is ridiculous
We went to an event of my company for Christmas. Everything - EVERYTHING was excellent and professional.
If you hate dogs and like spiders, then this is the place to go. They have ample patios and restaurants but prohibit animals, even service dogs from being on them. The spider webs on chandileres are ready for Halloween. Pools are adequate with heavy chlorine. Fortunately their cocktail menu has recently improved. Their wine selection is still overpriced and sub par.
Excellent service, beautiful, relaxing and quiet place, delicious food and drinks.
