Lost a bet and Googled what a concha is. Apparently it's kinda like a clam. Had to go see it. Got there... it was huge and clean shaven to boot. 10\10 biggest concha you'll ever see. If you had to, you could live in it.

This resort definitely has it's pros and cons.

This resort definitely has it's pros and cons.

I travel to San Juan a lot for work, and it is usually for extended periods of time.

Pros:
It is right on the beach, a beautiful clean beach. There are 4 pools and 2 hot tub's on property, which is nice because none are ever to full. I have been here on busy weekends (July 4th and Labor day) and did not ever feel as if the pools were "too crowded".

The food at the pool restaurant was average. I did not find the food to be great or bad. It was average, because of the location, it's easy to order when lounging by the pool.

The rooms are spacious with a lot of natural light. I stayed here for 5 weeks (not continuously). I can say the first 3 weeks I stayed I did not experience turn down service (nor was I expecting it), but my next stay which was 2 weeks, I received turn down service every night.

Location is great. There are many restaurants in walking distance. I personally liked La Cocinita (a traditional cuisine food truck), Cocina Abierta, Serafina (which can be found on the mainland, but was still very good Italian) Chloe, and Barista Squared (for coffee/breakfast).

There was some staff that was friendlier then others (as to be expected). I dealt with Jonathan often, and he was great. I was once told, "The best thing about Puerto Rico is the people". I can't say, I disagree.

Cons: I have mixed review about housekeeping. Some days, I had a housekeeper knocking on my door at 9am on the dot. I did not mind, as I was usually up and out the door for work at that time, but at times I had some friends staying with me so I would leave the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and this was an inconvenience to them. Other days, I did not get serviced until 3pm and therefore, for my situation, it worked out well.

I did not find that all elevators were working at all times, but I was able to get around this. I would say count on 2 out of the 3 elevators working. I had to wait, at most, for an elevator between 60-90 seconds. Sometimes, no longer then 15 seconds.

The self parking seemed to be an issue throughout my stay. The validation machine does not work for the entity of the stay, and everyday, I would be grabbing a new parking ticket, and validating it. This at times took me an extra 5 to 10 minutes to get out of the self parking garage.

There is a nightclub in the hotel. I only attended one time. The biggest downfall to this is that I heard the bass of the club until 4am Thursday - Saturday. I consider myself a light sleeper. It was never enough to wake me up, but sometimes, I did find myself having difficulty going to sleep.

In Summary, I enjoyed my stay at the Resort. I have been to a few other resorts in San Juan, and have liked this one because it has a good balance of leisure and non-leisure. Also, because I was there for work, and the rooms have such a great view, I could not pass that opportunity up.

The location is ok. It is close to the city if you have a car, and there are nearby restaurants and a 24hr CVS that are walking distance. The beach is a bit dirty, but there is a good amount of space and abundant chairs. The pools are all pretty small, but there are 4 options and a hot tub. The staff are friendly but do not recognize elite members (platinum) and are unorganized. The suites are large and views are as stated in the booking - it is much better to have a full ocean view. The furnishings in the rooms are a bit cheap, but fully functional and clean. I'm not sure that this hotel is really worth the cost overall.

I'm staying here as I write this review. My husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our room has a lovely city view, kitchenette , and a balcony. My only complaint about the room is that there are no chairs in the actual room. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The pools are small but clean. The onsite restaurants are pricy, but there are many restaurants within walking distance. We are enjoying our stay here. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I really wanted to like this place. I've been to Puerto Rico a few times and absolutely loved the hotels I had stayed in.
Rooms were dated, service was mediocre. We received a free suite upgrade through Marriott, but the suites were similar to the family friendly suites in Orlando, Florida - not luxury. Some of the staff were pleasant, a lot were rude. Food was overpriced. Valet required waiting 45 minutes before we could get the car - ridiculous given the $25 per night price.
The booking system is outsourced to their corporate office, who have no idea about customer service. To amend the booking, I had to contact the General Manager directly by email and request a change (they were, at least, very hospitable).
For a destination hotel in Puerto Rico, this fell short. Would recommend staying at the San Juan Stellaris Resort if you are looking for a Marriott property to stay at.

Nice hotel. Stayed here after being evacuated from Sint Maarten. The price was expensive for the slow season. I had no batteries in the cordless phone receiver and the removable shower portion was broken- never repaired even though reported. Good entertainment and daily drink specials as well as beach access. For the extra fees expected that repairs would be made quicker. A good place to stay.

2 stars because the staff is awesome. Otherwise, 7 in the morning the construction was so noisy and loud with pounding and drilling.. we had requested early check-in and although we know we can't always get that we didn't expect to have to finally get our room at 5:30 p.m.
And that they first sent us to an occupied room and the key of course would not work.
Internet connection was poor , signal dropped often and just not being able to sign in a lot of the times.. website never mentioned anything about the very loud Construction.
So enjoyed it last time so this is too bad we will not return

I must say that this place should be a 5star not a 4 star. Every single person that works in the resort is attentive and friendly. This is the cleanest place i have ever stayed in. They are clean freaks. I recommend this place to everyone.

The hotel is clean and I appreciated their Covid restrictions. It s a nice hotel with friendly staff and we had a beautiful ocean front room but the big negative was the lack of security in the pool and beach areas , the number of people smoking marijuana was overwhelming and the unfortunate thing was the staff turning a blind eye , assume they did it to avoid confrontations but made our stay the worse experience we ve ever had and we are well travelers , very sad especially when we are of Puerto Rican descent. We tried to speak to Stepahie the manager in charge today but after waiting for her a staff member came over to take our information down stating she would call us and she never did. Management I hope you read this and make every effort to fix your problem because this reflects poorly on you. I m do back in May with my family and will not stay here and will not recommend it to my friends or family.

The ambiance even during Covid was spectacular! The staff, Lillian, Laurie at the Bar, Jasmine the Bar Manager, the bell man Joeliberto all worth mentioning.

Housekeeping can be more tactful about changing all levels of the bedding.

I love that the bonvoy app made it awesome for connecting with staff.

Everything thing went well stayed here for the Fourth of July weekend and everyone was very nice and helpful, they were ready to answer any questions I had. Only complaint is locals come here on the weekend and are little loud and take up the casino space. If your gonna stay here avoid weekends as it gets pretty filled up!

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean with a great view of the city from my balcony. This hotel is literally on the beach which is perfect if you re on a vacation. So many food options available in the hotel and in walking distance from the hotel. I will for sure be staying here again next time I m in Puerto Rico

This hotel is pretty amazing. It is in a really good location. Their is a Casino connected to the lobby. The rooms are here were a lot nicer and than the room I had down the street at one of the Hiltons. Lastly the bar and pool areas are really nice as well.

*DONT BOOK HERE**After booking weeks in advance a specific room category I get to hotel after a long flight, check in and go to my room which is still occupied with luggage and clearly not cleaned. I go to the front desk and instead of rectifying quickly I am told they re unsure how long it ll take them to figure out the room situation and they can either refund me or put me in a different room I let her know I didn t wanna be in the older rooms and she continued on saying she cannot do anything until they investigate which I m unsure how long that could take. The supervisor went to the back and left me out front waiting without any time frame. I had to call Marriotts main customer service line for them to call the hotel and help me figure it out. They put me in a room temporarily after I waited almost an hour. I went to the gym to work out only to get a call saying they didn t have the room category I had already paid over 2 grand for. I go to the front desk and now I m speaking with someone else and now they give me a room on the 5 floor when the original room they gave me was on the 11 floor. Previously the lady told me they would be fixing the room situation and cleaning it from scratch. I can t make an assumption but it seems to me that someone who works there gave that room to someone they knew. How is it that you give me activated keys to a hotel room with someone s luggage in it.

Don t stay here! They re unprofessional! Clearly the rooms aren t cleaned in between and management is absolutely terrible and wasn t apologetic at all they seemed more annoyed that i wanted what I paid for. I didn t ask for a discount I asked to be placed in the correct room that I paid for. I received no apologies and don t plan on returning to this disgusting property.

Music. But they have to change the sitting arrangements. Otherwise should change the venue. Too many people, no standing room. If not one on top of another. People invade spaces that are reserved and paid for. Need better logistics. More security, to ensure no one crosses over reserved spaces.

Felt very COVID-compliant and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is definitely older and the rooms need some updating. Our shower head was limestoney and the door was damaged, room cleanliness could be improved. And the AC could have been colder.

Beach access, staff, and onsite eating was incredible. If we were returning to PR we d probably stay at another hotel just because the price seemed high for the amenities at La Concha.

Great location! Wonderful hotel, great accommodations, private beach, multiple pools, very decent gym, and best of all, great restaurants within walking distance if you want to eat outside of the hotels premises. We were here last year without kids, and came back again with kids. Great for couples or family.

This hotel is very well located. Historic, trendy, classy and upscale. I honestly would recommend this for your next family vacation or your next business trip.
4 pools, a casino, gift shop and various restaurants within the premises, there is no need to go anywhere else.
Enjoy the island and welcome to Puerto Rico , your new home!
