Very disappointed. Bought a pair of hiking boots on my last trip to Acadia National Park . Went to use them on this trip and the boots literally disintegrated. The soles completely fell apart. Boots were not abused or worn in rain, yet the soles fell apart simular to a tire loosing a retread. Brought them back to the store to be told that without a receipt there is nothing they could do. Boots were 'LL Bean brand but with their new returns policy, you are no longer protected by even manufactured defects past 90 days. Customer service representation was rude and when I asked if she could throw them out for me since they are of no use to me, was told that she is not allowed to touch them. Really!!?? There is absolutely no reason for me to ever shop your store with better service from your competitors and certainly more polite.

Follow up: customer service representative called, were able to research proof of purchase. They honored the warrantee and gave me credit. Impressed that they went out of their way to follow up. Thank you Amy and 'LL Bean

It's open 24/7. It really is more than just a place to shop. The small cafe has some great coffee & light food items & baked goods. In Summer they have free concerts + in Fall they have wagon rides & Christmas lights at night in December. Love going to LL Bean all year around.

I'm not sure what to say about the flagship store of an outdoor equipment institution. If you're not familiar with LL Bean, and you have the chance the store is worth a visit. If you are familiar, then you probably dont need to be convinced. But the variety of items should meet any need, the quality should meet any challenge, and the staff know enough to educate you on any equipment or activity.

L.L.Bean is a fantastic place. They bring so many jobs to Maine. They have made in USA products made in Maine products but it seems like a lot of their products are being shipped out of the country which is sad because I know L.L.Bean was first founded on keeping products in Maine and in the US. They have a great return policy. And they guarantee what they sell which is awesome. L.L.Bean will always be a part of my shopping experience as long as they continue to sell made in the US / Maine products

The items are well made. I have a pair of boots that are 20 years old and just as good as the day I bought them! I have been a customer for over 50 years. Highly recommend any store that stands behind their product like LLBean does!

The Northern Lights events going on right now are really nice. Reindeer, Santa, and hot cocoa.

I used to really like L L Bean, but the only reason I could justify paying their exorbitant prices was that they backed up the item with a lifetime guarantee. It was as if the extra cost was used to factor in a replacement here and there. I knew I could buy a product and if it fell apart in a few years I wasn't out a bunch of money. I realize why they changed the guarantee and it seems like a few people ruined it for everyone, but Bean could have been more proactive about their policy. I can't buy one Craftsman socket and every time I need a different size go and exchange it for another size, or trade in my old wrenches for their cash value toward a new set of ratcheting wrenches. Their overly liberal approach facilitated people abusing the lifetime guarantee. Now, combine their one year warranty with the fact that the quality of their products is subpar (at best) and they are right back at the reason the lifetime guarantee existed in the first place. It was to avoid losing every customer they had and losing new ones by word of mouth. Congratulations L L Bean, you have managed to not learn from your past mistakes.

A must come for visitors! I enjoyed our visit to Freeport and LLbean.

Loved it. First, open 24 hours, which makes it a great place to go when the baby wakes up super early on the weekend. They have two cafes. We ate at the upstairs one. Both the food and coffee were excellent. Hi for your coffee black, even if it isn't usually your thing. Their coffee was great, not at all bitter. Tons of parking. Very helpful staff. Clean bathrooms. Good sales.

Love LL Bean, but whatever you are thinking of buying, check the outlet first! This store is like a destination in itself, with taxidermy and live fish in a huge tank. Really fun place.

LLBean is always a good time. The holiday light display this year is great and there's draft horses and a wagon giving rides around town.

L.L. Bean won t let you in if you re not wearing a mask. We walked away. I refuse to give corporations my business that require masks. They don t do anything. COVID has a 99% survival rate. Wake up sheeple.

Want to see a moose how about two? Headed to alaska? The Antarctic? Or maine in year round. Quality isnt cheap this aint the dollar store

This was one of the highlights of my trip through Maine. It was great to see the L.L.Bean products in person, as I have ordered through the catalog and online for many years.

Great place for all kinds of clothes and camping gear. It's huge and considered a campus. If your in the area it's a must see and check out.

You get what you pay for. Not the cheapest place but the product is superior.

Open 24/7/365. They don't even have latches or locks on their entry doors! Amazing selection of the complete LL Bean catalog, with excellent customer service. It's an outdoorsmans mecca.

I purchase as many of my shoes as I can from this company. I have never been disappointed in the quality of the merchandise or the customer service that goes along with it.

Large campus with plenty of places to swing into. Can't beat their guarantee which makes you feel good with about any purchase you make here.

Well-stocked and with many knowledgeable and friendly staff to accommodate. Fun to explore and walk around the pond and over the little hiking bridge. A park across the street was host to a Bluegrass Festival today, which was an added bonus. Be prepared to drop some money here-there are so many things to try!

HOLY COW this place is huge. awesome selection of literally everything that is in the catalog. will be going again if i am ever in freeport. its nice to see and feel certain objects that are not available in your local store.

This has been one of our favorite places to stop on our way North since our children were little! Lots of stuff for the kids to explore while stretching our legs. I love the quality of LLBean's products .. especially their backpacks and lunchboxes!

Wonderful place to shop and a whole different atmosphere then any other outlet I been to.

Found a pair of super cute waterproof boots for a very reasonable price. Got contrasting laces that they measured and even got tom the metal anglets to match lacing grommets. My bf has shoes and winter gear from here that helps him get through Maine winter's.

My favorite place to shop. If I need it, especially in clothing, they not only have it, but it will fit and last.

A real staple of Maine culture. The heart of Freeport. Great hours, and friendly staff. It's always busy but the lines move fast!

Always a fun stop when in Maine. Friendly and helpful staff, great product selection and even though much of its products are made overseas now, it still has a feel of DownEast.

A nice new Christmas display but we still missed the big tree and light show.

Awesome store and love going here every time I'm in town. The quality of their items is incredible. I'm still wearing ski gear that's 15 years old and it's as warm today as it was when first purchased.

Nothing but a high priced tourist trap. The only thing left here that authentic Maine is the name on the building. Was there yesterday. Everything here you can get on Amazon for 40% less. Yes , the exact same items, same manufacturer. The only difference is the addition of the LL Bean tag. With the change in the return policy this year, it's not worth the extra money.
