King's Dominion-Cedar Fair Entertainment Company Review

We had a phenomenal time! I just wish they would tell you when the rides are not open so that my family and I could have been more prepared one of the ride that the kids really want it wasn't open so we could have gone on a different day. The grandparents to the kids loved sitting by the fountain.

Drove 2 hours to experience what i thought would be a fun day but ended up being abhorrent. Their staff was just cretinous and nescient to their product and how to process them. It took us over 30 minutes to process a Fast Lane ticket (Purchased online thinking it would speed up the process) however that was not the case.. and also spoke to 5 different staff (One of which was a supervisor) to figure out how to redeem it. It delayed the process and you have to go to the middle of the park just to get it redeemed. They clearly need to come up with a more efficacious method to make it easier on their customers. Then not to mention everything in the park is priced way to costly for the value. Considering how pricey everything is you would think they would at least spend money to hire competent staff and maintain the park to a higher standard. The bathrooms here horrendous and unpleasant to the point you'd rather go to the nearest gas station up the street. In collusion lets just say i will not be using my seasons pass i purchased and will not be returning anytime soon.

Between I liked it and it's ok. The costumer service in the restaurants arround the multi cultural area are abysmal and they clearly didn't want to be there but the food was decent enough. The amusements were really great and I had a blast with my baby niece, specially in the water works. Well, I bought the cup so I'll be sure to be back, sure wish the multi cultural area and food had much more thought put into it.

I went two time and I enjoyed very well and a lot of rides

It was really fun and has a bunch of great rides and a waterpark

No pain, no gain. This place knows how to drain your wallet! If that's not a problem, then you will enjoy :) I recommend Dominator as the most fun, and intimidator for the thrill seekers. (also don't hesitate to stay after dark for all the lights and music especially at the "Eiffel Tower")

The place is fantastic. Only down side is that the food is super expensive but for the most part is incredible. The rides are fantastic. There are intensities for everyone. And soak city was an absolute blast. Absolutely worth coming here. If you can get season pass or grupon special even better

Kings Dominion is always a fun park and it's one of our home parts and they just added a brand new RMC coaster called Twisted Timbers and it's a great ride I recommend this park to anyone and they have a huge Planet Snoopy for the little kids it's amazing so anyone up all ages will have a great time here and it's located right off I-95

Always have a great time with family at the Halloween Haunt! Fast Lane Plus passes were well worth the money. Kids rode their favorite rides repeatedly with less than a 10 minute wait each time. Meal plan was paid for itself several times over as we ate 4 times during the visit. Halloween Haunt theme is the best at any amusement park we've visited.

Brought my son here for his birthday and we really enjoy the park. The rides are great. The food is awsome. Can't wait to go back. And they have a water park here

The intimidator is the best roller coaster in the park. Followed by the flight of fear. We rode every roller coaster in 5 hours. I definitely recommend going in the off season when it's not crowded.

Two recommendations for the park. They need to relabel the instructions for ending the locker rentals because they're all worn and cannot be read. Or they should have an option to end the rental at the kiosk. Better yet, an option to log on to a website on your phone or the KD app, or to text to end would be great options as well.

Friendly staff, clean park. I've been going to this location since I was a little girl. Lots has changed but i am still excited as i am able to now take my kids.

Nickelodeon and the scooby doo theme needs to come back. It is way better than peanuts theme and the boo blasters

Overall it was very fun lots of things to do for the kids. Felt like they need more variety in the food. Its better than it was when i was a kid.

Went to the Halloween Haunt tonight. Spent almost $300 to go and never even got into one of the haunted houses because there was over a two hour wait to get into each one. They let way too many people in and there's not enough to do. Total waste of money.

We had a great time just remember to pack your own food because the food in the park is outrageously high

I went here with my church and we had lots of fun. I just thought there should be more places to sit around.

We had a great time. Love the water park, and the Carnival parade at the end. The "Gravity" show was outstanding!

Have always loved it since I was a child. Get the season pass! It is a huge bargain!

This was an awesome park to visit, it is very clean and had some great themes and decorations. They have a ton of rides and rollercoasters. Everyone we came into contact with was so very friendly and helpful. It is definitely a park we will visit again.

went on mother's day was really surprised how few rides had any wait time at all if u can afford it a season pass pays for it's self in 2 visits

A bit pricey but hey, great time to spend with the family. They just opened a small brewery in the park call the "Parched Pig", not bad at all. Nice touch!

Great park coming From an enthusiast. I would compare this park to a six flags because they have a lot of cloned rides, or rides from six flags (dominator) but that s ok since they are great roller coasters. Personally I like anaconda. Everyone says it is unsmooth but I think it is smoother that Nessie at Busch gardens. Awesome park and would totally recommend

We are new season pass holders (but have been going to the park since childhood) and our basing our review on two visits in the last 14 days.

KD is a great park for rides. We have the adults that like the coasters and five kids under 9 that like the kiddie rides. Everyone was happy with the rides.

We only went to the Gravity show...mainly cause we needed a break from the heat - it was air conditioned and everyone, kids included, had a blast.

We thought the food and drinks were priced way way too high and did not eat or buy any drinks in the park. I mean we are talking $15 for a bbq sandwich fries and a soda. (Bought the all season dining and drink pass for next year).

Back in your the day we would see people cleaning the park throughout the day...didn t see this on these too visits and thought the park needed some basic trash maintenance...including the bathrooms...the ones across from Outer Hanks were disgusting.

A pretty penny, but there are often discounts around the web. Also discounts for military. Both the water and dry parts of the park are a blast. I always get a thrill going here.

This just happened an hour ago. We were at Twisted Timbers and the associates were incredibly rude. They slammed the bar down on my sister s arm as she s trying to get her seatbelt fastened. Completely disregarded her reaction, rolled their eyes and then told me to put my glasses up, which I was doing. There is just always a problem anymore and they act like it s a convenience you re even in the park. Not to mention the park looks worse and worse every time we go *gold pass members*
It ruined our mood and we left.

This amusement park is outstanding! I have been to Busch gardens, the Disney parks, Six Flags as well as a few lesser known parks and I have to say this park is better for our family. If you go during the week it isn't overcrowded and they offer food and ride deals similar to the larger parks. Go online to check out the meal/drink deals as well as other promotions they may offer. Our hotel had a shuttle service from our hotel to the park. I will cancel our annual trip to Disney this year and come back here instead.

Excellent park with tons of great rides. Intimidator 305, Volcano, and Twisted Timbers have to be some of the best coasters of all time. Hopefully Volcano won't be closed forever. Love coming here. Light years better than Six Flags America

I loved every aspect of King's Dominion though I did not experience it from the patron's perspective since I was an employee as well as an international student. Planet Snoopy has great options for children of all ages and makes allowances for parents to regroup throughput the visit.

I've always loved Kings Dominion. It's a great place for families and friends to hang out, and not a bad idea for a date. The season passes are a great deal, especially if you get the passes with Halloween haunt and winter's fest included in the year before.

Whent to planet snoopy as a kid.

Love it! Amazing rides, good service, and most of all fun for the whole family! I reccomend this place to anyone looking for a thrilling getaway with friends and family.

Best park in VA. The rides feel amazing and you'll always get an Adrenalin rush.

Twisted Timbers was the best coaster I've ever been on

We have been going to Kings Dominion since it opened in '75. I took my youngest and my grandson this year and they absolutely loved it. Planet Snoopy did not disappoint. They transformed the Scooby-Doo roller coaster into Woodstock. I was a little disappointed that ShockWave and a few other childhood favs left but it was all about the little ones this time around. And make sure you pack a picnic basket. The food prices were astronomical! But that $12 funnel cake was worth every penny!

Got the twilight price for going after 6 pm.. nearly half off park was open until ten. Cheerful employees, awesome rollercoasters and almost no lines (monday) Lockers are affordable and efficient. Glad I stopped by!

We went first thing in the morning and were able to ride all the roller coasters before lunch time!

First aid team was very helpful and concerned when my daughter was hurt. We still were able to enjoy the rest of the day.

Really enjoyed Winterfest. Lots of lights and good entertainment.

This is an action park that offers a fun day filled with thrills. The park has some of The wildest roller coasters that are a lot of fun. Comparing the park to some other simular parks Kings Dominion falls short in some areas. First overall cleanliness. The park is not dirty but overall the park has a gringy feel as if some up keep could be better done.

Second the staff is ridiculously young and most can you a lesson or two while talking to guest. For example my wife was getting some pizza in one of their food courts and her hand brushed against plate and a employee screams from across the room, " if you touch a plate you need to take it!".... Ah really

Third, its expected when you go to a park like this that everything will be over priced but holy #!$&. Overpriced items is an understatement. Most products are a complete rip off.

Overall the park offers some great rides and if that's all you re looking for then this is the place for you. However if you are looki,g for a more well rounded atmosphere then you may be disappointed.

Kids had a great time. Not too busy. Foods expensive.

I love KD, food is too expensive and doesn't taste all that great so eat before you go the only rollercoaster I would not recommend is the Anaconda unless you want your head hit against the set very very ruff ride.

Absolutely the most fun I've experienced at an amusement park. Lines were not extremely long and the discounted ticket price was amazing

Worst Park overall of the ones we visit. April 2018 - we've been to Carowinds in NC/SC and Bush Gardens in VA numerous times and decided to try Kings this time. In summary: dirty, dirty bathrooms, horrible and overpriced food ($4 water, $30 for 2 chic-fil-a sandwiches, sides and waters), rides frequently shut down during our two days (coaster didn't make it through the loop, etc), just overall we found this park to be the worst overall. We LOVE Bush Gardens, VA - clean, expensive but not anything near Kings, no ride functional issues, nice helpful employees, shade, etc. Some good coasters but not worth the other issues. First and last time at Kings.

Best value theme park. For rides, but make up for it with the cost of food and drinks with a rule and belonging search forbidding anything other than bottled water being taken into the park. Food service areas and restroom definately need some work on cleanliness.

This is one of the best amusement parks i have been to. It has s snoopy land for younger kids and plenty of rides for non thrill seekers...The admission price is only 39.00 if u google kings dominion tickets and selwct the vacation ticket link from another website... There are plenty of restrooms and it may sound pricey but they sell souvenir cups for 14.99 but they have drink stations all around the park where u get free unlimited refills all day..There are live shows daily. One note worth mentioning do not bring small chilsren to the halloween events after 5pm. It is way too scary for them..plus website discloses that you should not bring them due to the extreme nature of thrills .....It is also not chaotic like some parks the lines seem to move pretty quick. Best time to go is open 10:30 on a Saterday and sometimes when you get there they give away free parking. If not parking is $20.. They have lockers as well you can rent so u dont have to carry your stuff around all day. Overall i give this park 10 stars if I could.. Just too awesome!

They need more roller coasters and to get rid of the grizzly that coaster wobbles during the ride that is very dangerous and it's a safety hazard..

Really disappointing experience, I would not recommend going there the week they open. It was all day of walking up to rides to find out they were closed. My kids rode about 15% of the rides they wanted to (most were not working). I believe they should have postponed their opening in this situation. Parents take their families on vacations only a few times a year and to be this disappointed, somewhat ruined our vacation. To top it off I had tried to get a cup of hot water to warm up a frozen bottle for our youngest child. I had tried 3 different restaurants and all of them said they had no hot water.... how they sanitize their prepping and cooking areas is beyond me. But after several rude encounters I demanded to speak to a manager. A 19 year kid came out and laughed while I was explaining my situation. I then demanded to speak to his supervisor if that was the way he was trained to handle customer service concerns. At this point I have a hungry screaming infant in my arms and after explaining my problem to the next supervisor, he walked to the kitchen and brought out 2 cups of luke warm water ( he was obviously a father and knew one cup wouldn t suffice due to the temp of the wate). All around nightmare experience. Thank you to the one guy that could help!

Seems pretty outdated. The pool place is WAAAYYYYY too small. Not much is new

It would be great if the water park opened when the rest of the park opened. But it doesn't. It opens 2hours later! Some of us are not able to ride the rides, so I go to enjoy the wave pool while the kids ride the rides.

We love that water park admission is included in the price. We go every summer, and my kids look forward to it all year. I feel like my kids can grow up with the place, as there is something for toddlers and up...everyone. We all leave happy and exhausted. The last couple times we've been, I've had a nursing baby. I so appreciate the peaceful, cool accomdations provided for nursing mothers and overstimulated toddlers. We are so glad to call this a tradition. Check out the food/drink/family pack packages online before you purchase tickets.

I went in Kings Dominion after 10 years. Some of the kids rides are not working and food is very expressive. It is so bad that they don't maintain the park and rides after all they making so much money every year. Also Kings Dominion's some of the rides are not working. They also don't want you to know about it. Once you purchase the ticket or pass and you actually go there then you come to know. So please don't be a fool.

Fun place to go, we get season passes so we can make frequent trips.

Much cleaner than when I was a kid, but still room for improvement, especially in the bathrooms. Other guests are still oblivious to children right next to them when choosing their words.

Season passholders. Always happy with our experiences there!
